Add-on was helping with taking water there and recommending chemicals in between. Kevin was here Tuesday and cleaned and checked chemicals (??!??) I told him I needed salt. I had seen the salt chlorinator had a red light and said 'check salt' still after he left I took the water to add-on. They told me I need 240 lb's of salt, chlorine, phos-free and many other chemicals. I immediately texted Kevin the results because he was 'on his way'. He then told me he couldn't service my pool because I 'under minded him' !!! And never came back!! Well, thanks Kevin (waaah-waaah) I thought I was helping and was having a family BBQ on Saturday! First they installed a salt system and then at the end of the season they closed the pool with all new parts - cover, water bags, etc. Fast forward a couple weeks later and 2 of the water bags were empty and 1 other had slipped into the pool. Now that it's time to open the pool they want to charge me over $100/hr in addition to the regular opening fee to get the water and leaves out of the pool (that are there because the cover sank.) My question to them was - do you think it's fair for me to pay you extra because you did a shoddy job closing the pool? Justin's response - Yes. Needless to say I will find another pool company to deal with.

Apparently he discovered the source in about 40 minutes or so and the total repair will end up around $350. Thank God there are still honest people out there unlike these guys. Previous Review: Mike and Andy showed up to repair my Hot Tub and apparently they spent about 20-25 minutes each diagnosing my hot tub and came to the conclusion that my pumps are bad, my heater is bad and I have numerous leaks. They parked their truck in my driveway at 10:39am and arrived to my hot tub at 10:43am. At 10:45am one person walked away from the tub and at 10:47am one of them urinated in my yard and then proceeded to walk to check out my yard for another minute or so. At 11:03am their truck was gone from my driveway and the $150 cash they convinced my wife to leave them because they couldn't come when she was home (we never indicated it was an emergency) was gone. I would have never known about this experience if my wife didn't arrive home at 11:15am (earlier than expected) and wonder why no one was here and the money was gone. Thank God we have surveillance cameras in place. These guys are liars, shady and thieves. I have no problem paying the $150 service call and any additional labor at $80 an hour to repair my tub, I do have a problem with someone ripping me off and telling me my top of the line Hot Springs Envoy that is 5 years old is basically shot. You don't have to believe me, but I have camera footage.

He was on the job with his crew for the whole time supervising but also working right along with them. The job they did can only be described as PERFECT. We have lived in our community for 42 years and have had numerous landscapers and lawn care people working at our home over the years. JHMC has been one of the best. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Give them a try- I know you won't regret it.

6-20-2026 WARNING: Avoid Midstate Tree at all costs. This company is the definition of…read moreunprofessional, dishonest, and unethical business practices. This is one of the worst experiences I ever had. Midstate Tree took full payment for removal and stump grinding of three trees, completed only tree removal on 12-17-2025, then abandoned the stump grinding job and vanished after getting paid in full. For reference: my work/contract with them is Proposal #2820, so they do not claim they cannot find me in their system as they always reply to other similar reviews from customers who shared the same exact bad experience (go see reviews on Yelp, Google, etc.); believe me these bad reviews/experiences are legitimate and truly reflect Midstate Tree's poor business and customer service as well as lack of communication with customers. The stump grinding was never done (see attached figures) despite repeated promises "they would come back in a few days", "they are waiting for the snow to melt/clear", and that I am "on their waiting list". Since 12-17-2025, almost every single attempt to contact them by phone, text message, and email was ignored, especially by Mike (the owner/CEO). After he got paid in full, he stopped responding altogether. It has been more than 6 months now. What makes this even worse is that after multiple attempts to contact them, they scheduled to come finish the work on 04/14/2026, but I ended-up wasting my entire day waiting for them as they never showed up. No call. No apology. Nothing. Just total disrespect and complete disregard for their customer. Same thing happened again after the work got re-scheduled to 06/01/2026; they never showed up. I tried to contact Mike via phone, text, and email, but he kept on ignoring my unlimited requests to finish the work, and told me the machine is down and he has labor availability issues. I was understanding and patient. However, after re-scheduling the work to 06/20/2026, they also never showed up. Mike gave me the same execuse that the machine is down and informed me that I am no longer under contract (i.e., basically they decided to abandon their contractual obligations that I already paid them for in full). They cannot just decide to break the contract and get away with it, since they are legally obliged to either complete the agreed-on work or reimburse me the costs of having to hire another company to do it. I informed them that's what the court's decision would be if I escalate the issue and get it resolved in a legal rather than a friendly way. If they truly care about their customers, they could have either rented another machine to get the job done or apologized and told me that they will reimburse me the costs of having to hire another company to complete the work. This company clearly does not value honesty, accountability, and customer service. Once they have your money, don't expect communication, follow-through, or basic professionalism. Their behavior showed a complete lack of integrity and respect for their customers. They had no problem taking my money immediately, but once it came time to honor their agreement and finish the job, they disappeared. This is not how legitimate businesses operate. I gave them every opportunity to correct the situation privately before posting this review. Mike, his wife Angie, and their office secretary Stephanie (she is the most helpful) are aware of the problem, but Mike never cooperated to solve the issue in a friendly way. Instead, Mike ignored every attempt to communicate and get the issue resolved in an amicable way. At this point, I feel completely ripped off and forced to hire another company and spend even more money just to finish work that Midstate Tree was already paid to do. If you value your money, your time, and your sanity, stay away from Midstate Tree. There are many honest and reliable tree companies out there that actually honor their agreements and treat customers with respect, but Midstate Tree is not one of them. I would never trust Midstate Tree again and would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

Since we have used Ahner, we have had issues with communications. They are difficult to contact and do not call back or respond very promptly. They also have very limited days when they will close the pool - only Friday or Saturday. Those are minor annoyances but this year when we opened our pool (we open it ourselves and had Ahner close it for us the previous September), it looked like a pond with moss like algae over every surface. We immediately sent Ahner pictures and asked for a response. When we finally got in contact with them after multiple attempts and 2 days later, they told us we should have put chemicals in the pool during the winter, that the chemicals would not have made it through to spring and besides that they said we closed it too early (which they did) and opened it too late (it is not even Memorial day yet!). They never told us we should be putting chemicals in midwinter. We have had this pool for many years and have never seen algae this bad - ever! They are not taking responsibility for the error they made nor helping us to clean it other than telling us what to do.

Not only did we get our pool in a ridiculously fast time, the workmanship was top notch, and our pool is beautiful. The owners came to our house and explained the process of how our pool would be built, and even explained to us why one of the options that we thought we had needed (based upon what we were previously told by another pool builder in the Lehigh Valley) could be done in a far greater cost effective manner. (Which by the way, thanks to Mrs. Ahner saved us a bundle). We have recommended Ahner Inground Pools to all of our friends and family and our neighbor's pool will be installed next week (by Ahner Pools of course). Great company, Great Owners, and Great crew...Fantastic Pool...Highly recommend.
