We had a lovely one night stay here , and the hotel is really beautiful. The staff is very nice and location is prime in a walkable area. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with Le Labo amenities (extra star!). We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and food was solid. I loved reading about the history of the building, they've really transformed the property well. read more

Summer, summer, summer tiiiimeee. The outdoor rooftop bar is officially open and I was able to experience it a couple of weekends ago, just in time for the summer solstice. I had a free hotel stay from my credit card and I decided to do a one night staycation here. I heard parking was pretty expensive so I just parked at The Pike Outlets and walked over. Inside, the hotel lobby looked so nice and welcoming, they just opened last year so everything looked pretty brand new. Check in was quick and the staff were very helpful and nice. I got the king bed deluxe room with the city view and it was so stunning. The view from my room was nice and the bed was pretty comfortable. Bathroom had le labo soap which I thought was cool. If you do decide to stay here, beware that they charge a $40 per night urban experience fee that you can use as a credit at any of their restaurants or the spa. Make sure to pay attention to your invoice after you check out cause I end up getting charged the $40 even though I ate at one of their restaurants. They were quick to resolve the issue for me so I didn't deduct any stars for this review. Overall, I had a nice stay at this hotel and it really felt like a vacation for me. read more

After over a year, a new GM later, this place still is a MESS!!! HOW does this fall under the Fairmont umbrella??? This is more Fairfield brand under Marriott. My friend was coming into town for one night, April 5th. I told her to try the Fairmont. She booked w/Amex got the room upgrade, credits, late check out, etc. blah blah blah We divided to do breakfast on Monday morning. I believe it wasn't the hostess who sat us, but a busser. He took us to the back right against the sliding door. I asked if we could get a table away from a door. I started to walk more towards the almost empty front of the restaurant. I was given a lecture from him saying "those doors don't exit so it's not an exit". WTF... in a 4+ star , nearly EMPTY space, I don't need a lecture. Then our waiter comes and greets us, tells us no bake goods are available today since the pastry chef called out?!?!?! He offered croissants but couldn't confirm if they were fresh from TODAY. The plating when our breakfast was on par with Denny's or a diner. (See below) I'm aghast at the low bar here. We had apps and cocktails at the only daytime bar available. Our charcuterie board looked like a teenager and Instagram tried to make one for the FIRST time. (See below) This is just sad!!! The presentation of the food, two separate, times and time places within the hotel shows and speaks volumes, negatively. Please go to our lower end hotels around Dwntwn... use the money you save for small locally owned restaurants and businesses or simply tip extra... but don't waste your money here. Don't be fooled by the brand, Fairmont, I'm sure it won't last and will be forced to re-brand to a lower name soon, Courtyard. I apologized to my friend and took her to dinner at A's PCH for decent food. read more

From arrival to departure, everyone was great. Serena took care of us when we checked in.

Centrally located, amazing renovations, stunning roof top pool, and gracious front end staff. Immediately you can sense the priority they place on keeping the hotel clean and routinely we saw maintenance staff cleaning, painting, and repairing every corner of this exceptional hotel. There is nothing worse than a fine hotel skimping on appearances, but Breakers will not be found within that irk. Now the bad. We got the largest suite, which by modern standards is quite small and after a few days we felt rather confined, but other than that it was lovely. Also, in order for you to park your car you have no other option other than valet which will cost you $50 a day. But other than that everything is perfect about this exceptional hotel. read more

I didn't stay at the Fairmont Breakers, but since I live walking distance, my boyfriend, our dog, and I decided to stop in for a quick coffee run, and it ended up being such a lovely experience. I ordered the Iced Raspberry & Dark Chocolate Mocha Latte and it was out of this world, a solid 10/10. My boyfriend got the Iced Lavender White Mocha, and his was just as incredible, smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The staff was so kind and welcoming to all of us, including our dog, which made the experience feel even more special. My boyfriend paid around $30 for both drinks plus tip, which honestly felt more than fair considering the top-tier service and quality. I'm definitely coming back soon for a spa treatment, and I'm seriously thinking about booking a birthday dinner here next month. The hospitality, the vibe, and the drinks? Immaculate. read more

We left the hotel in the morning and returned around 3 PM, expecting the room to be cleaned, but it had not been serviced. We informed the staff and were told it would be cleaned later. When we came back again around 4 pm PM, the room was still not cleaned. We then called the front desk to ask if housekeeping could come at that time. Instead of helping, the front desk staff was very rude and dismissive. They blamed us, claimed that we had refused cleaning earlier (which is not true), and then no apology offered . We did not refuse cleaning -- we simply asked for it to be done later, which should be a very reasonable request. The lack of basic housekeeping combined with the poor and rude attitude from the front desk made this a frustrating experience. Disappointing service and unprofessional handling of a simple issue. read more

