Fairfield Inn & Suites - Delicious French toast, and hot ham

we were very very very pleased with our visit!…read more The hotel was SPOTLESS and modern, very nice design. The rooms were nice, well designed space, the best features: Microwave, refrigerator, and the soap and conditioner pumps in the shower(so you don't have to ask for five bottles every time you shower), lastly, the availability of baby cribs. The BEST service and what really made this Hotel stay the best was the breakfast. The availability of American foods like, French toast, pancakes, waffles, cereals, pastries, breads, etc was nice but having the Mexican breakfast buffet as well was amazing, chilaquiles, menudo, beans, eggs, etc. this was by far the best breakfast we've had at a hotel. The other half of the star, was the staff, constantly cleaning and taking away dirty plates. My family enjoyed the pool, but noticed there was other services also available, like a gym, laundry room, print center, They also have a 24/7 little store with snacks for purchase. The reception desk was also helpful. (This is where you get your towels for the pool). Next, the location of this hotel, was perfect. It's in a very nice Plaza, with high end restaurants and shops, and for some last night snacks (a 7/11 store). There is parking right in front of the hotel or underground. Lastly, to my embarrassment, about 30 mins after checking out, I realized I had forgotten an item in the room, I called the hotel to explain, and by the time I returned to the hotel, they had nicely packaged up the item and it was waiting for me at the front desk. The staff, the amenities, the food, and the rooms, were perfect. If all hotels are alike Fairfield Mexicali, Marriott has gained a loyal customer.

False Advertising. Terrible Management. Zero Accountability…read more We stayed at Cambria Hotel El Centro-Imperial from July 10-13, 2026 with more than 10 Little League families. It was, without question, one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we've had. We reserved a "Suite, 2 Queen Beds, Kitchen (Studio)" through Expedia before another family on our team. They booked the exact same room description through Expedia after we did and were assigned Room 201 a spacious "Suite, 2 Queen Beds, Kitchen (Studio)". Yet we were given Room 220--a standard-sized room with only a kitchenette. No one at check-in mentioned we were being placed in a different room than the one we reserved. The next day my friend stopped by our room and was shocked at the size difference. She said, "I thought we booked the same room. Come look at ours." And that's when we realized we had not received what we paid for. I requested to speak with someone in management and got the unfortunate experience of speaking with Sales Assistant Clarissa instead. She was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Rather than attempting to resolve the issue, she ended the conversation by telling me to "have the day you deserve." I then requested to speak with the General Manager Todd who was no better. He insisted that "suite," "studio," and "kitchenette" all mean the same thing, while also admitting he charges more for the Suite, 2 Queen Beds, Kitchen (Studio) "because he can." If they're all the same, why would the hotel charge different prices? When Clarissa claimed the hotel doesn't even have suites, I showed Todd a video of one inside his own hotel. He admitted he has been trying to get third-party booking sites to change the room descriptions because they are misleading. The more he contradicted himself, the more visibly nervous he became and he began sweating profusely. When I asked why the descriptions needed to be changed if they all meant the same thing, he then said he wasn't going to argue semantics. The primary issue was Todd's admission of being fully aware of the discrepancy yet refusing to make it right and still continuing to book rooms with the same misleading description. And the problems didn't stop there: * Multiple families had leaking air conditioners. * The indoor pool area's A/C wasn't working. While the temp in Imperial ranged from 105-113 during our entire stay. * The hotel sold breakfast vouchers advertising an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, yet they were out of pancake mix for our entire three-day stay. After getting nowhere with management, I disputed the charges with my credit card company because I do not believe we received the accommodation that was advertised and reserved. Cambria didn't just lose one customer--they lost the trust of an entire Little League community. If you're considering staying here, screenshot your reservation, verify your room before unpacking, and don't assume the room you booked is the room you'll receive. Better yet, take your hard earned money elsewhere!

I want to start by saying that I travel frequently and stay in hotels on a regular basis, and it…read moretakes a lot for me to leave a negative review. The staff throughout my stay was friendly, professional, and courteous. My concerns are with the condition and maintenance of the property. Our room (428) had a significant carpet beetle infestation. There were so many throughout the room that my family and I felt we needed to keep our shoes on at all times. The pool was also one of the dirtiest hotel pools I have encountered. When I asked if there was a pool net available, I was told the hotel did not have one on site. The front desk associate was kind enough to borrow a net from another Marriott, and I ended up cleaning the pool myself because she was the only employee working the front desk. Additionally, the elevator shook noticeably each time it reached a floor before the doors opened, which raised concerns about its condition. I understand the challenges that come with being understaffed, but after spending nearly $1,000 on my stay, I expected a higher standard of cleanliness and maintenance. I chose not to complain during my visit because the staff was doing their best, but I felt it was important to share this feedback so these issues can be addressed. I travel to El Centro regularly, but unfortunately this experience has led me to choose a different hotel for future visits, and I will be directing my team to do the same. Small investments in property upkeep and maintenance go a long way toward earning long-term customer loyalty.

I gave them my credit card and they charged me and my company both for the room. This place is not trustworthy and I will follow up on this with our corporate office first thing on Monday.

It was easy and the girl at the check in desk was great. Breakfast and the staff member who worked there were also great. And I will say the room was clean so cleaning crew was doing a good job because the issue was more maintenance than anything. The issue was that the room was so old and outdated and the non bed furniture in the room was pretty gross which is why the low score. As I said, all customer service was nice, the only exception was when we asked for 3 extra pillows but were told no, we had enough and only given 1. That did irritate me but I brushed it off (this was a few hours after check In, after we got back to our room after a funeral). We got the suite which is not in the hotel and is actually in a building near the hotel. It is a spacious room but it is sooo worn out. Pillars were rotting and peeling, the rug was dirty and the couch and chair with an ottoman were so disgusting, I was genuinely grossed out and didn't touch them. Additionally, the toilet had a hard time flushing and after leaving some water running in the sink while brushing my teeth, it clogged up a little. Overall, I will not stay here again.

I had really high hopes for this place! We have stayed at many different hotels in Mexicali and…read morethis was by far the worst. We arrived at the hotel around 4pm, and there was a line to the doors of people trying to check in. No biggie, right? Well, they had only two receptionists at the counter and they were taking about half an hour with each guest. I'm not sure what took so long but we stood there for almost two hours trying to check in. There was no AC in the lobby so it was hot and stuffy. Everyone waiting was getting really frustrated. One guest completely cut everyone and went straight to the counter, when we complained we were told he had already check in but had lost his key card.... Well they took 20 minutes to issue him a new one. Once we get to our room, we notice there's some dishes with food left over next to our door. We requested towels twice throughout our stay which means the hotel staff saw those plates and didn't think to remove them. Hotels rooms were cleaned and they never removed those plates! We checked out with those plates sitting there STINKING up the hallway. Rooms were nice at first look but bathrooms were outdated, towel rack was hanging on by a thread and fixtures where old and rusty. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because the pool area looked really nice. But it a lot smaller then the pictures. And if you are traveling with small children, this pool is very unsafe. There's no stair area for the smaller kids to sit. It's 4ft deep ALL around with just a metal ladder that also hang On by a thread. The two stars are for the few staff members who were very kind and friendly.
