Fairplex is the home of L.A. County Fair in city of Pomona. It is more than just county fair, since the fair only last like 5 weeks. The rest of the year, they held many smaller events. Usually only use couple of the exhibit hall. Parking is range from $10-15 depend on the event, there's really no other way get around. The bus doesn't really go here and really force you to use their paid parking lot. There's no street parking anyway in the area. This place is a bit out of dated, and could just some remodel. It does stay its true theme of County Fair in all year around. Not many known this, this was one of the location that possible Disneyland might be build. But because of the weather and kinda too far from most city that pull the plan off the table. read more

Pomona Fairplex is both good and bad depending on the purpose of your visit. Always be prepared to pay to park and to be ripped off doing so. This is regardless of the event being a drag race, car show, the LA County Fair, or some other seasonal event/fair. The venue is technically sound. The realistic outcome is that this place is a mega pain in the butt as you will always, yes I mean always, have to walk at least a mile or two to get to whatever you are going there for. The bathrooms are at stadium substandard and never seem all that clean. The food vendors (fairplex run places only) are crappy at best, and the security/information staff always suck and cant ever really direct you to where it is that you need to go or cause you random problems for no reason. *SMH* Overall no one goes for the fairplex experience but perseveres and endures said experience in order to enjoy whatever event, show, festival, or whatever it is that they are there for. Translation, prepare for the venue to be less than ideal, but hey at least you got to go to an event that you wanted to go to... YAY /sarcasm... read more

Been coming here since the early 2000's for all kinds of events. Staff here were always helpful and welcoming. Place is usually clean and parking can be a hassle sometimes but they do offer shuttles to the main entrance 15-20 mins. Other than that, overall, great place where you come to enjoy your favorite event! read more

Venue is enormous! Especially if your coming to the county fair. Don't bother paying for that premium parking. The parking lot really isn't that big. Very credit card friendly which is a plus for me because I hate carrying cash with me. Been to a few concerts here before as well. Concerts ** highly recommend you get box seats. I would say they're kinda like fried zucchinis, except they are salty, crisp (bites off clean) and lacks the hot soggy wet feeling if that makes any sense. Tasted incredible with the ranch dip. How can you not like the LA County Fair? It holds pleasant memories for me dating way back to when I was about 7 or 8. We took our kids when they were small and now they can take their own children. We continue to visit. My wife and I always go once per fair, though the past two years I worked as a special contractor and was there for about 15 days each season. Once you get passed the parking mess and get inside, there is something to interest about everyone. There are the home improvement exhibits, the housewares, the livestock, etc. You can not miss the livestock! My wife always has to visit the garden exhibits. A favorite of both of ours is the wine tasting and wine education classes. Hungry? Walk 25 feet from wherever you are and you will find some sort of food. There is always something new in the world of deep fried foods. I expect that soon we will see deep fried grease on a stick. If you have even a slight liking for ice cream you MUST visit DR. BOB'S ice cream. His store is out near the livestock area in the northwest part of the the grounds. Dr. Bob's is, without a doubt, the best ice cream I have ever tasted. The shop does work year around and you can make arrangements to get his wonderful stuff anytime during regular business hours. The fun zone rides are something I skip since my early 20's. I understand that you can now just buy a wrist band that lets you on all the rides without buying a ticket for each ride. read more

I have been coming to the Fairplex for Drag Racing since '67. It has come a long way with improvements and additions and is pretty well run for a monster size place. The Drag Race side has always been lots of parking with just a couple of exits. Yes it can be a bit of a wait to exit, but that is what it is when 25,000 people all start home. It is easy enough, just don't get your knickers in a bunch, and better yet travel the pits for a bit after a race day and all the traffic problems evaporate. The Wally Parks NHRA Museum is wonderful for race fans, and the county fair is so big it is impossible to take it all in. Big Facility, and in all well run from my point of view. read more

