Covid precautions: Great place to go for a safe afternoon. The staff are all wearing masks and keep their distance and they provide hand sanitizer. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There are an amazing amount of trees in every direction. A short walk up the main hill and we located our perfect tree. The first year we went the price was pretty high $90 for a tree and it ended up dying in 2 weeks! How is that possible that a fresh cut tree dies so quickly!? Well our 2nd year back they raised the prices to over $100! We decided to NOT get the same tree as the previous year, hoping it will hold up better. We've been loyal customers at Maple Row Farms for years, but this visit was disappointing. After the hayride, we were dropped at the wrong parking lot (Central instead of West) and struggled to get help. I'm 9 months pregnant, with another mom and three small children, yet one team member didn't know how to help, and another told us to "just walk" and that "that's why you have a phone." The lack of empathy was shocking, especially for a family-oriented place. On top of that, we still paid $130 for a tree. Sadly, this experience has us questioning if we'll return. read more

We went on Black Friday (which is a weekday....) and they weren't honoring their own marketing that mentioned "$8 discount" on precut trees on weekdays. The cashier told us it didn't count as a weekday. Funny part was we were one of MANY people who asked / were told Black Friday didn't count as a weekday. If they considered Black Friday as a "non weekday" - they should have stated that on their website. I will say we went early in the season and they had plenty of amazing trees. We got a beautiful, very very full tree. They appear to be organized, but we went right when it opened at 9am. After that, other customers weren't social distancing. Like others said, there is no help getting the tree to your car or on your car. It's like, drag it or carry it yourself. I can understand they don't tie it to the car for liability reasons, but they don't even help put it on top of your car. We noticed several smaller farms on the way to this tree farm. We may try a more customer focused place next year. read more

Never buy a pre cut tree from Maple Row ...in less than a week the tree started to die and all the needles are falling off I called to get a resolution and the policy is very strict. Its black and white no gray areas in their policy. I strongly recommend cutting your own tree. I thought since I couldn't find a tree to cut on the west side ... I decided to get the pre cut... never again. Lesson learned. Very unhappy customer. read more

It is that time of the year again when we need to drive out and hunt for a Xmas tree in the cold weather while you can just go downstairs and buy it from the stand near your apartment for the same price. Hmm. The experience though! This was my first time at the Xmas trees farm, and I was so excited about it. The best part of this trip was that you get to walk around in the field full of Xmas trees and pick your best, fullest and good height tree. I think Maple Row Farm offers two kinds of trees which are Blue Spruce and Douglas Fir. They might have more, but who cares! Pick up a tag from the entrance and grab a hacksaw from any crates in the farm and start hunting. We were torn between the Spruce and the Fir, but since Fir would be more fragrant, we decided to go with one. We chopped ours and dragged it to the side of the trail where it'd get picked up. You can then collect and pay for your baled tree on your way out. Meanwhile you can take a 7-minute hayride for fun. We picked an 8-foot Douglas Fir. Well, that's actually the height of our ceiling. It was a fun experience for $73 on the weekend, plus they accept credit cards. You'd rather bring a pickup truck, so you can throw your tree in the trunk and off you go. Anyway, bring a tarp, so you won't get tree sap on your car's roof. They provide twine, but you're gonna have to lug the tree and put it atop of your car on your own. Oh don't try coffee or hot chocolate though. read more

My family and I were so excited to have the first experience chopping our own tree down for the holidays! We learned about Maple Row Farm and headed straight over! 4 people who worked there greeted us and told us how to chop, how to tag and where to leave the tree, we did just how they directed. My daughter also picked out a 2' tree she wanted so we chopped that down too, how expensive could that be right? Come to find out ALL trees no matter what the size are $108... and all 4 employees failed to tell us.. I ended up spending $216 because they did not warn us. I was furious. My holiday cheer was replaced with anger and frustration and the women working there had the audacity to say to me "we get tired saying the same thing to everyone" that got me even more angry - that is called doing you job .. which you didn't do. The so called sign they say to warn you? Is the size of my hand .. I'm writing this to warn people, because not everyone could afford a mistake like this. How dare them!!!! read more

Great merriment was had as we chose our tree at Maple Row Farm! A sprawling, family-owned farm, Maple Row grows many varieties of evergreen on their land. We love a concolor fir for its fragrance, and found the perfect tree for our home - but they also had many other beloved varieties that you might want at Christmas... We brought along our dog this year & joined the many other dogs/families in the tree trek. In addition to tree selection, wreaths/other decor & snacks were available. People were also tailgating in the car park - a fun way to gather families with kids & make a day of it. Overall, a great experience & we'll certainly come back again next year. read more

When I ordered 8 yards of mulch from Maple Row Farm, did they actually deliver that much? Quick answer: YES (and a bit more). I had the opportunity to measure what they delivered, since I carry buckets of mulch (by hand) out onto the paths on our property. I fill the buckets exactly to the top and a simple measurement and quick calc gave me 290 buckets. After 2 weeks of hauling, I did a total of ... 302 buckets - over 8 1/4 yards. Be prepared to do it all - even if you chose a precut tree. You basically pay and figure it out from there. We were pretty stunned when the fellow up at the Central Sales location who was "helping" us asked if we wanted the tree tied up. Strange. We put it on top of our car ourselves. No help offered. We were lucky to find cord. We're pretty hardy for two seniors, but it would have been nice if the man offered to put it up on the car. Honestly, there's no great reason to go here when there are smaller, more accommodating tree farms in the area. I'm sorry for the less-than-enthusiastic review, but I shudder to think how lousy their service is on a weekend? Easton is an agrarian community with more than 50 working farms. They rely on seasonal business to eke out a living. My suggestion is to provide much better service. The prices are high. Be aware. read more

