I can't believe I did not write this sooner. Sandra and the team are amazing. I had phoned to get a cost comparison for a carpet I have found at another place. She was honest and upfront and told me things about the carpet choice we had made that the other carpet store did not tell us. Like, had we bought the carpet, we would have voided the warranty the first time we used our brand of vacuum, and that in 5 years, that carpet would look like mush. Husband and I went down and met with Sandra and looked at all kinds of options. She was happy to sell us the high end, super expensive stuff, but shared with us each pro and con and educated us on the various types of carpet. In the end, she asked us our needs, came to our house, and from there guided us to the best look at choice for our house. The plus was it was far less than we were thinking and the quality is fantastic. Her team showed up prepared and on time and did an amazing job. They were polite, professional and very courteous. We built our home 3 years ago and installed luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring throughout the whole house. Over the summer, we noticed that there were some gaps that were occurring in the hallway. I tried to get our original flooring contractor to come out and take a look but was unable to get him to come. So, I contacted Fantastic Floors and spoke with Joe who is the owner of the business. I also contacted another company who came out and quoted me $2000 -$4000 to fix a few gaps because they said they would have to rip out alot of the LVT!! Luckily, Joe came out and looked at it and said that it would be an easy fix and would cost around $400-$500. The final invoice came to $250 and nothing had to be ripped out. We are planning on building a new house in a few years and when we do, we will be contacting Joe to install floors throughout our new home. He is honest and has great follow through. read more

She was mindful of our budget, making sure to show us things that met that limit. She offered advice on installation options including the direction the boards should run in. When the existing flooring proved difficult to remove, she kept us informed. A month after installation, our floating floor developed a few areas where it was buckling. She arranged quick repair of those areas. It was obvious throughout the job that our happiness with the finished product was her top priority. Terrible communication, never follows through. I had originally contacted Sandra on June 13 over email about an issue I had with some flooring, she gave me a call, we discussed the issue, and sent a technician over in a reasonably fast time. The person arrived on time, said he'd either be back in an hour or call me within an hour. Never heard back from him. I called back a couple days later, and they said that's odd, but that they have take a note of it, and will get back to me soon. As you can see, this is 4 months later and still no follow through. I came in looking to get a small section of carpet replaced. Sandra helped me pick out the right shade and texture of carpet (which I found out was pretty tricky) and was very friendly, patient, and courteous. She gave us the best price out of any other carpet places we called in the area which was fantastic and much appreciated! We bought a condo not long ago and one of the first things I wanted to do was change out the flooring. It was carpet and quite a bit dated. I got a recommendation from a contractor I've used, which ultimately led me to Fantastic Floors. I also got a couple other quotes just to see where everything stood on pricing as well. One thing to note is having just moved we had a lot of furniture/stuff that had to be moved around during the process. I got a hold of Fantastic Floors and Joe came out and did some measurements. On time, helpful, very detailed and honest about what to expect. I had an idea of what I wanted to spend as this was a decent sized job... 2 bedrooms/office/upstairs hallway and landing/downstairs entryway/hallway/kitchen/dining room and living room. We also wanted carpeting on the stairs. We picked out what we wanted for flooring and carpet, Sandra was nothing short of amazing, and we were off to the races. The quote they gave was right on par with what I was looking to spend. It was a big job and there's always the possibility of issues coming up and this was no different. The timing of this job roughly took 2 weeks because of unseen and unfortunate circumstances. It was a little challenging for all of us but Sandra and Joe came through and got the job done. They even threw in some rugs made out of carpet remnants, that we got to choose, as they felt bad on the length of the job. Needless to say the floors came out amazing. Sandra, as mentioned earlier, was amazing to work with from beginning to end and Joe made sure everything was done to our liking. He initially told me that they're not the cheapest nor the most expensive, they'll usually fall in the middle somewhere but they'll go the extra mile to make sure you're happy with the finished product... they were right. I was in need of flooring to get rid of carpet. My budget didn't allow me to do all the areas I wanted and this meant I had to find something that would look good with my current kitchen and bathroom floors. I worked with Joe. He did a great job of explaining my options and helping me pick the perfect vinyl floor that would look great with the current kitchen floor and fit my