Clean bedding. Some furniture had minor corner chipping but not a functional issue. No parking charge. So this place deserves my high vote from us. If you run into an issue be sure to bring it up to the staff they will take care of it. read more

I booked a stay here for a wedding. My mom ended up in the hospital the night before. I called to try to cancel my stay. Management charged me full price for the 2 rooms I booked. I called back and asked if a manager could contact me and never heard back from anyone. I understand having to pay a fee for a last minute cancellation, but to charge me full price when I was in an emergency situation is callous. When you choose a hotel distinctly for a HOT TUB to relax in at the end of a busy workday...then you find out upon check in that the hot tub has been drained for cleaning. They have no idea when it will be reopened. Typically, I've been offered an alternative (local gym day pass, sister hotel, etc) but nothing. The parking fee is crazy high for the location. The TV remote wasn't working and as per other reviewers, you can hear everything in the rooms beside and above you. What's happening to Marriott properties? The shower wouldn't turn completely off, and the shower knob would move to scalding hot while taking a shower. I advised the front desk of the shower and the guy got mad at me and just raised his voice and was upset. I attempted to eat breakfast, but the bagels had mold on them. I expected better from a Marriott level hotel. Rooms and lobby were clean and well maintained. They charge $15 a day for parking for no reason at all other than greed, the Holiday Inn just a half block down the road has free parking. Also, the breakfast was only okay and didn't have so many items. They ran out of plates and bowls and took forever to make the morning coffee (there were probably 10 people standing around waiting for coffee and basic plates). The Holiday Inn down the road is cheaper, better quality and no charge for parking. I would rather stay there next time and will tell others to do the same. read more

We had a horrible experience with this location, awful management. Poor customer service. With a family of 5 you try to save money where you can. My husband canceled and we were going to stay at a family's house. He requested a refund, and they stated there were no refunds. We then asked to reinstate the reservation, and they said there was nothing they could do. I spoke to their general manager Julia, and she had no empathy what's so ever. She stated she could not help us or make any exceptions. We always stay at Marriott's during vacations. No more after this experience. She was so rude. read more

My parents, grandma and myself stayed here over July 4th weekend for my brother's wedding. He had a room block at this hotel since it was 5 minutes away from the venue (Sterling Hills). We drove from the Bay Area on Thursday morning and arrived at the hotel around 5pm Thursday night. Danny at the front desk was really nice and also super funny, so that was great. My mom and grandma were sharing a room and my dad and I were going to share a suite. We get in to our rooms on the third floor and my dad and I find out it was not what we were promised (an executive suite with a sofa bed and separate bedroom) so my dad goes to talk to Danny and figure it out. Danny tells him that the room we were supposed to have was occupied (come to find out my brother and his now wife had the two executive suites on the floor). Danny discounts the second room and gives us a third room for basically free with the discount going towards the third room, and he waived the parking fee for us which was super nice. So, my grandma and mom shared a room and my dad and I both had our own rooms. The bed was super comfy for me but I was also exhausted from the long drive so I probably would've slept anyway lol. I had nice sleep the three nights we stayed so yay. The reason why I am not giving this five stars is because the AC was hard to navigate, it would be super cold one minute and then stuffy the next. Additionally, I had a really hard time with the TV being super slow and the remote not really working super well. Breakfast at the hotel is from 6:30am-9:30am weekdays, and 7-10am on weekends and honestly, it was not super impressive. Yes it is free and a continental breakfast but I would have liked more variety in the options. Also, the WiFi in the room kinda sucked and was pretty slow at times, making it difficult to complete schoolwork or other things. The pool was really nice, not too hot but not too cold either. I didn't use the hot tub but I heard it was nice too. Also, housekeeping didn't come on the first day and on the day of the wedding when we were all getting ready, that is when they asked if we needed service. My grandma and mom's room had an issue with their shower but luckily it got fixed, so that's a plus. Overall, it was not a terrible stay but not the best either. Danny definitely made the experience great and one of the other front desk people (it was a woman but I don't remember her name) was also super nice. read more

