BEWARE: SCAM! I started using A-1 when my regular dry cleaner closed at the beginning of the pandemic and never re-opened. At first I was happy with the drop off, pick up, etc. But then noticed that they had charged me to dry clean a shirt - allegedly because it was rayon - despite being 100% cotton. When I called to ask I was told they noticed a stain so dry cleaned to remove the stain. Although I wasn't convinced, I decided to believe what I was being told.... until today. When I noticed that the last batch of shirts I got back included SIX that were dry cleaned rather than laundered - for which I was charged $6.50 a shirt. read more

I've been using A-1's services for 2 years and not once have I been disappointed. Beyond consistently providing spot-on service, they always meet their promised delivery dates and call with any suggestion or question. I picked up my dry cleaning today. I entered the store and it smelled like cigarette smoke. My clothes have the stench of cigarette smoke in them. This was a complete waste of money. I now have to get my clothes dry cleaned again. What type of cleaning is this? Very disappointed. read more

Easy laundry drop off service. When my daughter picked up her laundry, they said they were having trouble finding it which naturally worried her. However, she was able to identify the cloth hamper I took the clothes in for her and located the freshly laundered and nicely stacked and folded clothing. One sweater felt "starched" so if you do not want this treatment, let them know. They mentioned they will not check items in laundry before tossing in a machine so be careful you know what is getting washed before taking it to them! read more

For the first time ever, I am living in a building without laundry. "Fool!"you say as you snicker at my fate. And yes, you are right. But, A-1 has made my pain a little less painful with its convenient pick up and delivery service. In fact, I could get used to this type of treatment. So many laundry services litter the area, but what made with happy here is that they actually follow directions. I never dry my jeans and several of my blouses, so I was fearful that everything would end up in some industrial dryer on the desert blast setting and that I'd be giving my jeans away to my 8 year old cousins soon. Lo and behold, they took down my directions and neatly delivered my clothes in three separate packages: one fully dried, one washed and pressed, and another air dried. Oh and did I mentioned this was a same day deal. Now their drycleaning service did seem a little slow for my taste taking two full business days, but maybe I am just being picky. I only drycleaning things like twice a year anyway. $1 per pound with a minimum of 10 pounds for laundry. $2 per item for wash and press. I will maybe shop around, but I can't say anything bad about A-1. read more

I really really can't say enough amazing things about this place. They have been consistently great but I have to say that When I picked up my clothes I was utterly impressed. I had brought in a beloved white sweater that had a huge stain in it. I let them know to do what they could and that I did not have any expectations for it to come out. Guess what? It is now spotless and back to a brilliant white. The people work inside are always incredibly nice and accommodating, I am most definitely a loyal customer and recommend it to anyone who might live in the area. ( I moved in this area couple of months ago, and was trying to find a place where I could save some time explaining all my expectations until I found this place). read more

This place treated me like garbage despite the fact that I have been a customer on several occasions. Most laundromats pretty much don't care about customer service because they know many other customers will be in, and this place is no exception. I asked the man who regularly picks up the phone if extra care could be given to the bras in the laundry since the hooks often come back deformed. He replied "The guys in the back don't won't your laundry here. You make too many demands. You can pay for each piece separately for $6.50 each." Besides for talking to a customer horribly, who can afford to pay for each individual piece like that?? What a ridiculously stupid suggestion!! That was the last time I'm using this laundromat. I just moved to the neighborhood and tried A-1 based on the positive reviews. I had a TERRIBLE experience. Dropped off a jumpsuit, one with a couple tiny pretty insignificant stains I was hoping to get removed, which they said would be no problem. The jumpsuit came back looking fine, but then when I wore it out in the daylight it was apparent that whatever they used to remove the stain created neon white circles that glow in daylight. The cleaners refused to compensate me for ruining the jumpsuit stating: 1. They farm out the cleaning to someone else and can't take responsibility for the outsourced work. 2. They couldn't possibly compensate every customer with a problem so therefore they could only reimburse me for the cleaning (bad sign! shouldn't have so many problems!) They were horribly rude and completely apathetic to the destruction they caused. Definitely not worth it to use a cleaner who is not going to be responsible for the (lack of good) service they provide. I brought my down winter coat here last week for dry cleaning- they did a great job. All of the stains came out of my coat. The price was right, they are fast, nice, and easy to work with. Haven't tried a normal wash & dry here, but I'd imagine it's the same good quality. read more

This place is great. They are very friendly and very efficient. Everything comes back crisp and clean. I have only been here for dry-cleaning and tailoring, never wash and fold. They do close at 7pm which is a little early for me. It would be nice if they had one day a week where they were open late. read more

Received my Alice and Olivia maxi. Love it but it's way too long. Went to the store to get it tailored. Told them to cut it by 4 inches. They made extra sure that it was too much since I did the measuring myself at home. Final product is perfect! Much cheaper price than other quotes I obtained in midtown. Since the new owner took over, service has been amazing! Other dry cleaners sometimes take a week to get it done! I also like the pick up and delivery services, especially with my busy schedule! The cleaners and the gentlemen who run it are absolutely outstanding. They continue to impress me over the years with their professionalism, their kindness, and their craft. All my dry cleaned goods are returned beautifully. They also have a tailor who completely re-contrsucted the bodice of an antique dress for me. I was absolutely jaw-dropped by the quality of his work. I gave it to him thinking it was a loss but why not try, and it was returned in it's former glory which I had never seen. Sam Hop spoiled me when I lived in the west 90s, and when I moved to my current neighborhood I tried four or five different cleaners for my dress shirts without loving any of them. Then someone in my building tipped me off to A-1, and now I'm all set. My shirts are clean, well pressed, and soft--a trifecta most cleaners don't achieve. The guys in the store are super nice. I don't love the turnaround time; they prefer three business days, and if I ask for tomorrow, my order gets stamped RUSH and the shirts don't come out as well. But beyond that I'm satisfied and happy I found them. read more