budget. After I received my quote Joe was thorough in explaining that the only way the quote would change would be if there was issues with flooring under the rug and we wouldn't know that until they actually are able to see the floor under the carpet. This totally made sense (he explains it better than I do). I requested a quick timeline for my floors and Joe made it happen. Ivan was my installer and he did an amazing job. Terrible experience. I went to this place for consultation because of a referral from my neighbor. Went there and talked to Sandra and scheduled an appointment for her to stop by my place for the estimate. The quote took about 2 weeks. She said she would email it to me but did not even after I contacted her few times on the phone. She's never returned the messages I had left on VM nor with a live person answering the phone. I finally decided to return the samples to the store and saw her there. No apologize at all. She handed the quote to me when I asked for it. Then said that she would email me the sales order, and guess what, it's almost two weeks and nothing. Very surprised how my experience went. I reached out to Fantastic Floors due to all of the great ratings on Yelp. I left a message for Sandra the middle of June. She did call me back within 24 hours and scheduled an appointment to come out to my house on June 17, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.. So far, so good. She did not show up and I attempted to call her around 10:30 but voicemail was full. She called back about 10 minutes later acting like she wasn't sure who I was until I asked where she was. She said she thought I was coming to her store, but then read her notes to confirm. She said she would come right away. She arrived an hour later and we had a good visit. She took measurements of my home for new carpet and then suggested I come into her store to look at different carpet styles. I scheduled this for the following day at 11:00 a.m. I arrived on time and the appointment went well. Sandra told me she would email me a quote within 2 days. Sandra also ordered carpet samples to be sent directly to my house which I was told would arrive within 3 days. On June 23rd, I texted her to inquire where the quote was. She said that she was sure she had emailed it to me but would check. She asked for my email to "be sure it had been sent to the correct email address". Surprise, I received the quote later that day. On June 29th, she emailed me to ask if I had received the samples yet. I had not. I have not heard from Sandra again. This is very surprising to me because I thought we had a great rapport. We first worked with Sandra at Fantastic Floors about a year ago, before we moved into our new house. We stopped by the store in Kirkland. Sandra was there, and although they only do appointments she agreed to let us come in and look at some ideas. We told her what we liked and she immediately found us several samples. Later on, she actually came out to our new house and helped us pick from 7 or 8 samples in each room. She helped us understand what was in stock or quickly available vs what could take longer and we were able to decide quickly. They scheduled the installation right after closing and before we moved in. The work and the price were excellent, and they accommodated our schedule perfectly. Now a year later, we found ourselves in need of some hardwood floor repairs (separate job), and we thought we'd call Sandra again and see if they could help us out. I sent her a text with a picture of the issue and she responded within about 5 minutes with an installer that could do the job right away. He then texted me, and set up the job for the next evening! I contacted Fantastic Floors through their website, which included a feature for acquiring a quote. I filled it out, and was extremely impressed to receive a phone call from Sandra the very next day! We talked about my project, and in the next few days, I had a quote in my email box. Joe, the co-owner, came out to the condo and measured the floor. He was on time, efficient, and very helpful. I then went into their store and picked out my choice of flooring, after which I got an updated quote. It was several thousand dollars more than the original quote, but I had added in more square footage to the project, so this didn't surprise me. We scheduled a date for the work to be done. On that day, three workers showed up. They arrived at the arranged time and immediately went to work. They even helped me (well actually, they did it all) put the protective covers up on the elevator...no easy task! They removed all the carpet and tile that day, and returned the next day to vacuum and clean the floor for the installers. The installers arrived several days later, as scheduled, and completed the installation one day early! They left the place in immaculate shape and best of all, the floor looked fantastic. Yes, the company lived up to their name! Another important point for me was that the company collaborated with the paint company to insure that the baseboards affected by the new floor were replaced and painted. A nice touch! read more

