we were very very very pleased with our visit! The hotel was SPOTLESS and modern, very nice design. The rooms were nice, well designed space, the best features: Microwave, refrigerator, and the soap and conditioner pumps in the shower(so you don't have to ask for five bottles every time you shower), lastly, the availability of baby cribs. The BEST service and what really made this Hotel stay the best was the breakfast. The availability of American foods like, French toast, pancakes, waffles, cereals, pastries, breads, etc was nice but having the Mexican breakfast buffet as well was amazing, chilaquiles, menudo, beans, eggs, etc. this was by far the best breakfast we've had at a hotel. The other half of the star, was the staff, constantly cleaning and taking away dirty plates. My family enjoyed the pool, but noticed there was other services also available, like a gym, laundry room, print center, They also have a 24/7 little store with snacks for purchase. The reception desk was also helpful. (This is where you get your towels for the pool). Next, the location of this hotel, was perfect. It's in a very nice Plaza, with high end restaurants and shops, and for some last night snacks (a 7/11 store). There is parking right in front of the hotel or underground. Lastly, to my embarrassment, about 30 mins after checking out, I realized I had forgotten an item in the room, I called the hotel to explain, and by the time I returned to the hotel, they had nicely packaged up the item and it was waiting for me at the front desk. The staff, the amenities, the food, and the rooms, were perfect. If all hotels are alike Fairfield Mexicali, Marriott has gained a loyal customer. read more

We forgot a hat bag with 5 hats, housekeeping kept 2 hats and only reported 3 of course she took the most expensive hats. Otherwise location and rooms were great. So sad people risk their jobs for 2 hats read more

I normally go out of my way to avoid a Fairfield Inn, but I needed a place to stay for a few nights and this was the best Marriott option in the city. It turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The breakfast is what you would expect - the same as any other Fairfield Inn. But the rooms and lobby must have been recently renovated because the look and smell are clean and nice. Very modern. The staff also goes above and beyond here on the sanitation front. They ask you to use gloves when serving your food, they put a sanitized seal on the door of your room and make you check your temperature upon entering. They also had to open the gym for me, which was locked. The gym has 3 treadmills, an exercise bike and a few weights. Nothing special. read more

Great hotel! We've stayed at many hotels in Mexicali, and to be honest they've all been disappointing till now. The hotel is in a nice area... lots of restaurants and stores around. This is a newer hotel and everything still looks new, up-to-date and clean. There is ample parking in an under-ground parking lot. Check in was easy. The girl at reception was very friendly and helpful. She offers us bottled water, which was nice. She also check us out the next day. A very easy and quick experience. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable (hard to find in Mexico)! The shower and bathroom were nice and clean, good water pressure etc. The room had a nice tv with enough channels. It also had a nice view. The breakfast buffet was good! I liked the pozole, chilaquiles, and potatoes especially but they gave many things to choose from. The service there was good too and they really keep fresh food coming out constantly. Although we didn't use it, there is a nice indoor pool and also an exercise room. We'll definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel. read more

We are newbies when it comes to Mexicali. The friends we traveled with, grew up there and know the lay of the land. It also helped that we received a Marriott employee, family rate. The hotel is located in the newer part of Mexicali, surrounded by restaurants & shopping areas within close proximity. This place has only existed since March of this year. That is the background. Entering & checking in was a breeze. The staff at the desk handled us professionally, as well as being courteous. We were also informed that the rate would also include breakfast. Yes, they also have a small gym/a pool/and meeting rooms if work & play are on the agenda. The pool is very small, which could easily be filled considering the hotel's footprint. The lobby, elevators, hallways & rooms have a modern feel. The place is SUPER clean and they have security roaming the grounds and all floors. They even have subterranean parking, which you do not get dinged with either. The breakfast buffet lineup consisted of many options, with staff members constantly refilling items, while keeping all seating areas free of debris. We were very impressed with the teamwork at this hotel. We PLEADED with the couple we traveled with, that this hotel HAS to be on our radar every time we cross into Mexicali for dental work, or any other reason adding some exploration. We've stayed at this property before and when returning for another visit knew that this is where we'd stay again. Both times we've been greeted by friendly associates - made me feel comfortable speaking English (I'm American and can communicate, but not fluently, in Spanish). The rooms are clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The breakfast is tasty and fresh, with a nice selection of healthy options available. The servers there are equally nice. I don't know when you'll read this and if COVID is still an issue - but I'll say they are taking more extreme safety measures than I've seen anywhere in the States. There is a security guard in the garage checking temperatures and spraying sanitizer on your luggage. They also require not only hand sanitizer but also gloves - and if you think you can just grab something real quick without following this policy - guess again! I don't know if this is still government prohibition or just an inconvenience, but I really would have liked to go outside and sit by the pool. I wasn't planning to swim, but it would have been nice to get some fresh air with my morning coffee and not feel like I needed to mask up between sips. read more

