Great stay with family for the 4th of July Weekend. As always, our accommodations were exceptional: Sub Zero fridge/freezer, stove with a built in grill, microwave and oven built into the wall, wet bar, and a wrap around balcony that offered a balcony view for all four bedrooms, plus a wealth of outdoor furniture. We appreciated the quiet hours (for the grandbabies), and the staff was more than accommodating. We had to get assistance from an outdoor maintenance worker when we arrived because the garage map was confusing. He showed us where our spot was with no problem. We will be back to Gulf Shores and look forward to staying at either Caribe or Turquoise, their Sister Resort. Until next time! read more

I 100% recommend this resort. Me and my family went for 5 days and it is super great! I love all of the pools and how kid friendly the place is. Although it is under a lot of construction for being June Also, some of the things are very outdated for it being June of 26'. The map of the place is very confusing. Great condo resort/complex. We stayed in the C building on the 7th floor. The 3 bedroom condo itself was beautiful and very spacious! The condo was well equipped, just needed to bring our clothes, beach towels, toiletries, cleaning necessities for laundry and kitchen, and food. The twin beds in the kids room were comfortable enough, as was the queen in the second bedroom. The master bedroom was beautiful and spacious, but the bed was unbearable. The king bed was hard as a rock. We actually decided to pack up and go home early due to the bed. My husband and I were in pain most of the trip due to the hardness/stiffness of the bed. When I say hard as a rock, I mean this bed did not move. It was like sitting on a wall. I would love to stay in the unit again if the master bedroom was a different bed. I love a firm bed with some softness on top. This could have used a mattress topper and we went to buy one, but the topper we found was $120 and we didn't feel like that was a purchase we should have made. This review is primarily targeted at the resturant and not the condos. My wife and I got there around 8:30pm on a Friday night and was seated fairly quickly. The food was excellent. We started with a cowboy caviar plate with chips that we looooved. My wife had a tuna diner and I had a swordfish. I almost wanted to lick my plate and so did my wife. Our server was outstanding! The resturant is the best thing about this resort that is clearly tailored to families. We found our condo to be clean and quiet but way to large just for two people. Nice balcony views and our unit was very comfortable and even had a temperpedic mattress to sleep on in the master bed room with a cool view and patio. Great place for families. read more

#1 issue, The Resort is NOT handicap friendly at all. I chatted with them before I booked the room, I was told all the pools were accessible (they aren't) I was then told all the indoor pools have wheelchair lifts (they don't) Then I was told only building B's indoor pool had a lift. We go to building B, it has a lift! We attempt to use the lift and it was broken. We spoke with a short girl in maintenance in building B, she said she would take care of it.  The next day we attempt to go again to building b pool, but the lift is still broken. We spoke with Brandon, who called several people. We waited 45 minutes, no one came out to fix it. Brandon came back to apologize that no one showed up to help. Ridiculous that I booked a trip to a resort that I could not access any of the pools. They offered ZERO alternatives for me. Second issue was the place was not clean or kept up. The wheelchair elevators were rusted and filthy. Several elevators were broken and remained in disrepair all week. The lazy river had cigarette butts, beer cans strewn everywhere, trash all over the place. it was gross. The kids pool had cigarette butts in it as well. Many tiles in the pool were broken and missing. It was a hazard and should have been repaired long ago. Finally, when I mentioned an issue they were rude and short with me. They offered no solutions and zero accommodations for me. Bottom line, they clearly did not care. I would not recommend this resort at all. read more

