Cheddar's was such a great stop while visiting North Carolina! While spending time visiting family in North Carolina, we decided to stop by Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, and it ended up being one of those meals where everyone at the table left happy and full. The service was incredible from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure our drinks were always filled and that everything came out just right. You could tell the staff really cared about making sure guests had a great experience. That level of hospitality always stands out and made the visit even better. We started things off with the Choose 3 appetizer, and it was the perfect way to kick off the meal. We ordered the spinach dip, Wisconsin cheese bites, and queso, and every single one of them was delicious. The spinach dip was creamy and full of flavor, the Wisconsin cheese bites were perfectly crispy, and the queso was the kind you keep dipping into even when you tell yourself you're done. For the main meal, there was something for everyone. The kids chicken strips were a hit and came out hot and crispy. I ordered the country fried steak, and it was exactly what you want from comfort food. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and covered in rich gravy. We also ordered the pasta, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The restaurant had a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, which made it easy to sit back and enjoy the meal together. When you're traveling or visiting family, that kind of comfortable environment makes the experience even better. While visiting Charlotte, my party of five was greeted with a warm smile by a friendly hostess and seated immediately, which was a great start to our experience. Our waitress, Blake, came over shortly after we were seated. She was friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to interact with as she took our drink and food orders. Excellent customer service truly makes a difference! The iced sweet tea was absolutely delicious! I paired it with a bacon cheeseburger that was thick, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were served hot, perfectly seasoned, and crispy -- just the way I like them. The only downside was the burger bun. Unfortunately, it was cold and tasted like it came straight out of the bag. After a couple of bites, I ended up removing the bun and finishing my burger with a fork. Three of us ordered burgers, and each of our buns was cold. I highly suggest Cheddar's start toasting their buns -- that simple step would easily take their burgers to a perfect 5/5! My sisters enjoyed their food. One ordered the shrimp pasta and the other, steak and shrimp with a baked potato. Now, she initially didn't receive the bacon bits on her baked potato, but Blake quickly corrected it, so all was well. Overall, this was a solid lunch experience with great service. Pleasantly surprised. Left my comfort zone and ventured to trying something different. The half rack took up the whole plate. Sweet and tangy sauce was delicious as was the chicken tenders. Opted for hot honey sauce on the side. Excellent. Served hot and the server checked on us constantly. They also offer bundles for family gatherings. Good idea for the holiday. Ambiance was good. Terrible! Below mediocre food! One of the employees had a comb in his hair and was flaking while walking around! The busboy had in headphones and spoke so loudly while that people around us couldn't hear themselves! A group of teenagers started FaceTiming through the speakers of their phone and the manager wouldn't ask them to be polite but instead would move people to other areas. I decided to stop by cheddars, it's been so long since I've been to any location. The ambiance was great! Service was good as well. I decided to sit at the bar and grab a drink and an appetizer. (I will say it was very, very chilly inside the restaurant and that's the only complaint I have. ) So I grabbed a strawberry daiquiri and Santa Fe spinach dip. Visiting Saturday afternoon around 3, several large parties waiting to be seated. Thankfully my daughter did something on the phone and our table was ready in less than 5 minutes. Service remained just as quick throughout our visit, thanks to our waiter Kaleb. This is a very loud restaurant. I am sensitive to sound and the close proximity of tables and booths makes it very hard to hear your conversation. Needless to say this and the cleanliness of the restaurant are the only reason I'm not going 5. The food was good. I ordered meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and broccoli casserole. Everything was delicious. I wish the portions of the sides were larger. I almost ordered another order of sides to complete my meatloaf. I do love the fact their meatloaf isn't soaked down in ketchup. A gravy meatloaf is hard to find. My daughter ordered the sirloin and tenders. The steak was seasoned well and tender. The chicken tenders were juicy and meaty. My 6 yo grandson finished the kids penne pasta with Alfredo and that's my review on that. Our waiter was amazing. Good food, reasonable prices and great service is what we experienced on a first visit to Cheddars. The interior was nice and clean. The server brought over complementary honey butter croissants to try, YUM!. I was originally hesitant about going given the low ratings, but I will always try something at least once and I am glad I did. This is a great value place with quality food. I thoroughly enjoyed a steak (6oz) and half Slab combo which was very reasonably priced. They nailed the steak temperature, hats off!!!! We are Definitely going back. My first time in Charlotte NC while I make my way down to SC. Never heard of this place. Gave it a shot. Great decor and great, friendly staff. Walked right in. Happy Hour All day prices on a few drinks and Bud Light. They advertise chicken tenders as a popular dish so of course I ordered it. The tendies overall were slightly better than Canes and the ranch dressing was to die for. The Hot Honey was not good as it had a maple syrup flavor to it. The French fries was where they went wrong. A few people I was with agreed. Barely warm, no seasoning, not crispy. My meal was called Key West Chicken and Shrimp. Should have made a different selection. Wry small Piece of chicken and 3 slightly overcooked shrimp on top of a bed of rice with pineapple and some hideous teriyaki type sauce. The best part of the restaurant was the prices. Feeling nostalgia on a Sunday I decided to reminisce on the old CIAA days and just old faithfuls like Chedsar's. A gem back in the day when life was carefree. I gave this Cheddar's location a tryout again (over a decade later). I used to frequent this location in the early 2000s. I fell for Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen for its consistency