I only use organic cleaners because I have severe allergies. I had a black cashmere sweater cleaned at Broadway 89 Cleaners. When I picked up the sweater, it reeked of chemicals. This should have been a warning about their services because the sweater should not have been any chemical smell if the cleaning was organic. The clerk commented that she did not smell the pungent odor, but reluctantly agreed to clean the sweater again. After the second cleaning, I took the black sweater out of the cleaners bag and it was significantly smaller. I compared the black sweater to 2 other sweaters in my closet that are of the same size and manufacturer and it was significantly smaller. The black sweater should have been larger because it was an oversized version.I understand that mistakes can happen, so I took all three sweaters to the cleaners. Upon my arrival at the cleaners, the clerk was belligerent and refused to look at the other sweaters. She attributed any variation in sizes to the difference in sweater styles. As the pictures below clearly illustrate, the black sweater is significantly smaller. The clerk insisted that Broadway 89 Cleaners was not responsible and insisted that I go to the cleaners that actually does the cleaning. I went to the other cleaners and they refused any responsibility because my contract was with the cleaners issuing the ticket. I went back to Broadway 89 Cleaners and once again the clerk was rude and declared that there was no way the sweater could have shrunk! As a consolation, she begrudgingly offered to sent the sweater out be stretched. Furthermore, I was instructed not to return to the cleaners because I was difficult and she could not be bothered. Broadway 89 Cleaners ruins my cashmere sweater and I am the nuisance! Given the service that I had received, there was absolutely no way that I was trust Broadway 89 Cleaners to repair my sweater since it was not faulty to them and I was the only problem. Use this cleaners at your own risk because they are incredibly rude and absolutely refuse to assume any responsibility for their mistakes! read more