I rented unit 213 in building B on March 20-23, 2022. I wanted a unit overlooking water, but received a unit in front of the parking lot. The noise was an issue, but I overlooked these two minor inconveniences because I have stayed at Caribe before in the past. I booked to have a quiet place to write. The construction in this building was always a noise factor! I had to wear earplugs to drown out the noise. I booked with hotel.com and it did not list the view of the unit, and I take responsibility for that. The furniture in the master bed room was quite old and worn. The balcony furniture needed to be replaced years ago. What was grossly not acceptable was the roaches in this unit. The first one, I overlooked, but waking up to five or seven roaches in the kitchen every morning was gross! Then having to kill bugs in the master bedroom and bathroom was truly the last straw for me! If the prices of this resort are set at 5 star prices then bugs are not acceptable in any shape form or fashion. The furniture and up keep of this unit was not worth the price per night. The refrigerator was set way too high and froze all my food to the point of it not being usable after one day. This trip was quite disappointing to say the least. I will think twice before choosing Caribe this summer. Truly disappointed to travel from Saudi Arabia and have to travel 26 hours to be disappointed in my stay in my hometown of the Gulf Coast. Please, have an exterminator come in and service this unit, this is so unacceptable. Maintaining decent furniture is also a must. This unit should be closed until maintenance is improved. This was not worth the price charged. I am truly disappointed in Caribe. If I had read the reviews on yelp, as I see many people have complained about bugs and the quality of the rooms, things have truly changed here and I will not return. pictures below. Currently at Caribe resort, to say this property is in extreme disrepair is an understatement. The cost does not properly reflect this property, I was expecting a 5 star resort based on the website and the cost, I'm extremely disappointed to say the least. We walked into our unit D209 and found the sofa bed half way sticking out and unable to be pushed all the way down, the cushions are stacked on the chair in the living room, so we have one couch for 6 people, unit was DIRTY!! We wiped all surfaces and they were filthy. Walls and elevators are in need of major TLC, public areas are dirty and not well maintained, carpet is disgustingly dirty, cob webs hanging in the entryway. I watched security call about a torn piece of carpet early in the morning stating it was a trip hazard, later in the day I watched several people trip on it, I called and reported it and still not fixed. Okay, back to the broken couch, I called as soon as we arrived and saw it, the girl on the phone said there was nothing she could do since she couldn't just bring up a new couch and a new couch was the condo owners responsibility, I told her that I booked with Caribe not the condo owner, I asked for a manager but they had left for the day, second day I call and the gal says "oh, maintenance hasn't contacted you?" I told her no they had not and she said she would check, it's now evening and still no resolution, today is day two of a broken couch. The living room ceiling fan will not come on, one of the bedrooms is missing a lightbulb in the ceiling fan. Master bedroom has mold on the curtains, staff seems to be mostly absent. If issue is not fixed at the end of tonight I'll have to walk over to the B building in the morning and see if a face to face will help the situation, front desk staff doesn't seem to be experienced. If a great property manager/ management company doesn't step in this place will be a COMPLETE dump in a few years. Will NEVER stay here again!! Rusty and crusty!!! read more

If you stay here, just know that your condo will be cleaned by contractors with no required background check or drug screen. Rude staff, and crappy condos from 2000. Would give 0 stars if possible. Rooms smell like vinegar, and mildew. This place is NOT worth the money, or even on the beach! Book your stay with caution. Try the Turquoise Resort instead. The unit (C804) we stayed in was very clean, spacious and had an amazing view! The owner was also very great to work with!! The grounds are in need of major updates and a deep cleaning!! Not all amenities are open either. If this place would simply clean up, add a fresh coat of paint everywhere, add some chlorine to the pools and open up all amenities, I would give it one more star. The fifth star is probably not achievable because it has to do with how crowded the pools were. read more

Absolutely beautiful resort! Upon arrival you come to a security gate. They are sticklers, they check your parking pass daily and make sure the correct dates are on your pass. So this makes the line long to get into the resort at times. The rooms are spacious, updated, homey. At our house the boys aren't allowed to have TVs in their room, so that was their favorite part. I loved the jacuzzi tub in the master. The only drawback to our room is that they ripped up the carpet in the master closet. The carpet tacks were still in the floor. They put a rug over the threshold, but when you walked in the tacks were in the perimeter of the room. It was very dangerous and made the space unusable. We were not warned of this situation ahead of time. I really wish they gave you a map to the property when you arrived. It is really quite immense. For example my husband was looking for the fitness room. We knew it was in our building. We saw people in workout clothes in the elevator, we made small talk with them, and they told us it's in our building. When my hubby went looking for it, it's called the spa?? The room with all the exercise equipment is called the spa, what?? We were in Gulf Shores for a baseball tournament, so we didn't have hours on end to explore the grounds. Finding the lazy river is also a little tricky. You have to go in the building past the indoor pool to an elevator that leads you to the lazy river and three pools on top of the parking garage. On our 5th night the emergency alarm went off at 9pm and 2am to evacuate the building. The first time was for a waiter main break that busted in the parking garage. The second time I have no idea why it went off. Again, we were there for a baseball tournament. My son didn't get a lot of sleep that night. My husband went out to the hall to see if we really needed to leave the building and the other guest in the hall told my hubby that this happens every year. They have been going to the resort for 12 years. So, would I go back? Probably not, it's not even on the beach. We had no beach access. It's pretty, but just too many problems. read more