I was getting ready to move into a new home, and wanted to replace the old 15 year carpeting with a mixture of tile, carpet, and hardwood. I considered doing the work myself because of the ease of installing prefinished flooring products, but I decided to hire the work out because of the size of the job and so it could be finished before I moved in. I chose Fantastic Floors mainly because of the 5 star Yelp ratings. They worked with me to choose flooring types and set up a schedule for the installation. Another big perk is they're actually registered, insured, bonded. (Always check the Dept of Labor and Industries before hiring a contractor). The installation of the hardwood and carpet went smoothly (minus a weeklong delay for the carpet delivery), the wood looked so good I had them come back and do some more at the end of the project. The installers did their due diligence leveling the subfloor (the home needed A LOT of leveling). There were just minor issues that came up and Joe was easy to work with at resolving them. While I'd give them 5 stars for the wood and carpet install, I'd only give 2 stars for the tile work. I only had a small tile job done in the kitchen, but it was the worst tile install I've ever seen. There was serious lipping (unlevelness) across the tiles, some uneven grout lines, and lots of hazing left from bad cleaning. My understanding is someone may have stood on the tiles before the thinset or grout dried, causing problems. Even though they came back later and reinstalled some of the tiles, I've noticed problems still remain and although I'm sure Joe would have worked with me further to correct the issues, I ultimately ran out of the time and needed to move in. So all in all, I'd recommend these guys if you want to contract out the install of a prefinished wood floor, or carpet, but in the future I'd probably look for someone who specializes in tile if you want to have that done. read more

Fantastic Floors installed the carpet for our resident. Carpet installation itself went very well, and price was very reasonable. Other aspects of the transaction, such as follow-up and details on transition molding, were time-consuming and frustrating. The 2-man crew installed 1000 sq-ft of carpet in 8 hours. They did a great job, took care of all the carpet-related details and cleaned up. Before the install and on multiple occasions, I had brought up 2 concerns to Fantastic Floors (Matt? and Sandra) - squeaky floorboard and transition molding. They suggested that I tied down the floorboard with threaded screws and also instructed the carpet installer to do same. This part went well. The transition molding, however, was overlooked. The carpet installer said they only do carpet. That would not be as much an issue, if they had spent the time, when they came out to measure, to discuss how to handle the transition and who is to do what. It was made to sound trivial and, in hindsight, rushed through. After the carpet was installed, I talked to Sandra. She agreed to send someone out to install the molding w/out labor charge. I had to buy the molding. The crew did come back out to install the molding but it would save so much hassle if adequate planning was given upfront. Sandra worked hard to get the crew back out on the time I requested. Fantastic Floors worked to keep the customer happy. That is to their credit. Overall, I would give them a 4 1/2 stars. Good workmanship, very reasonable pricing and worked to keep customers happy. I would recommend them. If you decide to go with them, make sure to insist on planning through some of the tangential but important details, and may have to birddog them a bit so they would follow-up. read more

We found Fantastic Floors on Yelp when we were looking to replace the flooring in our newly purchased condo. I had looked at all of the big box stores for flooring, and we were going to install it ourselves before we found this place. Joe was great, and helped me choose the right hardwood floor for our condo. He came out to the condo several times, and even gave us advice on removing the old flooring. Initially my interactions with Sandra were great. Its interesting because my experience changed immediately after it was confirmed that I would be going with her company. I attempted to get a confirmation THREE times regarding when the carpet installers would be arriving on the scheduled day. After hearing an estimated time and receiving word that I would receive a confirmation, I waited and received nothing. So, I assumed that the estimated time was correct, only to get a phone call, text, email etc. letting me the know the installers were at the house that morning (much before the estimated time). SO, I rush to the rental I was having the carpet installed to let the workers in. They were great by the way. I asked the installers about the invoice as Sandra said I could give the check to the them. They said I would need to go through Sandra about the bill. Sandra sent me an email about a week or so later asking me how everything looked. After I sent her an email letting her know overall everything looked great but that there were nails that we were stepping on where the carpet meets the hard wood and asking AGAIN about the bill......(come to find out she attached it to the "how is everything with the carpet email). She did not respond!!!! For ten days!!! And when she did it was asking me to send the check. I'm not sure if it is because we were a smaller job or what, but I found her way less than "fantastic" to deal with and will certainly not use her service or refer anyone I know to her. There are so many companies out there, professionalism should be in place from start to finish, not just until the job is secured. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else. read more

