We stayed at this location for 2 nights. Each night was in a different room because it was a different reservation. The first night we stayed in a 2 queen room. It was ok. The refrigerator didn't get very cold. When I went into the bathroom I noticed a large wad of hair on the floor that didn't belong to anyone in our room. Several of the doors in the room squeaked horribly! It was like nails on a chalkboard. None of this was worth the trouble of trying to move. The following night we moved to a larger room, 2 queen suite. There was a hole in the ceiling and the toilet seat was cracked through. Again we chose to not move and just report it on our way out. We didn't visit the breakfast the first morning but we did the second. I believe they had a nice selection. It was hard to tell. By the time we got there at 9am both warmers of eggs were almost completely empty. They had a warmer labeled as having sausage and turkey sausage in it. My daughter and I grabbed the very last 3 pieces out which had turned to cardboard. They did offer oatmeal, yogurt, a variety of baked goods, add ins for your oatmeal/yogurt/waffle, and several waffle stations with a variety of syrups. All of the staff we came in contact with were very friendly and prompt to greet us and assist with what we needed. I do believe I saw one employee sleeping on the couch in the main lobby when i came down around 6 or 7am Sunday morning. He was dressed all in black and face down though so I'm not 100% sure it was an employee. I've stayed at much worse places but I've stayed at better. read more

A facade of luxury. Dirty, dirty, dirty and run down. Dirty sheets, unvacumed carpets, dust, dirty windows, broken toilet, and fecal stains on sofa. Even after housekeeping arrived, the place was still gross and dirty but the dead roach on the ceiling was removed. This is just a $135.00 a night motel. Go elsewhere.​ read more

Stayed there recently. Within 2 days of being there I had 2 Makeup bags go missing. One of which had my engagement and wedding rings in it. I brought it up to the front desk and they said they hadn't seen them. We kept asking the front desk people if there was anything they could do and they kept saying they hadn't seen them. I'm guessing they were stolen and they aren't going to do anything about it. So, if you do stay here don't leave anything you care about in your room. Because it will "disappear" into someones pocket. read more

This stay was unacceptable from start to finish. The hotel was clearly under complete renovation/construction and a complete mess, which was not disclosed at booking. There were loose nails in the parking area near the entrance, creating a serious safety hazard that staff failed to address until I intervened. Our room had no hot water, a non-working phone, and delayed maintenance with no clear response time. When I tried to cancel due to these issues, I was promised a refund within 7 days. That time has passed, and both the room charge and $60 security deposit are still pending. To make matters worse, management refused to speak with me despite multiple attempts. Calls were screened, and I was never allowed to speak directly with the manager. I was told to take it up with my bank. My bank says it's the merchant holding it. We drove 14 hours for this trip and were treated with complete disregard. Luckily, we had friends that secured other lodging for us. However, not everyone has this option available to them. This experience showed a lack of safety, transparency, and customer service. I would not recommend staying here. I will also be writing a formal complaint letter to corporate. read more

Perhaps worst hotel experience I've ever had: waited long time for staff to be available at front desk & then they come in 15 minutes or so later from outside. He said he would give us a free upgrade but didn't , instead, sent us to a room under construction. We had to go back & wait more to get another room near the construction. That room was loud past 9pm due to construction when we finally called & they stopped by 10pm. The sofa bed has nothing but springs on it with a thin layer of fabric....my kid wouldn't even sleep on it & he has never complained about sleeping on the floor or bed. By the way, this was all on thanksgiving. No sheets or anything for sofa bed either. We didn't get any kind of compensation for the late night of noise or anything. Some of the worst customer service I've ever seen & I will avoid Fairfield & associates brands in the future if possible due to this stay. read more