Very spacious had 11 people in our condo but plenty of space to find a quiet area if you need to. The balcony was perfect with complete views of the beach and some of the ocean the sunsets are like pieces of heaven! Everyone you meet in the hallways are so kind I felt like I never met a stranger with all the southern hospitality. Its definitely a home away from home. Facility was really nice but security was rude and marine police are awful. Don't recommend bringing a boat because they have a marina but no boat launch. Make sure to bring washing powder because they only supply you with enough towel for the number it sleep. They will not be giving you any fresh clean linen during your stay. read more

Family reunion and all stayed in Bldg C. From the start, Front staff was rude and not accommodating to Instacart delivery because we booked thru group sales. Maudie Mae had to step in. C1007 (4BR) was dirty, beat up & tired. Not enough seating, needed a rug & HVAC & Ice maker is on last leg. Linens did not fit on any beds, outlet in front BA did not work, only 2 pillows/bed & extras did not have pillow cases/protecters and were stained. The bedding in general was pitiful. Lamp shades in BR were torn/hanging and lamp shade in main room is hanging on the halo. Only 1 bath had a TP holder that wasn't broken. There were way too many TV remotes and zero instruction with TVs. About 5 more remotes were found under the cabinet to add to confusion. There were blowers/dehumidifying fans all over the property and were dirty. Besides the fire alarm evac and water outage in the bldg, the property is great for families but everything needs a boost and upgrade, including the front staff. Maudie Mae Morris was the brightest spot and most helpful from beginning to end. read more

The resort is beautiful and has many amenities but it has its downfalls. The decks are amazing with plenty of room instead of the little sliver decks you get at some places. There are plenty of pools (which are salt water pools so no chlorine smell and you also don't get that gritty salt feel like with ocean sea water) so that no one pool is ever too crowded and the lazy river is nice to. You can even take you drink to the pools as long as its not in glass. There are indoor pools in case it rains and many other amenities I never got around to using like the saunas. However the beach is pretty far away and the shuttle service drops you off near this pier like bridge that you walk to get to the actual beach. It's a long walk and that part of the beach is pretty rough. It's better to take your car to one of the public beach accesses and go to the beach that way. It may be a bit pricey but the condos (ours at least D1213) were really nice. With a full kitchen with nice finishes and appliances. Three bedrooms (all king size beds on ours) each with its own bath (and the master suite is amazing). Ultimately I think it comes down to what's more important to you for your trip. Do you want quick easy access to the beach but maybe share a single pool with everyone else at your hotel? Or do you prefer more to do on site at the resort and willing to sacrifice that quick and easy beach access? If the beach is what your here for and packing the car up or walking far to go doesn't sound good then I'd say stay at one of the hotel/resorts further down the strip that's actually on the beach (this one isn't on the beach). But if the amenities make up for the crappy beach access on your priority list than this place will be great. All depends on what you prefer though. read more

Well, was staying at a $4,000 a week condo had two 16-year-old kids mess with a water hose in the lobby and we got a knock on the door letting us know that all 13 people in this condo had one hour to leave, well first of all there's no way we can leave in 1 hour, second of all we offered to pay for the damage and inconvenience and they refused to accept the $500 and then they come knocking on our door the very next day telling us that they wanted the $500 after turning it down the night before after I went to jail for 1000 dollars. Bottom line is they kicked out 2 16 year old kids out on the street 6 hours away from home. Then rounded back to ask for the 500. Over water, no damages. read more

