This place used to be great but has really gone downhill. They always want to remove a set to put on a new one, and I feel like I always get the newer people. The last 3 sets have been horrible and I picked them off within a week. I get pink and white and the quality was horrible, you can see white streaks where the pink should be and the gel flakes off within days. Kind of a bummer. I will say the man who works there (I believe he's the owner) has always done a phenomenal job, but he hasn't been there the last 5-10 times I've been in. If I go back I'd want an appointment with him. I don't mind paying more for a great set of nails, but I've left disappointed more often then not lately. read more

I just had my first visit to Fancy Nails and loved it! Kym did a great job with my pedicure, my toes look so pretty and ready for Christmas! The service was great, salon was very clean and comfortable and the parafin wax and hot stone massage was to die for! Great way to relax, I will definitely be back. read more

I never was a woman who got my nails done, but I slammed my thumb in the car door and it was bruised and terrible! I had to fix it! Luckily, I found Jennifer at Fancy Nails and have now been a repeat customer every 2-3 weeks for almost a year!!! She is wonderful, sweet, and a perfectionist with her work! I do not recommend Fancy Nails to anyone. My daughter had gone a few times with her friend to have nails put on and would return a few weeks later to have them removed. This past time was a terrible experience. The few times she had been before her nails were soaked to help in removing the fake nails and this was completed with no problem. She recently made another visit with her friend to have her fake nails removed and she came home crying because she was in so much pain. The lady did not soak her nails as before and used a tool to scrape and pop the fake nails off. My daughter had a hole in the middle of her fingernail which revealed the skin underneath her fingernail. We had to keep medicine on it and wrap it until it healed. Service and communication is extremely below average and we will never return or recommend this establishment. read more

I have been going to this place for over a year, and I finally came to my senses, and with the help of my husband who has continually asked me why I come to this establishment when I am never satisfied, and decided to abandon this establishment. There are so many reasons, I'm not sure where to start. First, this place is a nail mill. It seems they go through new technicians every 6 months, aside from one or two girls. Second, they rush through your treatment. My acrylics would start lifting or popping off a week and sometimes days after getting them applied. Another thing is that gel polish should last at least 2 weeks. That NEVER happened with me. It would start lifting 2 days after getting them done. The technicians don't take their time, and you can tell when the workmanship is shoddy. I went in a couple days after getting a gel manicure to tell them that I needed it done again because of the lifting, and they charged me. I couldn't believe it. They sell gift certificates but the remainder can't be used for tip, which is frustrating when you have just enough on a gift certificate and they won't give you change for the $5 and you can't use the remainder for the tip. Poor business practice, in my opinion. I had the owner tell me once that my acrylic popped off because of the polish I chose. Yeah....I don't think so. Take some responsibility and treat your customers well. My cuticle has been burned on numerous occasions with the rotating file they use, and when I wince in pain, I'm told it because I'm not holding my hand in the right position. The technicians are constantly talking on their cell phones using their ear buds, which, in my opinion, shows a lack of care and consideration for their clients. I've found another place in town where, surprisingly, my gel manicure is going on 2 weeks and it still looks great. Avoid this place!! There are better choices in town. read more

I went here for an upper lip waxing which I have been doing (at various establishments) for several years every few months. My experience was so poor I've decided to start waxing myself rather than risk a situation like this again. I walked in and was greeted nicely, and then quickly ushered into the back room. What followed was the most rushed, disturbing lip waxing I've had. The wax felt too hot and was painful, but worst of all, she waxed an area I did not want her to wax and ended up with a huge, painful, itchy rash on my face. I pointed very clearly to my upper and lower lip, she acted like she understood, and then proceeded to slather wax all over my chin and neck before I knew what was happening. I told her that's not what I wanted, and she just kept going with applying the cloth and ripping it immediately off. When I protested again it was clear she had absolutely no understanding of what I was saying and just kept saying "it's ok it's ok" like I was complaining about the pain I guess? She finally turned her attention to my lip, where she did a super rushed job that removed hardly any hair. I pointed this out to her, and she just started plucking the hairs out one by one. I pay to get waxed because plucking hurts more! An hour or so afterwards, I was sitting at work with an itchy, painful chin and neck covered in pink bumps and sores. A day later and I am still in pain. I highly doubt that any place that rushes along like this with little to no thought to client experience actually takes time to follow relevant health codes, and I am so worried that the rash on my face and neck is going to get worse and may be an infection. Salons perform services that draw blood- removing cuticles, waxing, plucking. I am never again going to skimp on these services and never going to a place like this again. I only wish I had spoken up more in the moment, but honestly I was just kind of stunned and hoping it would not turn out so bad. I completely understand if there is a language barrier and do not judge anyone for that, but if you are going to be pouring hot wax on people you should be clear on what they are asking you to do! Not only that, but you should not rush along so quickly that 1) you are not even removing most hairs and 2) you cause unnecessary pain and a rash! I am crossing my fingers my skin is just irritated and I don't have some scary infection. If the latter ends up happening I will be contacting them. p.s. And I've come here one other time for a manicure, and the woman filed a hole into the tip of my finger that was really painful and lingered for days afterwards. Never again! read more

