History
Established in 2021.
Fair Labor Law was founded in 2021 by attorney Aaron Johnson to help workers recover wages they are legally owed. Before launching the firm, Aaron worked as a staff attorney and senior managing attorney at the Equal Justice Center, a nonprofit public-interest firm representing low-income workers in employment cases. There he advised and represented clients in individual, class, and collective actions involving overtime and other wage violations, discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment, and he successfully handled numerous trials, appeals, and settlements. He also served as an adjunct professor with the University of Texas School of Law Transnational Worker Rights Clinic. Aaron launched Fair Labor Law to enforce workers rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the federal law guaranteeing overtime pay and minimum wages, together with other state and federal wage laws. Since 2021, the firm has helped recover millions of dollars in unpaid wages and damages for its clients.
Meet the Business Owner: Aaron J.
Hello, and thank you for stopping by. I am Aaron Johnson, founder of Fair Labor Law. I grew up in rural Texas, where most people I knew worked by the hour in fields like oil and gas, manufacturing, and healthcare. They worked nights, commuted long distances, and sacrificed to provide for their families, and I watched companies not always hold up their end of the bargain. That experience is why I am passionate about this work. I studied labor history in law school and saw how the law can be a key that gives people access to justice when they are not used to wielding much power. I spent years representing low-income workers at the Equal Justice Center before launching Fair Labor Law in 2021 to enforce workers rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act and other wage laws. If your employer owes you money, I want to help you recover what you are justly owed.
