Main courtyard is full of activity. They offer beach workout and yoga in the morning on the lawn facing the beach. No breakfast included so we bought a $20 breakfast burrito at Sugar Beats which is an Airstream in the middle of a courtyard by the spa. The coffee in the room was good so I had that. They offer surrey rentals to use on the bike path in front of the resort. They have a small but well equipped fitness center. Couple of issues: ants in the bathroom, completely empty shower gel and sink had drainage issues.

I have had a membership here for 3 years and have loved coming to the hotel to utilize what the membership has to offer. One of the "offers" is that we are given a pool pass to use throughout the year and I thought we were able to bring guests, but I guess that's not the case. I called the front desk and was transferred to Elizabeth who was rude from the get go. I asked if I could use my pool pass for a family member and she said no - only you can use it and the pass is verified with a number on the back of the card. My card does not have this number, and she accused me of lying. She also was extremely unprofessional and said "I don't know what to tell you girlfriend" when I asked if there is anything she could do to help resolve the situation. I told her that I was excited to renew my $350 membership this year but now I will not be renewing because of her unsatisfactory service. Her response was extremely sarcastic saying "Thanks for your phone call!". I expected a lot more from this highly rated hotel. I will not be going back ever again, and people who live in The Colony or surrounding areas should take note of this.

What a lovely property and fantastic location!…read more We were able to exchange through our DVC membership and I was SO EXCITED to see this location had availability during the annual Ventura Harbor Parade of Lights & Fireworks(separate review) weekend. We spotted this location last year when we were walking around the Ventura Harbor area for exercise, but discovered it is an owner-based/timeshare property. Previous Yelp reviews expressing disappointment that they could not change rooms when they could tell not all units were occupied may not understand the logistics and booking procedure for a owner-based resort property. That being said, when I booked through our exchange, I was confirmed with room #306, then found a map of the property online to see what type of view we may have. Not lucky enough to get a Harborside View room, but we were VERY happy with our "balcony in the trees". The reason I'm not committing to 5 stars is the tiny bed and the compact fridge. I think the bed is listed as a Queen, but it felt smaller than that. We could've elected to utilize the Queen pullout sofa, but didn't want to hassle with putting it away each day for the use of the sofa during TV viewing. But we made do with the bed, which was quite comfortable. The fridge was about the size of the mini dishwasher, and had a small freezer compartment, but also had warnings posted to not overfill, which we seemed to manage with our gallon of milk, pint of creamer, dozen eggs and cold cuts. So, yeah, a larger fridge would be nice, but I don't know where they could fit one in the unit, so we'll be sure to alter our cold food plan on a future stay. Hands down, Harbortown Point had THE MOST in-room supplies for a comfortable stay! My pictures show all the cookware, utensils, dishes, bakeware - microwave/convection oven with a user manual! There was also plenty of supplies should we need to clean anything or do dishes. Also a nice basket of coffee and tea to get us started in the AM. We were provided with a checklist upon check-in, asking me to make sure the inventory matched what was in the unit. I didn't know homework was going to be assigned, but the "Monica" in me LOVED IT! That showed me the owners here truly do care about upkeep and efficiency! There was actually more items in the unit than listed, so I cheerfully provided additional notes. LOL! Other features we enjoyed: A automated gas fireplace, with push button start was cozy, the curtains around the "bedroom area" of the studio suite were something I had never seen before and LOVED! The HUUUUGE bathroom with seated vanity table, the large balcony with pub height table and chairs, where we could sit at sunset and see the Channel Islands through the trees, the comfortable furnishing, the detailed instructions and binder for the property and surrounding areas, with suggestions of sites and activities, all the work put into the holiday lights! Just beautiful and welcoming. The property itself is well maintained. Evidence of ongoing work is evident throughout. Ken is a friendly maintenance guy, painting and working on upkeep around the grounds, and another A/C & Heating guy was also there during our stay. We really enjoyed our time at this special property, with plenty of included parking and plenty of interesting sights within walking distance. Harbortown Point gave us a relaxing, quiet stay and we very much look forward to returning many more times. Cheers! "CC"

I reserved a two-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment that comfortably accommodated three of us, and it could easily host a family of six thanks to its spacious layout and a convenient pullout couch downstairs. The amenities exceeded my expectations--shower pressure was excellent, making quick and refreshing showers easy especially if you're a big group. The condo includes utilities for four people, with plenty of towels provided (Thanks Tina). While there's no air conditioning, the ocean breeze just a block away kept the unit comfortably cool throughout our stay. A nice bonus was having a hot tub in each unit, perfect for relaxing evenings. Parking was also straightforward, with one dedicated spot included. A heads-up for warmer months: if you're sensitive to heat, keep in mind that summer temperatures can get quite hot, and the unit might feel warm without A/C. Additionally, because of the communal setup, it can get quite loud--sounds from neighboring units are audible--so don't forget your earplugs if you value quiet. Off-season, this spot is ideal for friends' getaways or a quick romantic escape. Overall, a charming and practical choice that offers great value and a fantastic location near the ocean.