This place has really gone downhill in the last year. Where to start there are so many problems. I know it's under renovation but I think they're like two people working here and no housekeeping. The two stars is for the people at the front desk being so friendly...when you can find them. Where to start..... 1) bathroom: see video: the tile was cracked in multiple places, there was a black substance leaking out of the shower head, and when I turned on the faucet, it spewed black junk all over the tub. There was also sand and hair in the tub. Gross. Empty Kleenex box with no replacement in sight. 2) no hair dryer, no iron 3)beds had no blankets, or if they were blankets they were as thin as sheets. Felt like I was sleeping on a box spring not a mattress. No spare blankets but there were three extra pillows literally thrown haphazardly in the closet. Called down for Kleenex and a blanket. Next morning a box of Kleenex was in a laundry bag outside my door. No blanket. Came back 8 hours later , app says "blanket delivered" . It has not. I had to call down again for it. 4) door to the outside has been propped open since we got here. Not sure overnight or not but no one is working....why is it propped open? 5) housekeeping does not appear to exist. Cup on the windowsill at the end of the hallway when I checked in on Friday. Sunday morning it's still there. As are the three bags of trash next to the elevator. 6) no idea when the breakfast floor was last cleaned. Footprints everywhere and you can hear the stickiness 7) weird white powder in my room. Have they been cleaned at all??? I feel like there are about 3 employees here and no housekeeping. I understand you're renovating but this is completely unacceptable, especially the mold or metal shavings that spew into the shower. Between that and getting a terrible night's sleep I hope I never have to come back. read more

We had a nice stay here . Rooms are clean and staff is really helpful . The best part is they have a golf cart to take u to the beach . Also getting back you have to call them and they are there in few minutes . Just we have to cross the signal and wait in the parking lot . The swimming pool water was bit cold . But I guess the temp keeps flickering in October . They have alligator and turtles in the water . That's so nice to see . Improvement :- they should stop using disposables for free breakfast . Why ruin a beautiful place . They should start using recycle silverware please. read more

When we checked in, I asked if there was a map of the area, and Mikayla said no. I asked about how to get to the beach, and she told us the beach access was adjacent to the restaurant next door. In fact, it was across a busy street. The pool had paint chips in it from some construction work being done to the windows. When I went to the front desk to report this, one employee came out to take a picture of it. No one did anything! A room guest ended up cleaning the pool. Breakfast was great, but this was not our usual Marriott experience...I probably wouldn't stay here again. read more

Jody the receptionist made our stay exceptional-she was so helpful by providing information, getting towels or sheets delivered and kind and cheerful. The worst hotel experience I have ever personally had. They are NOT on the beach, they are blocks away and have a "private gate entrance" across the highway. It's not a terrible walk, but the images and wording are misleading. Next, their site does NOT say they're under construction (the desk said "Marriott.com does." The building door locks didn't work so you either got locked out or they were left unsecured (depending on the door you chose), they also didn't know that the key cards weren't working at the doors by the breakfast room. The construction workers kept blocking all three parking lot entry and exit points. We had to complain when a line of cars were trying to get out and none of them were moving the cones or equipment for cars to exit. The elevator broke down and trapped people REPEATEDLY. They called me in the middle of my stay saying "you want to stay another day?" I said "My reservation is for another day?!" She then proceeded to tell me that I was checking out that day. I pulled up my confirmation and checked, I prepaid for another day. Then had to give her my confirmation. They claimed "system errors yesterday must have had it wrong." I went to the office because I was concerned about overcharges. They assured me all was well. The tv never worked, we waited 45 min one evening for someone to "come fix" and they never sent anyone. The bathroom by lobby was clean but soap empty our entire stay in first dispenser, paper towels were out for at least a day and they didn't refill even after advised. The duvet was nasty stained, we didn't notice until til the morning checking out, as it had a cover sheet over it. Obstacles throughout, trash cans were gross (see pics). Upon check out the numbers on my invoice didn't match my reservation total. I brought it to her attention and was told "it's $20/day incidentals." I said no, the amount doesn't match. She said they couldn't correct the bill. I have never had my nights/taxes not match and there were NO room charges/incidentals! So I was given the general managers card. I'm sure I'll be taking to Visa, as the detail Does Not reflect the same charges. Just thing after thing and they don't seem to really care or try to fix. Just a lot of excuses. read more

