They made no apologies about being 3 hours late for my friend's wedding!! 5 minutes before the toast, they come in with the wedding cake!! Throughly disappointing! read more

Was in town visiting family in Michigan and they told us about this delicious dessert place! All the workers were very busy and also very helpful! I really appreciated the worker that offered to help us, he was very informative and patient. We got a box of pistachio baklava and the unicorn cake, cheesecake, and boxed mango cake. They were all delicious and gone within an hour of getting home! read more

I didn't feel welcome or safe. Not only did the man behind the counter not wear his mask properly, he pushed us off as if we weren't paying customers. We know it's the holidays, we know it's busy (but no one was limiting the number of people inside). But also, our time isn't less valuable than yours. We went in to inquire about cake flavors and try a few desserts and such, and instead of providing a reasonable response, we were brushed off rudely without even a kind explanation that they were busy and need to set an appointment to discuss those things. If you want to be treated rudely, here is the place to go. Personally, their sweets weren't worth the horrible customer service. read more

Great service and food. The people there were super nice and the churros were super delicious. Will be going back soon for a tasty treat.

This is the best of the best when it comes to the middle eastern sweets and pastry delights. They have a wide variety of every kind of sweet. I've put up a video of the entire display case to show how this place is no joke. They also have cakes and a yogurt machine with different flavors and a toppings bar. If you have a sweet tooth for middle eastern desserts this place will rot all your teeth out and send you to the hospital from the sugar rush =] read more

I just recently tried their Tres leches cake. It's delicious. Nothing I have tried before.

So, I'm disappointed that a 6 inch cake cost 40$... when I came back not even a week later for a 6 inch cake they wanted to charge me $55. Sounds like they discriminate here and are unfair to other cultures. Very rude. read more

We were welcomed by three people as soon as we walked in. Incredible customer service! Lydia was fantastic and sold us on several of her favorites immediately. So many sweet treats to try. Ice creams, cakes, baklava, crepes anything you can imagine. The atmosphere was clean and beautiful and I could see myself relaxing here drinking Turkish coffee and doing work for hours. They couldn't be more friendly! I am blown away by this. They told us to have a blessed evening and we sure will. We will be back! It's the little things! We are thrilled with our experience! Thank you! read more

Biscoff and Tres Leche are must haves. I also tried the Rochet crepe and it was sweet heaven. A layer of crepe topped with crushed fererro rochet hazelnut chocolate then topped with while and milk chocolate then served with custard fruits and ice cream. There is Turkish baklava filled with ashta, loved it. Actually all the Turkish baklava options I tried wEre greaT. The Nutella kunafa is ridiculous. Go here there is something for everyone. read more

If you are looking for the best sweets look no further. The best middle eastern sweets spot in the metro Detroit area! Must try.

We've tried Cathay sweets for a while now and we have had decent experience with them specially with cakes and other mideastern desserts, BUT we had a special order for a cake for my son's birthday and I can't explain how horrible it tasted. I mean the look of the cake was decent, not great but decent! In the other hand, it tasted bitter, and slimy and the cream color stuck to our hands for the whole day even with washing our hands so many times. We literally had to throw it away..which was very unlikely since we have had their individual cakes before and they tasted good and that's why we decided to do my sons cake there, but it was a really bad experience unfortunately.. read more

Farhat Sweets for the win! They have excellent desserts and baklava treats that have a wide range. Everytime I go I do my best to try something new. They have a tres leches with biscoff cookie crumbs on top which will have your eyes rolling in the back of your head, all of their different types of kanafa are good and I love their custard cronut is BOMB, Zaatar and cheese breads also bomb! read more

Looks like the service has gone down, not following there own token system, being rude to customers lately. Looks like the business is doing so much that for the reasons why we used to go there has been detoriated. read more

Walked in the store, completely dead. Lady at the front watched me walk in, literally nobody in the store. Doesn't acknowledge me and goes into the back and I'm waiting 5 mins not one employee. Was looking to get a big cake, I left. Won't be returning. read more

I really love Farhat, but going into the store was a nightmare...until they moved to their new location! We stopped in to their new location on Sunday morning and we were quite pleased. We order some of our faves, and tried a Cronut (Nutella) for the first time. They have a new bakery section in the store, and everything was so bright and spacious. read more

The service was good. We went based off a recommendation. The food was decent. I got a slice of chocolate cake, bunch of baklava, some kind of pistachio cookie, meat pies and a cheese bread. My son got a slice of KitKat cake. I ate a little of mine and let him have the rest. Overall I thought it was good but very pricey. read more

Very large bakery. Has so many sweets to choose from. Very crowded. Was just driving by.

