The added gravel path is nice for those that can't manage the tougher, longer trails. The nature is just absolutely wonderful here. I see deer, birds, butterflies, moths, and bees among other animals. The trails are always well-maintained and CWPD is quick to fix anything that isn't. I love that it's connected to Forest Field too for additional trails and amenities. They do have an indoor bathroom at Smith house. They also have added a really nice picnic shelter with durable picnic tables.

The trails are short and easy to navigate with paved boardwalk as well, this would be a great park for small kids or dog walking. The surrounding area is beautiful, but there is quite a bit of traffic on the road around the park that you need to be aware of. They have a gorgeous and large shelter that would be great for a family event and plenty of shade trees.

Trails are pretty well kept, though I managed to get a bit turned around a few times, probably more related to my (lacking) sense of direction. There's TONS to see here, like most of the area metro parks, and I missed a few of the main attractions, but did check out the pond and the small waterfall. I'll be back to see the tower and the Patterson Memorial next time!! Worth a visit, if you're in the area!!

They have also added a little wetlands area nearby to explore. The park features a splash pad, a gym structure, swings, tennis courts, baseball fields, picnic shelter, bathrooms, and plenty of green space. My kids enjoy the splash pad and have become braver with it. They also like the playground. The slides and ground get really hot during the summer so I'd wish they'd do something about that. I think the playground is a decent size, but pretty small during the very busy summer months. I like that the splash pad is open and my kids can run around and still be easily spotted. They have ample parking even with daycare/camp buses.

This place, as the other reviewer mentioned so kindly (helped me to find it!) is off of the beaten path and if you don't know where it is you will most likely miss it. Even my GPS couldn't find the address! You just have to know it is across the street from Bills Donuts, up the hill a little and to the right. There is a concrete sign at the corner that lets you know it's time to turn! The park itself is a decent size with a lot of variety within it's walls. You can play ball, take a stroll in the grass, enjoy their really fun looking water park area I am assuming comes on once it is hot enough outside. There is a really modern well maintained play area for kids with a working water fountain (pretty rare these days, eh?) and really unique elements within the play structure like the huge rocking booth see-saw for example. I would have gone crazy for this place as a kid! I took a ton of photos and posted them to the listing, if you want to get a better idea of the play structure. It really is wonderful, I highly recommend a visit! We drive 30 minutes out of our way for it once a month, and it's always an enjoyable experience.

Google took me right there, but I felt like I was not going in the right direction. It's in a residential area and the parking area is not what I was thinking of compared to other MetroParks. About that parking area, there is not a lot of parking. It's a super small lot with maybe 15-20 spots and the day we went was fairly busy. We got lucky and found a place, but I could see a lot of people giving up and not visiting because of the lack of parking. The park itself it beautiful. It's pretty small, but well maintained. There are hiking trails, a playground area, green space, bathrooms, and picnic shelters. The park backs up to one of the golf courses in the Dayton area. The playground area is so neat. It offers a traditional play area and a nature play area. It's covered by a lot of trees so it provides great shade. They also have a giant sandpit. I do wish they had more swings by the actually playground. It made it hard to keep an eye on my older one and still let me little guy swing. Overall a really cool park and one we will return too!

The trail itself is pretty much an out-and-back route with a couple of side trails that go into the neighborhoods or just an alternate route. While the vast majority of the trail is "in the woods", the park is sandwiched between the golf course and the houses but (at least while I was there) the area was pretty quiet. Admittedly, it was a cool winter morning without much sunshine. In any case, the area seems to be a popular place for walking or hill running, either on the trails or the park road. This park, while not one of the largest or most secluded, is a great place for a quick escape. This trailhead has a playground, a pavilion, and bathrooms. It also is located in the middle of a neighborhood so easily found. Check it out.

Could it use some updates, sure, but I'm sure Kettering is getting there. The front of the park is a skate park and the back has a playground, path, disc golf course, picnic shelters, and a pond. The park also leads you to the Kettering Rec Center. I love that the park is rubber mulch. I also like the really cool and unique play structure. I do not remember the pond being so big so I feel like that has had an upgrade in the last few years. It looked nice. I'm not sure if you fish there or not. I do think they need to figure out how to get bathrooms back near where the shelters and playground are because if not you are walking up to the way front. The paths are in nice condition and connect to the neighborhoods for longer walks or runs.

From our tables in the shade we could see the kids at the playground or on the swings. The turn into the park comes up fast and is easy to miss. So take it slow once you get close. There is a trail in the woods that leads to a small pond on the left and there is a bigger pond. It closes for the season during the winter and reopens in late March. The trail is a easy walk on mostly flat terrain but not handicapped friendly. There was some gravel which was nice for traction after some rain. It was a quiet place and peaceful walk in the woods.

There is a convenient tent to keep warm next to the rink and a snack shop next to the ticket booth overing hot coco, soft pretzels / nachos and cheese https://www.metroparks.org/ice-rink/ I noticed that I definitely wasn't taking as many risks, but could still skate. I loved bringing my little one, and that there were green plastic skating gliders for beginners. You can rent skates but if you buy your own your feet probably won't hurt after 30 minutes of skating. Nicole had a cramp in one of her feet from the skates she rented.
