A small, unmanned, railway station managed by Scotrail, now with just one platform (the train from Glasgow goes on to Largs then comes back the same way minutes later). You pay on the train as there are no ticket machines.
The station is kept clean and tidy, there is a covered shelter and tubs of flowers during the spring and summer months. There are CCTV cameras overhead at the entrance and automatic announcements through a small platform mounted tannoy system.
There are several spaces in the car park which is right next to the platform. In the very unlikely event that it would be full, it's easy to park in one of the nearby roads. There is no taxi rank but, for travellers without a car, it's a short walk to the main road where there are frequent buses in both directions. read more
