Could it use some updates, sure, but I'm sure Kettering is getting there. The front of the park is a skate park and the back has a playground, path, disc golf course, picnic shelters, and a pond. The park also leads you to the Kettering Rec Center. I love that the park is rubber mulch. I also like the really cool and unique play structure. I do not remember the pond being so big so I feel like that has had an upgrade in the last few years. It looked nice. I'm not sure if you fish there or not. I do think they need to figure out how to get bathrooms back near where the shelters and playground are because if not you are walking up to the way front. The paths are in nice condition and connect to the neighborhoods for longer walks or runs.

It's nice that this connects to Bill Yeck for additional trail fun. Forest Field has a paved path, a gravel path, and some grass trails. They also have indoor bathrooms and water refill during the warmer months. During the winter they bring a port-a-potty in. Very nice place to enjoy some outside time.

I went down the stone stairs ... they were slippery but was glad i still could manage them. They have changed things ... added wooden pathways and more water at the bottom of the stairs. I'd hoped walk to both waterfalls. But wearing new shoes and saw it was muddy. So just headed back up the stairs to the car. They have bird feeders at the buildings. Nice place to hike. I saw two people out on the trials the whole time. Bring a folding chair and you can find some great spots to sit and let your surrounds consume you. If you go to the welcome center there are restrooms and a place to fill up on water. The trail signs are positioned well and make it clear what trail is what. I recommend you take a picture of the park trial map, so you can reference it when necessary. There are some camp sites, and even some 'backcountry' camp sites that you have to hike too. Many different shelters to reserve with parking lots in other areas of the park (you don't have to hike to them). There is a sledding hill too. I only saw probably 10 or 15% of the park. But it is sure worth checking out. I believe it's 5 River metroparks biggest park. Enjoy exploring yelpers!!

This rec center is an absolute beast. As someone who loves to work out at recreation centers and…read morehas been to many throughout her life, this one takes the cake as one of the cleanest, most modern, and largest. It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.

I feel it allows kids to try something/sport they may want to pursue as a lifelong dream but wouldn't know where to start. Who else misses when the middle school mascot was a wildcat?

The new playground is so awesome. It has a lot of things for the kids to do. There is a small splashpad. I and my kids wished they would have built a bigger one that was more fun for all ages, not just little kids. The new stage area is so nice. It offers tiered sitting, which is wonderful for all the concerts and shows that get offered. The bike path is in nice space and connects beautifully to the paths inside the park. The updated bathrooms are nice too. I would appreciate them leaving them open longer throughout the year for those still using the park.

Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve is my first state park I have visited in Ohio, and it did not…read moredisappoint. I'm not a hiker, but I found the trail to be a somewhat easy hike for a senior and the walkways and guardrails were well-maintained. There are lots of benches to sit on to take in nature, darling native plants, and plenty of interesting facts to read about along the trail. We saw photos and explanations of how the Little Miami River was used to power grist and cotton mills, paper factories, and breweries. In the information building, we were greeted by the very friendly ranger, who gave us a botanical identification brochure (it would have been very useful during the hike) and introduced us to the turtles in their enclosure. The preserve was quiet, and we enjoyed ourselves so much. This is just the start of our adventure of the Clifton Gorge, and there are so many more activities to explore. We hope to be back during another season when the water in the gorge is flowing more rapidly.

Growing up in West Milton, I have always been down at the waterfall during the summer, and now that I am a mother I can take my daughter there. going down to the crick under the waterfall is a bit sketchy so do be careful if you decide to go down further!
