Last review for this location was in 2008 and it has changed so much since then. New layout makes…read morethe place feel much bigger, product placement makes sense. Many grocery aisles which is great and the reason I go there. The aisles are a bit narrow but clear and the place feels a lot cleaner and more organized now. Also in response to the last review, there's employees all over the place now mostly high school kids it seems, but they are there facing the products and keeping the store tidy. Compared to other Big Lots I've been to, this one is my favorite because you never know what you will find here. The Big Lots in Bolingbrook doesn't have much of a selection and never seems to gain anything different. At this Big Lots you will find lots of organics / natural food brands, expensive (and now cheap) teas, tons of spices, and just an overall awesome grocery selection. The health and beauty section isn't much to speak of (I shop for organics/cruelty free stuff) but they have a lot of DVDs now near the customer service register so it's fun to look through all those. Also, the parking lot was finally re-striped a year ago or so, so it's no longer this weird free for all parking situation that was just weird before.

Every Big Lots I have gone to has had good deals on so many items. Clean store and friendly staff…read more I particularly like there tech items that have a decent price and comparable to what the brand name stores sell.

This is a review of Shorewood Liquidators, also known as sliBuy.com, of Shorewood, IL…read more sliBuy Auctions, also known as Shorewood Liquidators, is that rare company that tells you in plain and easy to understand language just how they make money. 1) THEY CREATE FAKE BIDDERS TO BID AGAINST YOU: Go to sliBuy.com, then go to the section marked "Terms & Conditions". Read the paragraph clearly titled "Seller Bidding". It tells you, IN PLAIN ENGLISH, that they bid against you. Yes, they actually have their computer program create fake bidder names, and this computer program then makes you bid up to your maximum pre-determined bid (they know it because you were dumb enough to enter the maximum you were willing to pay). If you did not enter your maximum bid and decide to "snipe" bid in real time as the auction draws to a close, their software determines how many times your internet IP address logged on and looked at that item- and the computer program does the rest. If you don't bid enough money, the computer program's fake bidder "wins" the item and it will be relisted next week under a new "auction ID number". Did you understand that? This is not a true auction site. There is a saying in poker that when you sit down at the table and can't spot the sucker, then YOU are the sucker. 2) THE LABELS "NEW/OTHER", "USED", "SHELF PULL", and "UN-INSPECTED ITEM" MEAN NOTHING: Go to sliBuy.com and then to "Terms & Conditions". Go to the paragraph clearly marked "Terms". They are telling you that "new" doesn't mean anything. An employee earning $12 an hour and at a very fast pace has to label things and photograph the outside of the box. What they call a "new" professional paint sprayer model XYZ sold at Home Depot could very well mean "Model ABC used for two years by a paint company, no longer working, and important parts removed so that it will never work again". In a court of law, a "reasonable" person could understand and define what "new" or "used" means. Here, they tell you- IN PLAIN ENGLISH, that this means nothing. So that is what sliBuy tells you, if you bothered to read the easy to understand large print from their website. *** Now this is what I tell you....I met many people who buy from sliBuy each week, and then re-sell the items on Craigslist, eBay, OfferUp, flea markets, and even (in the case of fake Pampers diapers returned by Amazon customers) to inner city "mom and pop" corner stores. I know one lady who buys about 100-200 boxes of diapers from sliBuy each week! She re-sells them to the inner city corner stores where customers are not the type to write letters to the manufacturer complaining about the degrading quality of the product. Another gent I met is "Hank". He makes a living buying whatever is "hot" at the moment, such as juicers for people wanting to lose weight gained during the Covid-19 pandemic. He brings an electrical cord and drives down the building to an outdoor electrical outlet, plugs in each of the electrical items he just "won", and tests them. If any are inoperable, he returns right away for store credit. Since he is a "regular" there, he has no trouble and is helped by staff. And that is why I give it 5 stars. For people who actually read the easy to understand "Terms & Conditions", and for "regular" customers, it is a way to make a living. If you are too lazy and dumb to spend 20 seconds reading their "Terms & Conditions", you will lose.

