    Amazing dinner in the lobby

Just an older historical hotel that has been kept up to date and has an amazing location. Staff were fantastic at every level and even had Concierge level service. This spot is great if you want to attend a Blue Jays game or see the CN Tower which are both within 10 minute walks. The Eaton center or center shipping district is a 20 minute walk.

The Fairmont Royal York was chosen for our annual meeting this year, several years ago. It was the headquarters hotel but I chose to stay a few blocks away at the Sheraton to get some exercise and have some separation from the people I worked with for 10-hour days. It's in a great location downtown across from Union Station and near many restaurants, hotels and the Convention Center. I was pleasantly surprised that the "the path" which is the underground pedway goes all the way to the Sheraton and on to Union Station, with shops and food options along the way. (I was thrilled that there is a Tim Horton's and a Starbucks.) There's a Pandora and some clothing stores too. The hotel itself is iconic. Very elegant with beautiful fresh flowers in the lobby and gorgeous fixtures. The lobby bar is convenient and the staff were all courteous and attentive to our team. Prices are very high but it was a great choice for our multi-day conference.

Beautiful property with tons of history and memorabilia from famous figures who have stayed in this hotel. Fairmont Royal York is a great option if you are looking to stay close to Union Station while remaining with in walking distance to the CN Tower and waterfront. This property is iconic and has been part of the Toronto skyline since 1929. My husband and I picked this location based on their amenities and proximity to the places we were visiting. Check-In For our stay, we chose the Fairmont Gold Suite King NS which included access to the dedicated Gold Lounge on the 18th floor, concierge, and beautifully appointed rooms. The Fairmont Gold option is touted as a hotel within the hotel. The private floor check-in is on the 18th floor where our concierge explained the amenities and property. Other amenities included are continental breakfast, afternoon canapés and honor bar. Josh, our Gold Concierge, was wonderful. He had anticipated our needs and even had wonderful note, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of sparkling waiting in our room. Room The Fairmont Gold Suite King NS room was simply amazing. The decor, textures, placement, and overall aesthetics blended beautifully. We had the corner room and had a lot of natural light. The bathroom was luxurious and had all of the toiletries. There was a stand up shower with aroma therapy cartriges, separate toilet and large soaking tub. There were 2 services. We had the morning housekeeping and an evening turndown. Lounge The 18th Floor Gold Lounge is definitely the place you would want to relax and sip cocktails after a long day of traveling. The decor is pleasing to the senses. Seating was comfortable and the see-through fireplaces adds a cozy ambience. Continental breakfast is served from 7 AM to 10 AM and afternoon canapés 5 PM to 7 PM. The Gold Lounge has multiple Nespresso machines, selection of alcohol, wines, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks in between service periods. Dessert was served around 8 PM and lasts to 10 PM. Service This is what sets the Fairmont Gold apart from other brands. The staff was attentive. We had a last minute request for dinner reservations at Reign steakhouse and was immediately completed. Our concierge Josh was very helpful and overall wonderful to talk to. The lounge staff consistently checked in and ensured cocktails were refilled.

I loved my stay at The Fairmont! We were able to check in early with no hassle, rooms were clean with all necessary amenities. Location was in walkable distance to plenty of food and drink or a short Uber ride to various other parts of Toronto. The lobby is elegant with a twist of modern chique decor. My absolute favorite part of this hotel is the convenience of their cocktail bars, especially the Library bar. Its aesthetic was amazing and every cocktail had a book reference. BEWARE however of the mini fridge bar sensors and be sure to physically check out to ensure you weren't charged for something that was not taken. I took a water but was charged for two items when I checked out.

Stunning hotel. We were absolutely shocked when we walked out of the train station to find that our hotel was conveniently across the street. We got lucky; we had no idea we were booking one of the most centrally located hotels in Toronto, and one of the most beautiful. The lobby is absolutely stunning, and the bar/restaurant area is always booming. The hotel staff were friendly and extremely professional. The room was comfy, and clean. The hotel concierge was super helpful in helping us get a rental car and giving us great tips on how to navigate Niagara Falls. We loved our stay here! It was absolutely great.

This is a lovely property with a lot of history, going back to the first days of the Canadian Railway. The restaurants and bars are beautifully decorated and you can see the history at every turn. What's really impressive is the staff. Every single person went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and anticipate needs. I will definitely stay here again.