I've been to this venue for two different events. Hard Day of the Dead 2014 Hard Summer 2015 Personally, I do like the venue. PROS: 1. Very large venue 2. Tons of parking spaces 3. Five stages - two outside main stages, three indoor smaller stages 4. Beer gardens at almost every stage 5. Free water stations 6. Multiple bathroom destinations 7. Lots of food trucks/vendors CONS: 1. Getting into the venue takes a long time 2. The security sucks 4. They only let you sit down on half of the grand stands furthest from the stage 5. Not enough shade!!!! 6. Not enough air conditioning!!!! 7. Too much dirt areas !!! Overall, it's a good place for massive music festivals, but they could use some more work on providing shade and comfort to their customers. read more

This review is for their Grandstand concert area. I attended concerts here before and usually end up with decent seats. This time around my seats just plain old sucked. We purchased tickets for the End of Summer concert series and our seats were on the far right , first you can't really see shit from that angle and the screens are too small to get a good visual of whats going on. The benches are very uncomfortable and I found myself constantly trying to find a comfortable position. Though I loved the performances the seating this time around made the evening suck a little. read more

Reviewing the Fairplex while it was being occupied by the LA County fair. Parking was plentiful and the attendants were pretty good at directing people. The grounds are very large and the facilities are decently maintained. The only thing I would avoid is the male bathroom in the horsetrack building. It's a military style urinal with not quite enough waterflow and it smells like 100 years of piss. No glass bottles or aluminum cans allowed inside the park. I had to down my entire bottled frappucino. There's a nice fountain area to the right of the yellow entrance, which has plenty of shade and is a nice place to relax from whatever event you're attending. read more

Holy craziness that is a fair, this one was awesome. My first time to Pomona for the "LA County Fair" and it was all that and then some. We opted to pay the $20 for VIP parking.. it definitely gets you a better parking spot than paying the $10 and having to wait for the tram at the end of the night. I just don't know where to begin or what to describe. They seriously have everything here and kind of like Disneyland, I feel you need to either get there in the morning or have a game plan over two days. We arrived around 2pm and still didn't experience everything. Food - awesome amounts of fried food, HUGE food and everything in between. Attractions - TONS of rides - I mean, they had a small roller coaster and log water ride. Who does that? Extras - this year, they had 30 food trucks, but by the time we went to find them (wasn't an easy task), they were gone. Huge barn of animals plus various areas for other animal attractions. Lots of shopping. All kinds. Don't even know where to begin. Favorite part - the $0.25 Footsie Wootsie foot massage stations. Trust me. You've been walking around this gigantic place all day in the sun, you're tired and feet hurt, try the footsie wootsie. It's fantastic. We stayed literally through the evening and caught the concert. It was a great show. We were able to see Big & Rich with Gretchen Wilson. Not all bad for a full day. We also lucked out that it wasn't over 100 degrees. read more

Tutto Finito for the "Fairplex" Went a Boz Skaggs/Michael McDonald concert in the grandstand. I had to keep my fingers in my ears for 2 hours as the sound was so bad and loud. Maybe a Vitamin B-1 deficiency? NO - my girlfriend who has attended 50+ concerts says she has never heard such bad and loud sound. Mike McD is unintelligible and raspy - sounds like he has cancer. Even smooth Boz comes across as strident. Oh yeah, then there's the 1/2+ mile walk to the entrance. OH WAIT we had to pay ANOTHER $17 entrance fee EACH to walk thru the Fair to get to the concert venue after a $15 parking charge!. Never again - for anything - no gun shows, no RV shows, no concerts. read more