We have used this auction site several times, and have given it up. The product pictures are…read moredeceitful at best and fraudulent at worst. "Appears New" seems to be their default when selling a broken/used item wrapped in plastic, and "used" for an item that will be broken, missing parts, missing hardware, and often unusable. They claim that they don't test their items, and that you must inspect an item, if you want to be sure what you are getting. There are no refunds or returns. You cannot depend on any pictures of a product as an example of it's condition because it is very likely not an accurate representation of the item you will receive. Good Luck!!

Lockport is beginning to show signs of life again in the business community and I, for one, am grateful. I'd been in a Big Lots (once before) in Joliet and found the prices to be quite reasonable, but the store kind of dingy and picked over. However, the minute I'd walked into the new Lockport location, I could see that this store was much lighter and better laid out as well. It simply "felt good" to shop there. Plenty of merchandise to cruise through and if you're not careful, you just may find yourself filling up your cart with things you didn't plan on buying beforehand but discover you can't afford to pass up! The employees are a delight to deal with, too, and I've never had a sour experience with any of them, even during the busy holiday season. I can actually say that I enjoy coming here and from time to time, find myself wandering in just to see what's new. Right now, holiday decorations are dramatically discounted, so I know I'll be heading back again real soon. You should, too!

They always do that once the customers entered their store, all of them are willing to help and assist their customers, also you can come to them anytime if you have something to ask or if you are looking for something around their store. Their store is always clean and bright, lots of decoration around the place, organized, and well-stocked. They always have great deals, promos, and even sale products. You can buy anything here at Big Lots without breaking your pockets and also save lots of money compared shopping to other stores. They are so affordable and maybe that is the reason why many of their customers are going back again and again. Lots of people really love their place and I am one of those people. I was really amazed with their place and products, I will definitely go back here and shop. Thumbs up Big Lots! I will recommend this store to all of my friends and family. Thank you for such a wonderful service and great experience Big Lots!

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses…read more I have been doing business with them for 2 years now. They could'nt be nicer. Great Items Great prices. The girls that work in there are so friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to go there I always come home with great stuff. I have also had client's that consigned with them & they sold their furniture pieces. Great place.

Meeting and evaluation of my fathers house and property were pretty straight forward. They said…read moreall the right things and checked all the boxes my siblings and I were looking for. Myself and my son did a LOT of organizing, cleaning, moving furniture. Communication once we hired the company was so so at best. A lot of things were "let me check and get back to you", which ended up with me having to reach out again to follow up. I walked thru my dads house and garage the day before the sale and saw how they priced everything. My dad lives very rural, in the middle of the country so we did not expect a huge turnout but there were people in line waiting with a constant flow of people both days. Day 1 is suppose to be full price as listed yet several of my friends went to the sale and were ready to pay the full price listed and only ended up paying 1/3. Seems like they were wheeling and dealing on day 1. Which we did NOT agree to. WHAT?? On day 1 you asked $20 for something listed as $60? My dads riding lawn mower was priced at $1400. It didnt sell the first day so I knew it would go for $700 on the 2nd day. When we got our itemized list of what sold we saw that the lawn mower sold for only $300!! a 12 piece oak amish dining room set sold for $100, that was a 1/8 of what it was listed at. We paid $1500 for their "fee" and a 65/35 split. Then told that we didnt have to pay thr $1500, that the fee was asked for if the home was determined that it would bring in a profit. When we received the check and itemized list the $1500 was taken out of the profits and the remainder was done at the split. We ended up after all the work and back and forth with $400. a full 3 bedroom home! The itemized list left out A LOT of pieces that were no longer in my fathers home but were not on the list as sold. I asked if anything was going to be taken for consignment at their store and was told no, so not sure where these items went. My father lived very simply so we were not expecting a huge result but really felt we were taken advantage of and it was a HUGE waste of time. I put in a lot of man hours and had I know I would have either A. let them do all the work or B. Did the work and held the sale myself! NOTE-I have been told by multiple people who frequent their sales and many others, as well as people who have hired them in the past, that they will have their regulars (*who resell) come and give them the deals on items. I cannot confirm this but hearing it from many different people gives me pause.
