100% recommend this park. I live in Loveland, so it definitely is a little bit of a drive, but it is hands-down worth it. this is a MetroPark right outside of Dayton. They have tons of options for trails for all levels. If you drive past the entrance to the park, where the park is on your right, you will reach a section of the park on the left about a half mile down. There is a small lot there that leads you through some Prairie trails. The orange trail is actually the perimeter trail, and you can catch it here in the prairie. If you were to actually follow the entire orange trail, you are looking at at least about 15 miles of hiking (so be prepared)... But you can pick up pieces of it, and this prairie section is a great place to explore and try part of the orange trail. There is a small parking lot with no bathrooms at the Prairie section of this park. You can easily take the brown trail to the purple trail, and it does a loop back to the parking lot. If you want to add on mileage, you can take the purple trail to the orange trail and make it an out and back opportunity. If you go back to the main entrance of the park. There are several trail options that lead from the welcome center. There are bathrooms and water refill stations at the welcome center. The yellow trail is a great trail to explore, and it is one of the longer ones that leaves from the welcome center. It does a loop, so you can go right or left at the entrance of the trail. I took the left and went clockwise. It definitely had more downhill than if I went to the right. Either way is a great hike! Awesome park! Seriously, the Dayton Metro parks have it going on. If you're looking for a nice drive with country roads and a chance to get outside and explore outside of Cincinnati, you should definitely check out Germantown Metropark.

Just after the entrance to pink trail... ~2.6miles

Thoroughly enjoyed the pink trails here at Germantown Metroparks. Dog seemed to enjoy it as well. Trails are pretty smooth for the most part, never too steep going up or down the pathways and the views are quite lovely especially during this time of year(Fall). Trails are well marked and well traveled so never felt lost. Yep, me and the lovely Mrs are both directionally challenged which makes life in the trail world a bit interesting at times. We plan on going back and venturing the other trails in the next couple weeks. Updates to follow.

Great park with a view of the Germantown dam. There are small trails available to walk, and cute areas for a view. We came in the fall and it was really quite beautiful. None of these trails we're terribly long, so this would be a great place for starting out a hiking regime. There are also some really intense stairs on one side of the hill if you're looking for a good place to train. I also liked that this park system hooked up with the bike trail.

Plenty of areas to park, lots of trails for walking, running, or dog walking, picnic tables, charcoal grills, and a pond for fishing.

Even in a crazy world full of struggle, heartbreak, insecurity, and just about every other NEGATIVE that you can imagine, we're HERE, and this life is a wonderful GIFT!! This memorial park is dedicated to the memory of a man who lost his battle against the demons he fought so hard to conquer, but it's not a "sad" place, IMO... It's beautiful, peaceful, and so IMPORTANT to the waaaaay too many here in this region who have lost their loved ones and search for peace. It's a relatively quick, "easy" hike through the GORGEOUS pines at the entrance, with memorial stops along the way from Daniel's family and many others. The chapel is the "heart" of this place, I believe, with hundreds of heartfelt, sincere tributes to lost loved ones. I added mine to my husband, whose untimely death three years ago changed my life. Peace has been hard to find since October 2, 2021, but this place, as true (for me....) most walks in nature, has truly helped... Thank you to all those responsible for providing and upkeeping this wonderful place!!

If you wander all the way to the back of the park, you may get to spend some time with the farm animals! The cathedral in center of park is notable as there are tons of cards filled out by folks from all over! Again, this is a memorial or place of peace for those who have lost friends and family and just want to spend some time walking through the woods, fields and pathways and think about them...

Just be aware: The trails are moderate and there are some pretty steep spots. It is good for families with older kids, and pets - yay!! but not stroller friendly. I definitely recommend wearing good hiking shoes or boots to have a better grip on the ground. . The park itself is just beautiful. Lots of woodlands that let you recharge your soul. Benches along the trail invite for a break or to soak in the beautiful scenery.

It had been dry so didn't have to worry about mud and it had been cool lately so was hoping the bugs weren't a problem. So doused myself in bug repellent and headed out on my own to get some steps in. love walking in nature. I took pics of the trail map and color of the trail i was doing so I didn't get lost ... at least that was my goal. I did the red and then the blue. both trails were harder than I was looking for. The hills were steep and slippery .. plus rock and roots to stumble on. a few areas were so steep I had to find branches to make myself a walking stick. but the blue trail was a hot mess. so over grown and trees down. At one point it just ended .. the trail led to a lot of brush I ended up walking in the woods in areas that didn't look like a trail. alot was so over grown and they obviously aren't clearing this area and no one is going on the blue trail. Then I get to the parking lot and see the same colors I'd been on in the area near the overlook ... which I'd never been to. So is that different trails with the same colors .... I'm not sure. I followed the signs for blue and red and neither took me to this. I def wont return alone. there were several times I slipped and stumbled and it was scary especially alone. I made it out without falling and lived to hike again somewhere else another day. There was a guy in his truck when I started and the same guy was sitting there when I went to my car .. found that creepy and weird. It was 80 plus degrees why just sit there alone ... odd. park staff should clear the blue trail ... it's a hazard

Not only does the center have a great pool but also 2 water slides, diving board, a splash area, and water rock climbing wall. The different areas of the pool is divided by water ropes and there are lifeguards assigned to each area to ensure the safety of patrons. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas if you want to read or take a cat nap while there. There is a picnic area and also a small playground and sand volleyball if that tickles your fancy. The bathrooms were spotless and had showers and changing areas. Due to the event being private we had catered food but there is a concession stand to buy snacks and food while at the center if need be. This is a great place to bring the whole family for water fun!

Maybe going during the middle of the week when people are at work helped. My kids loved the big pool area with all the fun tools and toys. They also likes the slide, but I would suggest they have a lifeguard who is comfort with kids and telling them to get in line be there because the poor kid who was there was not at all. I thought the price was good for non-residents. A little high, but I get it. I liked that they didn't care about you bringing food in and had plenty of grass, shaded spots to sit with my kids. We had a really great time and will come back again next summer!