Absolutely a horrific horrible morning nightmare when stepping down for breakfast. Paying a little shy of 500$ for a 2 Queen bedroom suite (UP TO 4 people) because we're here for our brothers wedding event and when checking in the night before our breakfast WITH FOUR PEOPLE PRESENT, we were not informed about any additional service fee for any one over our guest that's more than 2... to my understanding the reason why I got a 2 bed suite is because it's for four people. Then when heading down to lobby for breakfast we were told that we needed to pay extra for additional guest... when we booked a hotel for 4 people max and now we must pay additional for the other two guest? I'm sorry... I'm not worried about the paying part AT THE BEGINNING PRIOR TO GETTING OUR SUITES... the front desk receptionists that assisted us could at least told us WHEN SHE SAW ALL FOUR OF US standing in front of her and advised us at least like "hey by the way, we have a policy... noticing you have 4 people for the suite however 2 are only accommodated per each stay. Any additional will result in a fee" AT LEAST TELL US THAT. We speak Spanish fluently and having to deal with CARINA AND JESUS THE MORNING AFTER WAS EVEN RIDICULOUS... horrible disgusting customer service that's comparable to the worse motel 6! This was on 5/29/2021. These two asked us to pull up our confirmation receipt and Jesus said "it should state on your confirmation that it's only for 2" SO I PULLED UP my receipt... scrolled it up and down.... NOTHING WAS FOUND! He even told me "Well that's our policy" this whole conversation was very unprofessional. I honestly regret staying here and should've booked there competitor down a couple minutes HOLIDAY INN where most of the wedding guest were staying... DO NOT STAY HERE! You're better off at holiday Inn express which is like 2 minutes in the same Plaza! The level of customer service here is without a doubt unacceptable. I'm still in shock and I have 2 more nights here at this repulsive property! read more

Went there last year my second hotel in Mexicali very nice very very clean area I'm from the US so going to a place where I don't know very well this place made me feel relaxed and I will fursure take my kids here next time I head out there and there's also places to eat right close to them literally walking distance! Checked in late with no problems. Front desk was quick and efficient. Lots of parking. Underground parking garage is nice and is guarded by security. You need your room key to use the elevator to the rooms which is a nice security feature. Hotel was not crowded at all which was nice. Room was spacious and very clean. Big tv. View of the city is really cool. Beds were good, (medium firm), 3 pillows were comfy. Sheets were clean and crisp. Floors were clean. Bathroom shower was pretty big which is nice for my giant husband (6'3) lol shower pressure was good (large tiles can get a little slippery). Price included breakfast which was really good. Breakfast staff was very friendly. As we walked up we could see the tables being cleaned and anytime someone left, staff quickly cleared and cleaned the table. Staff serves you which I really like because some places stopped breakfast all together because of covid so this was a nice was to keep it going safely as well as ensuring people arent being unsanitary. The breakfast options included coffee, juices, oatmeal with fixings (hubby said it was really good), fresh fruit which was def fresh, mini waffles, eggs, toast, beans, chilaquiles (all delicious).
