I liken the insides to the consistency of a cheese doodle, no exaggeration. A prior visit yielded cold croissants in which, even the plate was cold. Cold enough to have the butter stiff. I don't understand how. I had 3 croissants with this order, with only one being edible without falling apart in my hand, and one disintegrated upon hitting the floor. I was here but it was too crowded and the wait time was too long, something like 45 mins. I have been here before they do have good food. My advice is if you want to try any good restaurant in Charlotte to eat you better go during the week or early like before dinner time if you planing to go on the weekend start on Friday. 5/8/23 I ordered the baby back ribs, broccoli, and the loaded bake potato. Worst dining experience I've had so far. Wait time was 6-10 minutes when I got on the waitlist but I waited 30 to sit a table of ONE with no acknowledgement from the host. Despite seeing I was #1 on the waitlist, I saw two parties sat before me. Server took awhile to bring my drinks and then took awhile after that to take my order after I've already waited longer than I planned. The drink I ordered was just juice and no alcohol which was a waste of money. After I received my food, I was left without napkins and a straw for my drink and my server just handed me my food and walked off without speaking. Went awhile before I was asked if I needed anything, and when I asked for a refill of my other beverage she brought it in a Togo cup, assumed to be rushing me out after I waited a long time just to be seated. To top it off, I was asked to walk into the back of house, to pay for my meal since the kiosk was not assigned to my table. Which is not a big deal but kind of weird on top of an already terrible experience. I can say the server was kind, but not attentive as I waited a 10 minutes just to be able to pay and leave and to be given the chance to ask for the bare minimum. The hostess quickly sat us. The ambiance is really nice. If it's busy you can tell it gets a little loud. I love the hot croissants. They were right on point. Sitting back off Harris Blvd in the university area you will find cheddars scratch kitchen, this place has been around for a while, even after all the restaurants on either side of of it have gone out of business numerous times. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly, the menu has a decent selection and the food is pretty good. I've eaten here many times and usually get the buffalo chicken wrap, but the other things I've had have been pretty good as well. I've seen that this place had gotten a B on their report card several times in the past, but they always fix the problems and get their A rating back. They stay pretty busy, so expect to wait a bit to be seated. But once you are seated, they bring you some amazing honey butter croissants which have always been good. read more

I'll start by saying that dud go Covid a lot of restaurants are short staffed and Cheddars is not exception. We had about a 45 minute wait and we were a large party of 9 people. Our server was very attentive, he got our orders correct, made sure our drinks were full, and was sure to check in on us. I had the half rack ribs, Coconut Shrimp and the mashed potatoes. The service here was incredibly poor. The hostess was immature and unapproachable. The server acted like she didn't care if she waited on me or not. Very unfriendly, slow service, unapologetic, and to top it off there was a manager walking around, but didn't come over when my kiosk was blinking because I needed a reprint of my receipt. Good Food and Good Service Easter Sunday and we decide to go out for Brunch. Normally this would not be an issue since that is our customary routine but with Hip Surgery, less than two weeks ago, still playing it by ear. Pulled in about 11:45 am just ahead of the Church rush. My wife dropped me off at the front door while she found a parking spot. I made it to the top of the steps on crutches when the manager ran out to hold the doors for me (both sets) which helped they were quite heavy. They went ahead and seated me while we waited for my wife. Nice decor and with the horizontal ceiling fans, reminds me of the old Bombay Bicycle Club Chain of restaurants from years past. Wife joined me and our server was there to take our drink menu's and to present us with menus. Both of us ordered Sweet Tea although I ordered it 1/2 and 1/2 and glad I did. Hate to think how it would have tasted if it were straight Sweetened Tea. Nice menu with something for everyone. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy and Cheesy Broccoli Casserole for my entree. My wife ordered a Philly Cheese Steak with a side of corn for her's. While we waited, we had a chance to observer the dining room. Nice and light and airy with a Deep South Atmosphere. I loved the aquarium at one end but so did most of the kids who came it as well. Lunch came out in short order. Server apologized because when they came in that morning, the kitchen had made to wrong gravy and I was going to have to wait for a few. No problem and when it came it was good. The Broccoli Casserole was somewhat dry though. The Country Fried Steak and the Potatoes were excellent and let's face it, they are the highlight of the meal. My wife enjoyed her Philly Cheese Steak but I will admit, I am used to a Philly Cheese Steak being bright yellow because of the type cheese used. Nevertheless, she enjoyed it and portions were large enough, she finished it off this evening. Came time to leave and everyone was grabbing and holding doors again. On my birthday, today I ordered a classic cheeseburger. it was greasy. I ordered a strawberry swirl margarita that was very sweet and tasted like mix without any alcohol. I told the server that it was very sweet and tasted like only mix. She said well it came out that way. I over heard her telling the bartender how to make drinks and how tequila is for a margarita. Cheddar's has wonderful food and drink options and is one of those good sit-down, wholesome places where you can get a good meal for cheap! Their honey-butter croissants are DEEEEEELICIOUS and so worth getting the appetizer portion of three. In the past I've gotten the Dijon chicken and mushrooms but recently got hip to the bourbon salmon and will never be the same. They give you so much food and have the best options for sides (I usually go for steamed broccoli, loaded baked potato, rice pilaf, or a side salad). The salmon is so tender and perfectly cooked and the bourbon sauce is so tasty I could eat it by itself!! Cheddar's is definitely somewhere you'd want to go for a nice dinner with family, friends, or yourself. They have plenty of tvs around the bar area for added entertainment, I've never had an issue with parking but can see why some people do as it is right beside another restaurant. read more

There is plenty of parking in their lot. I went here on a weekday for lunch. It wasn't crowded. I came to this place in a party of 5 people. The staff were friendly. The prices are decent. The food is where it went downhill. The salad was not as advertised. It came with iceberg lettuce as you can tell from my uploaded image. The chicken was good as well as the croissant. I was hungry so despite it not coming as advertised I ate it. On top of that my group was in a time constraint so this dish had to do. People got the wrong items in their order. This was also my first time going to this restaurant. The hostess did her best. So when we finally got to our table our server came right over and she was really nice. Since we had such a long wait we knew exactly what we wanted which saved time. The food I must admit was delicious!!