I went here last year for KROQ's EPICENTER 09, which featured bands such as Hollywood undead (One Hit Wonder for sure.), Alice in Chains (OMG, so good), Linkin Park (Great! But...) and Tool (meh). The parking was TERRIBLE (but then again when is it ever good), but at least they have a tram to take you to the ticket area. The ticket line was TERRIBLE (but then again when is it ever good), but at least there was a cool guy to talk too (he drove all the way from Sacramento!). Next we had to walk all the way through the race track (which in some areas was muddy and by the way, we had to go around almost half the racetrack) through the grass area to the stage. That is wayyyy to long. Why couldn't they just have a direct path to the stage!!!!! The bathrooms ARE GROSSSSSSS. I Hate concert bathrooms or any public bathrooms really but well...what can you do??? There was two stages, one with some really really dumb emo bands (I HATE EMO. Yes. I might look like a scene chic but I hate the music. and Yes I HATE EMO GUYS. SOOOO GAY). Anyways on to the main stage. Hollywood Undead I liked there main song Undead but after a while, it's like whatever. The other songs are either emo rap, or just Linkin Park rip offs. I wish I skipped this band. (sigh) Alice in Chains SOOOO GOOOD. I wish they would have played their song Your Decision but I was fine with their playlist. They played new songs (Check my Brain) and their classis (Rooster, Man in the box, etc.). Great band. Linkin Park I LOVE Linkin Park but when i grew up listening to them it was when Meteora came out (I was like 18 at the time) so I really loved their fusion of sounds style. When Minutes to Midnight came out I was ....dissapointed :( I loved the show that they put on though. They always sound great and have a great playlist but I was NOT happy when Chester brought out his Dead by Sunrise band somewhere in the middle of the show. They really don't sound like anything special. Still loved their classics (Crawling, Numb, Points of Authority, Don't Stay etc.) Tool I'm not a tool fan and honestly I hated all the tool fans there. They were rude and just stupid. The thing I did not like about the show is that it mixed too many different crowds together because of the bands there. Love the fair! The hubby and I always look forward to date night at the fair. This time we brought my parents along and they loved it, first timers! Purchased tix at Ralphs ahead of time for some savings. We parked farrr in section 18, however were lucky to catch the shuttle to the entrance(wait time was about 15 minutes). We purchased tickets to see Ramon Ayala, and that was an awesome time. Nothing beats great music and sharing beers with my dad! read more

LA County Fair Review. This is our second year going to LACF and I'm not sure we will go next year. I get in free becuase I help judge the beer competition, but the "free tix" ended up costing me almost $200 bucks yesterday. The kids got $70 worth of unlimited ride wrist bands, so they had a blast, but what do the adults do? Drink over priced $9 beers? At least they have excellent choices from contest medal winners, but my beer budget was $20 so I only had two. Food...I don't get it. I paid $28 for 4 corndogs and a soda. My wife looked at me like she was on another Planet. We were...Planet Pomona..almost a 2hour RT drive from most of LA. Then all the crap they sell. The shows were a little corny circus, a pretty fun lumberjack demo and $17 for a wine tasting oy. The crowd is so getto. The animals were about the best thing, petting zoo, couple of cute baby cows and who doesn't love a good pig race. I think we are going to buy passes to Knotts Berry Farm for 2012. read more

Attended the winternationals event here last weekend. We opted for pit side parking which was worth the extra $15 charge ($30 total) so that we were able to exit easier than we would have been able to with general parking. Event was well organized, the food and drinks were all in a central location and bathrooms were clean and easy to access as well. read more

Was here this weekend for Hard Day of the Dead music festival. I don't enjoy many venues for music festivals and concerts but I thought the Fairplex was a perfect spot for it. I hated Whittier Narrows Park lol. Pros: -Plenty of parking on-site -Venue is enormous, and spacious. I hate crowded venues where there's plenty of grass or too much dust. I love black top/ concrete ground lol -Stage set ups were great -Bathrooms consistently clean; and literally in every corner. It was never crowded. I never had to wait more than a minute to use the bathroom. -Zip line was awesome -Beer / Alcohol were typical of those at clubs and concerts -Lots of food trucks and stands, reminded me of coachella lol, pricey but typical -Staff were all really friendly Cons: -Getting out of the parking lot was a disaster the first day, and disorganized. Second day was much smoother. -There should be more benches, or some kind of seating and tables lol read more

