The only time I'll come to the Pomona Fairplex is for the Asian-American Expo; otherwise, a total rip-off. First of all, $15 for parking??? Seriously??? Didn't it used to cost $10 a few months back? Ok, I know that people are dying for more money and all, but this is just bogus. What can I do with $15? Go to Best Buy and get 2 DVD's on sale. But that's not the thing that made me pissed off on today's visit. From what I had found out, the Fairplex gives us a general admission of $1-$2 to get in for the LA County Fair, but as I headed up to the ticket booth to get my admissions ticket, the lady at the counter told me $15 each. Umm...EXCUSE ME??? Can you repeat that? $15 each. I told her that I thought that the LA Fair would have a general admissions "fare" (pun intended) of $1-$2 on the first day of the visit. The lady said that the $1-$2 admission discontinued 2-3 years back. Yeah, could've let us know then instead of now. I mean, really? Oh...Em...GEE. Wow. Just wow. So, that's another $15. And the prices for the concessions (fair food)? OVERPRICED. Sure, it's fair food, but what do you expect for a hot link Po'Boy sandwich for $12.00 (And that doesn't include a drink)???? Yeah, I should've had breakfast at Village Grille before I came here. But at least some of the foods filled me up for "lunch" today. But yeah, that's the LAST time I will be heading to the Fairplex for the Fair. The food was okay, but didn't have to jack up the prices THAT high. I mean, come on. The last time I spent that much money on myself (or somewhat close to it) was at PowerMorphicon in Pasadena a couple of weeks ago. At least the money I spent THERE actually made me find things that are worth spending on!! read more

Who here owns a metal water bottle (stainless steel, insulated, etc)? A bunch of us, right? Well, be warned: you can't bring them to the Fairplex. Even though this is a largely outdoor venue, they don't let you bring these items. In addition, you only find out you can't bring it after you check in with security. Which means you either forfeit the water bottle (which we all know are expensive) or you hoof it back with kids, gear, and all to your car (across a huge parking lot) and then all the way back. They have to know this is catching people by surprise - it looks like several times a day. Fair plex - when are you going to put up a sign in the parking lot? Your policy is weird, for sure. My issue isn't with that, but with your complete lack of consideration for how to best prepare your customers for this weird policy!!!! read more

Came for the Grand National Roadster Show, which was really good. Problem was Fairplex event management -- lots of people selling tickets to get in, very few workers taking the tickets and actually letting people in. Stuck between ticket booth and entry gate for 45 minutes. Ridiculous! I won't do that again. read more

Disaster! not organized and way to expensive, feels like the same old stuff. The more you walk around you like it doesn't change nothing exciting. Very disappointed read more

Not my cup of tea. But it seemed like other ppl there enjoyed the atmosphere. Everything is expensive. For example, we spent 8 dollars for a milk shake. The weather was very hot and so we retreated to the buildings were the ac was nice and cool. read more

Had a great time. Parking was a little crazy but worth the wait, kids had lots of fun and food was different and delicious. Make sure you take comfortable shoes because you will walk a lot. My iwatch said I walked 10,300 steps!! Exhausted but glad we had a chance to visit again! read more

I recently when to the LA Fair. I had a great time, but all and all it's way over priced. You might as well go to Knoxberry Farm or Magic Mountain and spend less. They had a lot of food options. But the fact you pay to get in and then pay an arm and a leg per ride is ridiculous. Last time I went was probably 10 years ago and now I know why it took me so long to go again. My daughter got to bungee jumped, so that was pretty cool. read more

First review of the Pomona Fairplex, home of the L.A County Fair, whaaa...? Perhaps because there is not much to say about it except it's HUGE! Big enough to accommodate many events simultaneously. And it's been there forever. Almost. Commonly referred to as the fairgrounds, once you enter the grounds hopefully you know where the hell you are going, if not you're screwed up and confused until you find the right venue as you meander around a circular street with different gates for the various events that are being held inside one of the several exhibit/exposition halls unless you are going to the raceway or to watch the horses, or some other outside event. The Fairplex plays host to a variety of conventions, the arts, concerts, animal events, and of course....The Los Angeles County Fair. Get more information at www.fairplex.com Parking is plentiful but it ain't free. About 7-10 bucks. If you go anywhere for fun in the Southland, you know you have to carry extra scratch for parking. If you don't know that, you haven't been anywhere. Finding your way out is easier than finding your way in. Just when you thought you'd need to drop bread crumbs to find your way back to the freeway, you're on the freeway. read more

This place has gone downhill really fast . its a swapmeet not a fair .when they took away the horseracing that really did it Boring always a jump in price every year and in Sept in the Inland Empire it gets so hot over priced food parking it just a joke, rides are lame just go to disneyland read more

My daughter who is nine had the pleasure of participating in the kids cooking competition sponsored by So Cal BBQ expo at the Fairplex this past weekend. She had a wonderful time grilling burgers and it was a great venue for her to experience the world of cooking. She was very inspired by other kids who were older and who were also cooking alongside her. The Event organizer Debbie Yopp was friendly punctional and made sure all participants were taken care of. I and my daughter look forward to next years cook off. Madonna read more

Great venue for large festivals! Great, simple layout with all the amenities you'd expect from a venue this size.

