Again, great selection as far as for a Dollar Tree but some of the items are cheaper at the actual grocery store- just have to price compare... overall, I like some of the things you can find here. For example, EVOO is very cheap. We normally spend upwards of $15-$20 on EVOO at Stop & Shop, Whole Foods as well as other places and it's $5.99 here for the same volume...how?!? I know what you're thinking, the quality is trash, but you'd be wrong. We did some research on what we bought and whether there are any additives and it checks out. I can't say that this is the case for all items, but worth a try to save some mula. This store looks like it's well taken care of. It's clean, organized and the staff here are great. This is the best one, seriously. The parking lot is HUGE, if it snows they make sure you aren't struggling to get in and out. I just love it here. And to top it all off there's a man here named Steve, since the very first time I shopped here he was kind and so helpful. I was struggling with my bags and this angel literally brought my stuff to the car for me! Who does that anymore? And from then on, he always greets me genuinely ( also greets everyone else), but he jokes when he doesn't see me come in, he's such a sweetie. We asked one of the guys working there if we could just bring two of the smaller packs to the register and get the deal. He said...sure, I think that would be no problem. Sure enough, when we were checking out, we asked the customer service rep if that was ok and she said sure, we can do that for you. Very friendly, very helpful and very customer focused. It was a pleasure doing business at this particular Stop and Shop.

This Trader Joe's has been such a great addition to Providence. That whole area really needed a…read moregood food market, and this place fits perfectly. Every time we go in, we end up finding something new to try. Half the fun of shopping there is walking around saying, "Alright, what weird snack are we leaving with this time?" The store is clean, organized, and surprisingly efficient considering how busy it gets. One thing I really appreciate is that they actually staff the registers properly. There always seem to be plenty of cashiers working, so even when the lines look long they move quickly. You're not standing there questioning your life choices while someone argues over coupons for 20 minutes. The parking setup is also a huge plus. Having the garage parking with the elevator right up to the main level makes things incredibly easy, especially on busy weekends or bad weather days. Way less stressful than circling around crowded lots hoping someone backs out. The employees have always been friendly too, which honestly makes a difference. The whole place has a good energy to it. Quick shopping trip or full grocery run, this location just works. Definitely one of the better additions to Providence in recent years.

I just threw out the bananas I bought a week ago - still green as a go light and hard as a rock. I wanted grapefruit - they had no bags of them and the individual ones were, IIRC, $2.69. EACH. I was lucky to find the store brand Greek yogurt I wanted - there were only maybe 4 left. Providence always has plenty. Never again.

In addition to manufacturers coupons, you can stack store coupons or sale pricing too. Combine these savings with the bonus Saturday only $5 of $25 digital coupon in their app and you can score many household products from laundry supplies, household cleaning supplies, shampoo, body wash, and toothpaste for awesome prices. This dollar general is closest to my house and even though I only shop the weekly "household deals" the store is well stocked with many different types of items, is organized well, and the staff is pleasant.

This review will be my opinion on the Dollar General stores as a whole and not just a reflection on…read morethis location. I'm not a fan of the concept of "Dollar" General because in my opinion putting the word Dollar in your store name insinuates that it is in fact a "dollar store" and with Dollar General (as well as Family Dollar) this is simply not the case. In fact there are very few things that cost $1.00, if any. This location is convenient to my home and in a pinch I will stop in to grab something I need quick, but overall I try to avoid it. Not only are there few to no items that are $1.00 the items that are not $1.00 always seem to be overpriced in my opinion. The tape measure or dish towel that is $1.00 at Dollar Tree is of the exact same quality of the se items available at Dollar General, yet at Dollar General they are easily 3 to 5 times the price. When this specific location was a Benny's store a few years back I didn't mind paying a little extra to a local owned and family run business who was selling a decent quality product at a competitive price. This new model of faux dollar stores seems to be selling the same low quality items as the true dollar stores, except selling them for the prices of a higher quality item at a regular store. It's for this reason thst I do my best to avoid Dollar General (and Family Dollar) stores. Use your own judgement and decide for yourself, but as I said, when necessity strikes I will grab something at the Dollar General. Thanks for reading!!
