Yeah, one of the worst Marriotts I have stayed in. I travel for a living and live in hotels. I could hardly bare my on night stay. It seemed over priced, cramped and the smallest hotel rooms I have stayed in on the West Coast. The hotel was overbuilt on a small lot so you get miniature rooms and small parking area. I think they just give me claustrophobia but to each his own. Although I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and always stay in Marriott, I can't do this place again. read more

Been here for two weeks. The location is very convenient. Close to stores and restaurants. I had a suite room equipped with microwave and fridge. The bed and pillows could have been better. It's not as comfortable as other MARRIOT locations. The studio type suite is spacious enough and has good counter space in the bathroom. Sound proofing is not the best, the outside noise bothered me from time to time. But when it gets a little later, it gets quiet. Breakfast is decent. I wish they'd have different varieties each day. For someone who stays here longer, it gets very tiring to eat the same food every morning. Maybe alternate bacon with sausage or have some homemade potatoes some days, etc. the staff is super friendly, they get five stars. It's too pricey if you don't have corporate rate or AAA etc. read more

We spent the night at this property a few weeks ago, For 99 bucks it was just OK, no flat screen TV, but that may not be an issue for most people. The beds were comfy and the do it yourself waffles are always a hit with me, they also have an assortment of microwavable Jimmy Dean breakfast muffins and bisquits along with all the standards you expect at a hotel breakfast of this level. read more

Clean, right off the freeway, plenty of restaurants, a Walmart and Starbucks right closeby, free breakfast in the morning - and here is the key to my "would have been four stars" (read last sentence for explanation), it is a reasonably full breakfast, albeit it DIY. They have scrambled eggs, bacon, a waffle maker, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, Jimmy Dean Microwaveable Breakfast Muffins (sausage, ham and bacon varieties available during our stay) and assorted juices. 4 star meal? Not even close, but to come downstairs from your room with the kids and pony up to a totally causal, but filling, breakfast, before getting back on the road, it hits the spot. They also have a indoor heated pool (really small) and hot tub, small workout room. All in all, perfect place for an overnighter at a very reasonable price. Kids had a good time. As for the the other Yelpers wanting a flat screen TV, stay at the premium branded Marriott...this is the $89 Fairfield...tv worked didn't it (???)...geez, give them a break and an honest Yelp for crying out loud. Only thing they DON'T mention on top of the taxes you would expect at a hotel, is a $3.00 "Energy Tax" in your bill - no pre-mention of that anywhere on the website nor upon the checkin form they have you sign. totally rude. my suite had a curtain that had brown stains on it. had construction workers working at the crack of dawn. rudely awoken and had got charged 300$ because my daughter had left some play dough on the carpet. read more

For a small town Marriott chain hotel, this facility was clean and modern (except for the old-style TV sets in the room). The staff was very friendly and responsive--a nice place to stay in Ukiah--I would recommend it. read more

I am so happy that I chose this hotel for my business trip! I'll cut to the chase - this bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I think I've ever slept on. I have a nice bed at home but this one is more comfortable and I don't want to leave. Otherwise, check-in was super easy and nice, I was given a choice about which floor I wanted, and my room is super quiet. Location is perfect, and breakfast was really nice and had everything I needed. I chose this hotel over others in the area mainly because it has a little indoor pool and I thought my toddler could play in it (fam is joining me here tonight and it's not warm enough to swim outside right now), but really lucked out for myself. It's not fancy and it's annoying that my bathroom door shuts by itself, but I'd definitely recommend. We booked a King suite - Probably the smallest and most cramped room we stayed in on a 10 day trip, and we were not able to book a suite in a number of hotels. The "linens" were a joke. They were so worn - I would have rag-bagged them long ago. The sheet wouldn't stay on the bed, it was so worn out. And one of the 3 bath towels was actually gray instead of white. And all should have been trashed. Most hotels have gone to flat screen TV, not these guys, and the reception/resolution in what they offered was terrible! Ghost images, blurry, etc. Can't say anything about the breakfast. Don't do those much, and this place didn't inspire confidence. the only staff we dealt with was at check in. If she had smiled, I am sure her face would have cracked off and revealed her true persona. Its California, so 11% room tax, plus a $3 per night energy fee? I am a tried and true Marriott person, and i hated this hotel! Paid $160 for a suite...alot for a fairfield. Suckerd in by nice pictures. Room was tiny! So small that it was difficult to get chair out from the desk. If you opened door to bath, you totally blocked door to hallway. If you opened the closet door, it blocked the bed. My suite had a lovely view of a wall 3 feet out window! Ok i am in northern Ca and for the price, I want a view! Do yourself a favor and stay at the hotel right next door! read more

