The weight machines are totally different but they have enough to focus on whatever area you wish to work on. Some of the equipment looked older than what the other facilities have but some also looked newer. The gym is usually less crowed than the other two gyms which means no waiting for equipment.

The place is well lit, well kept, and the staff friendly. Unlike many smaller independently owned facilities the machines I tried were all clean and in good working order. Rules are posted and followed, and the crowd is respectable. If I lived in the area I would be a permanent member, and will certainly visit again when I am back in town.

When I called in, the call center girl was nit friendly, did not demonstrate empathy or understanding for what I was explaining. I had started the conversation by asking for the director or a supervisor and the call rep refused. I called back and left a message for the executive director. I then got a call back from someone who was taking the messages for the executive director. The Y at The Heights was unwilling to help me, adding even more stress to my already overwhelming situation. I work full-time, I am a single parent to 3 children and a full-time caregiver to a parent with Alzheimers. Shame of you Y at the Heights. You are not a friend to the community or those who need understanding and compassion. I give this organization, that truly only cares about $$$, zero stars.

And while I don't take advantage of it, the facility is open 24/7. There's no pool access overnight, however. And best of all? The price is extremely affordable.