I arrived around 4pm. Exterior looked nice, as did the lobby area. Check in was easy. But then I was asked if I was parking a car. Yes. So apparently there's a $10 charge. Not sure why - there seems to be no one checking vehicles. And there are several businesses that share the massive, sprawling parking lot. I asked the lady checking me in about simply parking a few spaces away from the hotel. Her reply is they don't own those spaces. Okay - well, you're claiming you're not responsible for my vehicle, so I might as well just park there and save $10. Though I chose not to fight it and I paid the fee. Felt very nickel and dimed. The floors and room seem dated. Hallways reminded me of a dorm. There was a musty smell in the room. Lights were off, but the TV was on. Normally the room is lit at night to welcome you. I came downstairs to ask about food or any restaurants within walking distance. The only walkable option is a "sports bar" next door. They apparently have odd hours so they weren't sure if it was open. I walked across the parking lot and inside. It's a dive bar. Not sure the quality of the food. So this is bad when you have to drive to grab a bite - except for the hotel's complimentary breakfast. Doesn't remind me of a Marriott property. Though I need just two more hotel stays before the end of the year to move from Silver to Gold Elite for the Bonvoy app. And this was the least expensive, nearby option. I can understand why. So disappointed in their customer service. They gave me blood stained sheets and I slept with them..super gross! I noticed the stain in the morning as I was folding blankets. I reported it to the front desk and they apologized and within the hour they charged me $85 for the damages!!!! After I reported it?? wtf! When I called them, they were so rude and accused me of staining the sheets because I didnt report it upon check in, however I came in late from an expo and was so tired I just went to bed. They just treated me like I was lying and said the blood was recent. ugh so disgusted with this experience and how they treated me. I emailed the manager and she said that she herself Pauline General Manager inspected it and it was a fresh blood stain. However i took a picture of it and its clearly an old stain!!!! I felt crazy! Dreadful stay, stains on sheets on arrival and no compensation or call from management. They had the nerve to tell me by phone that their sheets were off white. These stains were old dried in yellow ones, so gross. They took no responsibility except to say " sorry for inconvenience ". Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Camarillo is an okay budget stay. But a couple negatives overshadow anything good. They charge $10 to park even if you are a LIFETIME TITANIUM BONVOY MEMBER. I was looking for a hotel this day and the Camarillo area. I am coming out here more often for work and I've stayed at a few other places already and so far this is my favorite place. I think it's property is a relatively new but it is in the middle of nowhere meaning that everything that I wanted to go to were a couple of freeway exits away. It wasn't too bad since the hotel was right off the freeway. The room that I was in was really nice. I've stayed at other Fairfields Inns before and this was the nicest one by far. I believe I was upgraded to a nicer room too so this may not have been the standard set up. What I really liked is the water pressure from the showers. That was amazing and I can't emphasize that enough. The shower themselves were a tad narrow too but the water pressure is something I can't forget. The beds were really great as well and that was a great feature. There is breakfast downstairs in the lobby area. I never actually made it down there since I had leftovers from earlier. I had a fridge and a tiny microwave in my room and was able to store and also heat up my food after. I believe there's plenty of parking in the back of the hotel. The front tends to have a few limited spots and also with a bar and other businesses that share the lot it may be hard to get a spot out in front. read more

I would not recommend this Fairfield Inn. I stay at Marriott properties about 15-20 nights a year. I usually stay at properties like this one for convenience and my expectations are not really high. The room was comfortable, but the walls were very thin. One could hear virtually everything from the hallway, from the rooms on either side, and especially from the room above. However, the most irksome thing was a charge of $15 for parking. I have never seen a charge for parking at a suburban Marriott property; downtown metropolitan properties, yes; airport properties, sometimes; but the small properties just off the highway near a city, never. When I expressed surprise at being asked if I needed a parking pass (given that this location is really only accessible by driving), the response by the clerk checking me in was that "all the hotels in Camarillo charge for parking". I paid for the parking and dutifully put the parking pass on my dash. Then, after checking in, I fact-checked. Virtually no other property in Camarillo charges for parking. So. In addition to being hit with an annoying and unexpected charge for parking, I was lied to. I would have given the property one-star for the lie, but the bed was comfortable. read more

