LOVED the stay here! we were pleasantly suprised by how nice the room and amenities were. the bed in the room was delightful, and i sunk right into it. the room also had a nice large shower and a large window that opened up along a busy street which i enjoyed. one of my favorite parts of this place was the location because it is within walking distance from the mall, the beach, multiple coffee shops, and a theatre. many other things too! the theme of this place is "ship" i think because there were many decorations that looked like it would be apart of a boat. lastly, there is a nice courtyard with fun games to play, along with seating area. this would be a great area for kids or lounging. i would definitely stay here again!!

Stayed here for a one night staycation and had a wonderful time. As Hyatt discoverists, we got upgraded to a mini suite and everything was great - bed was super plush, cozy, and comfortable. Loved the spacious rain shower with excellent water pressure. Staff were so friendly and hospitable. The hotel was also walking distance to so many things. It was a perfect one night staycation. Long Beach has really come a long way from years ago!

Great location at Pike Place! Walking distance to shopping, food, drinks, beach, and shoreline! Clean and big room with a very comfortable bed. If you get late night munchies, there is a small store in the hotel lobby to buy snacks. Our room in particular had a noise coming from the vent, which had been fixed.

This is a great location if you are going to the convention center, only about 2 blocks away. Right next to the Pike outlet mall, which can get pretty busy. It was pretty noisy over the weekend. They were having some issues with one of the elevators so it took a long time to get an elevator. Almost got stuck on the elevator one night. The room was nice but the beds had lights on the bed frame that had a motion sensor. It's a nice feature for getting up in the dark but it's extremely sensitive so several times I rolled over in bed and it went off and the light from the bed next to me was shining in my face. The restaurant is good, had breakfast a couple of times there.

The view is the only thing worth going for. The bar was ok. The drinks were meh & WAY over priced.

I stayed for one night and checked in on the app before arriving. I parked at the parking Pike parking garage right next to the hotel ($16/night). As soon as I arrived I was greeted by an attentive man at the front desk. I got my room key, headed up to my room, which was clean and quiet. The rain shower was amazing and had great water pressure. Bed and pillows were also very comfortable!

Hyatt at Pike has it all. It is in a great location, close to shopping and the heart of Long Beach, and within walking distance of some decent restaurants (and a Starbucks). It's also within Uber/Lyft distance of the Long Beach region, so you get to enjoy Belmont Shores, a bit of Huntington Beach and some of Torrance if you do not have transportation or choose not to drive. And for those traveling via cruise, it is an ideal location -- and on the right side of the bay. The hotel doesn't offer its own parking. There is a paid parking lot across the street, so park in the loading zone out front to check in and unload. You have to pay every time you exit, and the cost for 24 hour is about $25. Note: There are several hotel options closer to the Port of Long Beach but if you want to enjoy some of the life before you head out on your cruise, that's not where you want to be. This side of the bay is where you want to be -- again, for the convenience I mentioned above. The king suite is comfortable enough. On the smaller size with no sections, however. So if you prefer some privacy from your room companion(s) while traveling, this is not the hotel for you. In-room amenities are sparse. You do get a mini cooler (not a fridge) and a coffee maker. But not micro and no kitchenettes here. You can, however, order a mini fridge -- which I did. But it was never delivered. The staff, however, is mostly attentive and accommodating. One surprise is that there is a bellhop here, and he is serious about the job! He will take the cart and load without you asking, and he must accompany you to your room. Old school traditional. Wasn't expecting that here, so be sure to have tip cash on the ready. Same with the restaurant and bar. You will be in good hands if you have a chance to be served by Richard. The restaurant is not full service, as in I would not plan a dinner here (though the breakfast menu has solid offerings). It's a great in-between place: a lounge before you go out on the town and a relaxing space if you don't want to spend time in your room, but would rather be mellow with a beverage and treat with a book. The pool (heated to about 85 degrees) is on the 8th floor, and has the best views. In fact, I don't believe there are any bay or ocean views from the rooms here. I requested one and was told that the construction as of late obstructs views. More on the pool: There is a shower, restrooms, cabanas (at no cost to use) and a pool bar (which was not open during the off season). As for costs -- it's pricey. It's Long Beach. It's California. Even with all the benefits, I cannot justify the cost, but it was a comfortable and very convenient stay.

Avocado toast (sorry, I started eating)

Best avocado toast I ever had. The way they tamed the red onion and very lightly tossed vinegarette with arugula on top of the yummy avocado toast was perfect. Highly recommend!!! Service very nice and good ambiance!

I recently stayed here for three nights while attending a conference in the area. This hotel is in an awesome spot right within a shopping area and easy access to walk around nearby. It's super close to the Convention Center. They don't have parking on-site but there is a parking lot right next door that you can utilize. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, though they do have a market in the lobby with a fair amount of options for purchase. The fitness center has just enough equipment to get a good workout in while out of town, including a water machine and cool towels. The rooms seem super updated and the bathroom is a great size.

Nearby stores Place is close to everything . The room is okay , I prefer the regency next block though. Breakfast was not great and they seemed not to have enough staff and not getting our order accurately.

