This place is one of a kind and something I wish we had on my college campus! Think of all the great, fried salty appetizers you want after a night out and then imagine it on a sandwich. It's delicious and everything you need after a couple drinks (or if you're like me, good for any time). After hearing many rave reviews from friends that went to Purdue, I had to make a detour when I visited West Lafayette for a wedding near campus before going back to our hotel and I wasn't disappointed. I spoke with the owner who said him and his sons work the truck. He was really friendly and you could tell right away that he takes a lot of pride in his business. For food, I went with the fat rooster (SO GOOD) and got a side of ranch to dip my crinkle cut fries in (yum). This is my friend group's go-to place for food after a night of drinking. The truck is located between Rawls Hall and Harry's and usually has a decent line. They accept credit cards for orders more than $10. The food is a little bit expensive for what you get, but considering they're open really late, I don't mind the cost. I usually get the mozzarella sticks, which are pretty standard but delicious, as mozz sticks are. This weekend I got the fat fingers, which are egg rolls with cheese and pepperoni inside. They were pretty greasy and I prefer the mozz sticks, but they're interesting and tasty. The food here is pretty greasy and messy, but that's part of the late-night appeal. read more

Best drunk food ever. Usually some food tastes delicious only when you're drunk but this is different, it's delicious even when you are sober. The best part about this food truck is that they accept credit cards now. I used to hate it when they only accepted cash because I never have cash on me. My favorite is the Fat Boy- hotdog bun with fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, ranch and pizza sauce. It's heaven in mouth. Everything I have tried here is delicious. I would consider this place a little expensive but who cares about it when you're drunk. The line can get pretty crazy even when it's freezing outside. If you're drunk and looking for a place to chow down in West Lafayette, Franks is your best bet. Their target market is obviously the bar crowd since they are only around from 11pm-3am Thursday-Saturday. Most menu items consist of a pile of fried food on a bun (mozz sticks, fries, cheese steak, etc). If you're looking for the greasiest, messiest, most heart attack inducing thing to eat after a crazy night out at one of Purdue's four campus bars, Franks is the place for you! The "fat boy" was a staple for me throughout my junior and senior years of college. Mozzarella sticks, chicken fries, French fries, marinara sauce and cheese all stuffed into a hotdog bun?! I don't know how these guys come up with their menu items, but they somehow manage to create some pretty amazing combinations. I have been a huge fan of the Chili Cheese dog for years. Yes it's simple but simply the BEST!!!! They put the cheese under the chili so it melts.