Traveling with my Fab Fiancée is fun! We live to love and love to travel! Fairfield Inn & Suites properties have become, for us, a consistent and predictable lodging choice while on the road. So far, regardless of location we've found them to be newer, impeccably clean and quite comfortable with a friendly & caring staff. Orange Beach's Fairfield Inn maintains that standard! As we were checking in, the front desk guys Thomas and Michael were extremely helpful answering all of our questions and making us feel right at home. We were pleased to find the beds cozy comfortable. Firm and supportive but not overly so. The a/c maintained the room temp best when I left the fan in the 'on' setting, instead of 'auto'. There were no sleep disrupting noises or sounds thankfully. We got a real good night's sleep. The breakfast is pretty good. The serving and eating areas were very clean. All the food items were kept hot, or cold, respectively. Even fussy folks should find favor in the flavors. As others have mentioned this hotel is not on the beach, but rather directly across the street. Beach goers are well advised to take advantage of the hotel-provided shuttle to and from the gated beach access point. We found that out the hard way. The city is adding a concrete highway divider median to prevent traffic from randomly crossing the street. I'm sure this is due to frequent accidents, etc. So now you can only turn to the right(West) once exiting the property. A potential aggravation or inconvenience if you were intending on hitting the beach or driving East. You'll have to drive a wee bit before there is a left turn/U-turn opening. As our first day here is drawing to a close, we decided to extend for another night. Bridgette in Housekeeping was right there to freshen up our room. We liked that! Fab One and I are looking forward to finding some good local eating spots(reviews to follow) and getting another well-deserved good night's sleep courtesy of Fairfield Inn. This hotel is currently under renovation upon check in was told that they would be renovating between the hours of 8AM-6PM. Came back to hotel first night and they were still cleaning up and making noise with loud blower after 7:15PM which woke my 9 month old daughter up. Hotel room was fine but the floor and carpet in the room is disgusting. Water was shut off from 12-5PM one day but was left a note at 10 AM about this. I don't believe they should be charging full price for a room when you can't even shower to go to dinner and they literally gave a 2 hour window of notice. not very professional. Other than these incidents the stay was fine - close to the beach walking distance with beach access and close to Walmart and some ice cream shops. All the staff was friendly- the Breakfast lady worked very hard to replace food quickly- she is an asset to the hotel. read more

If you don't have anywhere else to stay this is your last resort. First, our suite was very smelly and musty. It made us sick so we asked to switch rooms. I will say, the staff was friendly and gave us a different room. The room smelled fine and we didn't have a problem. Next, I look into the shower and it's moldy and has hair everywhere. In fact that's the reason (the mold) it smelled awful in the room we were in before! Oh and The TVs don't work either. The towels smelled. There were a lot of smells of weed throughout the hallway. I didn't enjoy my stay, but the ocean across the road is stunning. read more

No issues and enjoyed our stay here. Its located about two blocks off the main drag in Orange Beach so its not on the beach, but they have they own private access to the beach and will also take you there and back on a golf cart if you ask. The facilities are clean and up to date and the staff is friendly. You are a short walking distance to a Walmart, a liquor, ice shops, a grocery store, and some restaurants. Plus you are not in the center of all the action so the traffic isn't nearly as bad as it is down toward Gulf Shores. Didn't use the pool area, but it looked pretty good with a small hot tub nearby as well. Once again I enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. This was a very last minute trip during High Season. The manager Karen Choate & Sales Director Marlo Webb went above and beyond to accommodate my last minute request. The entire staff was also very friendly & attentive. The hotel is across the street from the beach w/ a Cart Shuttle to bring you to & from. It's not that far though & chose to walk, but is available. There is a private beach area for the hotel & walkway down. You can bring your own chairs or are available for rent on the beach. read more

The staff was friendly, and the room is very clean. The beds are very comfortable. However, the TV didn't have any sound as you had to turn it on and off three times to get it to work. When we talked to the front desk, they said they would have someone fix it and three days later nothing. Also lacking in hot water. Not sure I would stay there again primarily because of the hot water problem And the fact at the front desk really didn't do anything about the TV annoyance. The breakfast was fine although it was the identical breakfast each day. I've been in other Marriotts where they vary the morning breakfast a bit. Again, comfortable beds and a clean room. read more

one word, horrible. i would like to leave 0 stars but it won't let me. i can't even put into words how gross it was to be put on a floor being under renovation. there were people painting the elevator doors and walls, which resulted in me & my friends getting headaches from the paint fumes. we were walking on tarps just to get to the elevators. the workers also proceeded to stay in the parking lot at night which is scary being a young girl. i'm just in utter shock that we were not moved to a room on a floor with no renovations. i did complain, but that didn't do justice to the situation. overall this should've been brought to our attention prior to booking a room, or advertised on the website. the "sorry for the inconvenience" signs were not elaborative enough. avoid at ALL costs. read more