We were looking for a vendor to replace the carpet in our house. We had some urgency to this quest - since we are trying to get the house ready for selling. Based on the other reviews, I contacted this vendor hoping to hire them for our project. I received a response indicating that someone will get back to me to schedule an appointment. 3 days passed by without any follow-up/response. So I contacted them again. Another 3 days have gone by - without any response. Am very surprised and disappointed by this complete lack of response. From our initial consultation with Sandra to the final finished product, I have been thoroughly impressed with Fantastic Floors! The previous home owner had dogs that were not housebroken, and after numerous attempts to clean the carpets (trying to scrub out stains on my hands and knees!) and dealing with the horrendous odor, it was time to just fully replace the carpets. I needed 3 bedrooms and a stairwell re-carpeted. Sandra came out the following Monday and measured and gave me a ball park quote on the carpeting (the highest amount for if we went with a higher end product and then the minimum of what they can do - all including previous carpet/padding removal, labor, and new carpet installation). I was happy that the price was well below our budget (based on 3 other competitors we had out before). Because of that, we went with Fantastic Floors. Sandra let me come by their showroom the next day to pick out the carpeting. I don't care for the "latest trend"...I just want something modest and durable. Luckily, the selections I made were all in stock, so Sandra was able to schedule our installation the following week, all through emails! I pleasantly surprised that she answered emails on the weekends! That's hard work! ;) The installers were here on time and finished all 3 rooms and the stairwell under 4 hours. They were quick, quiet, and professional. They did an amazing job. I checked all the corners and baseboards and found everything installed perfectly and tightly. They were very nice guys! I felt comfortable leaving them for an hour so I could run errands. They cleaned up nicely and left me a small bit of remnant, in case we needed any for future replacements/patch jobs. I have graded them in categories above to give a better idea of where they are good and where they are lacking. First, our product selection experience was great, they had everything in their showroom that I wanted to see and samples installed in different areas. Really helped to get an idea of what a finished room might look like much better than a little sample board can. They let us take home as many sample boards as we wanted to see in our home and decide what we liked. The face to face customer service of Sandra and Joe was great. Sandra was helpful and knowledgeable in helping us pick out our product and Joe was very pleasant when he came to our home to do measurements and explain the process. We received our quote and were happy with it until we noticed that they had forgotten to include the subflooring materials which increased the price by nearly 20%. They did work with us and were able to get the price down to an amount we were comfortable with. Once the job started the responsiveness from Sandra and Joe to questions and requests from me was ridiculous. I would have to reach out to them multiple times to get an answer to a questions, get a copy of an invoice and warranty information, and to schedule to have someone come fix work done incorrectly or unsatisfactory. We had LVP flooring installed so the job took about a week to do the initial install.....then the waiting came. The transition pieces that they had ordered were not the right ones so we waited an additional two weeks for them to finish that part of the job. After the initial install I noticed some areas where there were gaps between the floor trim and the LVP where you could actually see the subfloor. There were also gaps around our stone fireplace, at the entry doors and places on the stairs. They came out several times to try to fix these issues. The first time they replaced the boards where you could see the subfloor. I was happy with this fix. They came out another time and installed some transition pieces at the entry doors which I felt looked good as well. They also tried caulking around the fireplace but the color caulk they used just ended up staining the stone along the entire front of the fireplace purple (was supposed to be brown). So they took a piece of the flooring to find a better matching caulk and said they would get the stain out when they returned. A week later they came out again with a darker brown caulk and caulked around the fireplace and at the stairs. They were not able to get all the stain off the stone, but it is a little better than it was. At the stairs the caulking looked pretty good except for the stains that are now on the paint since he did not use any painters tape when he was caulking so his fingers caused prints at the sides of some of the stairs. At this point the project has taken over two months to complete which included 5 return trips to our home after the initial week install. So I am accepting the job as complete and moving on. All in all I unfortunately won't be recommending this company to others as my experience was not a good one. I hate to be the only negative review, but felt it was important to share my story. I think all of the positive reviews, however, likely indicate that my story is unusual. Bummer for me. read more
