First time trying this BJ's market and not a bad experience. I like how they have a gas station near there too so you can get the BJ's wholesale gas price. The market itself has pretty much all the same food items as the BJs wholesale club but probably a little bit more fresh food there. Place was very clean well lit. Decent sized parking lot that self checkout was fairly easy and they had a lot of stations. I definitely shopped faster since there's not as much of the electronics furniture and other things that a normal wholesale club would have to distract you. Overall, I like the convenience, the cleanliness and the gas station with the whole wholesale price prices. read more

My friends and I stopped in to pick up a gift card and the front desk manager was super attentive and helpful and was able to help us with our questions since we were confused about the gift card. My friends also were able to find a couple of items they needed and said it was good that we stopped by so they could grab some things they weren't even thinking of. This location was clean and well stocked. read more

Accidentally placed my order here-not sure how it happened but it did. I chose curb side check in due to having my dogs with me. The employee came out within 3 minutes of me checking in. Very friendly and even made conversation with the dogs. Would love to check out the inside when I dont have the pups. read more

So the Coventry location was disappointing with rude customer service desk employees... this location has super nice staff and although it's a way smaller store, this one actually has a lot of the products that are sold out at the Coventry location so this one has a better selection! I've also learned to scan the items as I'm placing them in my cart to add any available coupons and get an even better value! I think I found my new go to BJ's and todays trip has made me reconsider renewing my membership! read more

I live in Michigan but I'm in RI for the weekend, and I was curious to see a BJ's Market in the area - I'm a BJ's Wholesale member and I was wondering how it would differ from the regular clubs. Turns out it mostly has groceries and other essentials, but it had an interesting mix of things. Only reason it gets 4 stars from me and not 5 is that we bought a Whisps cheese crackers variety pack, supposedly a 14-count box, and the box had 11 packs in it... Not great. I probably won't be returning either so I have no way to return it. Otherwise, it was a very nice store and also well-maintained - we went 1/2 hour before closing time, too. It also has bathroom facilities, if you're in the area and need a bathroom to use. read more

Market sized concept for the large wholesale chain. With limited brands and products, you're not going to be able to do your full household stockpile. However, they've got the popular household essentials, full service deli, frozen food, meat and bakery. They also have a lovely produce selection. I find myself coming in often for the $5 rotisserie chickens. The coupons are loaded in the app which makes life easier but you still have the option to flip through the coupon pages from the book you can grab at the service desk. The service is fine and adequately staffed and friendly. Easy in and out parking. read more

Kind of a poor experience visiting this new BJ's Market. It is marketed by BJ's as a radical new "concept store" where they are testing different ideas. To be honest, there doesn't seem to be anything different or cool or radical about it except for the fact that it's a tiny footprint and limited selection of products. The products are the same, indeed entire pallets full of gigantic quantities of food, yet the store layout is very small with just a couple aisles. Because of massive pallets of food, the entire store and each aisle feels small. If you're wanting to go to a market to grab a few things, this doesn't seem like the right place unless you're fine buying 5 lbs of any one item. Need cheese? 5 lbs. Need grapes? 5 lbs. Need m&m's? 5 lbs. What makes this BJs inconvenient is that due to the lack of inventory, they're likely to NOT have items you may be used to getting at the regular BJs just due to sheer space limitations. For example, BJs normally has an entire 1/2 aisle dedicated to spices, oils, etc but here the selection was super tiny. Same with baking products. We noticed loose mangoes in the produce area, with loose papayas. We were allowed to buy 1 papaya but not 2 mangoes despite there being a lack of signage indicating such. The rude cashier acted like this was somehow our fault or we had done something wrong, and we were like ok? She tried to explain several different times that we needed to go back and grab a box of 6 mangoes. When we kept repeating that we just don't need them, she threw the 2 mangoes in the trash. Kind of odd for BJs to be literally throwing inventory/revenue/profit in the garbage. Their loss. The 2nd thing that was interesting is that in the aisles, there are signs next to products incentivizing customers to add a coupon to the BJs app. We did this in the middle of an aisle which only took a few moments. Once we got to the register and mentioned the coupon, the cashier looked at us with googly eyes as if we were making this stuff up. As if we just came up with it on the spot as a scheme to dupe her into a $2 discount. Under her scrutiny, we showed her the app with said coupon, and as if she was the wizard of oz, the Approver of Discounts tilted her head in contemplation and said "okay, yeah, I'll honor that coupon". Uhh? Your own store told us to download it, but thank you to the cashier on a power trip for giving us the $2 off that your own store told us to redeem. We also weren't allowed to place items on the belt of the cash register. The cashier alerted us to this massive faux pas by raising her voice and motioning that we MUST hand her the cart directly and move to the opposite side of the register area instead of placing our items on the belt. When explaining we wanted to do 2 separate orders she snapped and said "that's fine, I just need the cart". Next to us, customers were placing items on the belt like normal. Lastly, the prices here are not too great. We are used to shopping at a nearby grocery store with the initials MB. MB happens to sell just about everything cheaper than BJs prices, and you aren't stuck with several pounds of it. The only thing we got a good deal on here was chicken, saving a dollar or so per pound. What's odd is you pay a membership fee to shop here, yet the prices are higher than MB or WM, so we question if it's really worth it. I think BJs should try to use this location as either a discount grocery store or a wholesale club. This half hearted attempt at trying to be both falls well short. Topping it off, the staff at this location seemed rude and unprofessional. We have no reason to come back. read more

Decided to stop in to see what the hype was all about. The best way that I could describe the store - - It is a mini BJ's, I could be wrong but it seemed to be well stocked with more of their popular/best selling or BJ's brand items. There was no fun big seasonal aisle, clothing, books, electronics or jewelry, For those of you with children that count on B j's to purchase baby formula or diapers - - - I didn't notice an aisle for that, and their pet section was pretty small as well. Isles are tight. Prices are consistent with a regular BJ's. One suggestion I will make. Don't back into your parking spot. They use large carriages and it was very difficult to load my trunk. All in all, not bad, I wasn't wowed....I'll definitely hang on to my regular BJ's membership.... read more

BJ's and the things were regular size which is OK the selection of things that were there. We're good. It was also way easier to find things there, then in another BJ's read more

I had belonged to bjs before years ago. I bought things in larger amounts for a really good price. I got a bjs membership when this place opened. Bigger packages, but no less price than if I went to stop and shop and brought three packages.not worth the membership fee. read more

doesn't have 25 kinds of tp like a regular BJs but it's only 1/3 the space so no surprise there. prices are the same as the clubs again no surprise, No idea why people would think it would be different. Only negatives for me is all of the dogs . shocked at the number of fake service dogs. also for some reason people think the handicap parking is for running into the store instead of for people that really need it. again no surprise there read more

Not coming back to this place. The selection is small and there weren't even thanksgiving plates! The price ok. The service was awful the cashier just left us because probably it didn't know how to give a customer a bjs card and I saw that the manager had to tell everybody to do things because they didn't know. It's alright same as just a grocery store pricing as well. I can't complain to much except I bought some cheese out of refrigerator section stated to be good till august. I opened it a day after I purchased it and it's all moldy. I will bring back and hopefully this was just a fluke. read more
