But starting late cause the kids to be playing during the snow or freezing temperatures. They added a game for the week following the "close" of the season. They have no regard for parents schedules. Season should be starting Saturday sept 5th. It's been postponed to sept 13th. But some teams will have games Saturday the 5th. I have 2 kids and have no schedule for either kids team. How am I supposed to schedule life if they can't get me a schedule and not make last minute changes?!? If the refs are as bad this year as last it's going down. U4 games should last 30 mins max. One of our daughters last over an hour because the ref couldn't keep track of time! Hire people who know how to use a stopwatch or tell time. I left the sports director a voicemail and I've still not gotten a call back. They do not prioritize timeliness. Practice schedules went out the week before they started. It's no surprise the teams barely have 9 players each. Parents don't want the bullcrap.

BEWARE! Imagine you visit this Y from out of town. You put your things in an open locker to use…read morethe pool. Pool is closed so you use the steam room instead. After a steam you go to your locker to retrieve your things. The locker has malfunctioned won't open. you're in your swim trunks with no phone, no keys or wallet. The staff tells you there is no way to enter the malfunctioning locker. You're now STRANDED ! If you're lucky enough to have A friend nearby they can drive 45 min to give you clothes and a place to sleep. But what if you're not so lucky? You sleep on the floor of the Y I suppose. The maintenance person won't show up till the morning. When he does have to physically break into the malfunctioned locker, he'll insinuate it's your fault . DOES that sound like a RELAXING time at your local Y? Stay away. BEWARE!!

Updated Review:…read more We've been YMCA since 2016 and overall have been happy. They do a good job of keeping the place clean and updated as much as they can. I appreciated that they have tried to add more classes with only one room and the gym. They have made a cycling room, which I hear offers great classes. They also added a midday yoga class, which is great when the kids are in school. I would like more daytime classes then evenings because that is better for my schedule. Childwatch is usually not busy, which is great. I do not use it anymore so I'm not sure on anything specific for childcare these days. Youth sports are affordable and the directors do a good job of making sure the kids are having fun and playing fair. It's nice they have a pool, but the schedule is hard to understand of exactly when open swim is. I also wish they would have a slide, like Coffman or something fun for the kids. The new director and new fitness director are really doing their best trying to improve the West Carrollton YMCA. Overall happy to be a member just wish they could make the place a bit bigger.

From my first class their as someone who barely knew what Crossfit was I felt so welcome and the coaches and other athletes in the class enthusiastically met me where I was at and pushed me at my own pace towards my own aspirations. Beyond that, going to class was one of the parts of my day that I looked forward to the most simply because I would get to see the people that I quickly called my friends and the workout was an added bonus. I'm not a natural athlete. Never have been. I was that kid that actually tried to get hit during dodgeball so I could be out of the game and watch safety from the sidelines. So you can understand my wariness of crossfit and the "cult mentality" that makes it so easy to make fun of on social media. But wandering in those doors one afternoon last fall (knowing no one or nothing about crossfit) was one of the best happenstance events of my life. Me before Bombers: bony, underweight, with no muscle tone due to unhealthy restrictive eating, no knowledge of how to do anything with a bar, couldn't do one push up. Terrible lack of confidence in my coordination, body, and athletic abilities. Now? I've become so much more confident in myself both athletically and as a person. I eat more. I can do RX pull-ups, push ups, and even pistols (on one leg, that is. Still working on the other leg). I had to buy all new pants because of my quad gains. But most importantly? I've made some of the best friends I've ever had. The coaches at Bombers are incredibly kind, personable, and approachable. They WILL do whatever it takes to help you succeed. They're motivating, affirming, and just downright good people. Bottom line: It doesn't matter what your level of fitness is. Don't think you can't do crossfit because you're not at a "certain point." You CAN. And Bombers is the place to do it. Just show up.

But that seems to be where they devote most of their energy, funding, and promotion. Sports training class attendance seems to be dwindling and attendance is far below the levels achieved when the sports training program was located at the far superior (but unfortunately closed) Zero Gravity. The facility is cramped, and the sports training areas are STILL under construction more than a year after they absorbed Zero Gravity. The gaudy and cramped front lobby has seen more construction attention than the actual training areas, being stuffed full of fancy lights, TV screens, bikes, and bike related merchandise that no one seems to buy. That tells you a lot about the priorities of this gym. It's fluff. Bunch of junk for sale. Fancy soap in the showers. Aromatic wash rags after you cycle that you can use to wipe your face. But failure to complete the training areas that members are actually paying to use. Sports training classes that are removed from the schedule for lack of interest. And the amazing thing is Logik raised the prices from Zero Gravity levels, expecting members to pay a premium price for cramped, unfinished facilities and poorly promoted sports training programs. There are numerous options in this area that are far superior to and much cheaper than this gym. I would not spend my money here.

When our son first started at La Petite in Beavercreek when he was 2 1/2 things were pretty good…read more He liked his teacher; the director was good; our son seemed to be learning new things. However, when he turned 4 and switched to the front "room" (aka open space) with the older kids, things went downhill. The teacher turnover rate was high; the kids are in an "open" area near the front lobby, so there are lots of distractions; and it was often very chaotic when we dropped him off, which would immediately send our son into overdrive! Our son has ADHD and really needed a calm, competent, experienced teacher (or at least some ADHD accommodations) to help him, but that never happened. In fact, we would sometimes get phone calls to come and pick our son up because they couldn't manage his behavior. One time he 'spit' at a teacher (not acceptable but also not surprising considering that when my husband dropped him off several boys were running, screaming, and slamming bathroom doors)! He'd only been at school one hour when we got the call to come get him. Guess the teacher had no clue what to do with a 4-year-old boy who spits. I had to quit working that day, but still had to pay La Petite, of course! And, even more frustrating, by the time we got there, our son had already moved on from the incident and was happily playing outside on the playground. He didn't even know why he was being picked up. When we talked to the director and told her that our son was doing great (with no complaints from his teacher) on the mornings he went to his other specialized school, we were told by the director that La Petite is more of a "play based" school and that our son probably should be in a more structured school. Ironically, that is not what La Petite advertises on their website. They appear to promote STEM learning, and "meeting the needs of every child" but I can tell you from first-hand experience, and from the comments from several other parents we know, that is not what's happening there much of the time. It seems many of the teachers are just in "survival mode" in a space that often resembles a zoo. So, here's my advice: Do NOT choose this school if you: 1) Have a child with any special needs, including ADHD 2) Want your child to learn in a well-organized, calm, clean environment 3) Want to be able to work the hours you need to at your job (without getting phone calls to come get your kid) 4) Want a steady, calm, competent teacher with years of experience who understands the behavior of small children and knows how to manage them 5) Want to get what you pay for -- La Petite is NOT cheap!