One of the nicest, brightest, cleaning resorts we have stayed at. Newly remodeled rooms. Beautiful interior and exterior. Private indoor parking. Duo Glass elevators that zip between floors. This resort is on the beach but it's a 10 minute walk. However they have trolleys that run whenever you want them from 8a-8pm. Just give em a call and they pick you up in 2 minutes. Beautiful white sandy beaches. 9 pools (6 outdoor, 3 indoors) 8 water slides. Steam rooms, spas, snack bar, restaurant, boat rental, jet ski rental, and cruises are all available. Bbq grills, playgrounds and much more!! We will definitely be back!! read more

I stayed in building B on the 7th floor, and I have a lot to say. When I first walked in, I was hit with a smell of mildew, followed by the sound of 4 industrial fans blowing in each corner of the lobby. That immediately made me worried because I had my 89 year old grandmother with me, and my first worry was mold. Throughout the building, going to my room, the smell never dissipated, it only got worse. It is NOT handicapped friendly, and we had to help my grandmother throughout our entire stay just navigating up and down. The elevators rarely worked either so that made things even more difficult. When we got to the room, the mildew smell was still there, but it was combined with a strong strong smell of vinegar. I had fear of black mold and sure enough, behind the toilet, there was a big patch of mold. My grandmother ended up going home the second night because she started feeling very sick, and so did we after our final night. When I talked to the employees, it was if they didn't really know what to say to me other than "I'm sorry to hear that ma'am." The person at the front desk was not friendly and treated me like a burden when I told them about the black mold. They clearly know about it but just don't care!! I'm worried for my grandmothers health now as she is just now recovering from the sickness we all gained. I do NOT want a refund, I just want to warn everybody to STAY CLEAR of this place!!! We could not say enough good things about our stay at Caribe. We stayed in C204 with 11 people and had plenty of room. The condo was spacious and clean. The resort amenities including the pool complexes were awesome. We had an amazing vacation and Caribe resort was perfect for us. Each bedroom had an attached bathroom and the master bath and bedroom were great, the balcony was absolutely huge and a great place to hang out and the living area and kitchen were spacious. We spent two days enjoying the various pool complexes and cabana bar - our kids loved the pools and lazy river. Parking was also very easy. Highly recommend Caribe! read more

Terrible experience. We booked two condos for our family beside each other. Upon arrival we were told one room had a maintenance issue so they need to move half of our group. Not a great start. They put us on different floors at different ends. Told us that we would have to move our last night! Pack up our stuff with 6 small children the last night! Well ok and behold the SECOND to last day they called our room at 8:45am and said we had to be out in an hour. Half of our group was already headed to the beach. They offered no assistance. We couldn't get carts to move our stuff. They were condescending and unapologetic. We have several front line workers who needed a relaxing family vacation. This was not it. No lifeguards at pools means unattended tween children will be terrorizing all young children on the slides. At night they ride the elevators nonstop so it's impossible to get one in under 10 minutes. Then they are soaked from kids going on and off soaking wet from the pools. We consider ourselves a very reasonable family that doesn't complain about things that can't be helped but this experience was terrible. Will NEVER return! Stay somewhere else. read more