I'm torn on how I should rate this review. I went this past Saturday for Epicenter 09. If I had to rate this strictly on the lineup of the bands then it would be 5 stars, but I have to be honest on how crappy the set-up was for this venue. First off, if you didn't pay the $175 for the VIP seating you where basically going to be uncomfortable for the entire day. VIP seating people where allowed to use the "normal restrooms", not the porter pottys like the non VIPs. They where the only ones who had shaded areas, free drinks, and seating. For the rest like myself, we had to walk 2 miles just to the entrance of the venue. We literally had to walk on the muddy track where the horses run. Then just to find a clear spot and sit on some dirty ass itchy grass for the entire day. My friend who had allergies was dying out there, luckily first aid had some benadryl to give her. The cost of food was overpriced, and not great at all. We decided we weren't going to drink because I refused to piss in a porter potty that's been baking in the sun all day. Once the bands started the rest of the night was fine.. I don't think I will ever return to the Fairplex for a concert again, and I refuse to pay $175 for simple advantages that should had been given to everyone. read more

I came here a couple of days ago for a concert and I had such a great time. When you enter the fair there are plenty of employees guiding you to the parking. No struggle getting in, except maybe the metal detectors. I went last year during the day and it was way too hot, probably above 99 degrees. I recommend to go during the night, once the sun has set. The concert was also outdoors. The great thing about it was that we actually had seats and weren't just standing. The fair is also cool because there are plenty of events, food, and rides. read more

We went on friday to the fair and have fun with the grandbabies. I would have given 5 stars but some of the cadhiers at the food places didn't give very good customer service!! But overall had a great time read more

LA County Fair Review. This is our second year going to LACF and I'm not sure we will go next year. I get in free becuase I help judge the beer competition, but the "free tix" ended up costing me almost $200 bucks yesterday. The kids got $70 worth of unlimited ride wrist bands, so they had a blast, but what do the adults do? Drink over priced $9 beers? At least they have excellent choices from contest medal winners, but my beer budget was $20 so I only had two. Food...I don't get it. I paid $28 for 4 corndogs and a soda. My wife looked at me like she was on another Planet. We were...Planet Pomona..almost a 2hour RT drive from most of LA. Then all the crap they sell. The shows were a little corny circus, a pretty fun lumberjack demo and $17 for a wine tasting oy. The crowd is so getto. The animals were about the best thing, petting zoo, couple of cute baby cows and who doesn't love a good pig race. I think we are going to buy passes to Knotts Berry Farm for 2012. read more

Haven't been here in a loooooong arse time. Since I was a kid. Glad to see the big slide's still around. It's a more colorful version; maybe they just painted over the old one. The food and rides are fine, but I did have a problem with the games, especially the basketball ones. From a side perspective, you can see that they bend the rims inward so it's more of an oval, rather than a circle shape. This obviously makes it much harder for the shooter. What a rip. Parking is a nightmare. read more

Pet Expo has nothing to see! $12 ticket plus $9 parking. What a rip off! Just a couple of Pet's products, but instead selling jewelry...??? Dogs wear ear ring??...don't go!! Wasting your time!! read more

Every year the Fairplex hosts a variety of events. Expect to pay $15 for parking...there's a bit of a wait for the shuttle cuz it might not be clear where the fair is in their vast parking lot. The grounds aren't the cleanest but right when you enter get a photo taken by their photographer. A perfect place to have a fair...bring plenty of cash read more

Fairplex offers so many different events, plus they help out the community. And in-between it all they manage to put on the L.A. County Fair! read more

Worst vehicle traffic of all time when exiting the premises. It's been 50 mins and we are still trying to get out of here. At least management should do something about this, waste of time, waste of gas, waste of money. I was here for the Oathtaking Ceremony of a friend and there were 3000 participants equals 3000 vehicles. What happened to the gates and people who work here? read more

WARNING: Avoid using your credit card to purchase parking, food booths, or any business establishment inside this fairgrounds. I can speak from experience multiple times because I got charged twice for parking, and twice for food booths on different events. They pretend the credit card reader doesn't work then swipe it twice, also they'll claim the reader is not working, then go to another cashier and swipe again. I never had any issues with my CC outside this fairplex after the fact. It was very inconvenient for me to dispute these charges with my CC.....just use cash here. I gave 3 stars because other than this, the fairplex is very accommodating and large grounds, have fun! read more