Fairplex is home to the LA County Fair as well as several other shows and conventions. It's a massive piece of real estate that also bleeds into a horse racing arena, a racetrack, a farm area, a long line of buildings for indoor exhibit space, a huge park with a lake...the list goes on. I think It would behoove the Fairplex people to start a tram between the outskirts of each gate so people don't have to walk a collective 20-ish miles to get everywhere. Then again that is somewhat the treasure of Fairplex, that you can keep walking in a certain direction and run into a gigantic mini-train diorama, or even a gold-mining operation. I personally try to hit the County Fair every year and stuff my face with the insane foods they have there (PS Deep fried BBQ ribs are amazing). I can't say I've ever not had fun here. All that makes this a 3-star is the parking can get kind of expensive, and there is no tram (sore feet at 9pm) read more

I've been to the Fairplex twice. The first was for LA County Fair. I'd thought I'd never return, but came back Sunday afternoon for the Grand National Roadster Show. With much less people than the Fair, the Roadster Show was much more pleasant. Using all of the exhibit halls, the Fairplex was a solid venue for the Roadster Show which displayed an almost endless number of super jazzed up vehicles. For parking, enter through gate #9. It seems counter-intuitive when arriving because the lot is opposite the fair grounds, but there is an underground tunnel that gets visitors from the lot to the exhibit halls. The fairgrounds food concessions were in operation during the Show. If possible, try to visit the free RailGiants exhibit (see http://www.yelp.com/biz/railway-locomotive-historical-society-pomona) which is located in the Fairplex. I give the Fair 2-stars, the Fairplex 3-stars, and the Roadster Show 4-stars. read more

There are lots of changes, especially to the fair layout. They have moved the midway closer to the yellow gate. It's almost feels like you are in Vegas - lots of flashing lights, games, and rides everywhere. There are lots of entertainment options from viewing the tapestry exhibit which houses photography, crafts, jewelry, and clothing to the many culinary competitions like tablescaping and baked goods. There are excellent cooking demonstrations throughout the day. Check out the Fun Guide to plan your day around the demonstrations and shows. As you know, the fair is all about food and lots of it. This year, they have added gourmet food trucks into the mix. There are 4 trucks that are there everyday of the fair: Brats Berlin, Calbi Truck, and Crepe Bonaparte, and Piaggio Gourmet on Wheels. On the weekends, there is a much greater variety of trucks that participate: Macho Nacho Truck, Temaki, Chunk 'N Chip, Paradise Cookies and Ice Cream, The Hungry Nomad, My Tornado Potato, Uncle Lau's Island BBQ, Fresh Fries, Flavor Rush, Gourmet Genie, Bite Me Foods, The Gourmet Sausage Co, and The Yummy One. This coming weekend is the last weekend so check them out. If it's hot on Saturday or Sunday, definitely stop by the Chunk 'N Chip truck. Claudia and team will help you get cool and let you relish in her awesome cookie and ice cream combinations. BOO-YAH! Brats Berlin: First thing, can't miss that truck. It looks like a piece of the Berlin Wall on wheels - a colorful graffiti-wrapped truck. As the name implies, they do brats, really good brats. And they have a nice variety. Choose your heat level which ranges from mild bratwurst to spicy Cajun. Don't forget to get some Belgian Fries with it! Calbi Truck: Korean meats made into tacos and burritos. There is an also an item tailor-made for the fair: Kim Chee Quesadilla. I know, it sounds weird, but the taste is out-of-this-world. You'll have to try one and taste for yourself. It's definitely on my "Must Eat Again" list. Crepes Bonaparte: This competitor from The Great Food Truck Race Season 1 is definitely on its game. For a sweet treat, try the Spicy Apple Bottoms Crepe. It's the best crepe I've ever had. Their crepe batter is truly phenomenal! Piaggio Gourmet on Wheels: You just can't go wrong with anything on this truck. Chef Piaggio and his team crank out gourmet food for hungry foodies like well-oiled machine! At the OC Fair, Piaggio unveiled The EmpaDog; another tailor-made treat for the fair atmosphere and quite addictive indeed! The farm is still in the back corner and there are lots of new babies - piglets, lambs, and calves. They are so cute and their fur is so soft. While you're in the farm area, make sure you get your fresh bottle of chocolate or regular milk. It's ice cold and creamy. Dr. Bob's Ice Cream is a definite "Must Eat" as well. He has all the standard flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. But, they don't call him, Doctor, for nothing. He also comes up with inventive flavor combinations that peak your adventurous side. Last year, it was soy sauce. This year - Ginger. It's candied ginger in a fluffy vanilla base, but there are some bites that can knock your socks off, literally. Also, the Black Raspberry is luscious and smooth. It's full of raspberry flavor and tastes like gourmet frozen yogurt. read more

