One thing about Restaurant Depot is that they're the champion of low prices. They absolutely knock it out of the park when it comes to dry goods & paper products. I cut my costs by around 10% when I started coming here. However, shopping here can be tough. It's stimulus overload. It's loud, bright, & stressful. Oftentimes they are out of vital products & there's no reliable way to check beforehand if they have something or not. One time last summer they were out of 12oz plastic cups for weeks. The employees work hard. The forklift guys always make me laugh. I don't have anything negative to say about them at all. However, they seem to be chronically understaffed. They never have enough registers open to manage the flow of customers, & I've had to wait up to 30 minutes in line to check out. Maybe the checkout system needs to be updated? Like prior reviews have mentioned, going to Restaurant Depot is never a FUN experience. It's a necessity for restaurant owners. I'm thankful that this place exists, but I think it needs some updating & TLC. Misc: - Average trip to Restaurant Depot takes me ~90 minutes. - I wear headphones to cut out some of the noise. - Get a cart WITHOUT the top shelf. I've basically concussed myself multiple times on that shelf. It's not worth it. - Take your time in there. When you own a business you go when you have too. I try to avoid this place like taking a finger from my doctor for my annual physical. It's soooo poorly run and it's literally a free for all trying to check out! Watching people cut in front of you from all angles with no one having any idea which lane they are in makes my blood boil each and every time I am forced to go to this poop hole . read more

Typically only open to restaurant owners and food vendors, but during the Covid 19 crisis, RD has opened their doors to the general public! This place can be overwhelming with the size of product... think of it like a bulk BULK store! Their meat and fish department is amazing! We typically go to take advantage of 40 pounds of chicken breast @ 0.99lb! It's the best chicken I've ever had! If you're freezer is empty, then head to a RD location! read more

Place is really busy and there are forklifts moving all over the place, but the prices are great and they have a great selection of front and back of the house items. They do not carry a any large appliances though but you can get some great deals on some of the smaller appliances, mixers, fryers and counter sized ovens. Restaurant Depot is wholesale heaven! The warehouse is a members only for business. Membership is free and the prices are competitive (think Sam's Club and Costco) with a large selection of high quality produce and business supply like cleaning products and such. While we own a non-restaurant business, I come here to buy smaller quantity of foods and bulk foods for special occasions/events. Cheapest prices for Mexican coke and San Pellegrino Blood Orange sparkling soda (when they are not on sale at UNFI catalog). I also take advantage of their sales too. I mean how can you beat $1.30 lb for chicken wings?!?! The Cranston location is well stocked, busy (it can get tricky sometimes when they are loading inventory) and the produce section is FREEZING! I recommend wearing a coat in that department lol Overall I love this place! read more

Once again, nobody ENJOYS going to Restaurant Depot... its a chore but I never really minded it as it was a necessity. I may have never had a complaint about the place until the location in Avon opened as I never had a comparison. Avon, is much cleaner, more organized and the people there seem a little more open to helping you than RI does. Now I am sure a lot of this caulks up to it being new but the service shouldn't make a difference. I've been pretty much ignored on several occasions. The parking lot is a nightmare and the place needs a major organization overhaul. read more

Spend most of my Tuesdays there for my own business but everyone that works there is knowledgeable and helpful. I think an update of the register system may benefit them greatly. I go here once a week. Most of the time I can find what I need They have great prices, but you have to watch out for the dates on some things.. Cashiers really aren't that friendly. Most of the time, they are talking to each other and don't pay attention to the customer. There are forklifts every where. Just my opinion but I think forklifts should be on the floor after hours. read more

I have been here to restaurant depot with my restaurant employer, while we were shopping for foods, keep in mind they are not open to the public, unless you are in the food bussiness and have a food bussiness licence or non profit bussiness. read more
