I am a woman of color and I brought my daughter there to have the experience of getting her nails and feet done and it was a bad experience. The manager was so busy trying to see what her other employees was doing to other customers that she neglected our service and she rushed. The service gave me a gave me a rush service for dip, nails, nails, uneven, but all she cared about was making sure that when we paid we paid a gratuity for the service did not if you wanted to pay for a gratuity just added it into the bill as we did not know about how nail shops operating man paying for good service but I believe that she knew that she was not serving us well and that's why when we got to the cash register she made sure that she added in the gratuity. I wish I would have went with my first mind and gone to my normal pedicure nail salons. This is theeee worst pedicure I ever had. I asked for tips on my two toes and after the lady tries to talk me out of it. The guy who sits in the first chair came down and slapped acrylic on my toes no tip no nothing. I asked for them to be a little longer and this is what I got. The lady who painted my nails had NO CLUE what she was doing. Went there for a pedicure she had an attitude of me walking up to her I said good morning how are you she did not acknowledge me. She took the shark instrument and dug in my nail and she cut me so bad that I bled. Make a long story short she end up calling the cops on me because I changed my foot and said that you hurt me the cops on me. Because I took a picture of all the blood and the cut on my feet. When the cops got there she saw my foot and she felt so bad she couldn't even look at it. I took a chance on this place hoping it wasn't as bad as the reviews! Well the reviews are spot on! My pedicure was terrible my feet don't feel any different than when I arrived. My nails are barely polished on the sides and the clear coat is on 1/3 of my nails. The pic shows the thumb, but it's literally every nail. It was fairly late so I wasn't able to see all of this mishaps until now! My cuticles were cut! I was bleeding. I'm extremely disappointed! Don't waste your time! So I never liked this salon, don't know why I went back there with a friend. First they told me they couldn't do my dip with a tip on, which I always get done at my regular salon. I just got my nails done Friday and the dip and clear is already coming off. One of my nails cracked so easily today at work, so I went to get it fixed... and they of course were talking smack in their language to one another, anyway she fixed my nail for free, but there's glitter in the dip now because she used a dirty brush to dust my nail off. Not to mention they act like their atm machine doesn't charge, and that they pay for it, and then blame my bank for the charge. Never going again should have known better. Rude employees. And not fully knowledgeable. Second don't comment back on my review with more attitude, your shop and talent sucks. If you couldn't do what I was asking you to do then you should have said that. Not until THE SECOND time I came in did you say "i shouldn't do the dip with only a tip." My regular shop does this for me all the time. Your work is sloppy. I've had my nails a week, near my cuticle is a mess and now i have another broken nail. I should come in and have you take them off for a refund, PERIOD. And your work? The nail you fixed is all glittery from the dirty brush you used. So yeah you didn't fix anything, which I told you as well. read more

