I was referred to Andrea Dicks (formerly Bleau) by another non-legal business professional…read more I reached out through their website, mentioning my reference and need for legal services. Amazingly, I received a thorough response within 6 minutes, even during lunch. The paralegal quoted a market hourly rate for the services they could perform, though they couldn't handle all my requests--an acceptable outcome. Unexpectedly, it was apparent I wouldn't work with my reference but instead with an unnamed associate. That limited my ability to research the professional I'd be working with. The paralegal also referred me to another firm that might meet all my needs. I felt that was a fast and efficient reply! Next, I researched the other firm, which is a large practice with many "specialties," making them seem more generalist than this firm. While the other firms' principal is well regarded, it seemed as though clients rarely work directly with her. Also, several reviews of the other firm appeared to me to be quite strident. When referring out, I think it's important to ensure the other firm can uphold your same high standards, as your reputation is linked to the quality of your recommendation. There was limited value in the contact I made since it did not directly lead to business with this firm or the referred firm. The stars are for expedient and polite response, clear and direct communication, and an attempt to be helpful. I'm going with four stars. At least they didn't waste my time in the help they were able to provide. Hopefully they can help you completely.

The legal team guided me through my divorce to end my very difficult and traumatizing marriage in a well planned and necessary process. My property since separation were proven to be separate by law because of a very thorough BDO forensic accounting report. My net worth remains almost 100% intact after the divorce, including my retirement annuity, inherited securities, 401k, home, and investments acquired before marriage as determined by law. I free now and have been enjoying a peaceful and mostly stress free life throughout this process. No one has abused me, abused my finances, emasculated me, argued, screamed, or disrespected me at all since separation. I am very thankful of the work of Deyerle Silva Smith and to see the end of this marriage.

I chose Mackenzie Holst because when I talked to her on the phone, she immediately sounded…read moreconfident and already had a plan for me based on my circumstances when we hung up. From the very beginning, starting in August all the way to mediation in November, she navigated me through the process in a way where everything was super clear. I always knew what the outcomes might be depending on what I decided, and she was great about laying out the options in a way that helped me when my brain was mush from work and I was checked out. Right away, Mackenzie moved to get me expanded standard possession. Every time we spoke on the phone or communicated through email, she got to the point but was detailed and clear. [This is a skill I appreciate in anyone I am paying by the hour.] Something I really, really appreciated was her handling of the funds I placed in the trust. I was sick to my stomach about the amount of money I was giving up to retain a lawyer, but also afraid of what the outcome would be if I didn't spend the money. I was absolutely justified in that in turns out. While $10k out of pocket is huge for me, it could have been so much worse and cost me so much more in terms of custody and final child support payments without her expertise. Mackenzie got me through a very long day of mediation and made it so that nothing was wasted. TL;DR: Pick Mackenzie. She won't be shady with your money, she will respond to you, she'll give you great advice without gassing you up, and she'll work hard to get the best outcome she can.

I was so afraid, I could only bring myself to email Ms. Buss with the issue. She called me within an an hour or so after I sent the email to discuss the specifics. As I said, I was afraid, but she made me feel completely at ease. She was able to get an almost 25 year old case dismissed. I didn't even have to go to court. She listened to the facts and said that it could be dismissed in a few days! She is incredibly responsive, nonjudgmental and kept me in the loop every step of the way. She really knows what she's doing and won't promise anything she can't deliver. She kept up with the case and kept in touch with the prosecutor to ensure that the dismissal and warrant recall were completed as quickly as possible. She has a few options for payment and her fees are more than reasonable. She's the most fair, honest and trustworthy attorney I've ever known. I can't thank her enough. She has brought a peace to my life that I haven't had for almost 25 years. Because the case was dismissed, I am eligible for expunction, which she is also handling for me. Has told me on several occasions that my situation would be over. Asked me to gather evidence which I did. That was in July 2025. Today is Nov 21 almost December and not only has she not looked at it but she hasn't even downloaded. I've spent over 5 hours on that. Being from Houston it's quite the journey to Austin. After driving to Austin and even asking two days before if court was still on and being told yes by her she told us to go back home as she had court somewhere else. 10 hours of wasted driving time for my family. I've been told several times she was going to meet with the prosecutor to get this dismissed. Over 10 times. Not one thing has been done to date. I've seen my health insurance canceled despite me pleading with her. I've sent videos of my ex attacking me even putting fentanyl in my drink. Yet no movement from my attorney at all. I'm not sure how all these positive reviews got here, however I've not seen that attorney at all. The worst thing of all is that I've let down my daughter based on the words and promises of Diana. She's now ignoring me and I have no clue what to do. Once again the system has failed to protect the innocent. I've never been so disappointed in a person. That drama ended up causing trouble for me with the state. I had never done anything wrong I had never been in trouble at work or with the state before and I had not done nothing wrong. But, with what my former EMT partner had said I was reported anyway. At first I tried to handle it on my own thinking that since I had never been in trouble and hadn't done anything wrong that I could manage by myself and boy was that was a big mistake! The state Agencies can be quite uncooperative to say the least, even when you haven't done anything wrong. I hired Bertolino law firm after I reached the end of what I could handle alone. All I can say is I wish I had hired the Bertolino law firm from the very beginning. My attorney Ms. Bloodsaw literally saved my license and got the state to back down. She was able to obtain everything my former EMT partner had said (it was rumored around the station but never confirmed) and boy was that an eye-opener. I realized how much worse things could have been for me and thank God they were not. I believe that because I hired the Bertolino law firm and Kerry Bloodsaw that the damage my former EMT partner had tried to do was mitigated. I would absolutely recommend the Bertolino law firm to absolutely anybody!! From the beginning interaction to the end absolutely everyone I talked to and worked with was kind, compassionate, and excellent in every way. If I ever end up in a jam which I pray I never do I would not go to anybody else but them. Please don't let the cost scare you away because they are well worth every penny!
