Edit: changing my review from 1-star to 5-star b/c it turns out the dry cleaning was with my doormen the whole time. Fabulous service as always. **** Dry cleaning of jackets, coats and sweater lost. Tried reaching them via the phone (646-415-7667), email, and online request form. No response whatsoever. Went to their listed physical address at 730 Columbus Ave., it turns out to be a liquor store and an apartment building. Neither of them is aware of fancy pants cleaners. It makes me wonder if they are still open for business. To be fair, I have been using their services for 2 years now and this is the first time I really had to contact them for something lost. They have been awesome otherwise, except the lack of responsiveness this time. I will update this review when I manage to reach someone who works there. read more

I've been using Fancy Pants for W&F, laundering men's shirts, and dry cleaning for almost 3 years now. They are super convenient and offer excellent value -- cheaper than the nearby cleaners in every neighborhood I've used them so far (Harlem, Morningside Heights, and now FiDi). Not quite as cheap as a place in El Barrio I used to frequent, but that place was also cash only, and of course did not offer pickup / delivery service. Like any service, Fancy Pants is not perfect. Over the years I've had: * One pair of custom wool suit trousers completely ruined. Looks like it was put thru the wash on high heat; came back scratchy and 4 inches shorter. After sending it back for examination, we settled on $100 store credit toward future orders. * High end flannel shirts lost their brushed luster after just 1-2 washes. I suspect they did not follow my special instructions, but instead machine dried them with the rest of the normal cotton shirts. I did not complain, simply opting to hand wash such items myself from then on...IMO, it's best to leave the "special instructions" section to stain treatment & dry cleaning, rather than freeform requests. * Twice, an entire load of W&F was swapped with someone else's. Both times, they called me promptly (before I had even discovered it!) and exchanged the bag asap. * A few misc items that don't belong to me have appeared in my W&F. Nothing serious, just the occasional sock or panty. The one time it was multiple items in the same wash, I emailed them a photo, which they promptly identified and picked up within the hour. All in all, I'd call this above average. Notably, I've never lost a button off any of my shirts or jackets, nor had a sleeve or collar ripped -- usually those symptoms are par for the course with automated press machines over the long haul, unless you pay $5+ for your shirts to be hand finished, which I do not. Nor have I had any permanent stains, nor had dyes bleeding to/from other garments. Occasionally, it takes more than 1 email or voicemail to get Veronica's attention, but once we're in touch they are quite responsive. I'm happy to be an ongoing customer. read more

Unfortunately, their clear and simple pricing structure is inaccurate. It says on the website that "Wash and Fold" is $1/per pound and comforters start at $28. There are no other items stated on the pricing list, so it was fair to assume that you could wash your clothes, sheets, towels, bathmats, kitchen rags, etc. all at $1/ per pound because everything can be thrown into the washer normally. If it was not a comforter, then $1/per pound. However, this is not true. I was charged $16 for two small bathmats ($8 a piece). There is no difference between a bathmat and a large towel or sheets, in terms of weight or care. No one washes these separately from bath towels or sheets. This is dishonest and I won't use them again because I do not want to each week wonder what am I putting into my wash and fold that Fancy Pants will decide is not normal wash and fold, when it is, and then charge me double. Every wash and fold place in NYC will wash bathmats, towels, etc. whatever you want as 'wash and fold' as wash and fold. It really is too bad because the ease of convenience for scheduling is great. I hope another company comes in and does something similar, I would certainly use it. read more

Decent laundry service located outside of the core of Manhattan (the location listed here is incorrect). If things go well with the laundry delivery, then you have nothing to worry about. This happened to me once and I was happy. If they don't go according to plan, though--if they don't pick up your laundry for several days, if they miss some of the bags that you listed for them to pick up, if they miss their delivery deadline and you have no clothes to take with you on your upcoming business trip--then good luck trying to get someone on the phone or even for an apology. I absolutely love Fancy Pants. I recently moved from NJ where I had a cleaners I loved.They were excellent but very expensive. I tried cleaners in my neighborhood but they were just not really up to my standards so, I did some research and found Fancy Pants. They are an outstanding cleaners: they do exceptional work, they pick up when they say they will, deliver on time and are very responsive to questions or special requests. Plus, it is priced fairly. I am not one to write negative reviews, but have had a terrible experience with Fancy Pants. I have used them ~3 times and each time they have lost at least one item of clothing. Additionally, I've experienced numerous issues with the items that are returned, including missing buttons on multiple dress shirts. They are nearly impossible to get in touch with when an issue occurs. read more