We LOVE the Caribe!! We have been here many times, and we keep coming back year after year. The grounds are immaculate, and the amenities are plentiful. We love how the resort is situated between the ocean and the bay. Its quiet and peaceful but has the added interest of the bay activity. The sunsets are always amazing, and sometimes you can hear live music coming from the amazing Cobalt restaurant. We highly recommend this resort! My family and I stayed here on our family vacation and it was great! We had a blast! The hotel is gorgeous. Just gorgeous. It's a trio of buildings with tons of pools, water slides, a lazy river and waterfalls everywhere, tiling on the walls. One of us compared it to the "Finding Nemo" themed rooms at Disney. Our room was beautifully decorated too. It easily slept all six of us, and had TONS of room. Very spacious with a state of the art kitchen, ice freezer, wine cooler, over and microwave duo, and tons of appliances. The blender didn't work which was sad, but we contacted customer service and they cheerfully got us a new one. A negative was the costumer service. Our understanding was that our room came with Netflix, but we couldn't find it. So we called the front desk and couldn't get them. We called again, still no answer. Finally we walked to the first building (we were in the second one) and asked where we checked in. The front desk girls there were incredibly uninformed and airheaded. Their explanation went something like: "Netflix? Do we even have Netflix here...? I don't even have a TV, I don't know anything about Netflix..." Needless to say they were no help. Finally we got ahold of the customer service only to learn they are in a separate hotel like five miles down the strip. However they explained to us it's not Netflix, but a Redbox-style service where you "rent" DVD's with a complementary card, then return it. However you have to return one before you can rent another one. Another negative is the bugs. They're everywhere. There were roaches all over our patio (although none in the room). However I know bugs is a struggle at the Gulf in general so I can't complain a lot, since they're not in the room. Cobalt, the restaurant on the premises, is fairly expensive for the things there. We didn't end up eating there, but the cheapest things they had were burgers and pasta (and soup) but we can eat that at home. The beach was great. The water was chrystal clear, the sand was sugar white, it was great. The negative is you have to drive there, whether by trolly (which we also couldn't get ahold of) or in your own vehicle. We stayed here over the 4-day Memorial Holiday weekend. It happened to be a time that we all needed to relax and found this to be a much better alternative to a hotel. Three of us chose the 3 bdrm/3bath condo (1king, 2 queen) which was very spacious and gave us each plenty of privacy when we needed it, while also providing a great kitchen, living area, and large balcony area for gathering together. Nice decor but if your room is up front by the door you'll hear everything in the hallway. The place comes with cookware, dishes, bar & wine fridge, and washer/dryer. There is a sample basket of one-use laundry detergent, dishwasher packs, coffee and such, one roll of paper towels and one roll of TP per bathroom so a trip to the store is definite must if you plan on staying there a few days or the group wants to use the bathroom more than once! These condos are for sale also, so there are a list of rules upon entering. You'll notice the people who aren't guests as their pets will have a special Caribe green leash or they really just seem so much more at home then you are, docking their boats right outside and all lol. Don't walk from the resort to the beach. It's quite trek and you'll be over it before you get there. Just drive down to where it's closer like by Cotton's. They also have fitness rooms, indoor pools, wet and dry sauna, and deli. read more

This should be just o.k. We stayed at Caribe C509 this past week and the master bedroom would not cool off even when the rest of the Condo was cold enough to hang meat. No matter what we tried the air was uncomfortable the entire visit. Also, both beds were as hard as the Flintstones's rock mattress. I was unable to rest the entire time due to the hardness of the mattresses. One last minor thing, the Jacuzzi tub for the second bedroom jets did not work read more

Do not stay here! Positives: condo was nice and large; walking distance to a great restaurant; views Negatives: pools were vet dirty! Trash and band aides all over pool deck. Pool Water was foggy. No life guards. Kids were getting hurt constantly on slides. Blood in the pool. Never saw any hotel staff near or around the pool ever. The dryer broke. Maintenance staff was so nice. Offered to dry out clothes in linen room but we were not able to touch base with him again. The next day the manager told us to walk back and fourth between 2 towers and use another units dryer ( even though ours was fixed now )instead of just using the one we were in because she wanted to clean the unit. She made us keep returning the keys and getting new ones between the towers. It took 4 trips and the dryer she met us use was also being cleaned by the cleaning staff. She gave us plastic trash bags to carry our clothes. It was the most ridiculous situation I've ever encountered. For the price of this place, I expect way more! I called the manager several times to complain. She refused to call me back. read more

I tried, I really did, but for $500+ a night, I really expect: 1. A working refrigerator in our unit, and that the "backup" refrigerator not be in the dining room, and so small and with broken shelving that it can't hold much (for a 3 bedroom condo that's supposed to sleep 8!); 2. One large pot in the kitchen to cook for the number of people the condo holds. Apparently that's not possible; 3. More than 3 coffee cups. Really?; 4. Clean pools that aren't so cloudy that I can't see my feet in 3 feet of water!!! Oh and no bandaids in the water, nor maxi pads. I am not kidding. 5. To see security anywhere, or a staff member. No one, in 5 days. The total lack of security is disturbing. 6. A dining room table with no ugly stains on the cushions and a table leg that isn't totally broken rendering it unusable. 7. Amenities that are useable. Why is putt putt looking like a barren wasteland? There's more, but I don't think you want to know. The only reasons for 2 stars are my child loved the place, the things we were able to do, etc. read more

