I grew my hair out for 5 years. No trims. No cuts. No anything in between. I can't emphasize enough how much I love having long hair. I grew it out extremely long so that after I donated it, my hair would still be long enough for me to feel comfortable. The minimum requirement to donate hair is 10 inches. I asked the woman cutting my hair to cut off 12. First of all, she measured with her hand, not a ruler (don't know too many people that do that). Second of all, she ended up cutting off 18 inches of my hair just for the donation (she still needed to cut off more to make it even). By the time she was done with me, my hair was slightly passed my shoulders instead of mid back like it was supposed to be. I basically paid $10 for someone to ruin all the time I invested into growing out my hair. I will probably grow out my hair again for another 5 years, and trust me, I don't plan on coming back here when that 5 years is up. It's a great place for guys to get a hair cut but girls, beware. read more

I don't get my hair cut too often because of precious experiences but I LOVE this place! There's one lady all the way at the end who's done my hair 3 times before and I've left extremely happy. I have very thick and curly hair and she handled it amazingly. I was here 3 years prior and she remembered me and knew exactly how to cut my layers and helped me choose a color to dye it. Their price is cheaper than other places so you get what you pay for. You pay for a color that you didn't ask for and have the stylist make you comeback after a month to overcharge the original price and still manage to get it wrong! All the more, you waste your precious time waiting around and when they wash/tint your hair? You're sitting there thinking that the amount of pulling and tugging that they're doing...is there any hair left in your head? Or did she manage to pull them all out!!! WORST PLACE!!!!!!!!!! Went for highlights and ended up with 5 different colors in my hair. And then the manager lady(Davy who did my hair)tried to blame it on me! Between answering phones, juggling 4 peoples hair at the same time, and giving change to employees how could she pay attention to what she was doing. Paid 75 for her to mess up my hair, 4 hours in a salon to dye it brown to cover up the atrocious "highlights". I even got home and had hair dye all over my ear and sides...very unprofessional. My friends go to this place for their haircuts, so I decided to try them. Since I live in Mira Loma, and did not want to have to drive back, I went right after work since my workplace is in Paramount. I waited outside until they opened at 1000. It was well worth the wait. Davi was the one who cut my hair and she was very good at it. It is true everyone does try to talk to their customers, but then they revert to speaking in their own language. I am Asian myself but they do not speak the same language I speak. I am not at all uncomfortable in this kind of situation. I do not have insecurities that I have to constantly know what everyone around me or within my hearing is saying. Everyone at this place is very polite. It is a hit or miss for male customers. I have been coming her for 6 months. The first few months, I have always get the younger lady, Melissa, to cut my hair and she has been superb. She takes her time and gentle with the buzzer. She blows off the excess hair from my face so it won't itch and gave me a shave using the electric shaver. I always leave feeling happy with my haircut. The last 2 times, I was helped my an older Cambodian lady. She was very rough with the buzzer and actually hit me with the cord a few times as she walks around to the other side. It was an accident but come on, as a professional, she should know how to handle her tools. She never blows off the excess hair so I end up walking out with hair in my ears, on my forehead and clothes. This place is convenient so I am going to be aggressive next time and will wait to get my hair cut from my original stylist and hopefully express my complaint to the owner which I believe is the one handling the phone all the time. read more

So I have been coming here since I was a kid, and so has my mother. We used to only go to Kay who did a beautiful job, but unfortunately moved to Colorado, so instead we just go to whatever stylist is open. In the most recent years of my style evolution, I have really been into 60´s type hair (little to no layers, usually mid length with front bangs.) The last time I went in, I showed the woman multiple picture showing how I wanted my hair. I had just bleached my hair, and dyed it gray so I wanted two inches off, and she said she could do it, as she is cutting my hair I noticed how much was falling on the floor, and after, I had hair to my shoulders, with layers! Years ago I would swear I would never let a girl cut my hair. So I always went to gay men. I was faithful to "Vicky" off of 7th street forever until I think he moved to Bakersfield and never found him again. So about 2 or 3 years ago (or maybe even more) I was told that the ladies at Fancy Cut were pretty good. For $10, it was worth a shot. Since then I love going to Davy! As my mom would say, she has "good hands"which means your hair will grow when she cuts it. In my family, we believe that if a stylist doesn't have "good hands" they can kill your hair, will become dull, take forever to grow or may not grow to the way it used to be. Call it superstition, but with Davy there's no need to worry about that! She's good, but it also means she's always very busy and gets booked all the time. Simple trim or cut for $10. No wash or styling and I'm good to go within 15 minutes. The other girls here are good too, but Davy is my favorite! Granted I have straight hair with some layers. Nothing fancy or high maintenance. This is my go to place to get a haircut. It's $10 for a very nice women's haircut. You are not going to find that anywhere else. Also the ladies that work there are so friendly and great at what they do. I would recommend this place to friends and family. I am so sad after coming here. I had not had a haircut for about a year for my hair to grow out and my hair was long and full. I came here because my mother recommended it but we both left sad. Yes the hair cut is 10$ but you definitely get what you pay for. The stylist left my hair horrible. I asked for layers on my hair and what I got was uneven layers and the bottom layer looks like a rat tail. I left disappointed after my full grown hair was cut to almost nothing. I would not recommend this place, walking I saw the hair of all the stylists and their own hair was kinda scary. I should have walked out that second. How are they supposed to cut hair if their own hair is not well done? Anyways, lesson learned and I'm hoping my hair grows out fast. read more

I have been taking my family for the past 10 years and my sister and all her family also goes to Fancy Cuts. Last week I went in at last min and the Owner took care of me right away. i did not have to wait long. I told her what I wanted done and she did just as I asked. I us to have problems with other salons over cutting my hair and the color was not what I wanted, a big mess. That is how I ended up going to Fancy Cuts. Amazing group of Ladies that know what they are doing. They are great with kids also just to add they make you feel right at home. I highly recommenced anyone to start taking their family to start building a bond with them so when your kids grow up they can start taking their children also.
