    Corn spaghetti

Good price, attentive service, and homey HK food. It's clean and has a few tables but note the restroom is outside, behind the restaurant. My fam and I came here on Christmas Day for a quick dinner and we got: - corn and chicken spaghetti (3/5): creamy but not a lot of taste. - pork chop rice (5/5): wish there was more pork chop but perfectly tender and sauce was sweet/nostalgic - Hainan chicken rice (4/5): chicken was a bit too cold for our liking but taste and sauce was good. Like they gave peanuts - Beef noodle soup (4/5): soup flavor is light but noodles were bouncy - Preserved egg congee (5/5): tasty and great texture. Pork was a bit salty though Owner is very friendly and attentive asking if we wanted more milk tea. Decent price I think we paid around $70 and we'd come back to try the other dishes!

HK cafes - and iced lemon tea paired with wonton noodle soup - are among life's greatest joys. Open late and dishing up the classics, quick and hot, Fairwood Cafe has my gratitude. Prices are higher than A+ Hong Kong Cafe in Fremont, but a bit better than Local Cafe and other places. In addition to my usual order, I also asked for a baked seafood rice to go. Food is 3.5 stars, and the hours bump it up to 4. No frills food in a no frills space, but service is warm and welcoming. Just remember to bring your cash (although they now also allow Venmo).

Baked pork chop with red sauce and spaghetti dish

Visited this spot recently for lunch and the place seems like it might've had a light remodel --looked cleaner and fresher than I remembered. Service was friendly and food came out fast. They served complimentary slice of garlic bread and HK-style borscht soup which was lightly sweet with celery, cabbage, and carrots. A nice touch to start the meal. I ordered their baked pork chop with red sauce and spaghetti. The portion was generous. The sauce was more on the sweet side with less of the strong tomato flavor you might expect, similar to the Filipino spaghetti dish. It also came with a crispy wing and a well-done fried egg. Pro tip: add some of the chili oil from the table if you want a kick! Overall, this was a 4/5 for me. Also ordered their lemon tea which turned out to be a HK style iced tea. Tasted just like the ones you get from HK. It was perfectly balanced in sweetness (though I could see others preferring it to be a little sweeter). It came with 4 slices of lemon that you can smash with a spoon to get the full citrusy flavor. Highly recommend. 5/5 Overall, solid experience. Would return to try other items from their menu

ORDER -Baked Rice Ox Tongue -Seafood Macaroni STARS (stand out qualities) -Food is tasty - particularly liked the ox tongue which was tender -Prices are reasonable for Bay Area and given portion -Appreciate the soup and bread that comes with baked rice -Comfortable booth seating and tables -Inside seems fairly clean -Easy parking -Service is pretty responsive and quick STAIRS (areas of growth) -Food is solid but not outstanding -Baked sauce could use more flavor -Wish they had more promotions or more things to make customer feel the value of visiting (e.g. free birthday meal, seniors/kids get discount on certain times) TIPS -If you are not too hungry, two people could probably share the baked rice dishes -Bathroom is outside; probably shared with other businesses in same unit (I heard very dirty but didn't see fit myself)

I had the best chicken congee here! My boyfriend had the pig organ congee, which was equally good! Both had this natural homey and sweetness with every bite. Our waitress was amazing and super friendly. The restaurant itself has a very traditional hk cafe feeling. I highly recommend here!

Minimal service. Need to wave to get someone's attention. Food was hit and miss Tomato beef over rice: 4/5. Not as tangy as I was hoping, but it did have the sweetness." Beef was tender. Borscht: 1/5. It was watered down. So diluted. They might as well not even serve it for free. Iced milk tea: 2/5 so diluted with ice. Most likely would not be back

Looking for a quick, hearty Hong Kong style meal and or a drink to quench your thirst? Well, Fairwood Cafe, a moniker resembling the one from Hong Kong, will serve you well! Their extensive menu spans across breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper and drinks and oftentimes includes specials of the day. I'm fond of a few of their signature dishes but you'll find something for you, too, I'm sure. My personal picks would include their omelettes (come with fries), baked #1 pork chop over rice (comes with chicken wing and fried egg), curry or Portuguese style rice or the spaghetti variation, and fried chicken wings (comes with fries). All of their big entrees come with a slice of garlic bread and soup. Pretty decent value and the food always comes out piping hot. Oh, and you cannot forget to order a HK style drink. Whether it's the milk tea or coffee milk tea, you won't go wrong. You could also try their lemon tea (iced or hot) which is a favorite of mine when we visit Hong Kong. The service is great! We were seated and served pretty quickly . They took our drink and meal orders and even gave out a juice box for our kiddo (complimentary). There are quite a few tables and booths to choose from and usually, there's a spot without waiting. Parking lot is usually empty and it's right off the highway so there should be no issues getting here. Overall, while the food may not be the healthiest, it's plentiful, fairly priced, delicious, and quick. And if you're looking to relive a bit of Hong Kong culture through its cuisine, this is a great place to start!