Booked our 3 night stay with Marriott points and drove 12 hours only to find out they overbooked rooms and did not have a room for us. Front desk couldn't care less. Had to drive around at midnight and go hotel to hotel looking for a vacancy. Complete nightmare. Will never stay at another Fairfield again. read more

Me and my family stayed here for a long weekend and it was great! All but it was a rainy and cool weekend...the hotel was super nice and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is traveling it is worth the money. You do not have to drive anywhere unless you just want too, everything is in walking distance. read more

If you are platinum elite do not expect to be treated as a platinum elite customer. Early checkin was not honored... I requested noon checkin, showed up and still had me leave and come back twice only to keep telling me neither of my rooms were ready. Finally at 3pm they had 1 of my 2 rooms available and was told to come back at 4 for the second. The rooms and hotel are average nothing special, they need housekeeping to work continuously throughout the elevators, halls and lobby. They get 3 stars due to location and ease of access to beach, restaurants and stores. read more

I chose Fairfield Inn because of the great rate, especially compared to the hotels across the highway that fronted the Gulf. Not having a gulf view for a night was fine with me since I had stayed in a beach front condo the previous week. Not only were rates super reasonable, but all rooms were offered at the same low rate, including King Suites, Queen Suites and Queen Rooms with balconies. I didn't use my balcony overlooking the pool, but it would be awesome in the summer time. And I liked having a separate closet so I could store my stuff without it being seen. From the common areas to the hallways to the room itself, everything was well maintained and clean. It felt fresh with the appearance of being brand new. Service was friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk during check in. And the free breakfast, although pretty standard, was a nice perk and one I didn't realize Fairfield offered. The other big plus for me was the business center with free public computer access. I hate traveling with my devices when I'm on a leisure trip and I love the ability to check email at a computer in the lobby. It was a great setup that offered privacy, something most hotel business centers lack. I've always perceived Fairfield Inn to be more expensive than I'm willing to pay, at the upper end of its star rating. But, it was clearly the least expensive option available and a terrific find. I'll definitely consider them for my travel needs more often as a result of my stay here. read more

Overall this is a great place and good price. Walking distance to the beach with provided beach towels. Free breakfast too. Clean and comfortable room. We got to check in early too. Forgot what his name but the afternoon guy was very helpful. The evening girl that was there not so much. I went down to ask her for some spoons and see if she had any more make up remover wipes. She seem very hesitant and annoyed to help me. Then I saw she had an earpiece in her ear. I guess I was a bother to her speaking to whoever was on her other line. Clearly saw it on her face. We were forced to evacuate Panama City Beach this year due to Hurricane Michael so we headed to Gulf Shores. Obviously we had already paid for a full week there and didn't want to go home so my husband decided that we would head West. While being on a budget, we booked the Fairfield Inn. This hotel immediately was swamped with people that had this same idea. They accommodated everyone and took such good care of us. I truly can't say one bad thing about our experience. The staff was SO friendly and we are so thankful to stay at a place that was close to the ocean, had a great pool, and was affordable for our family. I also feel like the complimentary breakfast deserves a paragraph of its own!! What a great spread of fresh great food! They had everything from waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, juice, yogurt, fresh fruit, and so much more! Our kids were so excited to go to breakfast every day and then they were full until dinner! We would 110% stay here again! They also have a great shuttle that takes you to and from the beach!!!! Super clean hotel! Except the carpet was kind of wet. Don't walk barefoot. My room were pretty clean, ac cold enough! Don't use coffeemaker unless you clean them yourself. Our deadbolt isn't closing all the way. This is a non smoking hotel, the smoking area will be in the front or the side of the hotel. They have a golf cart to send you at the stop light crossing the street. Breakfast was pretty decent. They will charge you extra fee incase of something. Overall it was a nice stay, wouldn't trade to those hotels by the beach. read more