Worst hotel stay ever.... there are stale popcorn in the microwave that has been there for at least a week. Things under the sink that are not cleaned and the fire alarm keeps going off because they allowed pot heads to stay in room 301 and smoke the whole room up. I didn't see this place before the remodel (that's still going on) but right now it's a really nice midrange option. We usually stay at the Hampton next door, but I got the Fairfield for about $30 less and I wanted an indoor pool for the kids. The pool is tiny, which actually works well for parents who need to watch their kids closely, and there's a really nice jacuzzi. Both were spotless. Likewise, the workout room is tiny, with only three machines, but is clean and well stocked. Breakfast was good, with a variety of options including vegetarian sausage patties, bacon, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, juice and coffee. Our room was pretty standard, nice furnishings, freshly painted, Paul Mitchell hair products (!), and absolutely spotless. The bed was comfy enough, maybe a little soft but certainly serviceable. Oh and be forewarned: not only was the front desk staff super friendly and helpful, they also handed out brownies and cookies. read more

This place was lame. I'm sorry, I wasn't even going to review this place because it was a spur of the moment visit and got busy afterwards, but Yelp apparently knew I visited this place and recommended it. So, for starts, I had to switch rooms because I was afraid it was unclean. I found a tee shirt by the bed and was concerned that if they overlooked that they may have overlooked other areas of cleanliness. Both rooms closets had issues with the door's tracks. The breakfast wasn't being replenished and the worker spent so much time making her coffee, when it was finally refreshed, I had to wait for her..really awkward. A lot of stupid little things. I was making a reservation for a work group to attend a conference. The number of people kept changing and every time I called to adjust the reservation the concierge were lovely and helpful. When I was checking in yesterday I had noticed that the breakfast room behind the lobby being so disproportionally small. At the time I thought to myself, "maybe because this is a very small motel". Well, turned out it is not that small of a motel afterall. This morning at breakfast it was a mad house. By 8:30 when everyone knows the breakfast hour will be over in 30 min, all came to eat and had to fight for a spot. About half of the people got no table nor chair so ended up eating while standing, myself included. The line to get food was also jammed, while many items were out and not yet refilled. People were literally bumping into each other, and tension went high. My suggestion to management is this: 1) Enlarge the room to the size that is proportional to the amount of guests 2) Knowing that it might not be practical to reconstruct, at least extend the breakfast hour to longer so people don't need to all rush there at the same time 3) As a last resort, provide serving trays so people can take food to eat in their own room. With all that said, I doubt management would do anything because they weren't anywhere to be seen. No body seemed to be in charge so far for the last 2 days since I've here. The girl at the front desk when I checked in was quite unfriendly as well. The whole experience made me feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable. Next time when in Ukiah I will definitely stay at the Hampton Inn next door. read more