What was once a beloved tradition has become a financial nightmare I cannot escape. The maintenance fees tell the whole story. When I first took ownership, fees were just over $900/year. In 2026, I'm being charged over $1,700 per week -- nearly double -- with no cap and no end in sight. Non-owners booking through 3rd party travel sites pay less per night than what I'm forced to pay annually as an owner. That's not ownership, that's a trap. In 2020, I was pressured into purchasing a second week during a high-pressure "time-sensitive" phone call, promised easy exchanges at Marriott, Hyatt, and Four Seasons properties worldwide. I never received a contract, never received my Grant Deed, and had to personally request it from the Ventura County Recorder years later -- at my own expense. I was never told these were perpetual contracts that survive death and pass to my children without their consent. The rental promises were completely hollow. I listed both weeks months in advance and not one single night was ever booked. The resort floods its own inventory first at cheaper prices, leaving owners with zero demand. Amenities have quietly vanished over the years -- covered parking, harbor cruises, pool access -- all gone. The property now operates mainly as a hotel, filled with short-term guests who ignore noise rules and damage what owners once took pride in maintaining. I am now unemployed and cannot afford the 2027 fees, yet I remain locked in forever. Do not buy here.

Someone found this and we were all about it. First off, it's a boat y'all. A fun getaway and on a boat, win win. I've stayed on cruises ships before but this was a first for our own. It's docked in Ventura harbor but not accessible to the open water. Upon checking in, which we had contact with the the hostess, wonderful lady in charge. We asked about an early check in but wasn't for sure if that could work out. Either way, we spent the morning on Main Street for brunch and then received a text offering us a check in a little early. Which was nice. Directions was given via text explaining where to park. She even guided us to the lot that would best be suited and nearby where there boat would be. Parking pass was given as well. Once there, she greeted us and walked us to the boat. It's docked right in the heart of the Ventura harbor where restaurants, shops are accessible right outside our door. Before getting on, of course mask was worn. She asked that only one of us would accompany her on so she can show them around the boat. She guided them through the ins and out of the boat. What to do and not to do and so on. Once we were on, the whole experience was pretty exciting. Upon entering the boat from the side and back. There's a seating area with a picnic table with umbrella. Also two chairs, where the driver of the boat and passenger would sit. Once in, you go down a couple of steps and your right in the living room/dining room. Living area has a built in sofa that could probably sleep a person. There's also a dining table with chairs and flat screen accompanied with dvd. There's also a kitchen a couple of steps down. Full fridge, sink, microwave, stove, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, kettle and so on. There's a powder room across from the kitchen. One side of the boat sleeps 2. Not full bed but bunk style minus the bunk bed. That's at the front of the boat. To the rear is where the main room is. From there, it sleeps 3. The main bed, a full size and an additional twin size to the opposite. It's also where the main restroom with shower is located. As it's right in the harbor, right outside is quite busy. There's a boat and kayak rental that's in-front of the boat. It didn't bother us. It was nice sitting on the deck and people watching. The kayakers going by and just enjoying the marina. The deck was perfect for drinks during sunset and breakfast in the morning. Overall experience was amazing. We had such a great time on the boat. Location was perfect. Plenty of restaurants to enjoy if your not interested in cooking in. Also, there's plenty of public restrooms in the village if needed. As well as the main club where boaters can utilize for showers and sort if not on your boat. Location is amazing. There's a beach literally walking distance across the parking lot. Totally will be a returning customer.

Here, you will stay in a trailer (possibly an Airstream or something like an Airstream) and you are probably a 10 minute walk to the beach. Beat that. If you have ever stayed in a trailer, you know it's tight quarters. But you get your own kitchen and bathroom and it's a heckuva lot more fun than a bland, stale hotel room. The site has firepits. Even better, they give you complimentary s'more kits with all the fixings. They have BBQs for grilling. They give you cookies and yogurt in the morning. They even give you oranges so you can squeeze your own orange juice. I don't drink orange juice normally but the juice here was outstanding. They have books and games available for borrowing. They have hammocks and swings and picnic tables. They have bikes for free rental. They have freshly-baked cookies that are delicious. There is apple cider and hot chocolate. There are a lot of amenities here which you simply will not find at most hotels. The train runs right by here and it's loud and shocking at first but it doesn't come by that often and you get used to it. Inside the trailer, aside from the train, the grounds are extremely quiet. This is a fun place and something different. The location is great and you get a lot of value for your money.
