During the reenactment of The Underground…read moreRailroad, there is a part of it where our group hid underneath a house in complete pitch black darkness. During this, I couldn't see anything and was sexually assaulted by multiple people. All I could do was swat the hands off of me. We were told to be completely silent under the house because it was a scene where the police asked the people living there if they had seen any escaped slaves. It was the perfect storm to sexually assault somebody and nobody will ever know who did it. I was 13. I feel like my teachers and the employees failed me. I'm 26 now and I've carried it with me all of these years. If they are still doing these field trips, I really hope they added a light under the house, even if it's dim lights so that you can see what's happening around you, or cancelled that part altogether. I hope it hasn't happened to other little girls.

My only complaint is whoever their boss is…read moreSteve, he called multiple times when we were there on Sunday ( while we were checking in and it rained so we were in the shop waiting it out) and then proceeds to list off a million things for them to do without asking if they're helping customers. And if the fear they all showed when the phone would ring was any indication of what type of boss he is, of course they won't interrupt him to tell him they're with a customer. He called almost every time we were in the building, I'm sure he wants to make sure things are running smoothly, but dang the whole place freezes in fear when the phone rings. On another note you all should do cabins and expand a bit. Take a look at Waco Surf in Waco. We've stayed in their cabin and it was a lot of fun.

I went with 2…read morefriends to try the knee boarding, it was first of all a very cheap day. $25 got us a generous 2 hours (20 minutes were added on as well for free) on the cable. The $25 was all inclusive of life jackets, cable ticket, board, and helmet. There are plenty of obstacles and trick equipment in the wake oval for you to try if you're up for it. I didn't fall off at all, but if you do, a potentially long walk awaits you to get back to the launch station. NOTE: Beginners should have good core and upper body strength. Some friends had trouble staying on the tow line due to the speed and jerky turns. I lift weights daily and do advanced hot yoga which really helped. You will get tired and need to take breaks too, they have a nice patio area for that. All in all, I'll be back and up for trying full wakeboarding next time. It's a cheap, fun (if you can stay up/hang on), and unique experience!

My daughter was very excited to attend her first day camp this summer. I filled out her medical…read moreinfo, letting them know that she had been diagnosed with separation anxiety and asthma. I expected and received a phone call on the first day. I discussed with the counselor what coping skills worked best with her. On the fourth day of camp, I received a call saying that she has attempted to assault a counselor. I rushed in to discover that she had been crying, wanting to come home and had just been told "no. You have to participate with the rest of the kids." I was told by the counselor that she had been wheezing all day, and vomiting. When she went to hug the counselor (counselor told me herself that she opened her arms to invite her in for a hug) for some comfort, she was mouth breathing at this time as nothing was done about her asthma even with an air quality alert. They accused her of attempting to bite and refused to allow her to finish the last day of camp. There are 3 times they should have called me before this moment, 2 of which were medical emergencies and could have resulted in hospital visits. I made the mistake of thinking that because they call themselves "Christian based" that my seven year old would be treated with love and kept safe. Instead she was out into a dangerous situation and then criticized and accused of things she never did.

I am a VERY skeptical person and I do not let my children to go to with strangers overnight anywhere. His teacher convinced me to let him go the first year. Last year he came back raving about the camp and asking to go to summer camp there. We weren't able to pull it off. But, after hearing his excitement I had no problem letting him go this year and tagged along. Impressed is an understatement and all of my concerns were calmed. The amazing staff made everything an adventure and kept the children smiling and happy. I don't think the kids realize how much they learned. He wants to go to summer camp this year and I will be letting him go. His sisters too (if they want). This is an excellent place and I can see it being part of his future beyond one summer.

I feel they really treated me well in terms of handling some surprise extra guests, getting the pizza and soda, the host was super helpful. The whole experience was a win. I think it's a little less, OK may be a lot less, noisy and distracting and wild than Scene75, and that's really good for kids that are a little more introverted, or a little younger. I think the younger ones and the quieter ones still can have a good time at get air, where they don't actually have that good of a time at the noisy places. The cashiers know their stuff, and they are just engaged. I walked in carrying some stuff in the first thing they asked is "do you want a cart?". They didn't ask about money first, they focused on returning value first, and I like that emphasis on the humanity.

This rec center is an absolute beast. As someone who loves to work out at recreation centers and…read morehas been to many throughout her life, this one takes the cake as one of the cleanest, most modern, and largest. It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.