I stayed here for 3 nights with my children, parents, niece and nephew. It was a great experience. The room was clean, spacious and had sufficient toiletry supplies to get you started. The pool areas were well kept and I noticed security doing the rounds. There are no lifeguards but I did hear security telling children to stop dangerous activities. The kids all loved the slides and the indoor hot tubs. I loved the wet and dry saunas. The hotel is designed in such a way that all rooms have a great view. You can walk or get a shuttle to the beach. I drove because its only 2 minutes and far more convenient with babies. There is pretty much something for everyone from swimming, beaching, put put golf to tennis, saunas and lazy rivers. If the price is right I'll be back. read more

2 Star due to the location. Housekeeping staff is extremely rude. I got into the elevator and a member of the housekeeping staff was leaning over the buttons to control what floor you went to. She didn't ask me what floor I was going to and I all but had to stick my finger in her face in order to push floor 8. During the day they polished the glass arm rails all day. They were knocking on our door at 9 AM when the checkout time wasn't till 11. The resort only gives you one trash bag which is absolutely ridiculous....... almost as ridiculous as giving you one parking place for a four bedroom condo. our friend had to park in the lawn out front due to insufficient parking. Really one parking place for a four bedroom condo? $500 a day too!Caribe is centrally located but extremely overpriced for what you get and how you're treated by the housekeeping staff. read more

Booked our after Christmas vacation here. One of the main reasons we chose Caribe was due to the indoor pool and little water slide. Our little girl loves it! Much to our surprise, the slide has been closed since we arrived and the pool has been getting "routine maintenance " and has looked like a construction zone. A section of the pool and deck is closed and roped off with tape. They are painting and the smell from the chemicals is so strong it is unusable and unsafe. The area isn't ventilated and the paint mixed with the chlorine is particularly concerning. Speaking of safety...yesterday they even had a fan running... connected by 2 extension cords.. ON THE POOL deck!!! The fan was sitting in water. This is SO dangerous!!!! Someone could have been electrocuted! I wasn't notified prior to our stay that the pool in our building would be unusable and hazardous. I should have been given the option to rebook in a different building with a useable pool. Now, our only option is to go to another building to use the pool. The buildings are not connected and it's extremely cold outside. This is such an inconvenience. This is supposed a vacation. At a "resort". I shouldn't be inconvenienced like this. This work should be done at night so guests can use the pool. The front desk informed me that's not possible...it can only be done between 8am-5pm. How much sense does that make?!? That is not taking the guests... their safety.. and the money they spent to come here into consideration. I'm very disappointed!! Had I have known this, we would not have stayed here. We were quite disappointed with this resort. It was built in the early 2000s and it appears that it has not been updated since. The paint and decor is extremely ugly. The signage is not up-to-date and it is difficult to navigate the resort. The indoor pool area smells of urine and mildew. Because the elevator is broken, you have to walk through the indoor pool area. The bricks in the indoor pool area are buckling and warped and therefore there are puddles of water everywhere, so your shoes get wet walking through. The lazy river "foliage" seems to be a dumping ground for trash. The metal edging on the lazy river is warped and is a hazard for cutting feet or tripping. The putting green, which is very visible from about half of the resort balconies, is defunct and quite an eyesore, not what you want to see when step onto your balcony. Additionally, when we arrived, two sets of key cards did not work and would not open our unit door. (The rental company assured us that the issue was with the resort.) I would really like to say something nice about this "resort" but it was very depressing. We spent a lot of money on this vacation, and had not been able to travel during the pandemic, so it was very upsetting. read more

Seems the owner is the only one deciding where, when and how homeowner's dues are spent. Place is falling apart and dirty and no one is doing anything about it. Family has been full time residents there for 2 years asking over and over for cleaning and repairs of community areas with no avail. read more