and quality. I'm grateful to learn that the experience is still on point here for the most part. The restaurant was nice and clean. There was no one to be found at the Host station. Very busy day, so this was to be expected. I sat myself at the bar. My bartender/server Crystal was amazing. Very kind, welcoming, and attentive. Crystal had tables and the bar to tend to and she didn't miss a beat. Always upbeat, pleasant, and worked well with everyone never sacrificing great customer service. The rolls were as I remember. Buttery soft and delicious. The New Orleans pasta was decent. Flavorful and meaty. My only suggestion is to cook the pasta less. I prefer my pasta al dente and the penne was cooked a bit too long. The temperature of my food on arrival to me was perfect. The kitchen has mastered this. Piping hot and blowable food is a YES for me every time. My classic mule was very good and refreshing. We stopped by Cheddar's for lunch today and were seated almost immediately since the restaurant was not busy. We were seated in a booth in the bar area and waited a lengthy amount of time for wait staff. It didn't help matters when we noticed 6-7 of their wait staff hanging out in a couple of booths near to us. We were about to walk out when our waitress appeared, mumbled something under her breath, skipped a greeting (or an apology for us waiting as long as we did). What we both noticed immediately was that she absolutely reeked of marijuana. After my wife was told they had no Chardonnay, we decided to leave and felt that the lengthy wait was obviously because our waitress was too "busy" smoking a joint instead of worrying about customers. Huge Disappointment. I loved cheddars since a kid but never again will I visit or order from this location. Ordered through the website to have the food delivered from uber. Just for half of my order to be missing. Contacted the store and was on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on and then called again to be on hold for over 15 minutes. Had to go to the store to pickup the rest of my food, for the hostess to say "oh you're the one that we forgot to bag the rest of the order". This is my first time eating here. I ordered the New Orleans pasta with the honey croissants. The croissants were amazing. The pasta was good but they were very skimpy on the meat I only got 2 pieces of sausage, 3 pieces of chicken and 6-7 pieces of shrimp. The sausage and chicken was salty. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The restaurant was nice and cozy. The prices were okay but they need to add more meat to the New Orleans Pasta dish. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect more than 2 pieces of sausage and 3 pieces of chicken in a dish that costs $15.00. Okay. read more

My Daughter , Granddaughter and I usually go to Cheddars almost every Friday evening. But this week we ended up going on Thursday evening. We noticed there were no familiar waiters or waitresses. That's kind of weird. I ordered a steak, baked potato and salad. Their salads are the best with crunchy fresh veggies. When my salad arrived I immediately was disappointed. The iceberg lettuce that was in it was brown around the edges. Not very appealing. Like they scraped the bottom of the barrel. Not long after the steak and potato was served. Looked good, I ordered my steak to be medium. But the center of the steak was rare, I'm surprised it didn't moo. The center of the potato looked off, as if it was cooked before today and just heated up. It didn't taste good. My Granddaughter ordered chicken tenders, which she didn't eat because they were "rubbery" when she bit into them. Cheddars has been my #1 place to go, but with such a failed dinner experience Cheddars has fallen to #10, like a hot potato. It was good till it wasn't. This was a last minute drop in since we were staying at the hotel nearby. Very disappointing as the entrance was not inviting and had a not so fresh smell. Once we sat at the bar the bartender was also not friendly and quickly let us know we had less than 15 mins to order drinks and less than an hour before the kitchen closed.Which we were ok with but the delivery of the information was a little rude. He was quick to tell us if we knew what we wanted to put it in cause the kitchen was behind. We ordered the Bacon Cheese Fries, they were ok... the bacon was honestly the only good part. As for our main course we ordered the Grilled Shrimp Alfredo and the Maple Bourbon Salmon, absolutely AWFUL, the salmon tasted like dish water, the pasta was overcooked. We spoke to the manager which honestly threw us for a loop cause he didn't introduce himself just came to the table and asked us if everything was ok. Made me question if he was the manager or if he was just a random person. Very loud, could probably get a contact high from the smell of dope in the place. The complimentary croissants we received shortly after being sat were cold and topped with way too much butter for my liking. We were just popping in for a quick bite to eat and decided to share a platter. Ribs for my bf and chicken tenders for myself. He enjoyed the ribs but we both agreed the chicken tenders were pretty bad. I ate one and he had 1/2 of one. They weren't worth finishing. Lots of batter, a greasy taste and just not a good tender. Worst dining experience I've had so far. Wait time was 6-10 minutes when I got on the waitlist but I waited 30 to sit a table of ONE with no acknowledgement from the host. Despite seeing I was #1 on the waitlist, I saw two parties sat before me. Server took awhile to bring my drinks and then took awhile after that to take my order after I've already waited longer than I planned. The drink I ordered was just juice and no alcohol which was a waste of money. After I received my food, I was left without napkins and a straw for my drink and my server just handed me my food and walked off without speaking. Went awhile before I was asked if I needed anything, and when I asked for a refill of my other beverage she brought it in a Togo cup, assumed to be rushing me out after I waited a long time just to be seated. To top it off, I was asked to walk into the back of house, to pay for my meal since the kiosk was not assigned to my table. Which is not a big deal but kind of weird on top of an already terrible experience. I can say the server was kind, but not attentive as I waited a 10 minutes just to be able to pay and leave and to be given the chance to ask for the bare minimum. I liken the insides to the consistency of a cheese doodle, no exaggeration. A prior visit yielded cold croissants in which, even the plate was cold. Cold enough to have the butter stiff. I don't understand how. I had 3 croissants with this order, with only one being edible without falling apart in my hand, and one disintegrated upon hitting the floor.
