I reviewed Fallon earlier. The guys were nice but as I said, they put heavy boxes on fragile boxes. Left boxes with arrows pointed up on their side. Additionally, I have just found out they disassembled a torchiere lamp we need by disconnecting where the bulb comes into contact w the lamp. I have no idea where that is as we desperately need it since have no built in ceiling lights. Unpacking in mellow nightstand lamps sucks. The more I unpack, the more I find carelessness. Every day I am more disappointed. Just noticed another HORRIBLE DEAL!!!How do they snap off a handle on a dresser that is brand new?!?!!!!?!!!! Regret working w them & tipping $80 to 4 guys each Stay FAR away from this company. No ethics.

Don't Do it!!! Ruined furniture. Called the day before delivery to new home to say that they had miss estimated the weight and it was going to be $1250 extra.

Call log of the automated message saying they will be there in 15 minutes.

Nationwide Moving and Storage

(75 reviews)

I hired this company in January 2013 to move my belongings (large sectional couch, several…read moredressers, kitchen table, bed/mattress, and about 15 boxes) from a first floor apartment to a second floor apartment about 13 minutes away. I will never work with this company again, and here is why: I called Nationwide Moving and Storage to schedule a move about three weeks ahead of time to get an estimate for my move. I received an estimate over the phone on that same day of $440 for four hours (there is a four hour minimum on Saturdays). I thought this was a reasonable estimate and scheduled my move. My move was scheduled for 8:00 AM. On the day of the move, the move, the movers called me at 8:45 and said they were at my apartment. We then realized they were at the destination apartment, not the origin apartment. The mover blamed it on incorrect paperwork and said he would come to the correct apartment immediately. The movers arrived at 9:05 AM. The movers worked (very hard!) for four hours until 1:00 PM on the dot. At the end of the move, I had to sign my paperwork and write a personal check for their services (they do not take credit/debit cards ahead of time). Larry informed me that I was being billed for six hours, (7:00 AM to 1:00 PM). He informed me that they were going to take off one hour (for their mistake in driving to the wrong apartment). I ended up paying for five hours (an extra $101 on top of my original estimate) instead of four. The extra hour (7:00 AM to 8:00 AM) is for when they are "prepping the truck at the warehouse and driving to the location." Evidently, it is CT state law that they begin charging when they start prepping the truck. I had a problem with this because A) it does not take an hour to throw some furniture blankets and fuel in a truck and B) I was not informed of this fact ahead of time. I tried to complain to the mover about the extra hour to have it removed. He could not remove the hour himself. He explained that normally, the salesman (Bob Miklos) comes to an apartment ahead of time to see how much stuff you actually have, as well as the lay of the land (to see how they will move your belongings. This helps provide a more accurate estimate. This was never done (my estimate was made 100% over the phone). Since there was nothing Larry could do at that time, I paid and tipped the movers and they left. The following Monday, I called this company to make a complaint that A) no salesperson had come to my apartment to give me an accurate estimate and B) they start charging at 7:00 AM and did not arrive until 9 AM, which left me feeling overbilled. I tried to reach Bob, who had originally given my estimate, but I got his voicemail. I was eventually routed to the owner of the company, Robert Pearlman. I explained the situation to Robert and he gave me a roundabout explanation about how for local moves they don't always come out to look at your belongings/pathways. He gave me attitude and said that "with the health and benefits that I give my men, I know that I am sending out the best movers in the business." He refused to remove the extra hour for customer satisfaction purposes. Overall, I feel that the movers in this company were good (my belongings were delivered, wrapped/unbroken), but the office staff and business practices of this company are drastically below average. I would absolutely never use this company again to move. The sole reason that I am giving this company two stars instead of one is because of Larry and Kevin, who did a good job physically job moving my belongings.

I worked with Alan Moore who had great customer service UNTIL I signed and then absolutely no…read moreresponses. No one ever told me how to contact the new moving company (I was turned over to two different entities), I had specifically said I needed my things delivered on a specific date and they tried to tell me that there was a delivery window (this was never mentioned. Half of my things were lost or broken, you will not have your claim looked at until 50-90 days so good luck sleeping without a bed and watching your shattered tv for 3 months! My move cost $2300 from the midwest to the east coast and I shipped a bed, mattress, couch, 55 inch tv, and a coffee table. DO NOT use this company it is a nightmare.

The security gate was constantly left open, which made me feel unsafe about storing my property there. Communication has been terrible, and customer concerns are not handled fairly or respectfully. ***Initial review just after moving in 4 months ago…read more A day ago I put in a reservation to move the contents of one of my storages to a bigger unit and in the same day I went to get things moving and found it to not be up to my standards. A day later I came across GoStoreIt which was a lot closer to another storage of mine as well as close proximity to a store I have a habit of impulse buying from and crossed my fingers hoping this would be the one. From the 5 stars I gave it the cat is probably out the bag that I went with the location. I always prefer a location where someone lives on property, as well as security cameras for added security. The team on site offered me the best customer service I could ask for in a time where customer service has truly been lacking. Thank you for the effortless transitions at the start of my day! If you guys ever see this remember "Happy Shopping!" ***Update June 10th, 2003 Unfortunately, things aren't as great as I would like them to be. First let me say that all that I'm going through is due to me not paying my bill on time. I planned to stop by Saturday to inquire about an additional unit or to swap out my smaller one for a larger one but I would like it in the same building so I could then move another unit that I have at another place to this storage and have all my stored items at one location. It's the 10th I'm running in the office to apologize for the hassle and see if I could possibly get a unit and pay the bill. I walk up to the door, and it's locked. It's dark so I figure I'll go attempt to use my entrance code on the gate and locate the employees on the property someplace. Since I'm late the code directs me to see the manager, which is impossible with no one being inside. There is a letter on the door that tells you they will be closed Sundays and Thursday's as well as a clock saying they will be back at 8:30 well it's 11:30 so that time has come and gone and I figure the clock was set to that time Friday evening after they closed because Saturday is the only time that they open at 8:30. I go online and make the payment thinking it may give me access to my storage but no luck so I call customer service who sees that I am current and states she is sending a notification to the management team who will reach out to me. I ask questions to give me some type of idea of when I'm going to have access to my unit and I'm only met with a response that "I don't know I'm not at that site" and a response like that just tells me that this person isn't trying at all to help me so I ask more direct questions to see if it's customary to add locks on storage units when the bill isn't paid because at this point I'm not sure if my unit has a lock because I've never been at this point and again I'm met with the I'm not at the site answer. Then I asked about there being locks on my unit and now she said yes so, I ask why she couldn't just say that when I asked instead of saying she isn't at the site, or that she isn't aware of what the customary procedure is? So, I begin to speak and the customer service agent beings into this scripted speech and I angrily ask if she would not talk over me while I'm talking. She tells me she is hanging up now and does so. I call back again enter the info at the prompt and once connected I'm instantly hung up on.