I read about this in the reviews, and hoped that it would not happen to me. Yet, here we are. I WAS CHARGED TWICE FOR MY ROOM! I paid for my May 2025 room in December 2024. 5 stars for the view on the rooftop bar, Halo! Five stars for the indoor bars around the windows at the Skyroom. For my birthday after-party, my friends and I headed to The Breakers. We started at the Sky Room, but the hostess/bar manager curtly informed us that it was strictly for reservations and sit-down dining only. She directed us upstairs to Halo, the rooftop "standing" bar. Halo had a cool vibe with stunning views, but the layout was odd--tons of space, yet barely any seating. Everyone was crammed into walkways and ramps because there were only a few scattered couches and chairs. It felt like they missed an opportunity to make it more inviting with additional seating. Then came the real surprise: both rooftop bars closed at 10 PM--on a Saturday night! Seriously? The jazz club downstairs, Alter Ego, stayed open until 11 PM, but it was packed to the brim with everyone who had been kicked out of the rooftop bars. Once that closed, they pretty much herded us out of the hotel, leaving nowhere to hang out except for a few random chairs. Beautiful spot, but the setup and timing? Total buzzkill. When asked, some of the bartenders said management was experimenting with the closing times, rooftop layout etc. In 22 of our opinions, as that is how large my group was, we don't agree with the bars closing at 10 and for limited seating on the rooftop. Totally & highly recommend Halo for at least a drink. if you can have an appetizer/dinner at the sky room, totally recommend that as well. Have not eaten there but the ambience is beautiful. But other than that, drinks nothing special just overpriced. It's all about the views! read more

I'll make this short and sweet. The entire staff, from desk to restaurant and bar to housekeeping, was exceptional on my recent stay. The hotel itself, is stunning. The restaurants and bar have character and the rooms are luxurious. Food and drink quality top notch and maybe the best burger I've ever had. The branzino and salmon were delicious. Awful experience here. Service is extremely slow- in the restaurant, pool, and room/guest services. Expect long lines and long wait times. They say they are dog friendly but do not offer dog bowls, dog beds, no dog treats, nothing except allowing dogs in the building. Located in the ghetto. Homeless people in every direction you walk, including sifting through the trash can located in front of the building. I was harassed every single time I walked my dog around the block. Awful time here. I couldn't wait to leave. Then they double charged my card. read more

Incredible building, fantastic staff and quality food options. This hotel has made my work trips tolerable; I will for sure be back!

I'm a Long Beach native and by far, this is one of the most beautiful hotels with an old school charm, using an old school building from the 1920s. The best looking hotel if you want a 20 century, high end vibe. Everyone seems nice, friendly, as you would expect in a nicer establishment. Amazing looking restaurants, bars, the decor is sublime in a early 20th century kind of way. One small note, I had "one shot" of a high-end gin, Monkey 47, with tax and a 20% tip, I was charged $42!! That is an absurd markup in cost, especially if I'm NOT in a high end, exotic destination or a world class European vacation spot! At least that would justify the absurd price of that "one shot". Or maybe I don't get out much? read more

Amazing! What a classy classy place. They have turned this historical landmark into a dream. We started at the hotel lobby bar for some cocktails before dinner at the Sky Bar and wow service is incredible. The passion fruit spritz is so refreshingly delicious. My friend got the Margarita and equally as delicious. Now dinner at Sky Room was the feature and our steak was cooked to perfection. You must order the Bananas Foster for dessert: it's decadent and a show. The ice cream is made in house. And again, service is superb! Went up to check out the Halo bar and the views... oh wow. Then down to Alter Ego Jazz bar for after dinner libations. Now this was end of the night class. The Fairmont is all About service, class, and amazing food and drinks! I can't wait to come back. What a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel! Aside from the excellent room and warm service staff, the real standout has been the flat-out fantastic cuisine at Nettuno, the in-hotel Italian restaurant. Chef Giuseppe is a treasure - every dish has clearly been given special attention, has been served perfectly cooked, and has really underscored our vacation. We've enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, each a perfect execution of exactly what we've wanted - from the stuffed filet mignon, the branzino, and the delicious bolognese, to the breakfast duck hash and perfectly poached eggs on focaccia, we've had nothing but the best. We have not felt any need to dine outside of the hotel, and plan to finish out our stay exploring the entirety of the menu with excitement. From young child to grandparent, everything has been enjoyed by all. Mille grazie! read more

I had a lovely lunch with a friend today here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Starting with the valets, who were friendly and pleasant. Our waiter in Nettuno was Chris, he was so attentive yet gave us the space and time to enjoy our lunch. The others who were working with him were also very good. The food was amazing, too, perfectly cooked and delicious. Claire was especially kind to us though, she showed us around and was just so nice. 4.5/5.0. I found the service to be top notch during my 1-night stay earlier in the month. Easy check-in, quick room service, nice bar staff. The room was clean and well-appointed too. My only complaint is that there was a bit too much light in the room at night while trying to sleep (hard to get it fully dark) and I could hear some road noise. If it weren't for those two points, it would have been a 5.0/5.0. For now, will round to such for Yelp purposes since the rooms not directly overlooking the road may be quieter. read more

