The hayride was 45 minutes long I believe there was a lot of different Christmas scenes as well as the Grinch!

It was my cousins first time here so we all went for the $8.50 each hayride, not included with the $13 each admission. We took a walk down the corn maze and took advantage of many photo ops. I like the store options better at Silverman's farm but still love and enjoy the products at Jones. I got my mother a bag of apples, my son a bottle of apple cider, and my daughter cranberry pumpkin cookies that she ended up sharing with us. They were fresh with a clean taste. I wish I would have took advantage of the coupon given to me and took the time to purchase some pumpkins before I left, but I rushed on to their nearby winery before hitting the road home.

When we got there we were greeted hello we ran to the restrooms lol as we came out we let the lady know we wanted to do the wine tasting. She takes us inside and says sure Steven will take care of you. It is now a bit after 6p.m He greets us then tells us that wine tasting finished at 5:30pm. When we looked online it did not say we needed reservations and it says it's open until 7:30 and why would the hostess direct us to you if you aren't doing anymore wine tastings. He proceeds that's he's been working all day yada yada and he will ask the manager. She tells him only if he doesn't mind. So he starts the wine tasting. We told him it was our first time. All he did was show us the menu and told us to pick from dry to sweet and he would proceed. Mind you this entire time he is also serving a couple next to us. We all decided on sweet so I'm guessing that makes things easier for him. He was very professional explained all the wines he was about to pour. He did skip the 3rd one which was rose. We hoped he would do it at the end. One of the wines i did not like i asked how can i discard it he shows me a stainless steel bin (which i feel should've been explained in the beginning) and we also had to ask for water it was not offered. A few times we were ready for the next wine but he was busy conversing with the couple next to us. Finally he did 6 wines I said hey you missed one he's like that's it I'm tired i have to go home. Oh okay! One of my friends have him a cash tip for staying to serve us. But I must say as polite as he was there was something about the entire visit that didn't sit well with me. He was overworked clearly and exhausted but I feel he would've stood later anyway since he looked like he was enjoying his conversation with the other couple. Now we decide to stay and drink one of the bottles because it was delicious. And have a small snack . The older lady at the counter said it was too late to drink the bottle at the establishment so we bagged it to go. As we were sitting the server came to us and we ordered the blueberry salsa which was amazing and the chips tasted so fresh. We got water since supposedly we couldn't have the wine there. It was 645 they close at 7:30 . We were a bit annoyed at the lack of communication. We had a cork screw so we opened our and just drank it. Also with the wine tasting you keep the wine glass which is so cute but it was sticky and dirty. Not one person told us they can clean it for us. So when we left the manager asked if we wanted them rinse . Of course she rinsed them and bagged them properly. She even took some pictures for us. It's a beautiful place . We don't live in CT so most likely not come back. It was a cute experience just wish they communicated better between staff members.

Great family operated business! Fun to cut ur tree there every year. Goodies are great too!read more

They are open through 12/20. Who doesn't have trees on the brain right around Thanksgiving? We went the Saturday after and it was a perfect experience, from the selection of trees to the helpful staff to the incredibly low price of $65 per tree. We have a great room with vaulted ceilings in a chalet-style home and have wanted a huge tree since we bought the house 2 years ago. Our first Christmas in this house was last year and we bought what we had thought was a big tree, at 8 feet, but it looked tiny! We had bought it at a lot and the biggest trees were so expensive. I couldn't believe that ALL trees are the same price at Abel's! It's my first time going to an actual farm, so I'm not sure if this is standard. One of the workers asked us what we were looking for and directed us towards the blue spruce area because it had the tallest trees. There is a LOT to choose from here. We found our perfect enormous tree in minutes. What you need to know: -cash or check only -pay first and get a ticket -they provide hand saws but will allow you to bring your own. We brought a chainsaw (not encouraged, but allowed, heheheh) -there are handcarts but you may luck out like we did and someone may drive up to bring your tree down for you -they will wrap up your tree and strap it to your car Finally, tip those dudes! They deserve it. This is a novel concept to me, but apparently some folks actually tailgate here. There's a special lot for that. Now go and get your tree! It's not even 12/1 and with the way everything is going this year, you deserve that perfect tree to make the holidays at home the best that they can be.