We have stayed at this Fairfield Inn in Camarillo twice now, the most recent time being this past weekend. For us the location is excellent as we have relatives in the Camarillo area, and on both occasions we have found our stay here to be very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right off the 101 freeway. Our room on the third floor was on the opposite side of the hotel away from the freeway, facing the parking lot, and we had zero traffic noise. On our previous stay back in December we had a room facing the freeway and I don't recall traffic noise being an issue on that side either. I preferred the parking lot side as we actually had a nice view of a tall pine tree right outside our window.While I can't speak of the other rooms as I believe we were upgraded due to our Bonvoy status, the one we were assigned was large and very nicely appointed. The Simmons Beauty Rest (yes- we looked) king mattress was extremely comfortable. Using the Marriott app, we had requested in advance two extra pillows and were happy to find those waiting for us along with the four others on the bed. The pillows, too, were very comfortable - neither too soft nor too hard as is often the case with hotel pillows. We both slept very well. The dresser was adequate as was the small desk for getting some work done. The room was also furnished with a queen-size sofa that had a pull-out bed, I'm guessing for parents who might have one or two children they wish to be in the room with them. In front of the sofa was a coffee table. The closet was on the small side, with barely enough room to hang a couple of suits, but should be adequate for a short-term traveler. In the closet was a full-size ironing board and iron. Sliding the closet door to one side revealed the coffee bar with a small coffee maker, ice bucket and microwave. While there were two coffee pods enough for just two cups of coffee and no tea bags, tea bags were available in the lobby along with coffee urn and hot water urns. Not sure if these are 24-hours, but they were available each time we passed by during the day. Under the coffee bar in the room is a small refrigerator. Unfortunately the refrigerator was not functioning, which we made the front desk aware of when we left. It's really something that should be checked by housekeeping as part of their regular rounds, so that was a bit of a disappointment. The bathroom was large and comfortable and it is furnished with two large mirrors: one over the sink in the commode area and another near the bathroom door that comes with a bench for performing tasks in front off a mirror that might require one. There were more than enough soft towels. The shower is on the narrow side, making it less than ideal for a "full-size" adult, but it was okay, with good water pressure coming through the water-saving shower head. The sink in the bathroom drained very slowly, which we also let the front desk know upon checking out. You need to be careful not to place your finger near the top of the faucet where it meets the bottom of the mirror (again- see attached photo of the bathroom sink where this will hopefully make sense). Not sure how my finger wound up in that position when trying to control the water flow, but I got it jammed in that small space between the top of the faucet lever and the bottom of the mirror when lifting the faucet lever up and did a nice job smashing my finger (insert a major "ouch!" here). The bars of hand soap that hotels give you for the sink seem to get smaller and smaller, but we travel with our own bar soap so for us this wasn't an issue for us. The AC worked well and was fairly quiet. Our room was equipped with two television sets: one above the dresser facing the bed and the other above the desk, which could be viewed when sitting on the sofa. While I appreciate the convenience of having the two sets depending on where you want to be watching TV from in the room, we found controlling them individually very frustrating, as we did on our last visit as well. A single remote control works with both TV's. When we went to turn one off, the other would go on and vice versa. At one point, the TVs were on two different channels and we had to mute the sound on one in order to watch the other because we found it difficult to turn one off without the other going back on again. It would be helpful if they had detailed printed instructions in the rooms equipped with two TV's on how two operate them individually. The included breakfast buffet was more than adequate with a choice of cold cereals, scrambled eggs, some sort of pre-packaged quiche, an egg-mcmuffin type breakfast sandwich, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, bananas, and a selection of juices. The hotel has an outdoor pool as well as a small exercise room. Parking is free. Even with the very few aforementioned relatively minor drawbacks, we find this Fairfield Inn to be a clean, comfortable place to stay and will definitely consider it for our next visit. read more

This place is my go to when I visit Ventura and Camarillo for my quarterly work trips. This is a newer hotel and the rooms are fresh and clean and they smell great, which is a plus! The hotel is pretty on the outside with Spanish style balconies on the outside of every window, although the windows themselves can't be opened. Unlike other Fairfield Inns that I have stayed at, this place does not offer a lot of breakfast selections. The waffles are pre made and a bit soggy and the oatmeal does not come prepared. The staff is very friendly and courteous. They do charge for parking and the lot can get very crowded quickly. On the plus side, it's right off the freeway! read more