I have tried this place 4 times. Every time is worse than the last. Each time I choose the same service and it is done differently every time. And nobody speaks English. It is so frustrating and hard to communicate what you want done. This time I added on a scrub for $5. The tiniest amount was barely rubbed on to my legs for about 2 seconds then sprayed off with scalding hot water. Then she "massaged" my legs for 2 more seconds with limp hands. Also, this person was on her cell phone talking most of the time she was doing my pedicure. When I asked why I didn't get an actual massage she said I didn't pay for it (now she speaks English). She said you need to buy the more expensive package for longer massage...but all packages clearly say they all provide massage with lotion (there are NO time limits listed in each package. They were able to tell I was not happy, so then another lady comes over and starts going on Nd on about the packages...I told her the different times should be listed but she just kept talking over me then kept leaning on me. I asked her to stop touching me and she just kept talking super close to me. I had to actually put up my hand and tell her to stop. Also, during this a woman came in to complain about her nails and was told they couldn't help her so she left pissed off too. This place is so disappointing. read more

I've gone here quite a few times to give them a fair chance and every time they seem rushed to get my nails done and making mistakes in the process. Today I went in for a gel manicure and Kim was the one who helped me. I had a picture of a very simple design I wanted and showed it to her. However, the end result couldn't have been farther from the picture. She didn't even use one of the colors I asked for and did not understand me when I mentioned this to her. The design, a simple heart is rough and looks like I had my niece paint my nails for me. After the manicure was done I noticed that one of my nails was missing polish on a large chunk of it. When I pointed this out to Kim she just filed the spot and then asked if she had fixed it. She finally painted it after I very frustratingly said no, it needs to be painted. She left nail polish all over my fingers and the massage at the end with the lotion was nonexistent, leaving my hands feeling very dry from the UV light used for the gel polish. I gave it 3 attempts and the last one was the worst. Ive held submitting this for a bit because I feel bad but my nails are becoming worse and worse. My experience was going in for a pedicure and being offered a manicure (gel). I declined but she assured me it would be quicker than the pedicure as I shared that I had a flight to catch. The pedicure finished and the woman was still filing my fingernails. With the roughest grade file. She made my nails so thin and sensitive that they are like paper. She clipped them so low the quick was showing. As I sat and waited for her to finish, also tellng her I had a flight to catch, I heard a woman across the way tell her beautician that she was hurting her. That woman laughed as the woman explained that no, it wasnt a joke, she was hurting her. I had to leave and the woman applied lotion to one arm. It was very bizarre. The woman that assured me I would be out in the time quoted apologized and asked me back the next day....but I had specified that I needed to leave as I was leaving town. Sadly, I will never go back. I only write this negative yelp review because what they did has caused me constant pain for about two weeks now. My nails keep snagging and ripping low and painful due to the very gritty file used to rough the nail up for gels. She nearly hit skin on the top of my nail. Okay first off I never give reviews but this place needs one! If I could give them zero stars I would! My mom and I always go and get our nails done at Felton nails but they recently got a new owner and it's not the same so we wanted to try somewhere new. I had a friend recommended fancy nails and so I thought I would try it. We both got pedis and gel manis. During the pedi, the nail technician didn't pay attention to what she was doing(she was too busy talking). I was tense the whole time because she was way too rough! And then when I got my mani the technician poked under neath my nail really hard and when lotioning my hands it started to burn...never had that happen ever before! She didn't want to do any design so I just did color to make it easy but wanting an accent nail was also a hassle but I wouldn't let her do with out. She didn't file down the sides or tip of my nails after the manicure to get off the excess! My fingers now hurt and my nails look like shit!!!! I will never go there again nor will I ever recommend them! read more

Three of my friends and i went to fancy nails to get our nails done for a party. 2/4 nails were good. One of my friend got gel nails and they were good and my other friend got ombré pink acrylics and her nails were very pretty but her coffin shape was a bit too pointy. While i was getting my nails done i noticed the woman was mostly just filing my nails and i had asked for coffin so i assumes she was just slimming them a bit but i couldn't tell what she was doing by the way she held my hand. it wasn't until she lifted my hand and said "thinner?" that's everything went down hill. I told her no because they had already beef pretty thin and i was already kinda disappointed with my shape. She proceeded to file my nails so at the end when i can actually get a good look i am extremely disappointed with what i got. My nails are extremely uneven and too thin for the short coffin look. For my last friend she had a picture of a pretty pastel yellow she had wanted and the nail artist said she could do it. She was getting a fill so her shape was saved but her color was so bad. The woman said she could paint white under the neon yellow to make pastel so my friend went with it and got highlighter fingers and she was also very disappointed with how her nails turned out. This trip to Fancy Nails was a big waste of money and me and my friends will not be returning. read more