This place is truly a zero. They don't answer emails, the phone number does not ring, the voicemail is not in English. I've used this group 25 times and it has gotten progressively work. They were great, truly. Now it's under new ownership and it's completely awful. If I had any other choice in the world, I'd use it. read more

Today, the owner dropped both Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods. I'd been asking him for the past five months to give us some promos/flyers and we would put them up in both neighborhoods for free. He kept promising but never managed that little thing. The last job we gave them also came back missing items, then damaged items. Shame, it was a great start to a bad end. read more

TERRIBLE: they charge $18 for wash and fold blankets claiming they are comforters, lose dry cleaning items with no accountability, ignore repair requests, deliver items late without contacting you or giving you a discount (almost a month in one case) - total joke. Stay away. read more

Someone recommended Fancy Pants to me so I decided to sign up and request my laundry to be picked up Thursday night. I signed up pretty late around Thursday and they were able to accommodate me and pick up my laundry an hour later. They also dropped it off the next day! The service was amazing, prompt, and I was very happy with how my clothes came back. The clothes were neatly folded, everything I sent them was returned to me, and they smelled so fresh. I also had 3 shirts dry cleaned and the shirts looked great! The price is also very reasonable. I have tried other places but some thing always gets misplaced and the service is not like Fancy Pants. I sent fancy pants a suit to be dry cleaned. I called them at 10pm for an update on my order. I didn't really think anyone would return my phone call, but 2 minutes later my call was returned, with a complete update on my order and where it is. They even offered to call me when it's checked off in their system as delivered. This business clearly has a dedication to customer satisfaction. On top of all that, my suit was perfectly dry cleaned. 5 stars on all accounts - great prices, timely delivery, and reliable. Will do business with them again very soon. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Fancy Pants Cleaners. To the customer service, especially Robert who I speak with a lot about orders and is so helpful and kind, to the ease of pick up/delivery (he is awesome too), this this by far one of the best finds I ever came across on Yelp. They are professional, my clothes are always cleaned/sorted/folded properly, and they are accommodating with any requests you may have. I currently live in Inwood and nothing there is anywhere on the level of Fancy Pants. Fancy Pants has made my life so much easier-- their service is fast, their organization is impressive (you get bags to use for your orders with a custom name tag for your name and account for free.com), their website is easy to use, they have never lost any of my clothing (which is my biggest fear with using a delivery service) and best of all, you really just cannot beat the prices-- all around they are exceptional. I will continue to use them and have already encouraged many of my friends to use them as well. Bottom line: Whatever other service you are using right now-- STOP. This is the way to go! read more

This is the best dry cleaners/laundry service I have used in NY. They pick up and deliver as scheduled and their quality is exceptional. And best of all is their customer service; they do all possible to tend to your needs, are very responsive, and will give estimates for difficult jobs. I really wanted to like this place after all the positive reviews, but was very disappointed. Things went downhill fast. I got my first dry clean order back and most of my stuff smelled like it hadn't been washed at all, and one suit coat had random staining that hadn't been there before. I sent back some of the items. The customer service was friendly and responsive and I thought my problems were solved, but then all I heard was that they couldn't get the smell out (really? I've never had this problem before with other cleaners). Finally I heard that the jackets were ready for drop off, but had to wait an extra hour after the 2-hour delivery window before my stuff arrived. They did get the smell out and the stain is pretty much gone, but evidently at the expense of the blazers, both of which seem to have shrunk a bit in places and now look pretty sloppy. So much for convenience and quality. I've never had such a dry cleaning disaster, will be going back to my old place even if it is a 15 minute walk away. read more

After endless trial and error attempts to find a good wash & fold service in Manhattan I finally stumbled upon Fancy Pants Cleaners. They are amazing! My laundry was picked up and delivered on time, folded impeccably neat, didn't smell like detergent (I opted for fragrance-free), and was just overall perfect.