Although I never stood here overnight when I do spend time there or when I did spend time there, guest services were excellent, super accommodating even when I asked for something that wasn't visibly seen in the lobby. I just returned from a road trip during which I stayed at four different Marriott properties. My four reviews will encompass them all and provides comparison of four properties in the CA Central Coast area. Our last hotel of our July-August Central Coast Road Trip was a Fairfield Inn in Camarillo. Great deal at 19,000 points. The room was spacious, it had TWO TVs (super weird), the bed was very soft, but still comfy. The bathroom was big and nice with good water pressure in the shower. The ONLY issues in this room was the weird smell (as well as a little mildewy smelling in the shower before you run the water) and the towels were kind of yellowed - poor laundering or just old? Otherwise, it would have been an awesome room, highly recommended. Can't say as much for the breakfast at this location, though. The breakfast was NOT good - had to do some work on the toaster because the handle is broken and overall, the food that was for offer was not very appealing. I mean, how hard is it to make oatmeal in an oatmeal container? Nope... packages. And powdered eggs? Bleh. THis was just an odd stop for us. Of course we were at the end of the hallway as usual, but the room smelled while being the best layout I've seen for a while. This hotel used to be decent, but our room was run down and had a strange smell. The bathroom was dingy, and the hair dryer was damaged and didn't look safe to use. We arrived later in the evening and upon check in, there was no one at the front desk. I called the hotel to see if someone could help me check in and the man working there came out from the back and mumbled about being the only one there and seemed annoyed that I had called to try and get help. He was not friendly during this interaction and avoided eye contact. When I asked about upgrading or getting a higher floor, he rudely said "no, that's what I have". When we went around to a side entrance after parking our car ($20 charge), there was a man sitting in the grass by the door surrounded by beer bottles and drinking a beer. Nice. The complimentary breakfast was a joke and the pool area was unkempt with dirty towels and used cups scattered around. We will not be back. Not what we expect from a Marriott property. read more

My clothes were stolen from my room. The general manager, is unresponsive and has the staff lie on her behalf, likely unbeknownst to them. I had been told my overnight bag had shipped on a Friday, yet it wasn't shipped until 5 days later, after I requested a tracking number that could not be produced. The clothes in the closet, some items still with price tags (one $345 Vince blouse, other business clothes) were not shipped. The staff state "Pauline must respond" to inquiries and she does not respond. I received one secured email from the GM to avoid traceability which seemed shady since it did not contain private or sensitive information. This matter will be escalated to ALL appropriate levels. I have never had an issue with theft in 40 years of business travel, including multiple stays at this facility over 35 years. It should be noted the front desk staff were patient and polite with my many phone calls and follow up. They did a fantastic job in spite of an emergency evacuation for a few hours due to a fire in the area. I feel bad for the attentive team currently led by poor leadership. A facility like this can do better with an engaged, responsive, customer oriented and visible GM, rather than one hiding behind her staff. read more

Drove in late at night and arrived to a quiet and clean hotel. Check in at the front desk was quick and easy. I noticed that there was a small "market area" behind the front desk for snacks and other items. There is also a large guest area to lounge in or eat at the tables. We actually brought food in since we were starving upon arrival and were able to eat in the large lobby area. Note that they were requesting 1 family per elevator ride up - max of 3 people. Although there are only 3 floors, the elevators are old and slow! If you have energy just take the stairs. Weird and unnecessary that they charge $15 for parking, given you park outside (no structure). Since all the front spots were already full, we parked in the rear lot by the pool which was convenient. I slept pretty darn well! Neighbors were quiet. Beds were comfy and clean. They even provided a small pack of alcohol wipes and extra shampoo/lotion. If you want breakfast, you can pick up a to go bag with cookies, bagel and cream cheese and granola bar. You also get juice or bottled water. I thought it was a nice gesture during COVID to provide guests with something to eat instead of giving no breakfast at all. Other than the sports bar / restaurant in the front there isn't much nearby other than other hotels and the freeway on ramp! But its perfect for a good night's rest and a quick drive to coastal cities on the 101. read more

My family and I were in town visiting family and were bargain shopping for hotels. This hotel was in the mix with a few others but we chose this one based on reviews on another website. Big mistake. Trip Advisor seems to have similar reviews to what I experienced. My first qualm with this hotel was the fact that they charged $10 a night for parking. Why? There's no gated security and it's not in a big city. Just a money grab from what I can tell. Second, was the dirty bathroom. I've included pictures of someone's hair in the tub when we first got in the room. And for some reason, the water in the tub was brown. Gross on both accounts. Third, the walls are paper thin here. We were constantly awakened by the footsteps of the room above us since we were on the first floor. This happened on multiple nights where it sounds like someone was stomping on the floor. While in fact it was just normal walking that was occurring since it was different guests that occupied that room during our stay. We also could here conversations and television from the other rooms us. They also seem to not care if large groups are going down the hallways making lots of noise after midnight. We have a baby that kept waking up because people were yelling at each other and slamming room doors. All this occurring near the front desk and they did nothing. Fourth, the front desk was rude. My wife simply asked if we could have an extra pillow and this was apparently asking for waaaay to much.... For a hotel! Front desk told my wife to come back the next morning for a pillow. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the pillow? Kind of need it to sleep during the night. Lastly, and maybe most egregious of all, the room itself was not properly cleaned. On the last night of our stay, I found two NyQuil pills on the floor by the night stand that were definitely not ours. Like I said, I have a baby and I'm just glad that she didn't find them and eat them since babies put everything into their mouths. I have found my new hotel in Camarillo. This hotel is really nice! Facade of the building is clean and well kept. Customer service is nice but I feel they could be better and more informative. The rooms I have always stayed in are clean, spacious and beds are super comfy. Which is priority to me! They also offer breakfast in the morning. It is basic breakfast, cereal, toast, coffee and etc; but enough to hold you over. There is also a gym that my boyfriend and I used once and really enjoyed. One thing I would say is, I wish they didn't charge $10 per night for parking but as long as the rooms stay clean and tidy I don't mind paying for parking. read more