Horrible customer service, the people don't treat you well and if you're not middle eastern then they lie to you and do whatever they can to get your money. If you like to be treated fair and eat fresh sweets don't come here read more

Very clean Pastry Shop and friendly staff! They have frozen yogurt with plenty of toppings and of course traditional sweets like blakava (so good) The winner for me is the stuffed cronuts ... I recommend getting a least two because the first one will go too quick. read more

I was blown away by this place!! When my sister told me she wanted to eat crepes here, I humored her as this is a Middle Eastern bakery which also has crepes, kronuts, cakes, froyo and like a thousand other deserts. The Bavarian kronut was heavenly I would go back continuously just to have that alone. That is my very first recommendation. Next, the froyo which is more like a frozen custard, was absolutely delicious! The chocolate gelato one was probably my favorite. Smooth and rich in flavor. They have colorful spoons that change color as you eat from them which was a delightful touch. Lastly, the crepe was better than many places I've had crepes but not amazing. Still good though. The crepe wasn't too thin as I've had it at some places, but I would've liked it to at least have a slight crisp or crunch. Great fillings and they were super generous with the amount of fruit they packed inside the crepe. The prices were also quite unbeatable and the ambiance and seating was nice even though they have such an obnoxious outdoor sign for their place. You could probably see it from space. read more

Incredible eastern and French desserts. The place so tiny and the options more than you can handle. I tried to get al least one piece of each type to try. The French cakes all were delicious. Employees were so busy and let ppl cut the line.the girl who was helping me, left me waiting to answer the phone and started chatting for a bit until other person took the phone from her. read more

Very delicious. Lots of choices. Good seating options. If your willing to wait for a fresh crepe I would!

Sweets look great but customer service is absolutely terrible. Would not recommend this place based on that alone. Stood for 5 mins looking at sweets and asked the gentleman behind the counter about wedding cakes and was completely blown off. First he said they can't do it, then said they are too busy, and then said book an apt an come in before 6. He did not ask for any details, menus, or point us in any direction in terms of help. It was a simple question but they guy was extremely rude to the point where my fiancé and I walked out. If you are fine being disrespected for no reason, go to this place, but if you want to be treated with respect in an establishment where you plan to spend money, this is not the place for you. Will never go here again read more

Service very poor. No respect or consideration of respect. Walked in there ordered our dessert didn't get all at one time. Got my order at 9:55. The so called manager in duty turns off the lights 5 minutes later. Had no idea what he was doing. Thought by him disrespecting the customers that he gains the authority. Such a low class place. The tables were filthy unorganised and want us out of there quickly. Food was ok I felt very rushed. Didn't enjoy at all. 0 STARS * never again I would visit this place. No apology was made for the bad service. read more

The items behind the counter are beautifully arranged, and all delicious. My wife and I sampled five different items, and we enjoyed all but one of them. As others have mentioned, the baklava is absolutely wonderful. I was a bit taken aback when I was asked if I want to pistachio or walnuts, I guess I didn't know you could have either. Prices are reasonable five items came to less than seven dollars. They only reason this isn't a perfect five star review is because the lady behind the counter was just a little bit snippy with us. read more

The environment is beautiful. This place gets attention because they seem to be busy but not where the service is bad. read more

Just tried this for the first time, recently found out about this place and just grabbed some take out while we're in the city of Troy. We're normally used to go to other similar places around, but this was a good try and we'll certainly be back here. The portions are not huge, which is actually a good thing, so nothing really goes to waste and the taste is great and light.. They have different types of knafa which we got, along with some cakes assortment. Certainly very light, good price and great quality read more

Please stop here and try anything. We were introduced to Farhat Sweets about a year ago when we had the honest pleasure of meeting an online friend from Dubai, visiting here on a break from school. He read up on the bakeries in the area and brought us in, and we were introduced to what a real and incredible and delightful bakery is. So many senses tickled at one time just by walking in the door! Taking his advice, we tried our first kanafeh/kanafa/kunafa. Not ever would I have chosen this based on looks, which is how most of us shop. Now I've been back 3 times (I don't live very close) and that's always what I choose to eat there while enjoying a very delicious coffee. We don't have the luxury of stopping here often as we don't live or work very close, but there's no way I wouldn't stop here if I were within 5 miles. On our most recent (3rd) visit, we stayed inside for kanafeh and coffee and a pistachio/baklava sort of slice of pie. Then someone that waited on us brought out a biscotti cream dessert for our table of 5 to try/share. WOW!!! We couldn't pick a favorite. We also had two boxes of delicious cakes to take home. Last year, our son chose a birthday cake from their on site collection (we were there on a whim) and it was just incredible. Chocolate/hazelnut heaven. The staff? Incredibly sweet and nice. The desserts? The same. I wish they were in my neighborhood. Thank you to all staff there . . . I know it takes the great team that you are to do such a great service to anyone that walks in the door. We appreciate you and are looking forward to our next visit. The hardest part is choosing what to have! It ALL is incredible. We tried something new this time, pistachio cream/custard cake. We had it boxed up and brought it home and the 3 of of us almost fought over it. So next time, we are for sure getting 3 of those for home. And to enjoy there with coffe? Kanafeh and biscotti cream cake and the pistachio baklava like pie/dessert. Please stop by and try Farhat Sweets. read more

This place is so good! Packed with different cakes, cookies, ice cream and much more! They even have chocolate baklava. The only place I've seen chocolate baklava was in Istanbul, Turkey. I went with a few piece of their cake to take home, fabulous! I ordered a half Nutella and half biscoff crepe. It was huge and it came with a bowl of ice cream, I bowl of whipped cream and a bowl of fresh mixed berries, yum!! Def recommend stopping here. read more

Great selection and hours! Nice place to sit and visit too! Hard to pick between gelato and bakery! Wish they had fountain drinks

We love the baklava's from this bakery!! It's hands down the best baklava you can get in the city!! Going by the tasty sweets it offers... we went ahead and placed our son's birthday cake... with high hopes ! But to our disappointment it was just average... we ordered a fruit custard cake, and somehow my husband and our guests found the icing to be a lil on the bitter side ...which obviously was a bummer! I wish they could have given us a better tasting cake!! Disappointed! read more
