My friends and I have played in the adult volleyball league on Wednesday nights at the Kettering Rec Center for two years now. We love playing here because while we have all played volleyball before, we are by no means pros. We are out there to get active and have fun. We like that it is competitive, but it does not get out of control. The referees are always very friendly and knowledgeable about the rules of the game. They also do a great job of keeping everybody calm and we have never had anybody get out of control during this league. I know there is so many things to do at the rec center and I always see people using the hanging track, weight lifting equipment, and taking the fitness classes. I have been to multiple hockey games there and the ice rink is very well kept. I know my friends and I will continue to play in the volleyball league and will consider trying more of what they have to offer!

The Kettering Rec is the most comprehensive and most affordable recreation center in the Miami Valley. This is great, but it also means that you'll be fighting for elbow room with the old folk on the indoor track or in the pool. (They know a good deal when they see one.) Fortunately, the seniors' old bones stay away from the ice skating rink. In 1990 the Rec opened Dayton's first water park. Its three acres of water and sand was dreamy to a 10 year old, like myself. There are two decently long water slides, a very large mickey-mouse shaped pool (0-4 ft deep), and lots of sand-play areas. The most entertainment might be offered by the super-soaker waterfall, which takes off bathing suits very very often. In 2005, Rob Dyrdek, a Daytonian-Skateboarder dude and founder of Alien Workshop, decided to build a skate plaza next to the Rec. My skate-skillz go very little beyond wearing Vans shoes, but word is this place is da diggity bomb. (www.skateplaza.com).

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner! Yesterday I took my girls to the Rec center for $8ish a kiddo. Non- resident! They had such a great time! They have a water park outside that is the perfect size, and an indoor pool with diving boards. Outstanding if you are a swimmer at any level:) You can't beat the value of the Rec center. Although I don't live in Kettering anymore, I will be using the Rec center for all our activities this year. If you compare Kettering with other comparable membership centers, Kettering blows everyone out of the water! Kettering Rec is by far the best facility, best value, best aesthetics, best staff, best pools, and programming. I have always been a huge Kettering fan, even though I now live in Bellbrook. Kettering is awesome!

This review is for the water park. I really like the water park. It's always fun to go and relax in the water. I would of gave it 4 or 5 stars but there are a few things I dislike. 1) the parks over all size is too small for how many people pack in there on hot afternoons. 2) There is never any chairs for you to sit in. I think I counted 20 lounge chairs around the big wading pool. 3) Kettering spent a lot of money several years ago for improvements and they did a nice job. But they should of put in a lazy river. That would of been super awesome. If you go you will enjoy yourself. But if you want a better water park experience I would take the time to drive the 20 minutes to Huber Heights and visit their water park. It's a bigger place, better slides, more lounge chairs, and they have a lazy river.

Best pool area in Dayton. Nice slides. Clean, right next to the Greene. A+ Recommend.

Gym is good, but pool is not worth it. There's almost no time available for lap swimming and the sauna is closed majority of the day

First time canoeing. Family of 4 ( 2 adults & 2 kids)…read more 1 star: Friendly staff. 1star: Loading onto the boat was super easy and no issue. The river was maintained with nice spots to pull off for a rest. --1 star: the bathrooms at the front building were the dirtiest bathrooms I have ever experienced. Only 1 working toilet in the women's ( arrived at 9am) . --2 stars: unloading area at the end was not maintained. ( the staff member said what they had washed away in the spring) no where to pull your canoe to get off . Steep muddy hill to climb up. Someone in our group got hurt trying to get out when unloading . Young children were struggling to get up the steep hill.

Are you looking for fun and safe activity to do with friends or family while staying socially…read moredistanced from others? This is an awesome activity that checks all of the boxes! We visited Morgan's yesterday for the second time this summer. It's a great meeting spot for friends that live in Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Our first visit was on a Thursday and the second was on a Sunday. There was a big difference in the amount of people when going during the week versus the weekend. I would highly suggest a weekday visit if you would prefer less people. After a brief safety talk, you grab a life vest, paddle, and boat and you are off! We did kayaking on both of our visits, but saw a lot of people out on canoes and rafts. It is about a 7 mile trip and both times it took us about 3 hours doing a relaxing trip down the river with minimal paddling and a lot of floating. We packed a picnic lunch and pulled our kayaks out on a shady spot and ate lunch. This is not a technically different kayaking route. There are a few sections that are rocky, have some tiny rapids, or tree roots that you need to navigate, but all in all, it is a beginner level trip perfect for the novice and fun for all. The equipment is good, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The price is also good for a budget activity ~$30 per person! Let's talk about COVID-19 precautions: Morgan's takes this seriously! They are by reservation only and have designated checkin times. For our weekend checkin when it was busy, a man greeted us when walked up and directed us to an empty table to fill out our group's waiver. Once done, we took to a table with one staff member to checkin. All of this was outside. During the week, this was done in the building, but we were the only group. There are social distance markers on the ground, limit to 3 people per the changing room/restroom, social distance on the bus to bring you back, and all staff wore masks. Thank you for keeping us safe!