Needed to stay one night so we would not need to rush or worry about flight delays and/or cancellations. Our flight was delayed going to LGB and going back to SJCC. Bet folks are regretting terminating individuals that chose not to vaccinate their body, their choice! Anyway. This hotel is chic.. in the heart of a plaza filled w/ stores and restaurants. It's about a 12 min. drive from the airport. They have a very small fitness center; (it is great if you do cardio, but if you want to train, go to an actual gym instead). Though small, but very clean and equipped w/ damp towels to cool you down and water to hydrate you. You will need your room keycard to operate the elevator - adds an element of safety. After midnight (or 11PM PST), you will also need your room keycard to get into the hotel. If you ask for water, front desk will give you a complimentary bottled water. The service was excellent. The room was amazing. We loved room, but we were mainly impressed w/ the bathroom. It was spacious, well lit, loved the 2 shower heads available, and the Dry Bar hairdryer that they have to offer in each room. Definitely would recommend, however if you are sensitive to noise, don't stay here. Since you are in the plaza, you will hear people chatter and cars going in/out. We got there after 9PM, so the noise level wasn't a concern.

After housekeeping cleared a used teacup from my room earlier in the day, it wasn't replaced...something I'd expect as a basic standard at a hotel of this caliber. I called to request a new one and ended up waiting 21 minutes before calling back for the status on it. I was then told that they would follow up on it and I'd receive an update on the status. 7 more minutes go by - no cup, NO UPDATE. I called back one final time, to which the man on the phone said, yes he put in a rush order and the man who's delivering it is elderly and it might take him just a few minutes longer. I said no problem but just so you know, my cup was taken earlier in the day and not replaced. The man then said he can definitely let housekeeping know for next time. I proceeded to respond and intended to say okay great but before I could even get to the great, he STRAIGHT UP HUNG UP ON ME. Also the person who delivered the cup was a younger boy so idk if the elderly man reasoning was just an excuse for the moment. I went down to the lobby immediately to speak to the manger in person and let her know how insanely unprofessional, unpleasant, and UNCOOL this was. They made an error and I got attitude back for it?! AT A FIVE STAR HOTEL. To their credit, she did apologize and sent up dessert, but by that point the issue wasn't about the teacup or a free comped anything. It was about the breakdown in communication, lack of respect, and service quality. Overall, not the level of service I anticipated for the price, which is disappointing. I will not be staying here again and don't recommend it for anyone else looking for a true five star experience.

The fan in the bedroom hardly works. The low and high fan are practically working at the same speed and I didn't notice any difference. The room finally got to the desired temp after about 2-3 hours. The cabinet door to the fridge was broken at a hinge so we weren't able to access the fridge at all. Also, some of the channels on cable tv were not accessible. I will start with the good, the staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating and seems to genuinely understand hospitality. Even when an incident that I will talk about it the bads happened they were accommodating and friendly. Additionally, there are parts of the ship that truly still demonstrate the glamor of a forgotten age in ocean liner history, the small exhibits some furnishings that are touches here that take you back. The food at the chowder house well expensive is quite delicious and both the wait staff and the bartenders are friendly. Now for the bad, vast areas of the ship have been left to the ravages of time. Untouched unfixed unpainted just left to rot. Even surfaces in areas where guests are sure to visit like the bow of the ship, there's unpainted rusted, chipped paint and splintering plywood everywhere. Wow! All three members of my party booked the same class room, what we got were three very different rooms, it felt almost very Goldilocks with one room being too big. One room being too small and one room being just about right. However, my room had mysterious yellow brown wet spots seeping up through the carpet, I discovered this at almost midnight and so had to be moved to another room, the room they moved me to was even smaller than my original room and had a bathroom so small that when I tried to open the door it hit the toilet. And then there's the little matter of temperature control, the rooms themselves have no HVAC, but you can open the portal windows, which would be lovely if not for the fact that there is nearly no airflow at least on the side of the ship where I was, And more than a dozen insects decided that my open windows were an invitation to party in my room. Then given the proximity to the port, because I had my windows open, I was awoken at 6:15 a.m. to the sounds of shipping containers and little bells and alarms. I think this hotel has Great value and great potential but at a price point of over $300 a night putting it well into the luxury category, it needs help. To be totally transparent, I will be coming back here. We only booked one night and there's so much more to the ship. I want to explore and see I want to do the tours. I want to do some of their events including their murder mystery dinner. There's so much here, that I truly do think it's worth experiencing, however, I also think it's worth experiencing with your eyes open to what the experience will be. If you're expecting a luxury hotel with luxury amenities and luxury finishings, you are not getting that here, what you are getting is a view of history that may someday go away so enjoy it while it's here.

So rather than pay an astronomical fee for the privilege of proximity, I did a quick search of the area. There are plenty of options, but many of them just seemed suspect. The I came across the Varden. Definitely a boutique hotel, but definitely worth checking out. The rooms are typically small with barely room for a bed, a partial desk and a small bathroom area. But the room was extremely clean, the fixtures and bed were new and cool and for one person, really perfect. Particularly since other than sleeping and checking emails, what else do you really need? Well, for starters you need to feel safe. And this place does a great job of securing the facility at night, but you don't feel you're in a bad neighborhood anyway. You also might like to enjoy a welcoming attitude, and the staff and place has plenty of that. The young staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Being forewarned that the property has 3 levels and no elevator is important, but honestly, it's not a tough climb to floor 3. And as a testament at how great the staff are, they wouldn't take no, and they carried my bags to my 3rd floor room. Since I was there for meetings, I needed to press my clothes, so a call to the front desk resulted in a brand new Iron and Board appearing at my room within minutes. And being welcomed by a reception with snacks, wine and drinks between 5:00 - 7:00 everyday, is just super nice. They also do a continental breakfast from 6:00-9:00 daily. They have a hip space right behind the registration area for these treats so it's easy to walk through on your way in/out of the property. And best of all the price per night was less than 1/2 of what those big chain hotels were charging. And I was less than 4 blocks (and a very nice walk past lots of local stores/restaurants to give me a feel for the area) from the Convention Center. For all these reasons, if you're in Long Beach solo, I would highly recommend you check out the Varden.
