This pizza isn't flashy nor gourmet tasting and I don't think that's the point of this place. The employees are friendly and funny the atmosphere is sparse with the emphasis on the kitchen, being the main attraction. This pizza is mid range, it's not going to wow you nor impress you. This place may be my favorite pizza place ever. I've lived here my whole life and went to this pizza place on a whim, it was fantastic soooooo hot and flavorful so cheesy and perfect! Not to mention the gentlemen running the front was very kind to the point and snappy with getting us our order as soon as he could! Even apologizing for any wait we barely waited. I am definitely going back and I encourage others to try them. There isn't much seating but there's some outside it is a bit of a hole in a wall but amazing none the less. read more

I started going to Fairgrounds when I moved to the area 5 years ago. The pizza and buffalo wings were my go to and I recommended them to everyone who would listen. Since the new owners took over, the wings changed and the sauce did too. They were hardly sauced at all and the wings themselves were different. The pizza was still good until recently. The crust is now so dense and hard my child couldn't bite through it. Cutting through it took a steak knife. I'm so sad to have lost one of my frequented restaurants. read more

I called at 7:30 pm to see if I could still order bread sticks before they closed at 8. The message said they are open until 8 and if I'm hearing this message they are on the other line, so either call back or place your order online. So I placed my order online and headed over there. I arrived at 7:38 and all the lights were off. The door was unlocked and there is a young girl inside. She tells me they are closed. I said but I just placed an online order. The ordering system accepted my order, and they are open until 8. She said "Sorry but I closed early tonight". How careless that there was nothing on the message stating that when I called, and also, she obviously let my call go to voice mail. I thought that was really rude. She could have answered my call and told me she closed early and saved me the trip. The online ordering system could have rejected my order, too. But no. Don't small businesses need business? But they're just going to close early and not change the message? In any case, we do not get pizza here. It is terrible. The crust is wet and soggy. The bread sticks and garlic bread are great. But alas. We will not be taking our chances on this place again. Take Out is the name of the game these days. Fairgrounds is just up the road so we called in an order to support our local neighbors. We went with a large chicken bacon ranch, mushrooms and onions on half. Slices were on par with Costco pizza slices so be prepared with a pizza slicer if you're feeding kiddos. It was certainly better than greasy chain places but the dough seemed to be overly worked and extra chewy...having to gnaw on your pizza slice is really not a great look....and the 'half' was only moderately adhered to so use caution if you have a true aversion or allergy. Great central location for take out and more than likely a crowd pleaser if you're feeding a large group or kids. Solid 3 stars and I'll admit I'm probably a bit more picky than the average. read more

This is the best pizza west of New York. It has the best crust with gooey cheese. The 24 square is a real value for a larger group.

I have always like this pizza place as well as the owners since they open just over five years ago. They provide super quality ingredients, and it is pretty close to New York style pizza. I like that they have a daily special where you get two slices and a drink for $5. It also includes bottled water if you prefer that over soda, which is my preference. Give them a try. My family loves their pizza. We try to make the 24 cut an easy dinner at least a couple times a month, and this evening was no different. Pizza arrived hot and delicious. When I called in the order I asked for a 2liter as well, when my BF got the pizza from the driver there was no soda, but he also didn't think he saw it on the receipt, so no big deal, we could do without and it wasn't any thing we were worried about. A hour later we had a knock on the door and the driver brought us the soda saying he/they had forgotten it....still not sure if we were charged for it, but either way we are extremely happy with the service we always get here, and will continue to have them as our go-to easy family meal!!! read more

I've gotten fairgrounds pizza quite a few times and it's always a hit. It's our go-to pizza place. Their pizzas are always very tasty and hot and delivered quickly. We tend to go for the pepperoni with ricotta. You can't see the ricotta but it's under there! I've only had a not as great pizza once, but it was still pretty good. I find the crust to have a nice crunch but still some chewy goodness. The sauce is well flavored and there's a decent amount of toppings. Yum! read more