Turkey legs were moist and delicious! Almost tasted like tender, slow baked ham. deep fried white castle was a disappointment this year, last year it was piping hot and gooey, now they fry everything in big batches for quicker service. Deep fried frogs legs were still a tasty treat. Moist, flavorful, not too game-y for those freaked out about the thought of eating Kermit. the massive 6 inch cake of curly fries was overwhelming but crispy and addictive as most fries are. chocolate bacon was way too chocolate-y not bacon-y enough. funnel cake was warm, crispy, chewy, sweet and comforting, however the COLD strawberry topping ruined the whole thing. It was almost frozen. Gumbo and Crawfish Etouffe were my favorites here (but they are usually my favorite dishes anywhere with my love for Cajun and Creole food. Anything at the fair will always be overpriced so I expected that as usual. Still had fun eating everything and not riding anything! read more

Come here guaranteed twice a year with the hubby for the LA Roadster's Father's Day car show and the Grand National Roadster Show. Not too sure who does the set up at the events, but every year it seems they try to space it out further and further apart and the walk seems longer and longer to see everything. Alot of dead space could be utilized better and just a few more beer stands could be set up. Maybe then the walk wouldn't seem so long :-) Getting in is tricky and when you are forced to park across the street and shuttle in it can be a bit of a nuisance. Definitely needs a bit of renovation. The ceilings often leak when it's raining. No fun. read more

This would be Los Angeles co fair grounds. They have alot going on these days.The fair in sept. is an awsome place with so much to see and do! Almost too much, from everything from pig races to horse races. Competitions for ribbons in just about every category one can imagine. Foods of all kinds, deep fried everything! A midway with multiple rides and games with even more food vendors. Warning the midway is where the gangs like to hang out and cause trouble, especially at night or when it closes, but I must add they normally are going at rivals than the public. I have seen brawls and stabbings even with the very heavy police present. read more

LOVE how there is a LOT of parking =) The Fair was great. We came to see One Republic (last year Ciara) and the concert venue is huge. However if you get seats at the ends of the stage you cannot see well. Still worth coming to cause the tickets are cheap! I love the L.A. county fair and go there every year. The prices very day to day (this year parking was $12 when I came Wed. & Thursday and $15 on a Sunday). Likewise the opening and closing time varies. As long as you check out their website before you go you should be O.K. I recommend Maria's Italian Kitchen as the best place to eat at the fair (plus it's air conditioned!). read more

