    Famous Hash 5 stars

We came here for brunch on a chilly Sunday morning. Our party of six was seated quickly. Our orders were taken and the drinks came out. Some in our party had Bloody Mary's. The issues started when another of our party tasted the Bloody Mary and decided that he wanted one as well. We ordered the additional one before the food came out. We did not receive it until we were almost done eating. BUT!!! The food was delicious! I had the Famous Hash and my husband had the three egg breakfast. I think everyone enjoyed their food. If it had ended here, I would have left four stars. However, one of our party called us the next day to ask how much our bill was. Their card had been charged our amount AND their amount. I double checked and there was no charge on our credit card. The waitress ran the cards at the table, in front of us, so I'm really not sure how this happened. As opposed to fighting with the credit card company or staying on hold for hours, I just venmo'd my aunt the money. So overall, a very mediocre experience. Not sure I'll return even though it was fun to watch the ducks in pond through the window.

This is a chain breakfast place located around the university area. There's plenty of shared parking in the shared parking lot. The view is very scenic if you get a chance to sit along the man-made lake, the music is definitely hip-hop and R&B inspired. The food was good. I asked for over medium eggs and got over hard. Nothing was recommended. Service was nice. The place was clean.

We were seated quickly and menus provided. One server greeted us and we just ordered water. It took awhile for another server to return for our food order. I ordered the protein quinoa bowl with crispy bacon as my meat choice. Everything arrived as ordered and I was pleasantly surprised at the speed. I'd return for another meal. It's a very laid back restaurant.

First time at this location. I had the avocado Benedict and it was delicious. Wonderful flavor. Our Bookclub met here. Service was great. I'll be back!

We arrived with the baby stroller and it was very wheelchair accessible!! I ordered strawberry stuffed pancakes, and it was regular sliced toasted bread with strawberry cream cheese. I was very disappointed. I did like my turkey bacon and eggs. I believe folks come here because it's a good vibe to "meet". The food is average. Staff friendly. Return rate is a maybe.

We sat out on the patio on a weekday morning. Very quick service. The server was nice with prompt refills. Nice views from the patio of the lake! The space was perfect for a quick business meeting. The server checked on us frequently Food was a little cold but was very tasty! We would return again, love the boardwalk location.

    Hollandaise sauce - Toastery Bowl

We had the famous toastery bowl and it was tasty and filling! We tried one with hollandaise sauce and one with the sausage gravy, both were equally delicious! You can't go wrong! The vibe is great, the location is really nice. We fed the ducks while waiting for our table and that was relaxing. We had good service. The only issue is there are 2 unisex bathrooms and if you use one the entire time different people will try to open the door! Talk about anxiety!!!! Men and women. Please put an "occupied" lock so people will know not to try the door handle! Still a five stars.... But sheesh!

I come here regularly and have taken a lot of friends. The food is really good I always get the potatoes with whatever I order they're just too good. Service is usually good for how busy it is not always the fastest but they are always nice. The inside is pretty spacious and the windows look out to the pond in the back. Would recommend if you like breakfast food.

The waitress was nice, friendly and attentive. The place looked nice with the water views helps too & it waa clean although the shapes of the seats was interesting. On a busy day it wasn't too loud which was great. I felt my waffle wasn't bad I wish it was more crispy but good. My omelet lacked flavor even with sausage and peppers but add salt and pepper to it, to give it something same for the grits. Overall I would come back and try something else.

I'm LATE on this review but, I just visited Famous Toastery for the first time today. I enjoyed my meal + mimosas on an impromptu Sunday brunch after church. Food here is nothing fancy - just straight comfort breakfast items and the classics: Eggs, toast, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, grits etc. No frills or fluff - it'll be hot breakfast items hot off the pan and pretty much everything I tasted was good. They have breakfast cocktails like mimosas and bloody Mary's - both of which were good. I had the breakfast bowl and it was hot and tasty. I believe all the locations usually have a hefty line on Sundays so plan accordingly. I will likely return!

Limited space for 15 people gave us enough space for 10.

The service did a great job and management did a bad job of give us enough space for 15 people. Food was slow coming out and unorganized. But good friendly service made a difference.

    Absolutely delicious!!!

Thanks for the good service. And hope to come back and partake again. The fruit was fresh!

Overall the fruit was amazing and fresh though, just a bit impractical with the pineapple. Now the biggest reason I was unhappy with their catering was because when the dessert was served, they cut very few pieces and had them on the table for guests to grab. That's great, but those pieces were quickly gone and nobody was serving more pieces and the caterer didn't leave the little dessert plates on the table for people to serve themselves either. Secondly, while we sat down for dessert, the photographers yelled out that they wanted everyone on the dance floor for a quick group photo. After the photo was taken, I get back to my table and me and my husbands dessert is gone. The caterer was clearing all the tables as we took that photo which was so annoying since it took me forever to get a plate of dessert to begin with! Anyway, the foods not bad, just the way a few things were done was definitely the most memorable part of the wedding for me unfortunately.

I love that the market acts as an incubator--there's always something fresh and exciting to discover. This time, we stumbled upon this East African gem, and I'm so glad we did. I ordered the Swahili Plate and it was fantastic--perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice that keeps things interesting without being "offensive". The beans and rice were easily my favorite part; you really can't beat a good bean! The hubby grabbed a wrap - the Grilled Chicken Chapati Wrap and was a big fan of his too. If you're looking for authentic Tanzanian flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, definitely give them a try before your next Uptown adventure. Until next time 7th Street Market. As a foodie transplant from the West Coast, walking into Reid's immediately reminded me of a…read morebeloved high-end grocer back home--something along the lines of Draeger's: beautifully curated, family-owned, and designed to feel like a destination rather than just a place to shop. There's a real sense of history here. From what I understand, Reid's is one of the oldest grocers in Charlotte, and that legacy shows in the details. The rich green tile, classic signage, and thoughtfully designed layout create an elevated, almost European-style market experience. It feels polished, intentional, and welcoming all at once. What stands out: * The store is beautifully merchandised and carefully curated with specialty and seasonal items you don't always find elsewhere. * The wine bar and café concept make this more than a grocery stop--it's a place to linger. I've enjoyed flights, tastings, and brunch on the patio, and each visit has felt like a small occasion. * Location-wise, it really depends on which store you're visiting. The SouthPark and Myers Park locations have easy, convenient parking, and there's also a newer location in Ballantyne (near Pineville). The Uptown locations, while not necessarily "easy parking," are incredibly walkable--perfect if you live, work, or have meetings nearby. If you're already Uptown, this is a fantastic stop to pick up elevated items for a beautiful dinner--think wine, specialty cheeses, or even something indulgent like caviar to round things out. One thing I appreciate is that Reid's doesn't try to be everything to everyone. It's not an organic-focused market like Whole Foods, and that's okay--it serves a different purpose. The clientele here tends to be people looking for specialty ingredients, elevated prepared foods, and a more curated shopping experience. Many shoppers probably visit both stores depending on their needs, and I find myself doing the same. When Reid's really shines: During the holidays and special seasons. Their selection of unique, festive, and hard-to-find items makes it a go-to for entertaining or finding something a little extra special. Overall, Reid's feels like a true Charlotte institution--elegant, distinctive, and consistently well executed. It's the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel enjoyable again, and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore more of what they offer as I keep eating my way through Charlotte. Bottom line: A beautifully curated local market with history, charm, and a destination-worthy wine bar--perfect for specialty shopping, brunch, and seasonal finds.