I had a chance to stay at Fairfield over the weekend and what an awesome experience. The staff was friendly and full of smiles. I got a chance to meet each of them and they were diverse individuals each with a fun story about themselves. Some of the best parts about the hotel were it's lobby. It's clean, full of fun snacks for people on the go or awake late night. The hotel include an early morning breakfast with eggs, sausage, and 3 types of juices. They also provide free towels for the swimming pool, perfect on a hot day which is the usual in Southern California. Finally, the crowd was diverse with a mix of family, singles, and transient business people. The location is awesome for transient passengers, those looking for a beach, or if you want to take advantage of the discounts at the Camarillo outlets. It's also great that I got Marriott points with the stay and online check in was avail able. There's also a sportsman lounge next door if you want to try some lamb or grab a glass of wine. I got upgraded to a King suite which was awesome because there was 2 sections for me to chill in with 2 TVs, a fridge, and a large bathroom. Some things to keep in mind: * Bring a mask as you're in Socal and you'll want it to ride the elevator. * There's no alcohol served onsite (it's all next door) but you can pop over to Paso Robles or bars in the area. * Parking is ample so luggage with wheels are helpful * There is a jacuzzi so definitely bring swim trunks read more

If you spend extra money on an "executive suite", be warned, they are NOT all as described on the website and app. It is described as having a "separate living/sitting room" and the photos show two distinct spaces separated by a wall. Apparently, only 2 of the suites are like this and the others are an open space with no separation. We always do hotels with suite style rooms (Embassy Suites, Residence Inn, etc) so everyone can sleep comfortably. I changed to this hotel and paid more to be closer to a wedding venue with the expectation of what was described on their website. Had I known ahead of time that there was this possibility, I would have kept my original reservation. They get 2 stars for giving a $50 discount, but they really should be more transparent about this, especially since they charge the same for all the suites. read more

I recently stayed at this property July 4-6, 2024. I was there with a wedding party, so there were a lot of us. When I first checked into my original room, I had noticed that the bathroom I had a large trail of ants. Luckily, I had Lysol spray with me so I sprayed the ants. When I went back to my room later on in the day, there were less ants, but still ants there. So, I had went up to the front desk to ask for a room change and I was able to get upgraded to a suite which was very nice. However, on the day of the wedding July 5 a pipe had burst and we were not notified at all. We only found out since we were trying to shower and get ready for the big day. We had to go down and ask about what had happened and they informed us it should be fixed within an hour or so. However, we had to go to different hotels in order to shower and get ready for the wedding (bridal party). July 10, 2024 I had called to ask if there was some type of refund that I could get due to water being brown / black. Who ever i spoke to was able to get me a partial refund. But other people within the bridal party were able to get a 50% refund. This was a huge issue and I believe everyone that had an issue should be getting that 50% refund not a partial refund. I was also charged $10 for parking per night, but I told the receptionist I did not have a car the first night but ended up still getting charged for the first night. Do i recommend it was very close to the venue and close to a lot of shopping and restaurants, so if that's what you're looking for yes other than that no. read more

Very disappointed in this hotel. They don't enforce their policies. Even though they indicated people have to wear masks in public areas that's not enforced. Also the staff wasn't good about noise complaints. As a good member I asked for a room away from freeway but were probably the closest to. Also the neighbors were so loud. I had to call front desk twice and had one of my worst nights sleep. read more

My stay here was absolutely great! They still do breakfast but it's a grab and go. It's still good. You have choices of juice or water. Pool is open but by reservations only. The staff here is amazing! They take care of you so quickly when using the Marriott App! Definitely love the stay! Thank you again for a wonderful stay. read more