The reception staff Wil at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. We did not want to spend on the Fairmont Gold, as it was foung to be doubke the price. So we booked a regular room with a king-size bed. The room size was okay. Bed was comfortable . We can hear people talking in the hallway. I think the doors are not insulated enough. The bathroom was a bit small but it was clean. The closet was super tiny. The location is super! Right across Union Station. Easy access to public transport. We took the train toeverywheree. Short walking distance to CN tower. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion is by Lelabo. I would book again at this location. There's a small takeout counter for coffee and pastries by the side of Reign restaurant. The croissant is delicious, and the cappuccino is good. Pricing is okay, considering it's at the Fairmont.

First time staying overnight for a Staycation to celebrate milestones with friend. We booked via their website for a King room. When we arrived we were "upgraded to a renovated Queen room"... Not very impressed by that. But we were tired and it was late, so we just took it. The renovated room looked clean. Appliances and fixtures did look newer. Our room was missing a bathrobe though. With two guests, you'd expect two of them. But there was only one. And our bathroom was missing shampoo. So we had to call the concierge for assistance. In the morning we got room service for breakfast and that was great! Courteous service over the phone and in-room. The food was excellent and exceeded expectations.

I recently had a one-night stay at this historical hotel and were it not for a few things I would probably have rated my stay with 5 stars. The location could not be any better, with the hotel conveniently located in front of the train station, at a walking distance from the CN Tower, the Aquarium and the Metro Toronto Convention Center, and with a lot of restaurants nearby. I arrived by taxi and had a lot of suitcases. To my surprise, there was no porter available to help. The reception is located on the upper floor and since I arrived at street level, I had to carry my heavy suitcases- one by one- across the stairs. When I made it to the top, I saw the porters having a jolly time in their little office and talking among themselves. I was pissed. The reception staff is great: they were professional and despite the longer than usual wait, I appreciated the interaction with them. The lobby is magnificent, with a gorgeous bar and a very "Old Europe" feel. My room was small but spotless clean. To be honest, for the rate I expected a much larger room but I was overall pleased with it. The bathroom is really small. There are amenities from Le Labo. I had to call room service because the wall-mounted shampoo bottle was empty so I would recommend they better inspect these things when they get rooms ready? During my stay I had dinner at their Library Restaurant and loved the service.

Wow, this is a massive hotel and you could get lost as we did! But eventually got the hang of it. The lobby is beautifully decorated and grand. Our deluxe double room was very big and double the size of the regular room. We asked for a fridge and a microwave which they brought to us relatively quickly. The location is very convenient and we didn't need to walk outside much since the path was easy to access. We also took the subway which was right across the street. Overall, we had a lovely time! Check out the hot tub, sauna and pool too! Pool was smaller than we expected but still ok.

Staff were very friendly and responsive throughout my stay. I was upgraded to a one bedroom which was welcomed. The room was large and comfortable. Better than the family's last stay in SoCal. The only room issue i had was the location of the in room safe. It was on the top shelf of the closet and the closet door blocked the safe door from opening fully. The other issue was 1 out of 3 elevators was offline the entire stay. It did make the waits a little longer. On the second floor was a very small gym but it did have a multifunction weight gym and cardio equipment. A water dispenser was located here. The heated indoor pool and spa was in the room next door. Breakfast was decent with a rotating menu over my stay. Scrambled eggs, omelettes, pork or turkey sausages, egg bites, seasoned potatoes, etc were some of the hot offerings. Cereals, breads and prepackaged yogurts were some of the cold items. They had both regular and oat milk which was nice. One note was that you have to provide your name and room before being admitted. There was a good amount of seating and was never crowded. In the evening the bar was open. Would come back and stay here again.