The glass views over looking the city at the Halo bar has hard water build up and is poorly maintained. If this place wants to pride itself in being luxury, management needs to get with the developer and redesign the windows surrounding the Halo Bar so a day porter can clean them daily from the outside. It was a disgrace when you look out over the beautiful vistas to be met with gummy blotches allllllll over the window. I'm in IT for luxury high rise property management and seeing the windows that filthy was appalling for being considered "luxury". The valet was more responsive and hospitality oriented than the service members at the Halo Bar. read more

This was my first time checking in and it will be my last. For those looking to book a conference, please read about my experience below before doing so. No one should have to experience what I did at a "landmark hotel" . My organization was having a conference at this hotel for 3 days. I checked in the night before at 8:30 pm, because my organization had booked my hotel room for x3 nights and I had the confirmation for it as well. I was just expecting to verify my confirmation at the front desk and check-in to my room like I have been with other hotels I've stayed at. When I was trying to check-in, the girl at the front desk said I had to pay for my room, otherwise I couldn't go in. This didn't make sense to me, because my booking was already confirmed and my organization had already placed a card on file for attendees of the conference. Any charge relating to the hotel and the members of the conference were to be placed on the card on file. To reiterate, the organization had authorized the hotel to place charges on the card on file. I mentioned this to her, but she didn't seem to get it. She was adamant about getting my personal card. She didn't even attempt to look into the conference that was being held or see if there indeed was a card on file for this specific event. I explained to her that this wasn't right and if I could stay that Tuesday night, because my organization was already closed. Thus, I couldn't get in touch with the coordinator who booked my stay. Again she asked for my personal card and charged me $787.84 for the 3 nights. Due to suspected fraudulent activity, the charge did not go through. She then charged me a second time WITHOUT telling me, but this time for an amount of $1,087.84. I only knew about this, because I got another suspected fraudulent charge notification. In the midst of trying to figure all this out, she made no attempt to seek assistance from a manager nor did she tell customers behind me that she would be right with them. Rather she asked that I move to the side so she could help other customers. I felt embarrassed and shocked she would treat guests in such a manner. For a hotel that prides itself with "world-class service" on its homepage, her service was nothing near "world-class". When I got back to the front desk, the manager was there and apologized about the issue. He PROMISED that my personal card would no longer be charged and that he would be okay with me staying that Tuesday night. All that he asked was that I pay a refundable $300 accidental insurance fee, so I did. The girl at the front desk was standing by the manager and did not say a word. By the time I was in my hotel room, it was 11 pm. It took almost 2.5 hours to figure all this out. If the girl at the front desk knew better, she either would've sought assistance from the manager right then and there avoiding this 2.5 hour situation or told me about the refundable $300 fee and allow me to figure out the situation the next morning since it was late at night. I just don't understand why she didn't attempt to check the card on file by the organization and place the charges there. The next day, my conference coordinator got in contact with the hotel and assured me I would not be charged any further. The next morning at 7 a.m, I saw a charge of $193.92. I spoke with the manager and she refunded me. She said that management didn't communicate well about the situation that transpired so that's why my personal card was charged again. It was evident management from Tuesday night and all of Wednesday withheld information from other management teams, blindsiding its own. I told the manager that morning that I will no longer be staying, because management is not trustworthy. As a patient on medications, I experienced severe anxiety and panic attacks after I walked away from the desk. Tuesday night was outright embarrassing, unprofessional and time-consuming. Thursday morning was just full of anxiety all over again having to deal with the same situation. I sincerely wish management and its business the best read more

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Breakers Sky Room at The Fairmount Hotel. The service and overall management of our party was terrible. It was a birthday celebration of a party of 14. Despite management knowing in advance that we were a large group, we were seated completely separate on opposite sides of the restaurant. They apologized with no solution. After sitting a few minutes, tables opened up for the other party of 8 to sit in the same vicinity. It took about ten minutes for management to finally move the other party. Management seemed to be annoyed for us asking to be seated together again. We shouldn't have had to ask - they should have volunteered to place the other party closer. Now that we were all together, the birthday boy was visiting tables to take pics and congregate. Management came over and asked that he NOT do that because he was disturbing other guests. There were other guests BUT NOT in our vicinity. For an upscale restaurant, things were just off. We had to ask multiple times for more water, wait for our drinks from the bar or went up to the bar for ourselves. Breakers is going to be on a great LONNNNNNG break from me! read more

Everything is wonderful. This was our third day at this lovely property and we have already booked another stay this spring. The location of the property the beauty of the renovations, the food and service in its various restaurants... Everything is five stars. I almost haye recommending it too highly, in that I may be making it challenging to get a future reservation, but something is good cannot be kept a secret for long.