This USED to be my go-to place to get my nails done.... KEY WORDS are USED TO!! After having the manager do my mani and waxing one week, I noticed a horrible waxing job, and left with a manicure that I didn't even pick out the color for... I DID pick out a color, but she told me that I would like what she did better. I told her I didn't like it with the glitter... she told me it looked good. I insisted that I didn't like it, but was forced to pay for the claws that were a cm up from my nail bed! THAT THICK! I came in 2 weeks later for a fill and NEW COLOR!! I wore a headband for a better wax job. I did everything in my power to help make this right! After practically pleading her to wax where I wanted, she argued with me. I'm paying... I should get what I want and when I drop as much as I do, I shouldn't have to beg. Just do your job! This new mani chipped after one day. I called fancy nails on my break at work. I work until 7 pm. The man on the phone said it was ok to come back "today" or "tomorrow". When I told him I got off work at 7, he told me they closed at 8pm... I'm thinking, "ok if my boss lets me out early tomorrow, I can get there by 730". So I asked work if I could leave a little early. I got to fancy nails at 7:27pm. I saw the lights were out and noticed the manager who did my nails leaving the parking lot. She looked me in the eyes and proceeded to leave. Cut to today.... I have been going to this place for many years, but no more. Went today and got a pedicure with my friend. The owner did the pedicure. I kept telling her it hurt but she kept going. Now my heels are raw and I can't wear anything on my feet because it hurts so much. My toes were bleeding and she kept wiping it off so I couldn't see it, but I did. It was a just a totally painful experience. I'm a diabetic and do not need any foot problems. I guess I should learn to speak Vietnamese to get my point across. Very sad, because I really liked going there. I have brought many people in there, plus purchased gift certificates, so they lost a good customer. for my first time experience in this place horrible the lady said 30$ pedicure no chip mind you i did not want lotions or anything and the guy up and charged me $45 when she said $30 and it was $35 for my no chip manicure which is fine total paying $80 and 3 hours later im out they dont even offer water which is now a common curtesy in most salons but i wanted to stay local but next time ill take the drive to orland park this place is awful no personal space the spa chairs for pedicure are literally next to each other because they want to cram 3 chairs to fit more people to soak their feet in for 30-40 min before someone comes to attend you. i will not be coming back i wasted a whole ass 3 hours incredible. i know i was up charge because he heard me complain about how long its been and since im pretty sure he knew i would not leave tip he charged $20 extra you dont even deserve a one star read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a nail salon. Witnesses a tech yell at a client multiple times. During my pedicure the tech looked at me and said "you obviously haven't had a pedicure in a while". Very inappropriate. She also flew through the pedicure and was finished in about 15 minutes. While sitting and letting my toes dry under the dryer another tech came up to me and said "okay you can leave now". I was so confused with the entire situation... I've never ever experienced something so uncomfortable. With all that being said, I will never be giving them any more of my money. I shouldn't even have paid in the first place!!! I got a full set of acrylic nails, it took 45 minutes. Very nice people, fast service, nice inside, clean, but the lady was very rough. My nails were bleeding and my skin is peeling a little bit. They still hurt a little bit after 3 days. After I got back from washing my hands she saw them bleeding and wiped them away like it was nothing and didn't say sorry or ask if I was okay. But other than that, she payed attention to what I was saying and she helped me pick out colors from the picture I showed her. If you want to get a different shape then it's 5 dollars. All together I paid 35 dollars. I would go again and would recommend you to go to. read more

I was here Friday this past week, I went during my lunch hour and needed to get my nails updated the lady in chair number 2 really sucks, she is mean spirited. I asked her not to change my nail shape she ignored. When I asked the owner how much a style or length would be, she told me I'm always trying to bargain her. She forcibly maneuvered my hands the entire time and terrible customer service. Where do I start?! Ok, so I walk in and I'm immediately asked how can I be helped. That's good thing number 1: I hate a nail / hair salon that doesn't acknowledge your presence right away. If I'm a paying customer you need to hurry up and help me. 2: I didn't have to wait long before being worked on. I didn't wait more than five minutes before the guy was gonna do my nails came up and started talking and asked me what I'd like done and what color I chose (I picked two and couldn't decide and he picked the best color for me which turned out great!) 3: They are clean! Now I have to go somewhere else and get my nails redone. I'm very dissatisfied. Their treatment of me was terrible (guy walked away while doing my nails to work on someone else's feet without any word to me on what was going on). If I could give this place a zero I would. No, it will not be just a minute wait, as they say. You will be sat in a pedicure chair for an HOUR in lukewarm water and be ignored. Then once you're helped, if you make any specifications such as "DO NOOOOOT use the nail file"(because the last time I was there, they used the nail file and I couldn't wear socks for a week and had to take ibuprofen the whole time because they filed me down till I bled. My toes have been sensitive since!), you will be ignored. Then when you repeat yourself, you will get a giggle and they will keep doing it. I literally had to grab the nail file from this woman's hand. Then the female owner will come over and stare you down and then talk in their language then laugh at you. Long story short, I will NEVER go there again. It was nice and convenient in high school but now that I know my nail salons, I will not come back here again and will never say a good thing to anyone about it. This place is hit-or-miss with the service. I've been here before with no issues, and another time when it was just okay (the guy laid the polish on too thick and it was rather sloppy). But I went there this past weekend because their no-chip mani is only $25 (vs. $35 at the other salons I go to.) BIG MISTAKE. The guy didn't even soak my hands to take the polish off or to push/nip the cuticles. Worst of all, he thinned out my nails using the high-speed grinder to completely take off the no-chip polish. Now my nails bend when I push down on them and they feel rather sharp. Afterwards, I noticed a big difference in the nail strength when I was shampooing my hair. After that experience, I'd rather go elsewhere for a mani. And I likely shouldn't be getting a no-chip mani for a while until the thinned out nails fully grow out. read more

