Bought a bag of chocolate covered pretzels that tasted rancid. Took the bag back six days later with receipt for a $1.55 cash refund (I paid in cash). Instead of thanking me for making an effort to come back into the store and bringing it to their attention, the "manager" Kathy insulted me and raked me over the coals, REFUSING me a cash refund unless I gave up my phone number and address.
I don't mind signing my name to a refund slip, but to be required to disclose where I sleep at night? That is wrong.
There was an older army vet wearing a POW pin on his jacket standing at the register waiting to be checked out who saw the entire interaction. After I declined giving up my phone number, he looked at me and said, "Good for you".
I took my original receipt, left the stupid bag of pretzels on the counter for them and walked out of the store saying, "It isn't worth it. You have rancid product on the shelves."
