When she washed my hair, she even gave me a little head massage, which is something I rarely get at salons, and it made the experience feel extra special. She has such a sweet and gentle personality, and even though she's young, she carries herself with so much professionalism and kindness. I have not gotten a haircut anywhere else since thats how much I love this place and the people. Everything you would want out of a stylist. Friendly, nice, and always the perfect haircut. The salon is always clean and they have bottled water and coffee available. TVs are on for when you wait and when you're in the chair and they also have music playing so it's never too quiet. Love that they do raffles and little things for their clients on occasion. Love this place if you're looking for a great experience and not just an in and out great clips or lady Jane's haircut this is the place to go. When I called I very specifically explained the length and texture of my hair as well as the style I wanted (long, flowing "Kardashian-like beach waves). I again very specifically asked if someone in the salon was experience with this type of styling and could do this. The woman on the phone assured me she would do a great job at it. So when I arrived this past Saturday for my appointment I was expecting nothing less than what I was promised. Before she got started I showed her a picture of the style I was going for and clearly explained to her that my hair does not hold a curl well at all. So she would need to use the appropriate product to ensure it would hold throughout the days festivities. She neglected to put any product in and turned on a curling iron that looked like it had 10 years of corrosion on it. At this point my options were limited so I just went with it and hoped for the best. She curled my whole head and the when I gave her the clip to put in the crown part she had a horrible time clipping it and had to call over another stylist to help because her hands were too sweaty. I know because she told and showed me. The two of them tried for 10 minutes to clip the top of my hair. The finished product looks like a bumpy mess that I ultimately ended up completely redoing. All the curls fell out within 2 hours and I had to redo the back curls completely before the reception. Bottom line, the out of date stylists are on the same level as a Best Cuts, low-end salon that should be limited to shampoo & sets on little old ladies. Worst $40 I've ever spent. Could have done a better job myself.

I was here…read moreat once before and my only issue was the styling... however at my most recent visit I was left more in shock than awe. First I made it clear that I would need to leave at 6 (I had a 4:30 appointment, and per my last experience it shouldn't have been an issue). I stated I didn't need to have my hair dried just my bangs and we'd be good to go. Everything went well until the washing portion. The stylist left halfway through the wash (I still had soap in my hair!) to go tend a guest who had walked in to schedule an appointment. I was not the happiest but I was understanding. Part of my appointment included a bang trim. Sadly, the cut ended up uneven due my curly hair and I had to point out areas that she missed. I paid and was on my way. However when I got home, I realized I had chunks of henna still in my hair, chunks of henna stuck to my skin and clothing. Luckily henna is natural but it didn't stop my skin from changing color and getting irritated. I had to apply cream to stop the irritation. I had to take shower with three washes to get the dried chunks out of my hair and my shirt was dyed. I am extremely disappointed and though I greatly enjoy what henna does for my natural red hair, I will need to find another place to go because this experience has turned me off to this salon.

I'm really not a fan in its current state. ------- Bozalodz II is a shiny new diamond in Tremont! Nestled on the corner of West 10th and Literary, this looks like your basic brick mom-n-pop shop from the outside, but inside it's a whole other world. First of all, the space is HUGE! I've gone to a lot of "hip" salons in the area where you're crammed into a small space and you feel like you're seated on top of other clients. At Bozalodz, there's a roomy waiting area, spacious cut and wash stations, and very private waxing and massage quarters. The best part? The salon is broken up into two areas- one separate salon off to the side where they use more harsh, traditional hair chemicals and treatments, and the other where they use all natural, non toxic products. This is awesome for folks like me with chemical and scent allergies. (And whatever they use in my hair leaves it looking fabulous and is lightly and deliciously scented!) The atmosphere is soothing and serene. It smells wonderful in there- certainly not that typical stinky salon perfumey smell. The music is on point, and the space is filled with gorgeous woodwork and local art. I see two beauticians there- Rachel for waxing services and Roxanne for hair cuts/style/color. Both are very professional, do an excellent job, and have extremely affordable prices. I am somewhat shy about letting people touch my skin (especially with hot wax!) but Rachel makes me feel at ease and is quick and skilled. Roxanne is super versatile and can do anything from the most basic cut to some pretty wild stuff. What I like best about her is that when I have a half- cocked, crazy hair idea that might damage my hair or won't look good in the end, she talks me out of it and comes up with an alternative that always leaves me satisfied. Both Roxanne and Rachel are very creative and talented. On top of all that, they have local handmade goods for sale, including a line of non-toxic botanical cleaners, soaps, and beauty products that are also reasonably priced. I'm a huge fan of Bozalodz II and am so happy it moved into the neighborhood!