The only time I'll come to the Pomona Fairplex is for the Asian-American Expo; otherwise, a total rip-off. First of all, $15 for parking??? Seriously??? Didn't it used to cost $10 a few months back? Ok, I know that people are dying for more money and all, but this is just bogus. What can I do with $15? Go to Best Buy and get 2 DVD's on sale. But that's not the thing that made me pissed off on today's visit. From what I had found out, the Fairplex gives us a general admission of $1-$2 to get in for the LA County Fair, but as I headed up to the ticket booth to get my admissions ticket, the lady at the counter told me $15 each. Umm...EXCUSE ME??? Can you repeat that? $15 each. I told her that I thought that the LA Fair would have a general admissions "fare" (pun intended) of $1-$2 on the first day of the visit. The lady said that the $1-$2 admission discontinued 2-3 years back. Yeah, could've let us know then instead of now. I mean, really? Oh...Em...GEE. Wow. Just wow. So, that's another $15. And the prices for the concessions (fair food)? OVERPRICED. Sure, it's fair food, but what do you expect for a hot link Po'Boy sandwich for $12.00 (And that doesn't include a drink)???? Yeah, I should've had breakfast at Village Grille before I came here. But at least some of the foods filled me up for "lunch" today. But yeah, that's the LAST time I will be heading to the Fairplex for the Fair. The food was okay, but didn't have to jack up the prices THAT high. I mean, come on. The last time I spent that much money on myself (or somewhat close to it) was at PowerMorphicon in Pasadena a couple of weeks ago. I recently went to the OC Fair, and just went to the LA Fair. In comparison, the LA Fair blows it out of the water (Same RCS company that provides the fair). LA Fair was a blast, lots of excellent vendors and exhibition halls, and as always, lots of great food! I love the rides, but recently learned that I can no longer handle spinning rides. TIP: Wait to get fast passes. We got them before seeing the lines and ended up only using them a few times the entire day/night. read more

Who here owns a metal water bottle (stainless steel, insulated, etc)? A bunch of us, right? Well, be warned: you can't bring them to the Fairplex. Even though this is a largely outdoor venue, they don't let you bring these items. In addition, you only find out you can't bring it after you check in with security. Which means you either forfeit the water bottle (which we all know are expensive) or you hoof it back with kids, gear, and all to your car (across a huge parking lot) and then all the way back. They have to know this is catching people by surprise - it looks like several times a day. Fair plex - when are you going to put up a sign in the parking lot? Your policy is weird, for sure. My issue isn't with that, but with your complete lack of consideration for how to best prepare your customers for this weird policy!!!! read more

I grew up going here but I missed it when moved out of state for 7 years. I took it for granted cause the other state fairs don't even come close to this one. It's almost the same thing every year with a crap load of shopping but it's my once a year on how much fried and unhealthy foods can I eat bing. You can always get discounts on line. Love caughting the free shows and just walking around. Just sad that I haven't been able to find the Mexican funnel cake truck the past two years. OMG, thoses were good. read more

Extremely inconsiderate company. I am a local resident that has lived 2 miles from the Pomona Fairplex for 5 years and have NEVER had a complaint about noise. Live Nation produced HARD Day of the Dead and the noise was out of control. We complained to the Fairplex, police in La Verne and Pomona- no one was willing to take responsibility. Each police station reported that they were receiving complaints from residents 2-3 towns away. Problem was Fairplex event management -- lots of people selling tickets to get in, very few workers taking the tickets and actually letting people in. Stuck between ticket booth and entry gate for 45 minutes. Ridiculous! I won't do that again. read more

Fairplex, I went here for the RNB Live, and i was really disappointed, maybe not the venue itself and probably was the organization who through the event but goodness I was again super disappointed! They had one stage, and just like two towers of speakers to the left and right of the stage. The turnout of people was a lot of people, and it was like sardines staying in front, so staying in the back you really couldn't hear anything at all! They had a few food vendors there, but the lines were ridiculous!!! Most of them there was a wait of like 45 minutes for people to get their food, on top of people having to wait just to order! Again this review is not for the fairplex, it is for the event that was held there. Not my cup of tea. But it seemed like other ppl there enjoyed the atmosphere. Everything is expensive. For example, we spent 8 dollars for a milk shake. The weather was very hot and so we retreated to the buildings were the ac was nice and cool. read more

This fair is MASSIVE. It has lots of animals, food, rides, and exhibits. It isn't cheap,though. We enjoyed: -the pigs and cows -taking a pic with some sea lions -eating some over prices fair food -riding the giant ferris wheel and spending our family day here together. read more

This review is for the Tap N Run. The fairplex hosted the event. The restrooms were very clean and the staff was courteous.The beer prices are outrageous, but that is pretty much the same at events. read more
