I had a very easy experience getting an on-site quote. I received 3 quotes for this job. 2 quotes, including this one, came in around $7100. I went with a third one at around $6700 (which included an additional mixing valve) and am very happy with my decision. Overall price was not a big part of my decision, but brand of water heater was. After doing some research online, the most recommended brands are AO Smith and Rheem (GE). Both higher quotes were for Navien, which has only been making heat pump water heaters for 1 year, but I was told that it is the most reliable brand. I did not understand how this claim could be made, given how short the duration of evaluation for this product. Even the worst appliances usually work for at least a year. So I requested a quote for AO Smith or Rheem, which I did not get. I'm not sure why my brand request was not honored, but it made me question whether I should go with a company that either has communication issues or maybe some type of deal with Navien that I was not informed about. Many water heater installers are preferred installers of certain brands, which means they can get better pricing, etc. I did not want to be a guinea pig for Navien.

I called a few different plumbers that were highly rated on Yelp but they were all closed or not available when I needed them. I called Save Plumbing and Wally answered. I described the problem and he told me he could be there in 1-2 hours. I can't describe the relief I felt knowing he could help me out. I sent him a couple pictures of the damage and I asked him to give me a heads up when he was 30 minutes away so that I could plan my time accordingly. He wrote me back with a quote for the repair and texted me when he was 30 minutes away (it's a small thing to do but I've had so many contractors say they would do this but then they just show up or call when they're 15 minutes away). True to his word he came in about 2 hours. Wally arrived with his son. He was warm and friendly. I showed him to the bathroom and I asked him if I could watch him make the repair. I wanted to confirm for myself that this wasn't a repair I could've done. After seeing the process I was very happy I called Wally and didn't take the DIY route. Wally and his son were great. He did a thorough job. He replaced the angle valve and the supply line. He also replaced some other parts like the compression ring so that everything was new, which some plumbers wouldn't do because it's not critical to the issue I was having but it is a good thing to do for the long term. This was hands down one of the best experiences I've had with skilled laborers. I found his price to be very reasonable. I will definitely call Save Plumbing again when I have any plumbing needs.

Lex and Maxat were the nicest people, arrived on time, left at 6pm each day leaving the house clean. It was a 3 day install and they finished on the third day. Beyond what they needed to do, Lex walked through things that would be checked by the inspectors even on work they didn't do (GFCI plugs close to where the old unit was), and walked me through why they did some of the things they did because I was curious. We're 3 days in so far, but the installation experience was great, and the daikin system is cooling the house great (and I can already see from the energy monitoring systems we have, it's so much more efficient!).

Initially Khan diagnosed it was a misalignment from our main sewer pipe with City main pipe using his fancy technology. Khan actually showed me the issue as he was diagnosing for transparency. However, to be sure of the diagnosis and not to charge me for unnecessary service, Khan revisited with his colleague and they confirmed that it was the old sewer pipe rusting and retaining waste due to the rust, see attached photos of removed pipes. Khan and his team replaced with all new PVC pipes, all in one day within 5 hours. The total cost was fair and reasonable They were all respectful and professional. I've spent hours waiting at other tire shops, but not here. These guys work efficiently and provide great customer service. I wait in my car and no one shows up. I decide to now go to the Fremont location on Beacon. Normally, there is an attendant to check the air in your tires. I drive there. An employee acknowledges I am there. Another employee says someone will be out. I waited at least 13-15 minutes before I realized--I need to go back to work! All in all--I spent 25 minutes driving around to two different locations. I sat in my car waiting and did not get any air in my tires. I drove back to work with the signal still on my dashboard. Very disappointing experiencing at both locations but especially Union City.

I had a nasty clog backing things up and what turned out to be a small leak in one of my pipes. After a mild panic session, I called Star Rooter in Hayward. From the start, they were friendly and easy to talk to, which honestly helped calm me down. They came out, assessed everything, and let me know my line needed to be snaked. They explained what they were doing, didn't make me feel clueless, and got straight to work. The clog was cleared, and they were also able to fix the leak in my pipes the same visit. Huge relief. Now, plumbing work is not cheap -- and nobody is excited to pay for it -- but they got the job done efficiently and professionally. I'd rather pay once and have it handled correctly than deal with repeat issues. They mentioned there's a 10% discount if you say you found them on Yelp. I'm not 100% sure if it was applied to my final bill, but it's worth asking about when you call. Overall, solid experience. He diagnosed that the leak was due to cracks in the faucet hoses and advised me to purchased a new faucet that he could install the following day. Removing the old faucet was no easy task either as they were fused to the countertop. With a little drilling and some elbow grease, he got them out and whistled while he worked. It was like having my dad or uncle do the repair. Such a nice man. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing plumbing repairs.

So glad I found "East Bay Hydronics" in Emeryville, Matthew is the best with hydronic heating systems. He knew the solution right away, fixed it and also fix the pressure on my sinks. I used to complain about the water pressure and extra time to get hot water, but now it's like magic.
