Not to mention its an hour drive each way from where she lives. Well you, as the new owners would not honor this gift certificate, since you did not own the store at time of purch ase. This is NOT acceptable since gift certificates do NOT expire by law, and she had no way of knowing that there were new owners, which is irrelevant because it has the same name and the gift certificate is under that name. This is horrible customer service and you will lose a lot of business due to this poor decision.

As soon as we entered she was yelling and screaming at just about everybody and everything. At first we thought it was kind of an act because it was over the top. She drove every customer out. People were looking at each other completely confused as to what was going on. My son was attempting to buy a lamp that didn't work and was trying to see if she would take a little bit off the price. Not only did she refuse, she grabbed the item out of his hands and refused to sell it to him. I was also trying to purchase an item when she told us we couldn't 't buy anything, She had forced two other customers out while we were there. Not sure if she was under the influence of something or not, but it was bizarre. Her behavior was irrational. We mentioned the episode to other shop owners, but they indicated that was not unusual. I feel bad for customers trying to have a nice time as well as the vendors trying to sell their items. Whatever her situation is; it's not good for business and not for the feint of heart.

I ordered some chair pads for my kitchen table through the owners. They used a local company, Rhody Rugs, to stock some of their products. I love that local supports local here! The products are reasonably priced! The owners take a holiday during the month of July (Probably to make room for more cool things they will find on holiday!) and when I went there recently, they had a 20% off sale on the entire store! The owners are also very, very kind. They took the time to talk to me to get to know me. I went back to the store to pick up my chair pads and I did not expect them to remember me, but they did! It's so rare and lucky to find a business that cares about customers like this. This is a store I will be going to frequently, as the merchandise will change and turnover and the owners are awesome!

They have everything from premade chicken cordon blue , to skewers to teriyaki rice and general Taos chicken, which was surprising good! When I lived in Scituate I primarily shopped at the IGA & loved the small hometown feel of it. However this market appears to be smaller & with less quantity of items & certain items I looked for and noticed they didn't even carry! It's clean, it's small, it has the hometown feel- If you can afford to shop here - then great! I would love to shop here but unfortunately I can't really afford to. Verdict: I almost did! Good news is that I was able to find adequate substitutes to meet my needs. I was mostly in the market for fresh produce and meats and everything was looking mighty fresh. Employees were actively restocking the produce so everything was plentiful in this section. I was hoping to find some ground veal but went home with ground beef instead. Being new to this location, it took me longer than usual to find everything I needed but everyone was very helpful and super nice while I was checking out. I was excited to find some very large pumpkins out front as well so that I didn't need to stop anywhere else for some pumpkin carving that was on the docket for that weekend as well. Small but packed to the gills with product. Family-owned with a hometown feel.