They especially enjoyed looking out the large window at the convention center, CN Tower and Lake Ontario. It was also nice having the extra (1.5) bathroom. The beds were very comfortable to sleep on and the housekeeping staff was almost invisible (a good thing). Since we got club level, it was convenient to grab food and snacks in the club lounge. Quite kid friendly, although with toddlers we were a bit self-conscious of our kids being too loud and messy. You can imagine my terror when my 18 month old threw a cup of milk on the lounge carpet. Luckily, the lounge staff is wonderful and welcoming and were very understanding of this mishap. The pool is very nice and heated. A little less picturesque than the St. Regis pool (which is located on a high floor) and smaller than the Shangri-La pool but still very nice. There are other amenities that are good for kids such as a free treasure hunt, complete with a prize at the end. Ritz Kids also has other paid activities that we did not do like baking classes, in-room camping, movie nights and family picnics. The hotel itself is conveniently located near the CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, train museum and Rogers Centre. Most of these venues are within 10 minutes walking distance. I think it is also near the underground PATH, that connects many of Toronto's downtown buildings so you can avoid walking outside if so desired. Overall a great luxurious and family friendly hotel in downtown Toronto. Great for families visiting harborfront, CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium or Rogers Center. The price is pretty on point with the central location and the quality of the hotel. I did find a few things that I think could be improved. The hotel rooms are starting to show their age. I had a room that had a cracked mirror and a cracked sink. My remote control was sticky for some reason... The most annoying part was that I couldn't adjust the thermostat. There's a thermostat in the room, but no matter how I changed it, the temperature never seemed to change. I had to talk to the staff to ask them about adjusting the AC, and they made it sound like they had to adjust it. The bathroom lights were located on the outside of the bathroom which is stupid, there was only one hook in the bathroom for towels, no hand towels, a scale that did not work, and no vanity space. The room is only equipped with three drawers in an armoire and massive tv that only displayed about 40 in of actual screen. The bar, Mister C, located off the lobby is also chic but over priced bar. The bouncer was not the nicest to the hotel guests even though I was sitting outside drinking water, he was convinced I was have an alcoholic beverage and went off about how they would get fines. I don't care. I'm drinking water? The club can get pretty busy and there is also a busy club on the rooftop, so if you're trying to get to your room at night, you're waiting for the elevator for a long time. The service elevator is located next to all of the guest elevators and did not open for guests. So in this giant hotel, there are only 2 functional elevators for guests. when we came back to the hotel after being out all day (about 4 pm) on our first evening, the room was not cleaned yet. When I called the main desk to ask why our room has not been cleaned, he said they should be coming soon. I've never stayed at a hotel that cleaned so late in the day. There was a broken roomba in the hallway and I knew it was broken because there were crumbs that sat in the hallway for the duration of my entire visit, about 4 days. 65$ to park your car EVERY NIGHT and $35 resort fee to do so. Insane amount just to park your car here. The pool closed yesterday at 5:30 pm to accommodate the night club that would be open. Our waitress tried to get us to close our tab an hour before closing. Meanwhile, it took 30 minutes to get our drinks and food. They were the most busy I've ever seen but the restaurant on the roof has SO many staff members i couldn't imagine it's an issue and almost a daily thing here. They also charge per person if one person gets still water. While this hotel was very beautiful, it has a lot of kinks to work out before I would consider staying with this chain again.

Loved the Byredo toiletries, that felt on par with the price of the room, but the room itself was like any other budget hotel room EXCEPT the mini fridge was occupied by all the overpriced drinks one could buy, so there was no room to use it. This hotel doesn't even offer the things you might expect from a budget hotel option (like breakfast). It's also $65 to valet park your car each night. The breakfast buffet was not horrible but also not great in some regards. They did not have skim milk which is okay but the selections were a bit lacking, esp of healthier options IMO. But it was still quite good. i had a voucher from my company so I could not tell you the price. The hotel is nice enough, the doors at the entrance are a case study in human factors engineering since you veer to the right to go in then sharply veer to the left to get through the ante room to the lobby. There are 4 elevators and there is a huge column that requires you go look at the floor indicator bar where there is an arrow adjacent that says if you need to look on the other side of the pillar for your cab. The staff was nice and the room was clean. There is a starbucks in the lobby that can charge your room but cannot use the app. https://youtube.com/shorts/UuKuv8EbVrg

A very nice hotel in the heart of Toronto. I stayed for three nights and enjoyed my stay. The…read morelocation is awesome with just about everything you'd need close by. And by that I mean coffee shops (I suggest visiting French Made), restaurants, some shopping, things like that. The lobby itself is pretty with a giant koi pond with a fountain-like structure in the middle. There's also the bar and some tables and chairs. Near the elevators you'll find a mini store with snacks, drinks, and things you may have forgotten to pack. My room was a good size and to my surprise the bed was comfortable and I was able to sleep rather well. One pet peeve of mine at hotels is when the shower is impossible to turn on without getting wet, which was the case here. The lighting in the bathroom also wasn't the best. Thankfully I brought my own mirror so I was able to do my makeup in front of the window. Overall, better than the average, but not quite five stars.

Although beds were comfortable and we had a great sleep, we all agreed we were not fond that there was no head boards, which made it uncomfortable to sit up in bed. It was all hard empty space behind the mattress, which was too wide to pile up the pillows for sitting up. Bathroom was spacious. Rooms were very, very quiet, and we barely heard a peep in the hall or doors slamming. No loud steps or jumping from the rooms above us. Lobby was inviting, clean and fancy. There was a small table inside the lobby with crayons and paper for kids. Restaurant and washrooms below (you can take stairs or elevator down) Some food options close by (Starbucks attached to the building, Tahinis across the street, and Wendy's down the street). Bulk Barn and Shoppers Drug Mart just down the street for snacks/essentials.