I was a regular client here years ago. I stopped going after the owners daughter no longer was available and also to give my nails a break. I went in on Saturday with my 5 year old daughter. This was her first time having her nails done professionally and I thought she would love it. I asked for a mani/pedi for her and a new set for myself. We were there for almost 2 hours, which is a long time for a 5 year old. But she did great. Overall I was very disappointed with the service we received. After two hours my daughters nails were still wet. The nail polish was to old and would not dry properly. I asked them while we were still there if they could fix it please ? They said it was my daughters fault and she was messing them up. The lady fixed two toes and said to have her sit under the fan. We did so then left for lunch. I showed my husband and all did was touch the nail and the polish came right off. He stated I could have done better. I was charged $30 plus I gave her a$5 tip. Of course we went back. I asked husband to go in thinking they would not argue with him. And they did not. He called and asked me to stay with her while they fixed them so he could take our 9 year old son home. I did so. The lady was not so nice to me. She fixed her nails, using a different polish. She did a very rushed job and continued to tell me my daughter was not keeping her hands open and straight. Once finished she directed us to the fan again. Once my daughter sat down the lady returned to her customer she looks over to and says" you make sure she dimes them up again. She do I no fix again ". Then turns to her customer and starts to comply, " I fix this this girls nails 3 times, no do again". I was so frustrated and offend. I did want to argue with this woman in front of my daughter. So we left. On top of this I payed $40 dollars for my nails plus a $5 tip. My nails are horrible. She did not file them down all way. There are sharp edges. She left gel polish and glue all over my hands. She did not cut down my cuticles so there is s big gap from the top of my nail to where the acrylic starts. Over all disappointing. And to be insulin top of this. I will never return and I will also share this with my friends and family that go to this salon. I understand there is a language barrier, but common courtesy and kindness to your customers should be automatic. I could go on and on about how unhappy I was but will stop here. read more

The pedicure was pretty much just soaking my feet, and painting my nails. . . the French Manicure (Gel) was often times painful and gel was left under my nails and cuticles. My total bill was 52.00. . . I added 10.00 for a tip, knowing I would never go back. Much to my surprise, when I looked at my bank transactions today, these ladies added an additional 10.00 to the charge, after I left the establishment. They turned my 20% tip into a 40% tip. And probably the worst pedi-mani I have ever had in my life. read more

I did not have a good experience. I was seated for a pedicure right away but the water was cold when they finally started. My old gel polish was removed by leaving the substance on for too long and an electric file was used on my finger nails and one toe nail (now painful). I was there 21/2 hours and my bill with the 20% discount was over $50, ( more than I pay elsewhere) read more

This was my second time going in to get my nails done and I have never been so disappointed! They did acrylics while getting a gel pedicure not at the table. The gal that did my pedicure did not even massage my legs at all... I asked for square shape on my nails and they did round, the filing was uneven, and the polish was uneven thick and lumpy. I left the salon directly to my car and had to manicure my own nails to make them look "" presentable. I should not have to do this after paying over $100 to get this done! I came in at the end of the day but I did call and specify what I wanted and they told me to come in and they would take care of it it was no problem at all, the professional thing to do would have been to say no we don't have time to do that the best thing is to come in another day so we can really do our best job!! My girlfriend and I were the only ones in there, and it was very obviously convenient that we were being trashed talked the whole time and we both felt extremely uncomfortable. read more

This was my first time here and during the pedicure I was hoping the gal would rub my feet just once but she didn't. I will say she did a great job of scrubbing them with the scrubber however when it came time for the so looked forward to massage, she basically stroked my shins for a good 5 minutes but her hands never touched the bottoms of my feet. She was pretty rough and the results were not spectacular either. One more thing I thought odd. She guided me to the front drying section and immediately told me the total. The odd part was that she basically hovered over me as I dug through my purse for the money while in my head I was frantically calculating the total including tip. I had gotten an added manicure plus $5 to buff my nails so I was deciding on a tip for each of the ladies. After I left I hoped she gave the other gal the correct tip. I tipped each 20% as I do wherever I go but I won't be back. I will say the place was clean and glad they could take me on a walk in but I felt the treatment wasn't great. read more