Who knew there would be decent pizza near Parkwood East? Thanks to other Yelpers, that's how! Okay it's no fancy, schmanzy, artisan pizziolos like in Seattle. Or some mega corporate chain. However, for a local business selling decent handmade pies at these prices, what a steal! There's also calzones, salads, subs, and wings offered also, not just pizza. Even specials like 2 slices and a soda for $5. Seriously?! Locals know, since while I briefly waited, the phone orders for pickup or delivery kept coming in. Fast, friendly service. Pizzas made fresh and efficiently. A family member really craved a basic pizza during my visit. No worries, stopped in, placed the order, wandered through another local business, and boom handed a no frills piping hot pizza from the oven. The crust was a standout. My wife and I needed a break from sheltering at home and decided to head out of Seattle, through Tacoma, over the Narrows bridge, to have lunch in Silverdale, and then take the Bremerton ferry back to Seattle. I did some Yelping and decided to try Helene's pizza. We left Seattle with the intent to arrive right around 11am when they opened. Helene's is outside the towny part of Silverdale, in a fairly typical strip mall between Silverdale and Bremerton. They opened a little before 11 and we walked inside to order at the counter. Both the counter guy and the cook were very friendly and welcoming. They had installed a large piece of clear plastic sheeting to provide separation from the guests. We placed our order for a 12" thin crust pepperoni and took a Coke and bottled water from the large fridge. There were no tables inside and I'm not sure there would have been room for them even in non-Covid19 times, but there were a few tables spaced apart out in front of the store and the cook said he'd bring our pie out when it was done. While we waited, they were doing a fairly brisk business filling to go pick up orders from what appeared to be local businesses. Everyone was mindful of social distancing and some wore masks and/or gloves, others didn't. After a short and reasonable wait, the cook brought out our pie with the promised cheese and pepper packets. I asked for some paper plates and napkins and they were gladly provided. Both guys thanked us and seemed genuinely appreciative for our business. We drove a few minutes and parked where we had a nice view of the Sound and were very pleased when we opened the box. The pie looked and tasted great. The crust was perfectly cooked and had great texture, a bit of crunch, and just the right amount of bite. The sauce was plentiful and flavorful and the cheese and pepperoni were well proportioned and tasteful. The fact it was still piping hot didn't hurt either. My favorite Seattle area pie has always been Pagliacci's and I think Helene's would compare favorably, although because I believe a pizza cook's best effort and product comes through in a 16" or 18" version, I'll need to order a large from Helene's to do a fair comparison. Ordered pizza for takeout. Pizza had over cooked crust, say well done. I could smell the crust in the jeep on the way home. Could taste it as well when I got home. Called and took it back and picked up another one. Got home and it was under cooked. Cheese had just barely melted. Doughy crust. Took it back for a refund. Was told that there was no between the two that I had just took home. What about being cooked just right! While getting my refund I was told not to buy pizza from them anymore. No problem with that! The pizza there used to be fantastic. But the last year or so it had slid downhill. I asked if Helene still owned the place and was told she does not. Now I know why the quality is gone. My husband and I are new to the area and we were super excited to see that they have calzones. The staff was really friendly. The marina sauce was good, but not great. The calzones we ordered were just ok. They put way too much ricotta cheese in them and were skimpy with the mozzarella cheese and the meat fillings. The meatballs in the calzone were so bland. So disappointed, as this was our last binge meal before starting our diet. Maybe the pizza is better...maybe that was our mistake in not choosing pizza because the reviews were really good for this place. The person who answered the phone was SO nice and took his time explaining what size pizza/salad/etc would be appropriate to order for the number of people in the office, and made good food recommendations as well. My brother and his colleagues really enjoyed the food. Bonus cute story: there was a puppy patient who was having trouble waking up from anesthesia after surgery, so they put some pizza in front of his face and he started sniffing and opening his eyes! Best pizza in Bremerton - yeah, I said it. And I'll stand by it, too. At first it was just the proximity. Fairgrounds is close, and they deliver, and they're a far sight better than Domino's. I ordered their 24-cut pizza one hungry night, and when it arrived I was gobsmacked. This is one huge pizza, even for a whole family. I had it split into four quadrants, a different set of toppings on each quadrant, and they got it just right. It's a rectangular pizza, cut into squares, and it fills the extra-wide box all the way to the corners. Even with everyone eating their fill that night, there was still pizza left over for the next day's lunch for me. This is a pizza made to feed an army. Their smaller pizzas are more traditional - round, and cut into triangle slices - but no less delicious. The crust is just the right thickness and and toppings are plentiful and yummy. You can customize your own, of course, but they have some delicious specialties too. Some of our favorites are the chicken bacon ranch pizza, and "the works" is a wonder. There's a white broccoli pizza that I'll be sure to try someday too, it sounds delicious. Service-wise, we've never been disappointed. Their delivery is fast and friendly, and if they're going to be late for same reason they'll actually call to let you know (what a thought!). If you happen to go into the store, you'll find it a small space with no room to sit inside, though there are a few tables and chairs just outside the door if you wanted to eat there. While Fairgrounds' hours state they close at 9 most weeknights, you'll often find that you can call and order after 9 and they'll be happy to take care of you, and they do it with a smile and a laugh: "We're here anyway!" So, simply put? If you live in Bremerton and you haven't tried Fairgrounds yet, you're just missing out. It really is the best. read more

Got the works pizza! Has everything but the kitchen sink in it. Very flavorful and doesn't taste bland like some pizza chains around the Kitsap area. The crust is good and wasn't doughy.