This place is great, ONLY if KEVIN is your technician. I've been coming to fancy nails for years. I've pretty much gone through every nail technician. They we're average but KEVIN really takes his time and is very gentle. My mom, who is super sensitive and thus EXTREMELY picky, only will see Kevin. I had my doubts at first because of the mediocre mani and pedi's I've had here and he is just THE BEST! I never feel rushed and puts much attention to detail. I have ingrowns and the tiniest toe nails and most people get polish all over my skin, leave my nails too long, don't get the ingrowns out even make me bleed. Kevin just gets it! He's also very personable and remembers small details and actually makes conversation. We will only ser Kevin. read more

I've been coming here since the day of inception. I understand that not everybody has good reviews for this that or the other, but I can only speak on my many bi-weekly visits for the last decade. Working in a predominantly and prominent leading customer serviced industry, I've learned to not expect to be treated as you would treat others yourself, but I myself continue practicing the golden rule of "treating others as you yourself would want to be treated". You really can't assume why another is treating you the way they are, so for that, it is what it is. I've been spoiled by the service I receive at Fancy Nails, especially from "Lee". Every patrons level of sensitivity is going to be different so if you're new, and you find your tech a little heavy handed, it's just a matter of "letting them know", just like you would if you went to get a massage. Yes it's too bad that we don't fill out a mini questionnaire as to how we prefer our mani/pedi so our nail techs would know before hand, but then again they can't assume. So let em know...remember, "a closed mouth never gets fed". Yes in the beginning I had complained that that rotating drill was so uncomfortable that it felt like my nails were burning off. Ever since then, Lee utilized that frightening utensil with pressure much slower and lighter, just an example. Yes I've tried the other techs, Kevin, Kelly, Mama and yes even Katie. All very well skilled, but so appreciative that Lee "gets it" or should I say "gets me"! And that feeling I get when he announces that the family is going on vacation, oh boy gives me such anxiety ,lol. I will always be grateful however, and more importantly never forget how they, Lee and Brian agreed to come to Ingalls hospital back in 2008 the day before I had open-heart surgery after a heart attack. Dr. had instructed that nail polish needed to be removed in order to monitor blood flow under my nails. Mind you yes it was a "no chip", so not having their tools, they had to scrub the polish off, the hard way. ouch!!! But that was ok, because hosp. folks thought I was some rock star getting special treatment. In the past decade or so of visits, I've only used 2 OPI colors, "Lincoln Park After Dark" and "Funny Bunny", and for that I have been called "BORING". Been to 2 other nail places in the area for Pedicures. They will put excellent designs on you big toes no matter which person does it. Sometimes it does cost an additional $5. I have great treatment there even when busy and you have to wait there is plenty of polish options available. I am also the type that tries to get as much out of a pedicure as I can and will go 2 months without coming in. I have had pedicures last that long with out looking bad from here. read more

I was sickened when the woman doing my pedicure used a foot scrub and brush from her drawer then returned it back to her drawer when finishing my feet! I also enjoy when I receive a good foot/lower leg rub post pedi, but only lotion was gently applied....The service was nothing special either, I had to carry my belongings and shoes over to get a mani (I'm also 7 months pregnant). Then my nails were filed, lotion was applied gently again to my hands and I was instructed to go wash my hands which left them feeling dry after I washed the lotion off. To top it all off I was waiting for my nails to dry entirely and it was a few minutes after close they turned off all the lights and tvs and told me my nails are dry.