I had to give a star in order to post this review. Extremely generous. They say pictures aware worth a thousand words and so I will let my pics write the review for me. I will say that I wrote to the farm before I wrote this review to give them the chance to do the right thing for a customer. And instead Scott said he was saddened that I had such a bad tree and he referred a ny times article for me to read on different types of trees and how they were going to stop selling these trees. Guess that just sucks for me! Then he tells me if I send him a pic of my receipt he would "see what he could do to make it right". Well I sent him that pic of the receipt and guess what? Scott never wrote back! Great product and customer service Maple Row! I don't write bad reviews. But this really upset me. We will continue to keep our tradition alive and cut down a fresh christmas tree but I will never return to this farm. Buyer beware. read more

What a disappointment, have been going there 15 years for Christmas trees, this year we went, spent 118.00 for a tree. Once the tree settled the next day, we saw it was bare on the inside. They insisted we bring the top 3' of the tree in and they would replace/refund the amount. We were given nothing but a hard time from the OWNER of the farm. He said there was nothing wrong, we offered him pictures of the tree and said he didn't need to see them, he just said we didn't like the tree, HOW RIDICULOUS!! They gave us a gift card for the amount, but not after a back and forth hard time. He also said imagine if I had to refund everyone that did not like their tree. Too bad, they've lost my business, and several families business. Merry Christmas!!! read more

Not only aren't their trees very good this year but they are also refusing to help you load and tie the trees on your car. Our tree, which we had to buy pre-cut because so many of the trees in the field were squat and not full, was large and heavy. We were refused help despite always getting help at other tree places. Now my husband and I both feel like our backs suffered trying to lift it. We won't be going back there again. Plus $41 for a plain wreath is a total rip-off. read more

I have been buying my mulch from Maple Row Farms for at least eight years. Their mulch is superior to other places. The company who spreads my mulch use to buy less expensive mulch elsewhere for some of his customers. He now sees how good this mulch is and has switched. As an example, I was actually able to buy 25% less mulch this year as so much of it was still present from last year. A good company with good product. read more

Nice place to get a tree. Not cheap but where is in Fairfield County. Tailgating for your Christmas tree. There are corporations that have huge tents and parties for tree cutting. Massive fields and great trees of all kinds. We've made it a family tradition. Tailgate with cocoa, lunch or a late brunch, or even a few beers or shots to stay warm. We go every year to maple tree row farm to cut down our own tree and we absolutely love this farm. The experience is magical. Bundle up enjoy a hayride to the trees, tromp through the fields to find your perfect tree, kids and dogs running amok and having a blast. What could be better? You saw and tag your tree and drag to the end of the row and its carted down by the tractors. We visit the oxen and grab a cup of hot cider and sometimes a donut. There are wreaths and decorations for sale as well. It's not overly touristy but very well run. Then you find your tree and you tie to your car, drive out and pay on the way out. If it's not freezing cold, tailgating is a great experience with friends. We absolutely love this farm and will be back year after year with our kids and grandkids. Also, fyi there was one year in the past 12 that we got a bum tree, absolutely zero issue getting a replacement after bringing the top 3 feet and the receipt. They are a top notch farm and I highly recommend them! read more

First time visitor. It's 10 days till Christmas and our usual tree farm sold out. Maple Row has acres, upon acres of trees. Plenty of quality trees left, even this late in the season. This farm is very organized and helpful. Large staff...didn't wait long for a worker to drive up and help us load it. We were in and out in 45 min with a great tree! Oh yeah, it's one flat fee of $65 (weekend) for any tree that you cut yourself. Credit cards accepted. read more

So we have been coming to Maple Row for over 10 years now. It is an awesome experience, one that I've had with my children and now are having with my grandchildren. I enjoy all the extras, hot dogs, hot cider, donuts and of course the oxen to name a few. We love all the crowds, the visiting dogs and the wagon rides. What I really don't like is to buy a tree, take it home, make a fresh cut, put it immediately in water and have it start to shed almost right away! This is the second time in the past three years that this has happened to us with trees we had just cut down at Maple Row! I can't believe it! It is so very frustrating and embarrassing! We cut our tree this year like we always do on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and we are hoping it will make it to Christmas !!! I am so tired of picking up my ornaments off the floor because they are falling off the bare branches! I didn't mind giving Maple Row a second chance, but I don't think I can afford to waste my money on a third chance! To bad! read more

We have been a loyal customer of Maple Row Tree Farm for more than eight years, always purchasing three trees for ourselves and treating other family members. When we drive up to pay we give the cashier our coupon that was stapled to the receipt from the prior year and we always received $5.00 off for each tree purchased. This year today the cashier only allowed me a credit for $5.00 off ONE tree because last year the cashier did not give me three coupons. (we've never been given multiple coupons in the past!). My original receipt from last year even showed that I purchased three trees. I asked to speak to a manager. Scott, one of the owners, said that their policy is that I needed three coupons to save $5.00 off each tree. He said that it was their policy and I should have asked for three coupons last year. If it was their policy, their cashier should have been properly trained to staple three coupons to my receipt. I showed him my receipt indicating I paid for three trees last year. He was unfazed and said it was their policy! The great news is that there are many other family operated tree farms in the area that would surely appreciate the extra $200 in sales every year. I will give my business to a more deserving family business and you should also. read more
