Gulf Front King Room Balcony view, sunny.
    Ashley A.

Great family hotel. Solid daily breakfast with real eggs. Friendly and helpful staff (Kesha at the front desk, Harry in housekeeping, and the daytime bartender by the pool made our stay extra special). Our Gulf Front King Room had great views and sounds of the beach, couldn't be any closer unless you were on a boat. Convenient beach and umbrella chair rental located directly in front of the resort ($40 per day for 2 chairs plus umbrella). We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it a day. The minuses: -The rooms, at least the one we stayed in did NOT have a bathtub nor did it have a shower hose. This is a serious issue for when washing a toddler. -The cost was a little high $408 per night (likely Spring Break was the culprit. -Pool is a little odd. Has concrete supports going through it. I saw a kid playing Marko-Polo almost knock himself out on one, scary.

Due to a change in plans, we arrived in Orange Beach a day before our Airbnb rental was available. So I needed a one night stay. We selected the Tides, and I'm so glad we did! The hotel has kind of a unique layout - when you enter from the parking lot, you have to take the elevator upstairs to the main lobby. The check-in was efficient, quick and friendly, and our hotel room overlooked the water so the view was amazing. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, we so enjoyed all the variations, including the made to order crêpes! We were able to get beach towels from the front desk and went out to the beach where we rented chairs and an umbrella for the day. The beach is beautiful, and very clean. The hotel gives you a wristband to wear, so we were able to come back onto the pool deck and use the restrooms throughout the day. We also ordered lunch from the pool deck. The menu consists entirely of just pizza, but that was fine (it was so delicious!) and hit the spot. Then, in the late afternoon when our Airbnb rental was available, we just returned our beach towels, and hit the road. Everyone there was very friendly and accommodating, and I would highly recommend!

I must say I am somewhat of a hotel snob. lol But we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was small but CLEAN. How did I know ? Because I brought my own cleaning supplies and there wasn't much they left untouched!! Awesome job staff!!! Please pay them well. Driving into the attached parking deck was a treat because we were able to see the beach from the garage. You will be charged nightly for parking. I didn't mind because parking was soooo convenient! We were only suppose to be here one night but decided to extend our stay 2 more nights. We are here now and it's really hard to leave. I traveled here with my 6 year old daughter. She loved the pool area more than anything. I loved that I was able to either join her or sit really close by and relax under the shade. They serve pizza every day until 8pm without many other options. They have a few things like turkey wraps, Caesar salads, croissant chicken salad sandwiches, cookies, cinnamon rolls that they keep in the lobby's very very small gift shop. (More like a corner) There are several restaurants close by as well as a Publix. Buffet breakfast is available or you have the option to order a breakfast sandwich or omelettes. Our Server Shontal was the absolute sweetest !!!! If you are looking for a place to relax this is definitely where you would want to be. We will definitely be back soon!!!

Clean and very friendly staff! Parking was super easy and convenient . Pool was clean. We had a great stay! Breakfast is not free anymore but lots of options around.

Absolutely amazing hotel, and a great price with an amazing location. Prior to arrival I'd called and spoken to Lindsay with a few questions and she was very courteous and helpful. Yes, there is beach service (independent) at the hotel for chairs/umbrellas. It's a unique property as the first three levels are parking garage, Lobby and breakfast dining are on the fourth floor, and guest rooms are fifth through seven. Easily pull into the garage and park in a check-in spot and take the elevator up to 4. We arrived late at night & Courtney took great care and checked us in quickly. You'll receive a parking pass, room keys, and wrist bands for each guest. The view from the gulf front rooms is great, and I'm certain the corner view will continue to be decent. There is another property being built between the Tides and the Cotton public parking area so the western facing room views may suffer but this place is great. Rooms are perfect sized, clean, and modern. This was our first trip to Orange Beach but will not be our last.

It's a great hotel. Very accommodating and exactly what you'd expect for the price paid. We loved it. It's well ran & most guest also were responsible & respectful of others. Pizza & drinks great.

I just checked in today and everything was good on the check in, location of the hotel, cleanliness, friendly hotel staff. The only thing was the water pressure in my shower was super super low. Horrible. I attempted to call the front desk but nobody answered. I will try to make contact with the front desk again tomorrow and I am super tired from my drive today. I will update this review through the week. A few key details to point out during the virus is they no longer offer room cleaning service. You basically let them know what you need as far as towels, linens, and etc by hanging a check list outside the door. You also take out your own trash where they provide huge trash cans in the hall way for you to throw out. I notified the front desk of the super low water pressure In my shower. It's been about 12 hours and still the same crappy water pressure. It's so weak that I was unable to wash the sand off of my legs from the beach. It's super pathetic. The one bright thing about this place is the free complimentary breakfast in the beautiful lobby dining area overlooking the ocean. I enjoyed the eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and biscuits with gravy. It's not a buffet style anymore due to the outbreak but an employee prepares a plate for you. Well after 3 days of constantly reminding them about my super low water pressure. It was finally fixed. One bad thing is I had a super small microwave. It barely fit my ramen noodles I brought. I really do miss room service as our room/bathroom got a-little dirty. It definitely makes the jobs way easier for the employees at the hotels since they no longer have to clean hotel rooms daily. Must be nice! Lol As far as the price I paid for the quality, it wasn't bad. I also wished they could of changed up the breakfast a tad bit. It got very tiring on eating the same sausage, biscuit, egg, potatoes, and bacon for 4 mornings in a row!! Actually one morning, they didn't even have bacon or gravy. Lol I was praying each morning on something different like ham, chicken, or etc. If I am able to score the same nightly rates as I was able to, I will definitely be coming back again.