They said that the front entrance would be locked and secured at 10 pm. B.S.!! Door was open past 1AM and no attendant around. I had to yell for him to come around. After I said what was going on he just stood there and didn't say anything. I don't think he really cared at all . Across the street is a Walmart and a gas station. I went across the street to get a beer at the gas station and had to muster up my old street skills as this was one of the most sketchy areas I have been to in a long time. People riding bikes around - people sitting on street corners - people sitting in cars and just walking around and coming out from behind trees. When I got back to the hotel and walked up to the door around midnight and it just come open with no attendant at all. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. I went up to my room and looked out the window and watched people lurking around. Went back down to the lobby and again no attendant - I yelled for him and he came around and was not very concerned that the door was open at 12:30 AM - WTF !!! Paid $160.00 for one night. Worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. If given a choice I prefer just about every other Marriott chain that exists than Marriott Fairfields, however this particular Fairfield was the worst experience I can recall having at any hotel. When I walked in there were two very young guys attending the front desk. There was only one woman in front of me checking in and her two little girls were running in circles in the middle of the lobby yelling and jumping back and forth on the sofas with their shoes and socks off. Both of the front desk clerks continued to talk to the woman in front of me and didnt even acknowledge the fact that I had walked in. Eventuall the woman started yelling at her kids but then stopped because the desk attendant told her it was okay for her kids to run around with no shoes and jump on the furniture. The woman just said "alright, if you say its okay then i wont argue". I finally get to my room to discover a very plain and basic room for even a fairfield. While getting settled in I noticed 2 silverfish, 3 pincher bugs/earwigs, and 2 a centipede crawling on the floor, walls and ceiling of the bathroom, and I am not a fan of bugs especially in hotel rooms I pay over $100 to stay in. More features and amenities: the room was dirty and dusty The water pipes practically shake the hotel room whenever someone turns on a faucet or shower in the apartments above. The hotel is located in a sketchy area. There was something that looked like birdshit near the base of the bedside table lamp. I have stayed almost in every hotel in Ukiah. Whenever I am in town, i stay between 2 days and a week. Now, the room I got was very clean the cleaning staff very friendly and courterous. However, the manager/ owner of the hotel is really rude. I was really offended on how he treated/ spoke to some of his staff in a very condensending manner. Not sure if it is a culture thing or what. Additionally, the front desk lady appeared to have been on some type of drug or really was out of it. I asked her a question about the new restaurant and she just had a blank stare. Location right off freeway was nice. We had a very hard time finding a place to eat dinner that night, which is not the hotel's fault. Got a room that same day so we were grateful for that. The kids were glad it had a pool, although it was small and crowded. The room was comfortable and had cable TV. Comes with breakfast included. Overall, a basic hotel stay. On Aug.14, 2013, after driving 11 hours and no hotel rooms available anywhere, I called the Fairfield Inn and suites in Ukiah California (707)462-3600. It was almost 10pm and we were still 2 hours away but we were so glad to find out they had rooms available which made the long drive through bearable. The Night Clerk/Man that answered the phone and proceeded to take my reservation information abruptly interrupted me saying hold on and set the phone down. I could hear the phone ringing in the background and him talking to someone so I figured he must be busy, no problem. He got back on the phone and continued taking our information. Just as I was about to give him my credit card info we lost the call while driving through an area with scattered reception. I called back a couple minutes later started to apologize and we again lost the call. This time we waited until we drove to an area about 15 mins. away, that had strong cell reception and called back. We were on the car speaker phone and my husband proceeded to tell the clerk who we were and apologized, stating we were on a cell phone in the car and the reception was bad. As my husband was speaking the clerk interrupted him and said in an irritated voice ' Yea, you hung up on me'. Again my husband apologized but was interrupted by his now angry voice saying " Sorry Guy, were full, go try the Travelodge on the north end of town", this was followed by the phone being slammed down. I wondered if they were really full or if he was just being a piss ant, so since we were still in an area with good reception I went onto the Marriot App on my phone and made a reservation. Yes, they still had rooms available, the clerk was obviously just being a major jerk. I was able to book online and received a confirmation number. All is well, I thought. About 45 mins. later I decided to check my confirmation number online to make sure everything was in order so that there was no problems when we got there. I was dreading the exchange with the clerk! I am soooo glad I did! Putting my confirmation number in showed my reservation had been cancelled. I was beyond mad so I called the Marriot reservation line (800)800-5705. It was now 11pm. I spoke to a very nice lady, I believe her name was Donna, or something similar. She pulled up the Fairfield Inn confirmation number that I had received and said yes, it had been cancelled by the Hotel. Thinking maybe they sold out before the online reservation system updated, she put me on hold and had her supervisor call the hotel to confirm. She came back on and stated, No, they were not full and still had King beds available. She asked me if we still wanted to book a room, but not wanting to take a chance at having it cancelled again before we got there we declined. I was then given the phone number to the Marriot customer service to report the incident. I am calling them now. I can't review the hotel itself but I can say the night clerk/man was impossibly rude and purposely lied to us. read more