My husband and I have eaten here a few times. Each time we have ordered food we like. We try to order different dishes each time and have not been disappointed. They have huge portions and 2 people can share a dish and be satisfied! We usually order 2 dishes and always have plenty of leftovers! I love that they give you a small bowl of soup and toast while you wait for your order. The staff here are nice and friendly!

As a big fan of Hong Kong-style diners, I love checking out places that have a similar east-west vibe. Think lots of baked items, congee, and Chinese donut, along with the classic HK-style milk tea! Fairwood is a good place to get your eats in, as they have a pretty extensive menu with lots of classic items. I went for breakfast and got a set with congee with thousand year old egg, a side of chow mein, and milk tea with condensed milk. Definitely hit the spot. The prices are a little higher than what I would normally pay for this type of food, but with inflation, I can't fault the restaurant too much. Service is always pleasant, and it's never been too crowded when I've gone. Note that they only take cash or Venmo.

Chicken steak over rice with red sauce

I love this place!! I love being able to customize my food, lol. This pace is tucked in a corner and a little hidden if you're not looking for it. There is so many food to choose from and you can cater it your liking. The lady was very helpful and patient as I skimmed through the menu. I opted for baked seafood pasta with white sauce and baked chicken steak over fried rice with red sauce. You really get what you paid for! I had leftovers for the next day. The food is cooked so well and it smelled so good. I loved the red sauce, but the white sauce was the winner. I loved it with the seafood! The chicken was a good portion and there was enough seafood to last until the next day.

I had to take my plate outside table to get away from the noise pollution of 6-8 "Mad Mother-In-Laws" on a rampage. Restaurant staff did not intervene, avoid conflict, avoid losing customers, I guess this is normal everyday behavior for the infamous "dama" (大妈) in their restaurant or anywhere else for that matter. So, my suggestion is, avoid lunch hour/prime dinner hours, order food, go outside to eat or take out to enjoy at home, nearby park . Food is great! Some of the customer groups (i.e. like straight off a tour bus) are challenging to endure. Another option, bring high quality noise-cancelling headphones, eat/enjoy quietly if you encounter the "dama" experience...

Maybe I should have spoken up because everyone was underwhelmed by what we ordered. My food was bland and needed more flavor, but I wasn't sure what to add to make it more flavorful. What I shared with my husband: Preserved egg and chicken porridge with a Chinese donut Chinese sausage w/ salted fish I was disappointed by the amount of salted fish in my bowl. I found a few sheer pieces of basically nonexistent fish in my fish. It takes less than two dollars to make this dish, so I have no idea why a bowl of rice costs $17. I love preserved egg and chicken porridge, but this one lacked sodium and preserved duck egg flavor. My guess is that they made plain porridge and dumped chicken and preserved egg into it instead of cooking it on a slow simmer. My friend had to send her dish back because she found a hair in her food. Cons: Bland dishes Expensive dishes for what you actually get Pros: Prompt and good service for a party of 7. The next time a friend suggests Clay Pot, I will suggest a better alternative and spare us disappointment.

Most people, local and from afar, come here for their 3-dish menu. When we first started eating here more than a decade ago, it was $19.50. But with inflation surging once again, the price has gone up to $38.99, which is still reasonable compared to other Cantonese restaurants in the East Bay. Our most recent visit took place on 11/15/2025. After attending the Bolo Yeung "You Are Next!" Autograph Signing Event at the Great Mall, four of us came here for dinner. It was busy when we walked in at around 6:20pm. The place was 90% full, with many others waiting for their takeout orders. We scored the last round table. The friendly tall waitress came by to say hi and dropped out a couple menus. (For those of you who don't know who Bolo is, he's the original "Beast of the East" and was featured in movies such as "Enter the Dragon", "Bloodsport", and "Double Impact".) We ordered a total of seven dishes. The quality was good as usual. The standouts were the scrambled eggs with shrimp and yellow chives (soft and creamy inside), Peking pork chops (crispy, meaty pork chops perfectly coated in a tangy sauce/best in the East Bay), and the bean curd strips and pork stir-fry. The tall waitress provided excellent service. She talked to us like family and was very efficient. She's been with this restaurant for a long time and if I recall correctly, she is mainly doing this for kicks (and some spending money). If you want some good Chinese food that doesn't break the bank, this is the place to be. Still 4 stars.

The restaurant looked full, but we were seated immediately at a small table. The service was friendly, informative and quick with the food. We wanted to try a bunch of different things, but our waitress actually told us we wouldn't be able to finish the first four dishes we ordered. She was right; we appreciated her help and took boxes to go. The food was great and my friend flew back to Connecticut happy. In February, my wife threw a bridal shower and decided to use Good Neighbor to provide all the food. She went to order on her lunch break and met with the owners to choose the dishes. They were helpful and informative. The day of the shower, they helped me load all the boxes into the vehicle, using a cart for transport. The important thing to note was the cost was reasonable for feeding 20 people. The food was enjoyed by all the guests and we had leftovers for dinner! You just can't beat that today. There's a ton of parking and they treat all their customers well. Only thing to note is they are closed on Tuesdays.