Location is OK, not on the beach but close. The complimentary cart shuttle to and/or from the beach is a nice touch. The hotel was clean, rooms a bit small, tv was very average for a Fairfield property, Bed was really nice and comfy. The breakfast attendant was bright, cheerful and friendly. However, the food was not so good. You know, One doesn't expect the very best to be served at a complimentary hotel "hot" breakfast, but the food selection and preparation were below par. The institutional eggs were just that institutional, the sausage patties had been microwaved into a tough tasteless hockey puck texture. This is a $79.00 a night stay, since it's a beach across the street, I would extent the price to $99.00 a night!!! Not connected to the beach. Guess services average. Many updates and renovations needed. Old and outdated furniture. Limited parking. Thin and hard linens. Mattresses are almost on the floor & rock hard... No protein offered for breakfast... HORRIBLE one of the most disgusting places I've ever stayed in. Sorry it is the most disgusting place I have said in. We got to the hotel and there was hair everywhere in the bathroom even in the tub and on the toilet seat. So we know they didn't clean good when they should have been with Corona virus!!!! I even wiped the counter after needing a room change even the counters were full of shaved hair from the toile I used. Also after having to move room I get into the new room and there is grass and food crumbs on the couches. DO NOT STAY HERE. AWFUL AWFUL read more

We only stayed here for one night. Along with (apparently) most of the guests, we were in town for a beer festival. The highly attentive and professional lady working at the front desk was more than happy to check us in early and recommend a great taxi service that carted us all over the area while we struggled mightily with sobriety. I didn't deviate much outside of the path from the front door to our room, but I will say that the place was spotless, located in close proximity to numerous shopping centers, and was pleasantly quiet all through the night. Be warned though the suites don't have doors- we thought we'd have different rooms like a Homewood suites but not the case/ it worked out fine though. Breakfast in the morning was normal free hotel breakfast- nothing too special and perfect for kids Staff was AAAAAAMAZING!! Most everyone took time to chat and the General Manager does a good job to set a great example for everyone- she talked with us for awhile We also loved their unlimited towels!! Life savers!! Complaints- we stayed above the pool and that was a little loud at night- we have a baby who goes to bed early Breakfast would be better if it varied day to day more I would go back here in a heartbeat!!! read more

We enjoyed our stay here. The value for the price is good. It's right across the street from the beach, with a shuttle and their private Boardwalk. In addition, the back of the hotel faces a network of water reservoirs, and some of the rooms (such as ours) have balconies that overlook the water. The pool and hot tub also extend our over the water. It's beautiful! The pool is heated in the winter, big plus. The room was comfortable. The lobby is beautiful. The breakfast was standard- egg and sausage patties, grits with cheese and butter available, various breads and patties, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea. The lady at the front desk when we checked in wasn't very friendly, but everyone else was super friendly, and when we checked out the same lady was there and she was much more friendly. Overall, we thought it was a great value and would stay here again, especially in a non-warm season! read more

I absolutely LOVE this hotel for so many reasons. We stayed there August 22, 2019. The staff was curteous, professional, friendly and always smiling. Made small talk, asked why you were in town and if they could assist you in any way(re: transportation, recommendations). And they followed up on converstions. A++ right there. The room was very clean and larger than most with a single bed. Came w/a fridge, coffee maker and microwave (not your standard fridge and coffee maker) as well as hair dryer and ironing essentials. The bed was extremely comfortable too. Room = A++. The free breakfast was great, very inviting and fresh and the coffee was so good. Overall I give this hotel an A++. Nothing was wrong. Would strongly advise anyone to stay here. read more

Really great if you like an excellent beach. Upon arrival everything was smooth and beautiful. Our room was nicely cleaned and ready to receive it's new guest. The shocker hit me when we looked out the balcony door to see the jacuzzi was out of service. The pool had a light missing and laying on the side of the pool which seemed unsafe. The next morning we went down for breakfast around 9:15am. Laine, breakfast attendant told us the only thing she had left was eggs and ham. My guest cannot eat pork and does not eat eggs. I asked if she had anymore french toast sticks. She said she did not have any. So we went upstairs to grab our purses to go and purchase breakfast. As we were exiting the elevator, the couple who came down after us had a plate full of items we were told she did not have. As we walked toward the exit we then saw Laine holding 2 sets of plates full of food. I asked her if she made more. She told me the food she was holding was old and that she could "throw" something in the microwave for myself and my guest. I declined and said have a good day. I should have taken pictures of all the food she was holding; your mouth would have dropped like mine did. Disappointed I'll try another Marriott property next visit. read more
