Facing the Gulf from 19th floor

Remember that this building houses condos. You rent your condo from individual owners. Some are better than others. The building itself is excellent. They did it right. Great views. Great pools (the best on Gulf Shores I would argue). Elevators are a bit slow but oh well. Parking lot is huge. I will stay here again when visiting Gulf Shores.

A good sunset view from the condo

The Crystal Towers property is a nice getaway to chill out during the offseason when it's not as crowded. There's a massive swimming pool on the other side of the property, a inside pool, a small outdoor pool and a sauna. The little arcade that they had years ago is no longer here, but honestly, you'll be better off going to a major video game arcade in the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach surrounding. Getting to the beach is a breeze since you're already inside. They have an indoor walkway that connect to the other side of the property and it's cool watching cars pass by above you from the safety of the walkway. Security have a way of knowing if you're a paying guests and if not, you'll be removed from the property. The condo we ended up staying in is Unit 1409 and from a distance, everything is nice, but getting up close, you'll start to noticed several issues around the condo. The place seriously needs a major paint job in all area of the condo and the curtains need changing since I spotted several stains on them. One of the bathroom doors doesn't lock which can be an issue if more people are staying here. What killed it for me was the triple bunk bed. While I agree to sleep on top, I had no way of knowing that it'll be loose until after I got in it. It seems like the screws aren't tight and I felt uncomfortable sleeping in it since it keeps moving every time I turn my body in a certain position. Luckily, the sofa felt like I was sleeping on a cloud in heaven. Crystal Towers is a nice property, but for the one who own the unit 1409, needs to check up on it regularly.

We decided to stay at the crystal tower her in gulf shores and it's very nice it has a gym, 2 in door pools, a outdoor pool and a sauna our room is big enough for multiple people to stay in if your looking for a place to stay at when you come to gulf shores I recommend crystal tower were staying on the top floor and the view is amazing the only down side about the crystal tower is that the room did need just a little work down to. Even though I liked the bunk bed and I slept so good on the bottom part I would have been find just sleeping on a regular bed. The top part was very lose and I don't blame my friend for going to sleep on the couch i also feel like some of the pictures could have not been on the wall

The view from the unit is owsome! No opstical or any in front of me! Eat ocean view even eating at the dinning rm.

Love the amenities here: Two pools, two restaurants, nice coffee shop, Dragonfly (outdoor bar and grill), and good fitness center. 3. The Lodge has 3 sections for the guestrooms. Five floors each. Rooms are nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Even numbered rooms face the beach. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Beautiful lobby, numerous places to sit and relax, big parking lot by the convention center side of property, valet service available.

I am thrilled that I bit the bullet and booked our stay here while we were in Gulf Shores…read more A few reviews on TripAdvisor did cause me to question even though it seems like a great place. The main complaints were that it involved too much walking (from the parking lot, to the room, etc). Unless you are significantly disabled and if so, I have no idea how you get around in the world, it's really not much walking at all. If you think this is too much walking, never live in NYC you will not survive. If the issue is walking from the parking lot, do valet and you don't have to walk from the parking lot. If the issue is walking from the main building, you have to walk MAYBE 1/3-1/2 of a football field to the building where the rooms are. It's such a nothingburger it's like a joke. If anyone thinks that is a lot of walking, they probably need to call Dr. Now. Another issue I saw in a review is that it is hard to find. It isn't. Like, at all. There is a sign and you can see it from the road. I hope that person is ok they might need to get their eyes checked. Now that I'm done talking shit, let's talk about the good things. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The views are stunning and from everywhere. From the main check in lodge, from the pool, from the beach front view rooms, from the restaurants. We had a balcony and it was just water/beach/gulf views. It was legit comparable to resorts we stayed in in Cancun and Seminyak, Bali. The water wasn't quite as "blue/turquoise" but not much The Lodge can do about that. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is lovely. The shower was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and soft. The AC worked very well. There were a bunch of outlets on my side but less on the other side (however there were outlets on both sides). The restaurants had, as I said above, excellent views. They also has wonderful staff and very tasty food. They could have done better with the vegetarian options. The bread was probably the best part and was some of the best bread and whipped butter I have ever had. They do that shit where they text you and ask if you need anything, which is very helpful especially for us millennials. GF asked me to request an extra blanket, which I did. The response time was great, it was super fast. They told me they would send one up but never did, which was a bummer. Another piece of feedback, shortly after 8:30am, we had a knock at the door. GF was in the bathroom and I was getting dressed. They knocked again. I, half dressed, opened the door. It was housekeeping asking if we were checking out. Uh....yeah, we are.. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. What if we wanted to sleep in? What if I was out and GF was on the toilet? What if someone was getting out of the shower? It just feels like an invasion of privacy. It just seems wild that housekeeping felt like bothering us to find out if we were checking out. I would definitely stay here again if I returned but I would put the "do not disturb" sign up

The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

Live music every day by the pool was awesome! And talented performers! The beach itself is right behind the resort and has the softest sand. Wanted was rough but we were still able to get in a slash around and jump some waves. The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

Having a full kitchen with a real refrigerator is one of the benefits of staying in a Staybridge Suites. We liked the room (in comparison to the previous hotel room) since it had so many outlets to charge our computers and devices. There was also a nightlight in the bathroom, so we didn't need to brighten the whole room during our nightly visits. This bed was way more comfortable than the other hotel, and the room was truly dark. With no alarm set, we had no idea of the actual time that we woke. And we couldn't hear a thing from the other rooms. We are at the start of a week across the South. This hotel is certainly on our "come back" list! Friendly staff, clean room, nice bedroom, a full kitchen and a good price. Very hard to beat.

Most concerning was the presence of a live roach in our room--clearly visible and captured in a photo. While it stayed still long enough for the picture, the fact that it was moving around beforehand was unsettling. Service was mixed. Upon arrival, the staff was reasonably courteous, but checkout was impersonal--when I handed in the keys, the front desk agent didn't speak, only giving a slight head shake when I asked if anything else was needed. As an IHG Platinum member, I was surprised to learn that the latest checkout time allowed was 12 PM, rather than the usual 2 PM. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure was good with very hot water available. However, the pillows lacked support, the TV was small and didn't function properly, and the Wi-Fi was so slow it was nearly unusable. Breakfast was average; I was disappointed not to see the egg white omelets typically offered at other IHG locations. We also ran out of lotion during our stay, which has never happened to me at a hotel before. Overall, despite some redeeming qualities, I would not choose to stay at this property again.