Came here this last weekend for the Hot Rod show. They had a lot of buildings with all different kinds of hot rods. It's a pretty big complex and they had a bunch of food vendors, which was nice but hardly anywhere to sit!! $10 bucks to park and $20 to get in. Not too bad but not great either. I've been to the Fairplex for the LA Fair once before and it was pretty cool. There is a lot of walking but I expect that at a Fair! Gotta walk off all those calories! read more

Prefer this fairplex over the OC's. Cleaner bathrooms & much more ground to cover. Parking lots are confusing, and didn't they used to have preferred parking? Not even a sign for valet (trust me, I'd pay it ... we always get lost & always have too much stuff to bring out after buying too much). Staff is friendly and helpful and regularly maintain the grounds as well. Even the bathrooms, which is a big big big plus as opposed to other complexes. read more

This place holds its own island specifically for shoppers, and many cities scattered throughout for those who want to eat. But if you've come for the rides, you've made the wrong turn. My kids waited 5 hours to take advantage of the $2 ride deal, and were disappointed. Church carnivals host better roller coasters. There were none here. Kiddie rides are 6 tickets each. And if your little ones are under 36", they have to ride with a grown-up (parents ride free with the smaller kids). read more

The Kaboom Show was again beautiful. This year i thought to step up the experience, so i purchased box seats with the buffet. It was five star food. Yummy it was with roast beef, glazed salmon, carrots, fried potatoes with 3 types of salads. Elegant desserts. Chocolate cakes, carrot cakes and many more. read more

Jim T. on 9/21/13 wrote the following for a review on the Fairplex: "If you have even a slight liking for ice cream you MUST visit DR. BOB'S ice cream. His store is out near the livestock area in the northwest part of the the grounds. Dr. Bob's is, without a doubt, the best ice cream I have ever tasted. The shop does work year around and you can make arrangements to get his wonderful stuff anytime during regular business hours." DR. BOB'S ICE CREAM is theeeee best!!! I think it is way better than Handel's, but you'll have to decide for yourself. It's a lot more fattening than frozen yogurt but sometimes you gotta splurge, and they use quality ingredients...no high fructose corn syrup, etc. I agree with everything Jim said, *except* the location. It's on the EASTERN part of the grounds by the farm area, not west. The road just behind Dr. Bob's shop is White Ave. During the off-season (end of Sept.to end of Aug.), you can access Dr. Bob's via Gate 1, or sometimes Gate 12. It just depends on what's going on that day. The scoopers are really friendly and will do their best to accommodate your wishes. I think they only sell pint (or larger) containers in the off-season, but more options during the fair (cones, cups, etc.). read more

Went for warped tour 2016 great experience lots of room the only problem was there was very limited shade.

came here 2011, 2012, and now 2015. INVEST IN SOME GRASS. It would guaranteed launch this land into a kick ass venue $$$. It would tap out San Manuel and NOS events center. This place has a lot of potential. so buy all the cow shit you need, It's going to pay off!! Everybody was blowing their nose and dirt kept snotting out. Parking wasn't too bad but AGAIN the conditions of the land!!!! BARBARIC. This place is a drought. it should be an attraction at Universal studios read more

I went for Oktoberfest and for warped tour. So I got to see 2 different parts of the venue. Both parts were very nice. It gets a lot of business so the earlier you get there the better your time will go since you won't wait in line much and have good spots to see performances. Leave early too to avoid the traffic. read more

Went there paid $10 for parking to see the Spa show. What a joke we were there 26 minutes including the time to park! The spa people ignored us and when they found out we were just looking they walked away without answering our questions! We found out one spa was $60,000.00 ! What a waste of time! read more

This is where they have the Pomona fair every year. We came here on Sunday to see two things... the spa sale and the harvest fest. The spa place was in a small warehouse location with about 20 different units on display. Not that many customers and a few car salesman type sellers trying to sell you something... and telling my you stories why you should buy their product and not anyone else's, etc. the harvest fest was in a huge warehouse building with lots of craft booths and a handful of eateries inside. Many fall and Xmas items available... some where hand made and others were regular store items. Clothes, ornaments, knick knacks, paintings, crafts, wood items, musical items, jewelry, gems, etc. the msg you would find in an outdoor craft fair, just inside a giant warehouse setting. I would go again to see this! read more

Sprawling, far flung and hot in the summer: welcome to Pomona. The LA County Fair is my reason to visit this "exposition complex," which is A-OK for county fairs with fried food of every stripe, strange things people do with chocolate and bacon, red velvet funnel cake, carnival rides and games, souvenir plastic mugs, and delicious smoked turkey legs. Walk around with a beer in a souvenir glass and you'll be a happy camper. read more

Hot tub and spa show - disappointed, only one vendor with one make of spas. The factory direct price seems high. A two person tub the size of a home bathtub is 3000.00. Parking was $10.00. I would not recommend this event. read more

The event RCX show. There was plenty of room, but the vendor booths were not full, sign of the times I would assume. The meal, the BBQ that's posted up out there. MAN talk 'bout over priced BS.
