This place has really gone downhill in the last year. Where to start there are so many problems. I know it's under renovation but I think they're like two people working here and no housekeeping. The two stars is for the people at the front desk being so friendly...when you can find them. Where to start..... 1) bathroom: see video: the tile was cracked in multiple places, there was a black substance leaking out of the shower head, and when I turned on the faucet, it spewed black junk all over the tub. There was also sand and hair in the tub. Gross. Empty Kleenex box with no replacement in sight. 2) no hair dryer, no iron 3)beds had no blankets, or if they were blankets they were as thin as sheets. Felt like I was sleeping on a box spring not a mattress. No spare blankets but there were three extra pillows literally thrown haphazardly in the closet. Called down for Kleenex and a blanket. Next morning a box of Kleenex was in a laundry bag outside my door. No blanket. Came back 8 hours later , app says "blanket delivered" . It has not. I had to call down again for it. 4) door to the outside has been propped open since we got here. Not sure overnight or not but no one is working....why is it propped open? 5) housekeeping does not appear to exist. Cup on the windowsill at the end of the hallway when I checked in on Friday. Sunday morning it's still there. As are the three bags of trash next to the elevator. 6) no idea when the breakfast floor was last cleaned. Footprints everywhere and you can hear the stickiness 7) weird white powder in my room. Have they been cleaned at all??? I feel like there are about 3 employees here and no housekeeping. I understand you're renovating but this is completely unacceptable, especially the mold or metal shavings that spew into the shower. Between that and getting a terrible night's sleep I hope I never have to come back.

We had a nice stay here . Rooms are clean and staff is really helpful . The best part is they have a golf cart to take u to the beach . Also getting back you have to call them and they are there in few minutes . Just we have to cross the signal and wait in the parking lot . The swimming pool water was bit cold . But I guess the temp keeps flickering in October . They have alligator and turtles in the water . That's so nice to see . Improvement :- they should stop using disposables for free breakfast . Why ruin a beautiful place . They should start using recycle silverware please.

We loved our room it was clean and comfortable I also loved how they make everything personal to you for example when I got the TV on each time the TV would post a welcome greeting to me it's the little things for me I enjoyed my stay.

Obstacles in front of the elevator.

The worst hotel experience I have ever personally had. They are NOT on the beach, they are blocks away and have a "private gate entrance" across the highway. It's not a terrible walk, but the images and wording are misleading. Next, their site does NOT say they're under construction (the desk said "Marriott.com does." The building door locks didn't work so you either got locked out or they were left unsecured (depending on the door you chose), they also didn't know that the key cards weren't working at the doors by the breakfast room. The construction workers kept blocking all three parking lot entry and exit points. We had to complain when a line of cars were trying to get out and none of them were moving the cones or equipment for cars to exit. The elevator broke down and trapped people REPEATEDLY. They called me in the middle of my stay saying "you want to stay another day?" I said "My reservation is for another day?!" She then proceeded to tell me that I was checking out that day. I pulled up my confirmation and checked, I prepaid for another day. Then had to give her my confirmation. They claimed "system errors yesterday must have had it wrong." I went to the office because I was concerned about overcharges. They assured me all was well. The tv never worked, we waited 45 min one evening for someone to "come fix" and they never sent anyone. The bathroom by lobby was clean but soap empty our entire stay in first dispenser, paper towels were out for at least a day and they didn't refill even after advised. The duvet was nasty stained, we didn't notice until til the morning checking out, as it had a cover sheet over it. Obstacles throughout, trash cans were gross (see pics). Upon check out the numbers on my invoice didn't match my reservation total. I brought it to her attention and was told "it's $20/day incidentals." I said no, the amount doesn't match. She said they couldn't correct the bill. I have never had my nights/taxes not match and there were NO room charges/incidentals! So I was given the general managers card. I'm sure I'll be taking to Visa, as the detail Does Not reflect the same charges. Just thing after thing and they don't seem to really care or try to fix. Just a lot of excuses.

This was a very last minute trip during High Season. The manager Karen Choate & Sales Director Marlo Webb went above and beyond to accommodate my last minute request. The entire staff was also very friendly & attentive. The hotel is across the street from the beach w/ a Cart Shuttle to bring you to & from. It's not that far though & chose to walk, but is available. There is a private beach area for the hotel & walkway down. You can bring your own chairs or are available for rent on the beach.

The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

Live music every day by the pool was awesome! And talented performers! The beach itself is right behind the resort and has the softest sand. Wanted was rough but we were still able to get in a slash around and jump some waves. The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

The main complaints were that it involved too much walking (from the parking lot, to the room, etc). Unless you are significantly disabled and if so, I have no idea how you get around in the world, it's really not much walking at all. If you think this is too much walking, never live in NYC you will not survive. If the issue is walking from the parking lot, do valet and you don't have to walk from the parking lot. If the issue is walking from the main building, you have to walk MAYBE 1/3-1/2 of a football field to the building where the rooms are. It's such a nothingburger it's like a joke. If anyone thinks that is a lot of walking, they probably need to call Dr. Now. Another issue I saw in a review is that it is hard to find. It isn't. Like, at all. There is a sign and you can see it from the road. I hope that person is ok they might need to get their eyes checked. Now that I'm done talking shit, let's talk about the good things. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The views are stunning and from everywhere. From the main check in lodge, from the pool, from the beach front view rooms, from the restaurants. We had a balcony and it was just water/beach/gulf views. It was legit comparable to resorts we stayed in in Cancun and Seminyak, Bali. The water wasn't quite as "blue/turquoise" but not much The Lodge can do about that. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is lovely. The shower was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and soft. The AC worked very well. There were a bunch of outlets on my side but less on the other side (however there were outlets on both sides). The restaurants had, as I said above, excellent views. They also has wonderful staff and very tasty food. They could have done better with the vegetarian options. The bread was probably the best part and was some of the best bread and whipped butter I have ever had. They do that shit where they text you and ask if you need anything, which is very helpful especially for us millennials. GF asked me to request an extra blanket, which I did. The response time was great, it was super fast. They told me they would send one up but never did, which was a bummer. Another piece of feedback, shortly after 8:30am, we had a knock at the door. GF was in the bathroom and I was getting dressed. They knocked again. I, half dressed, opened the door. It was housekeeping asking if we were checking out. Uh....yeah, we are.. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. What if we wanted to sleep in? What if I was out and GF was on the toilet? What if someone was getting out of the shower? It just feels like an invasion of privacy. It just seems wild that housekeeping felt like bothering us to find out if we were checking out. I would definitely stay here again if I returned but I would put the "do not disturb" sign up

The only complaint is that the maintenance guys (internet guys?) unexpectedly came in two times (once on Thursday & once on Friday) to work on our room WiFi. We had been having trouble with it, but had not filed a repair request. Apparently, they were changing the boxes out in every room so every time our WiFi dropped it was because we were unknowingly connected to surrounding rooms' WiFi since ours didn't work and as they were taken offline, we saw it as it happened. It's good that they were changing out the boxes but we didn't understand why the front desk didn't give us a heads up. After all, they had texted me twice, once with the welcome text and again with a follow up text. A simple FYI would've been appreciated. Other than that non-communication, everything else was great.
