You can't go wrong with ordering the Hut Big Combo platter. 2 Chicken kebabs, 1 beef kebab, and kofta with wi the chicken or beef shawarma with salad, rice or fries and bread. We shared it between 2 people with plenty of leftovers to bring home. The meat was so tender and juicy, especially the chicken kebabs and the salad was so fresh. Definitely worth the price and the family that owns it care about their customers.

For authentic and reasonably priced Mediterranean food, this is my absolute go-to spot! Their chicken shawarma sandwich is divine - bursting with flavor and full of chicken! I also can't complete an order without the hummus and pita, definitely some of the best in the area! I highly recommend this place!

Gyro in a whole wheat wrap with Labne and homemade hot sauce.

As anyone can see from my previous review and from all of my check-ins at Falafel Hut, I'm a big fan. Their food is all incredibly fresh and the service is fast and friendly. Despite my many visits I'm a creature of habit, so I rarely deviate from my usual order of either the falafel or the gyro, and when I say "rarely", I really mean "never". So today when I decided to toss it up a bit and try their Kafta Kabab, there was a noticeable pause behind the counter and everyone looked up at me as if to say "really?" It was actually pretty amusing. They know me so well. For those not familiar with Kafta, it's a skewer of ground beef and lamb mixed with fresh parsley, onions, garlic and spices, which is grilled over a flame. As with many of the items on the menu, the Kofta here is their own recipe. I chose to have the Kafta Kabab in a whole wheat wrap (it's usually served in pita). It included lettuce, red cabbage, onions, tomato, pickles and tahini, and it was delicious. If you like gyros, you'll like Kafta (maybe even more). The Kafta has a firmer texture and because it's made with fresh lamb and beef the flavors are more dynamic. I will definitely be having it again. Maybe next time though I'll shock them once more and try their Lamb Kabab (which also looks very tempting as it marinates in yogurt and spices). As always, Falafel Hut did not disappoint.

    Hanoosh (Chicken)

One of my favorite places to eat whenever I'm back in Montclair. Very consistent Middle Eastern food. I normally order the falafel, but I decided to get the Hanoosh (Chicken Shawarma) this time around. Per usual, Falafel Hut did not disappoint. The chicken was delicious and the portions were enough for a second helping. Strongly recommend Falafel Hut if you are ever Uptown with an appetite.

Just had the chicken shawarma pita sandwich and was genuinely the best Mediterranean wrap I've ever had. Well done.

There are a lot of Mediterranean food restaurants in Montclair but this one by far is the best. Our go to spot for lunch at work

We tried the Antakya Hummus (Pine nuts, cucumber pickles, tomatoes, brown chili butter) and will be adding this to our list of favorite appetizers... So very good! The sea bass my wife and SIL were again, beautifully prepared and delicious as always, as were my lamb chops (Kuzu). While the lamb hummus was excellent, the miso calamari was.... not as tasty as I remember it. Different chef, different day... won't keep us from coming back soon.

The pan seared calamari was naked which is more healthy than fried! The miso aioli made the big difference with the squid! It was different and delicious. The squid was tender and not chewy! For dinner I ordered the beef shish kebab. It came with two kebab. The beef tasted delicious with the Turkish style marinade. I think it would have been more worth if they added another kebab stick. The pistachio rice was good. It was a different taste with nice almonds slices. The only negative were the kebabs and rice were cold like the onion salad. And I loved the onion salad. We also ordered the salmon artichoke. The pan seared salmon was over cooked. They should have seared it in a shorter time. And it lacked seasoning believe it or not! The artichoke Brussels were a little on the burnt side. The spicy tomato sauce tasted more like ketchup. We will not be ordering this in the future. We also ordered a side of fries and Tahini brussels. The fries weee very tasty and I savored every piece. The Brussels were tasty as well. For dessert, we ordered rice pudding and baklavas. Both weee very good.

Its English name comes from a Greek legend: Zeus had an affair with a beautiful woman named Io. When Hera, his wife, discovered his infidelity, she turned Io into a cow and created a horsefly to sting her on the rump. Io jumped clear across the strait. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." Located off of busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley, my partner, our friends, and I have decided on our dinner at this family-owned-and-run BYOB establishment, which has been open since 1995. A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). Our food was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautifully presented dish. Everything was authentically made with love here. Wish we could have stayed for dessert, as they looked amazing, but some of us were in a rush. It's definitely on the higher end cost but worth the taste. Our visit ended with a hug and a piece of candy.