Good hotel for the price and location. Visited the beach on a Sunday and decided to stay 1 night. Easy parking garage ($10 per day) but limited on each level). Beach access right off of pool area. They provide pool towels in the lobby and offer a small pool bar. Laydown chairs are limited so I was happy to get one. The view from the lobby (where breakfast is) is gorgeous! If they had music or more people in the lobby/bar area, we would've joined in on the fun but it was empty. Rooms are cute and come with a balcony which was very nice to relax on. They offer gourmet pizza at this hotel but I wasn't lucky enough to try it. Next time!

If you were get a chance to atay at a Premier Best Western...they are wonderful. This one I've stayed at a few times and it is first class. Breakfast bar is one of the best. Rooms and staff are excellent. You may pay a little more but it is worth it. Beautiful beach and beach bar make a relaxing day. Mariana at the bar mixes a great drink.

The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

The main complaints were that it involved too much walking (from the parking lot, to the room, etc). Unless you are significantly disabled and if so, I have no idea how you get around in the world, it's really not much walking at all. If you think this is too much walking, never live in NYC you will not survive. If the issue is walking from the parking lot, do valet and you don't have to walk from the parking lot. If the issue is walking from the main building, you have to walk MAYBE 1/3-1/2 of a football field to the building where the rooms are. It's such a nothingburger it's like a joke. If anyone thinks that is a lot of walking, they probably need to call Dr. Now. Another issue I saw in a review is that it is hard to find. It isn't. Like, at all. There is a sign and you can see it from the road. I hope that person is ok they might need to get their eyes checked. Now that I'm done talking shit, let's talk about the good things. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The views are stunning and from everywhere. From the main check in lodge, from the pool, from the beach front view rooms, from the restaurants. We had a balcony and it was just water/beach/gulf views. It was legit comparable to resorts we stayed in in Cancun and Seminyak, Bali. The water wasn't quite as "blue/turquoise" but not much The Lodge can do about that. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is lovely. The shower was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and soft. The AC worked very well. There were a bunch of outlets on my side but less on the other side (however there were outlets on both sides). The restaurants had, as I said above, excellent views. They also has wonderful staff and very tasty food. They could have done better with the vegetarian options. The bread was probably the best part and was some of the best bread and whipped butter I have ever had. They do that shit where they text you and ask if you need anything, which is very helpful especially for us millennials. GF asked me to request an extra blanket, which I did. The response time was great, it was super fast. They told me they would send one up but never did, which was a bummer. Another piece of feedback, shortly after 8:30am, we had a knock at the door. GF was in the bathroom and I was getting dressed. They knocked again. I, half dressed, opened the door. It was housekeeping asking if we were checking out. Uh....yeah, we are.. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. What if we wanted to sleep in? What if I was out and GF was on the toilet? What if someone was getting out of the shower? It just feels like an invasion of privacy. It just seems wild that housekeeping felt like bothering us to find out if we were checking out. I would definitely stay here again if I returned but I would put the "do not disturb" sign up

The only complaint is that the maintenance guys (internet guys?) unexpectedly came in two times (once on Thursday & once on Friday) to work on our room WiFi. We had been having trouble with it, but had not filed a repair request. Apparently, they were changing the boxes out in every room so every time our WiFi dropped it was because we were unknowingly connected to surrounding rooms' WiFi since ours didn't work and as they were taken offline, we saw it as it happened. It's good that they were changing out the boxes but we didn't understand why the front desk didn't give us a heads up. After all, they had texted me twice, once with the welcome text and again with a follow up text. A simple FYI would've been appreciated. Other than that non-communication, everything else was great. You can find restaurants, shops, and entertainment at The Wharf. The dolphin and fishing tours go out of the marina right next door. You are about 15 minutes from the beach. Rooms & Building - Rooms are suites so there is plenty of room to spread out. We liked the big bathrooms and living space and had a balcony that overlooked the river and pool area. The building is well manicured with palm trees and flowers and modern looking. Amenities - The pool was very nice and big, lots of room for everyone. Plenty of chairs made it easy to find during the high times of sunlight. There is a hot tub onsite as well (always a plus in my book). Food - Their is a restaurant onsite that we did not try but the complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Every day there was a different kind of breakfast sandwich or specialty item. There was an oatmeal bar that my kids thought was fun. We enjoyed the breakfast, it was filling and high quality. Staff - Everyone we met was professional and friendly. Price & Final Verdict - Price was great for everything we experienced while staying here. I would stay here again.
